Neighbors upset with Brangelina for monopolizing police

Yesterday Celebitchy reported on the shockingly brutal altercation between Brangelina’s security team and photographers. At first it seemed like a relatively minor incident, but later in the day it was revealed that a lot more was involved, including a good bit of blood. Literally.

One can’t help but think that neighbors in the small French village of Brignoles are getting pretty annoyed with all the drama – and according to E! that’s very much the case. Residents are upset not just by the attention, but by the way Brad and Angelina are constantly monopolizing the town’s resources.

Sources tell E! News that a main point of conflict between the privacy-seeking superstar couple and the residents of Brignoles is that the village only has a few police officers, whose primary civic duty, the neighbors say, should not be to help ward off paparazzi.

“They told them to hire more security and that they can’t be called out every day because Brad and Angie aren’t happy,” a police source says. “They have other crimes like burglaries and muggings to look into. French tax payers shouldn’t have to pay to protect a couple of American celebrities.”

Residents also say the Jolie-Pitts could take a page from the playbook of fellow locally dwelling celebs Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, who have lived in the area for years without ever feeling the need to use up police resources. Instead, Depp and Paradis simply sue if a publication uses any privacy-invading pictures, and the paparazzi, locals say, have learned to leave the twosome alone.

And unlike the Jolie-Pitts, Depp and his common-law missus have never sold photos of their brood, so locals complain the Jolie-Pitts are bringing their paparazzi problems on themselves by seeking to control which shots are allowed for general consumption.

[From E! News]

Another issue that’s already garnering a lot of attention is the planned schooling of the Brangelina clan. Other parents don’t want the herd attending the same school as their children, for fear the paparazzi will stake out the area and invade their own children’s privacy.

But it’s not just the strain on the fuzz that has locals barking at Brangelina. A group of citizens has already voiced dissent over the possibility of Maddox & Co. enrolling in a local school this fall, grousing about the possibility of shutterbugs camped outside the campus.

“This is a beautifully peaceful area of the world, and Brad and Angelina are threatening that peace,” says one disgruntled resident.

“Their kids have the right to go to school but not if it means strange men hanging around at the gates with cameras threatening local kids’ privacy. A lot of villagers aren’t happy at all that they’ve moved here and wish they’d move away again.”

[From E! News]

It stinks for the kids, because parents can – and probably will – make that argument anywhere they attend school. Maddox has been attending the prestigious Lycee Francais schools, which has a network of over 400 schools around the world. Presumably attending schools that are somewhat linked like that gives the kids a bit of continuity they wouldn’t otherwise have. But it makes perfect sense that other parents wouldn’t want to bring that level of drama into their kids’ lives. Brad and Angelina need to find some way to make peace with the locals. Maybe following the Johnny Depp plan really is a good idea.

    margaritas anyone?

  2. daisy424 says:

Set me up Anni, on the rocks please.

  3. Anni says:

there you go daisy! cute cocktail-paper-umbrella thingie?

    *puts feet up and waits*

  4. Leandra says:

Wht don’t they buy a ranch somewhere like Julie Roberts has? It doesn’t seem paps are taking photos of her family at home? And Tom Cruise seems to have privacy at Tellerude. I think there is a way, but it’s not this place in France.

  5. Megan says:

It sucks that tax payers money is going towards their security. They should just hire more private protection, not suck up police resources. It’s not like they can’t afford it.

  6. Mairead says:

Lots of muggings and burglaries and they’ve only a few police? Lord, even Ireland is (marginally) better than that.

Time to start to use the media for nagging your star-struck politicans into securing more police.

  7. Enonymous says:

I agree with the comment about Angelina and Brad bringing this to themselves. Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis never tried to make quick cash by selling their kids pictures, so the media and the public have taken them much more seriously when they ask for privacy. If Angelina and Brad release the pictures for free then the paparazzi would not cash in on them as much and they would make a point that they want to be left alone from now on, but I doubt that would ever happen. As for charity, they have more then enough money of their own to spare without constantly selling their children’s photos and fueling this problem even further.

  8. Shane says:

Multi multi multi millionaires. Make a large donation to the local police department to hire more officers for everyone. More locals employed. More security for everyone. Problem solved.

  9. daisy424 says:

I would think the taxes that the locals are paying and the owners of the chateau that they rent, should be enough to hire more police.
If the Paps are on private property, they are breaking the law by trespassing.

  10. bite me says:

here another take from access hollywood

Poupot said it was the first time the chateau has called on police to intervene since the Jolie-Pitts settled there earlier this year, ahead of the twins’ birth.

  11. Snowblood says:

*deep breath* I think I need a drink.

O.K. – now, the local politicians, mayor, hospital administrators, etcetera and so on were pissing their pants with unbridled glee for the last few weeks since the Jolie Pitts took up residence there. Now all of a sudden they want to grouse about the two using up their police resources and bringing their kids to school?? Unbelieveable. Unreal.

Oh, and since when is this idyllic, sleepy paradisical wee town in the outback of the South of France all of a sudden a hotbed of criminal activity, that the cops cannot be bothered with criminal activity taking place on the private property of people they were flipping OUT with exuberance to have come move there in the first place?

  12. Sandra says:

Great new nickname for brangie. A-rad!

  13. RAN says:

Snowblood, you make me laugh! Your last comment had me rolling!

Anywho… I guess I (again) (hate me now 😳 ) have to side with the locals. The couple can certainly afford increased security. Instead, what’s happening is this high profile couple moves into the neighborhood and brings in all of these elements that haven’t been present in the past. In addition to that, they seem to expect the protection of the local police – which is fair for the most part, but if the couple doesn’t take necessary security precautions, it really isn’t fair to have all of that going on in the neighborhood. I’d be pretty upset if it were my neighborhood – even if it were my favorite celebrity.

Let’s face it, BP & AJ aren’t you and I. They need to protect their own interests and not expect that others will do so. They have a right to live their lives as they wish, but due to their status, they really should consider taking some action of their own accord.

  14. bros says:

agree daisy, these crazy paps in commando clothes trespassing on private property is not the responsibility of B&A’s private security team to take care of-if these people are breaking the law by breaking and entering private property, they have every right to call the cops to protect them. only poor people are allowed to call the cops? if they have people they hire to protect them on the streets and extra security in the home from god knows what, then they arent allowed to call the cops to intervene?

im not buying the argument, as I dont buy most arguments posted from the hyprocritical enonymouse that “they brought this on themselves” since they sell pictures of their children. johnny depp and vanessa garner no where near the frenzy of interest and paparazzi antics as brad and angie do. so I guess jamielynn, matthew and camilla and levi, marcia cross, nicole, christina and every other celeb out there who makes a contract with a magazine for pictures of their babies is not entitled to police protection when someone is trespassing on their property? its simply wrong.

  15. Scott F. says:

Here’s an idea, – if you don’t like paparazzi walking onto your property, move to an area where a ‘shoot on sight’ trespassing law exists. After the first one gets blown away, strap him to the hood of your car like a prize buck, drive to the front of your property, and drop his body off with his other pap buddies.

If that doesn’t get the message across, I don’t know what will. I sincerely doubt Casey Aldridge has any problems keeping the paps off his property after that gun incident.

  16. Anne says:

Depp would garner this type of pap activity if they handled it the same way Pitt and Jolie do, I have no doubt about that.

Xtina and all the rest aren’t stalked because the dollar amounts were considerably smaller – not worth the risk to get the first photo.

  17. Anastasia says:

Have to agree with Snowblood here, this story sounds fake fake fake. Since we know for a fact the town officials were all aglee about A&B (saw them holding a press conference and smiling from east to west about to bust with joy), and this one doesn’t have any verification, I’m going to wonder if this isn’t some story planted to make A&B look bad, like the one about her being told to gain weight for a movie we don’t even know for sure is being made, LOL.

All that being said, I do think the best thing would be if they made one place (this one seems good) their permanent home base. Of course they’re going to have other homes (hell, I would, too) but make this one their main place they live, especially during the school year, and especially as the younger ones come of school-age, too.

Hell, for all anyone knows that IS the plan.

  18. Anastasia says:

I forgot to mention–I’m already drinking, LOL. A lime margarita on the rocks. I make a mean one. And I’m using some really nice tequila, not any rotgut stuff. Stuff that’s almost too nice to put in a margarita, but I am anyway, LOL.

    Happy Saturday!

  19. Lola says:

    LOL Scott F. Thats hilarious….

Selling baby pictures contrary to many excuses, only signals that your kids are for sale because you make money off them yourself. It actually worsens the paps situation. Then again this couple looooooove attention.

These two good for nothing individuals shut down a whole country Namibia for their whims. Money that would have gone to the health care went tintot heir security. I am sure the little they donated could not compensate.

I am glad the French are enlightened people to see them as a liability that they are.

Johnny Depp earns five times the amount these two earn combines and gives to charity ten times more but apart from what he gave to great Ormond street, $2million, he always donates quitely.

If Brangelina wanted they would have privacy. Just stop the press conferences and showing birth certificates to the media. Oh and pimping your kids.

  20. bros says:

doubt it anastasia-depp is part of a due in which the second person doesnt garner 1/50th of the interest angelina does. as an ‘interest inspiring team’ the depps fall a little flat. they dont do anything besides live in france-they dont have active advocay lives all over the world which requires that they generate publicity for their causes and groups they work with/for. the depps dont sell magazine covers, so there are no paps. not because they ‘like privacy’

  21. daisy424 says:

Lola, check out their rankings on Forbes.
I dunno why I try, you will skew the rankings to fit your point anyway………..

  22. Steph says:

Lola you rock. Don’t ever let anyone tell you different.

  23. Anastasia says:

bros, I think you meant to say that to Lola.

But I do agree with what you said.

Lola’s one of those who is so hate-filled when it comes to this couple that she can’t see straight. Probably has life-sized posters of them at her shooting range and secretly loves them but cannot admit it.

    ROFL.

  24. Sandra says:

I think if the paps were trespassing it is a police matter-and most people are jumping to that conclusion without facts. From what i read the problem was the taking of pictures-the police spokeswoman’s statement supports no trespassing involved. While the pap pics may be reprehensible- if they aint on the property and only taking pics- it aint a police matter!

  25. Scott F. says:

Bros – Jonny Depp has a huge ‘advocacy life’, he just doesn’t have publicists following him to chronicle every bit of good he does. That’s one of the only ‘valid’ complaints I think you can make about Brad and Angie – you just can’t deny that they actively court the media, which is why they garner little empathy in situations like this one.

Remember a few months back when Jonny Depp went to the children’s hospital that saved his daughter in his Jack Sparrow outfit and hung out with all the kids? Are you honestly going to tell me that if Brad had done something like that there wouldn’t have been pictures freaking everywhere? I never saw a single picture of Depp, and the story was reported after the fact.

You’re kind of implying it’s because there’s no interest, but I believe it’s because he’s not doing it for the publicity, he’s doing it for the kids. You don’t think women all over the country would buy a magazine with Jonny Depp dressed as Jack Sparrow spending time with sick kids? For crying out loud my wife would be one of the first in line.

It’s great when actors want to help a cause, but they need to remember that they’re actors, not professional advocates. When you step up to the level of professional advocate, people’s expectations of your commitment to the cause becomes elevated to a level that most celebs can’t achieve. I’m just not gonna buy your life’s work is helping poor third world children when you live a life of excess that would make a Roman Emperor blush.

Have your little causes, go to your charity fund raisers, sign the checks over – but don’t try to act like you’re anything more than a person lucky enough to get paid for playing pretend.

  26. Toni says:

Since this is contrary to the statement from the cops from yesterday, how all of a sudden to they monopolize the police. If the first call was yesterday.

The source is E Online, and we all know who works for them–Ted Casablanca who is wrong so often that he is a joke. Also, E Online staff trespassed on their property in Los Angeles when they were putting together a nice little “hit piece” on them, so I guess they understand how it feels to get busted. This “channel” is so obsessed with the Heidi’s, Spencers’ and other TV teens and can’t get the time of day from this couple, so they throw as much mud on them as possible. I think where they are living is the equivalent of a “ranch” in the middle of nowhere. It just happens to be in France.

This is the way all the tabloids have been acting because this couple are
not talking and when you stay quiet as this couple has done, you have to make stuff up–US, In Touch, Life and Style and the list goes on. I read where Jane Seymour even got upset about what the tabloids said she said. Basically, they left out half of the conversation to make it look negative, when in reality, she just said Angelina should not worry about losing her baby weight.
Typical tabloid way of reporting. Just like this.

  27. Anastasia says:

Scott, when Angelina had her twins recently Brad brought toys to a lot of the sick kids in the same hospital. I still haven’t seen pics of that and there probably aren’t any.

And both stories were reported after the fact.

    What’s the difference?

  28. Anne says:

Yup, Scott nails it again. I would be second in line to buy that mag with Depp in it – never have purchased a mag with the purpose of seeing Pitt.

Depp is as much of a sex symbol as Pitt – he’s just living a much more quiet life. He doesn’t court the media and no-one can deny the fact Jolie-Pitt court the media – that point is made by their desire to sell the baby pictures – among other stunts. I used to think it was admirable of Jolie to not have a publicist but I’m starting to think that a very calculated action. I also used to think they wanted little to do with the Hollywood publicity machine but that theory is blown out of the water by their need to sell photos of their children. And I don’t give a flying &*^% that the money goes to ‘charity’.

  29. Anne says:

Also, I think this goes without saying, I’m neither a Jolie/Pitt lover or hater, not a fan of either but don’t understand the unbridled hate some have for them.

  30. Zoe says:

Ho Hum… Anastasia and Daisy424 kick everyone’s ass as usual.

@ Daisy424: “I would think the taxes that the locals are paying and the owners of the chateau that they rent, should be enough to hire more police.
If the Paps are on private property, they are breaking the law by trespassing.” This is a great point.

@ Anastasia: the point about Brad at the hospital shuts Scott F. down too easily, non? (it would be nice to have a challenge once in a while)

A lime margie sounds ridiculously good right now. Would you mind?

  31. Zoe says:

Anni, Snowblood, stop doin’ shots, you two and get in here!

  32. daisy424 says:

Zoe, it’s about time you showed up 🙂 I think that Anastasia has the good booze…..

  33. Snowblood says:

Oh! Yes, yes here I am – wow, on the real, all this top-shelf margie talk has me craving a REAL Silver Petron margarita now. It’s 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon, perfect time for one!

I’d patron pictures and website stories and read magazine articles about Johnny Depp, too, all day long all the time if such pics and articles were around. But Vanessa Paradis doesn’t interest me at all, and Depp is not a sharer of his private life & children. Which is his perogative! And it doesn’t make him a saint, either, he’s just him with his own way of doing things.

So – Good for (swoon – beautiful!) Johnny Depp, but I say don’t demonise the Jolie-Pitts because they DO share. They’re just different celebrities. Not everyone has to act exactly the same. Geez.

  34. Anastasia says:

Oooooo Patron tequila. Srsly. I want for my brithday, Srsly. That’s good sipping stuff my friends.

Zoe, you got it. I only make lime and on the rocks. Homemade recipe, not a mixer. I live in Texas, I know what I’m doing, so just enjoyu.

Ok my fingers are getting to numb to type much longer, but thanks Zoe. I don’t think I’ll ever understand the X-treme Hate On some have for this couple, all I can conclude is that A&B must have skipped my house when they were going around pissing in everyone’s breakfast cereal then burning their houses down. And kidnapping their children. And killing their grandparents.

Whatevs. Lola, Kelly, et al should all drink more, forget about Angelina for once.

    ROFL.

Cheers all. Now if this isn’t too obscene, I’m off for a quiet moment or two with th e husband.

  35. vdantev says:

Blame the paps, not Angelina stupid neighbors, they are the catalyst. Start collecting their heads- end of problem. Margaritas are for tea-totalling college girls, make mine a 7and7.

  36. Anastasia says:

margaritas are also for 30 something moms.

Slutty college girls drink ’em frozen, sweet and weak.

WOMEN drink margaritas on the rocks, strong, and with nicer tequila. Ahhhh, smooth. Then switch over later in the night to shots, thankyouverymuch.

But yeah, ok dickhead, here’s your 7&7.

(Just kidding about the dickhead part.) Cheers!

  37. Zoe says:

Thanks for the Margie, that’s just the way I like em. (Except I prefer to actually be in Mexico, but Texas-made is close enough). Have fun with the Husband!
I’m feeling a little shnockered myself… go get em alla yous!…*staggers out for a lay-down**

  38. Scott F. says:

Alright – maybe I should clarify. It’s not the actions these people take, it’s the manor they take them and the timing that always seems a little too perfect to be accidental.

I’m not a foaming at the mouth conspiracy nut, I don’t have a personal vendetta against either of them, but you’d honestly have to shut your brain off not to see how blatant some of their PR moves are.

Jonny Depp goes to a hospital that saved his daughter and spent time with the kids. This came out of nowhere – he wasn’t in the press negatively just before hand, he wasn’t promoting a new movie, he wasn’t even improving his own image.

Now – Brad Pitt goes to visit kids at the hospital his wife is in… the day after a crowd of people gathered outside and bitched about the mayor playing favorites with the fancy celebs. Now, in a vacuum, that might just be coincidence – but these kind of things do seem to ‘coincidently’ happen around them a lot.

Does it make them evil? No. Does it make the good they do any less valid? Well… not really. But it does point to a very shrewd understanding of courting the public and building their image. I just don’t like the ‘they’re just trying to live their lives and do their thing’ crap a lot of their defenders throw out there.

No, they’re not. Hardly anyone in Hollywood or on Capitol Hill is either of that matter. These are actors you’re talking about (even the politicians), who spend their whole lives being someone different every day, and you don’t think they know how to put on a show for the public?

That’s all that amazes me about these two. Most people are smart enough not to trust their politicians, and to see through the act to the fact that they’ll be whatever they need to be to get elected. We just haven’t caught up to the point where we can see through Hollywood’s bullshit too.

  39. Snowblood says:

😆 Anastasia, awesome post! So cool – rock on with your bad self, baby – and oh! we make our margies the same ind of way! I use fresh lime juice, too, always over rocks, and with the Patron, and like a little quarter teaspoon of superfine sugar, all shaken vigorously and poured into a tumbler over fresh ice.

    Here you go, Vdantev, 7 & 7 for you – 😀

  40. Zoe says:

*staggers back in to see what’s cookin’*

@Scott F: “Now – Brad Pitt goes to visit kids at the hospital his wife is in… the day after a crowd of people gathered outside and bitched about the mayor playing favorites with the fancy celebs.”

Scott hon, the crowd of people were bitching about the Mayer, not Brad Pitt. They were simply taking the (great) opportunity to ride some free press to get their grievances heard. Hardly a PR catastrophe for the JP’s.

*does uber quick shot of Patron and bites lime* 😯

  41. Snowblood says:

You do make a great point, Sctt F, but I still like this couple and I still enjoy news about them and photos of them. I never DID believe any of the Bush, Jr. hype, though, nor any of the politicians’ hype for that matter. I realise that most of it is careful PR spin, but whatta ya gonna do? I go for my gut instinct about the people I see & read about from day to day, I trust my own instincts. I’m not a dumb baa-ing sheep which just believes everything its told in the media every day. I can’t help instinctively liking certain public figures and disliking others.

  42. Anastasia says:

    Ok I’m back.

Zoe darling, honey, sweetie darling, if you are drinking Patron you can ditch the lime, my friend. No need for it unless you just like it that way. If so, then keep on keeping on. I do like lime too.

Good Lord the internet is turning me into an aksl

    alky

    .

    Har.

  43. Anastasia says:

BTW celebitchy is hte BEST celebrity gossip blog around. This is the only one I even bother to make comments on. And the only one I check every single day; I do check dlisted, but I don’t comment there theres a different vibe there adn lots of inside jokes amonght the posters.

    But this one? fucking awesome

  44. Zoe says:

Mmm, just like the taste, you’re right, this is some smmooooth shite..

Scott, don’t be peeved, we love you actually… can someone slide a coldie over to Scott?

  45. Anastasia says:

What does Scott drink? I’ve got everythin.

    A cold Stella perhaps?

    Some Tanqueray and ice? (ewww)

  46. OXA says:

The French are happy to accept all the cash tricklng into their economy that the Jolie- Pits bring.
They and the papparazi they bring an influx of cash as they all need to eat, buy supplies, have to stay somewhere, gas their cars etc.

  47. karen says:

Okay, I’m much more of a lurker on this website than an “activist” but here goes my 2 cents. I’m not sure “courting the media” is what the JPs do, in fact they seem to TRY and have a quiet life…nobody will let them. As far as “pimping out the kids”…..pleeeaasse. They seem to have a very clear understanding of exactly what millions of dollars can do for a charity, so why not help facilitate it by letting the celebrity obsessed world have a glimpse of the kids. They know they will be stalked until it happens, so why not go ahead and make some money for a charity. Don’t get me wrong, I think Johnny Depp is a fantastic do-gooder..but the level of interest is simply not the same as it is for Angie and Brad. Perhaps if he were married to a superstar wife that he dumped his other superstar wife for…because that kind of stuff is truly/sadly part of the contant attention that Angie and Brad get, and that is what sells magazines.
As far as the paps that were trespassing in CAMO GEAR, how could that possibly be considered anything but a criminal matter ? Nobody has the right to invade someones home/property in that manner, period.

  48. Scott F. says:

Hey, if you know me, I take very little personally. I just wanted to make myself clear. Just for the record – I don’t dislike them. For my money there are few hotter than Angelina, and Brad is alright, though I did prefer gritty Brad (Fight Club) to ‘mainstream Brad’ (Oceans).

I just think everyone needs to remember that they’re actors, and their public persona’s are likely just another character they play. I don’t think they shouldn’t be lauded for doing charity – but I think it’s destructive to the movement to focus so completely on these celebrities and their contributions when normal people devote their entire lives every day to the same causes.

Sure, you can say they bring light to issues, but when people see ‘Angelina Jolie Goes to Iraq’ – you think people are reading that article for insight into Iraq, or to learn about Angelina?

I think it’s a little insulting to insinuate that we NEED these people to ‘enlighten’ us anyways. I have access to the same info they do, and unlike most actors, I actually have a secondary education.

Gah, not that it really matters what I think anyways – despite my best efforts, they still don’t consult me before making decisions 😀

Oh, and if we’re drinking, I’ll take Cuervo on ice. I used to try to fool myself into thinking I was sophisticated by splashing a little margarita mix on top, but I gave up the pretense while in the service. A Marine ordering a margarita will turn more than a few heads.

  49. Sandra says:

Anastasia-you advised me on a previous thread to take meds after a non hateful-yet negative comment about brangie. Been medicating myself all day-still don’t have your views. If you have a day job- keep it.

  50. daisy424 says:

Scott, I was digging your first post, I thought you were being sarcastic. It had a little Ted Nugent vibe going on. Kinda sexy. Hmmm, ex-Marine? Works great for me. Set him up.

Good point Karen, ladies, she’s ready for her shot.

  51. Zoe says:

    Set em up ‘tender…

  52. Snowblood says:

Hey Sandra, bella! Share some of your fun meds! I’ll take a couple Vicoprofen, an Ativan, and another round of Silver Petron Margies – oh, plus here’s a drink for Karen, too – very cool post!

Man, I’m so lazy and bored this afternoon, all I wanna do is hang around and drink virtual Margies and pop pills with the cool kids at Celebitchy. Ta hell with the laundry and all the moving-in I still have to do on my new pad! God I feel lazy today…

  53. Anastasia says:

Sandra, I doubt very seriously I advised anyone to take meds who make comments like Scott’s above (just an example of how you can discuss them without acting like they personally wronged you). I was addressing everyone whose hatred of them is over the top and creepy. If yours isn’t, then you aren’t in that group! Sorry your meds aren’t working.

Scott, you got it. Cuervo and ice. Yum, actually. I’m to the point that I’ve decided a blow pop would be good with my drinks, don’t ask.

  54. vdantev says:

Not matter what they do, the paps will be there to take pictures, they’ll tie traffic and the cops will be there- and we’ll be here to bitch about it.

    sunrise, sunset.

    Gimme another, barkeep.

  55. Anastasia says:

    vdantev, you got it buddy.

  56. Snowblood says:

That is so funny what you said about the blow pop with drinking, Anastasia – I used to do that all the time, I went through a major blow-pop and drinking phase during my college years in San Luis Obispo, got all kinds of pics of me with that ubiquitous lollipop in my hand or mouth whilst drunk/at a bar/at a party/ at any night-elemented anything actually. Those things go with hard booze like nobody’s business. Marriage made in heaven.

I think I’m getting a weird internet crush on Scott F. I have always had a hard-core weakness for military men. Ssssssexy….

  57. Snowblood says:

er – never mind. I was trying to see if I could figure out how to bypass the auto-moderation program on Celebitchy, it diodn’t work. Carry on! Meanwhile, I’ll have another of Sandra’s Vicoprofen and just chill out and wait & see how long it takes for my post to clear customs. And do a little tipsy fantasizing about Scott F in the meantime…

  58. daisy424 says:

vdantev I have to know, what does your post name stand for?

My glass is empty Anastasia, any left in the blender?

Snowblood,I don’t blame you, I wouldn’t want to unpack either. It’s 8:40 here, I need my sons to hook up thier amps & start playing some Rock & Roll.8)

  59. Sandra says:

Anastasia- as a disabled person who takes meds-it really hit home. I am sure you didn’t mean anything by it. Snowblood-have gotten bella before- usually sandy-ego

  60. Anastasia says:

Sorry Sandra, it was just a figure of speech.

  61. countrybabe says:

Johnny Depp also has his own island. If they wanted, they could buy their own island.

  62. bros says:

I personally dont give a shit if they call 100 paps to come in and take pictures of them rebuilding homes in new orleans and campaigning for green building, visiting refugees in pakistan/india after earthquakes, drawing attention to orphages in africa, refugee camps in iraq, etc. call 500 paps and get as many pictures out as you can, because seriously, these are real issues that are not covered enough. they know they are going to get photographed, so most of the time it happens they try to make sure some other context surrounds it-very rarely are there just picutres of them lying around in their bathing suits, shopping at gucci, sipping margaritas like the rest of us on here.

everytime they are courting the paps they are usually in the act of bringing attention to some under-examined issue and I seriously respect them for that-I applaud them for their craftiness and media savvy. I dont think its calculating and evil and shady. and it doesnt mean that they have signed away their right to privacy. the comparison to the depps is specious, as someone above pointed out: two different celebs with two different approaches to life. sorry if it seems like a love fest for the jolie pitts, but I think they are trying to do the best they can do walking the tightrope between wanting to use their celebrity to bring attention to issues no one wants to confront and retaining a modicum of privacy, which they are totally entitled to. drink on.

  63. vdantev says:

It’s a holdover from my vampire the masquerade roleplaying days, the two V’s represent fangs, lol. 😳

  64. geekazoid says:

My sympathies to the locals. They have every right to feel that way. The saftey of their own kids are at risk because of those sicko men who follow these two.

This article is 100% right about the Joliepitts bringing it upon themselves. Depp is teh perfect example if the pitts really were bothered by all this hoopla then there would be a few fists flying from daddy and lawsuits being filed and what not. But the truth is, they aren’t going to sue because as soon as they do all the drama, and coverage and spot light ends and thats usually what worried most celebrities, it’s nto when the camera are flashing it’s when they spot.

  65. Edna says:

this can not be helping European perceptions of Americans.

  66. daisy424 says:

Bros; Good point’s in your post, I agree.

vdantev – More intersting than mine 🙂

The boys are playing AC/DC, OI!
    Night.

  67. czarina says:

Frankly, the Jolie-Pitts ought to move because it sounds like a terrible place to live. Lazy police officers who announce publicly that they don’t care if people are tresspassing (i.e. breaking the law) on a “glamour couple” (meanwhile, if any pap gets hurt by the hired security guards, how many millions do you think they’ll sue to Jolie-Pitts for?); neighbours who are heartless enough to want to alienate the Jolie-Pitt children (who are the least responsible for any of this), rather than risk it upsetting THEIR lives.
No blame for the paparazzi. No suggestion that the paps are in the wrong to break the law and harass these people.
    Disgusting.
I realize Angelina Jolie feels sentimental about France because of her mother, but I agree they could probably find much more secure accomidations surrounded by better people than where they are.
On the bright side for them–they’re only RENTING the chateau. This is why its always smart to rent a mansion before you buy it. (That issue comes up a lot for me…LOL)

  68. Anastasia says:

    geekazoid read bros post.

  69. Snowblood says:

Bros, in the words of the Daddy Turtle from Finding Nemo, You so totally rock! And you, too, Czarina!! Very cool posts, beautifully put.

Vdantev, oh so THAT’s what your name means! That’s my beloved boyfriend’s nickname, Dante! And he’s into vampires, too, or at least is very familiar with vampire lore; he’s from Romania, which he likes to call “Transylvania.”

  70. Hello? says:

It’s not like they’re security deficient. You still have to call the popo to arrest the douche-bags who were trespassing. Why is everyone blaming Brange? They moved to a po-dunk town in France to be left alone. It’s not their fault that paps are dressing in camo and hopping the fence to get pictures. Where the hell are they supposed to go? Namibia? Ooooh, wait… sorry- they been there done that. 😮

  71. Nightbird says:

They should move to Nashville. Celebs are left alone not counting a friendly “Hello”.

  72. pamela says:

Doesn’t it seem that everyime the Jolie-Pitts are riding a high, we get an influx of negative stories?

I have a feeling we will not be seeing pictures of the twins anytime soon. Brad and Angie may just do a total lock-down, and i would not blame them.

Those villagers, if true what they supposedly said, seem to be some ungrateful wretches.

  73. Alina says:

Why won’t everybody just leave them alone to raise and educate their kids?!

  74. someone says:

Scott…I couldn’t agree with you more…Angelina doesn’t have any problem telling the world about her sex life, and all the inside info. And then they wonder why paps won’t leave them alone..unbelieveable

  75. pamela says:

Oh, please stop with your “Scott, i couldn’t agree with you more” comment. You people would agree with a freaking rock, as long as Angie was being vilified.

    God you’re transparent.

  76. jamesbond says:

angelina’s a selfish bitch. wldnt expect anything more of her

  77. Debbie Hess says:

For your info on Pitt’s wife they aren’t married. They have illegitamit kids. Wow that’s really rough to do.
Let’s not be married and have kids. My daughter says “People act like this is the second coming of Christ” The whole thing makes me sick.

  78. pamela says:

jamesbond, why dont you grow up, and stop it with your “trash talk”? You are becoming monotonous. You know they say what comes out of a person’s mouth, is a reflection of their character. I would hate to have a run-in with you.

  79. pamela says:

When you can spell “illegitimate” i will listen to you. Until then, they are the Jolie-Pitts. Deal with it.

  80. pamela says:

Also, i hope you are referring to the children of Mark Walberg, Halle Berry, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Naomi Watts, and numerous others as illegitimate.

  81. Enonymous says:

bros, how about you STFU about me because when it comes to my comments you know I make more sense then you, you on the other hand just continue to bash people and other poster that seem to disagree with you.

I do not care if someone disagrees with my comment, that is fair enough but if they personally attack me just for the sake of some celebrity then that is completely off limits and not at all exceptable.

  82. RAN says:

Hey… no one’s here for a spelling lesson. Anyone ever hear of ebonics? There is no spell check in this comment box (and I’m not suggesting there needs to be), so let’s stop criticizing typing, grammatical and spelling errors. It really makes those of you who point it out look juvenile. It’s almost like the middle school days – “I know you are but what am I?”

  83. Lola says:

Enonymouse, Brangeloonies are raving lunatics and will form at the mouth when they see a comment not worshipping their pathetic gods.

The truth is that the public is starting to see through these two. This was bound to happen. You can’t get away with fooling people for years. It is about time people see that nothing has changed in Iraq, Namibia, Vietnam etc since Angelina went there to raise awareness. However, Angelina’s profile has risen ten fold. Now tell me who is benefitting from all this charity.

To me they are not any better than Sienna Miller, infact she is better since she does not do charity to boost her tattered image or adopt kids to pimp them.

BTW even adopting fattens their purses. Besides if we all could get kids as easily as they do, most of us would have adopted ages ago. All this do gooding has helped Angelina adopt kids with her past. No one would give her a kid. Look at how much easier it was for her to adopt Z and Pax than it was to adopt Maddox.

One thing is for sure, she is a master at Manipulation.

  84. Lola says:

The French are ungrateful? WTF? I didn’t know France was desperate for a cash injection. Badly enough to sell their souls. Americans can be incredibly stupid. Only you think these two prats are a big deal.

  85. bros says:

enonoymouse, ill stop when you stop-you were all over xiaoecho in another post, so again, stop being a hypocrite. and no, you dont have a patent on making sense.

  86. Anni says:

wow lola. angelina is the reason why there´s still trouble in named countries?? i´d REALLY like to know your thoughts on your current president.

  87. Enonymous says:

bros, wow just wow. If you do not think I (and some of the other posters you so often criticize) make sense then maybe you are not intelligent enough to have a serious conversation with. Even though I got a little bit annoyed with you on my last post I still tried to be reasonable with you but if you still do not understand what you did wrong then, well like I always tell people that I have no interest to further deal with their neurotic stuff, I will no further comment to you or about you if you not comment about me. How about that, reasonable enough for you?

As for the xiaoecho conversation, I was never rude to her and things did not get personal, unlike with you, and it was not your place or business to get involved and start attacking people. Clear enough for you. End of conversation.

  88. daisy424 says:

Anni, don’t bother, Lola can’t see reason. It’s like arguing with a cat. 😉

  89. countrybabe says:

Pamela, get a grip. Also those stars you mentioned have only one kid not 6.
I think most people disregard 1 or 2 kid but 6 out of wedlock.
Bros I see your point but you can’t call in the paps when you want and turn it off when you want it does work like that.
Czarina, don’t worry they will move.

  90. Anni says:

lol daisy. i argued with my cat once and she just stared at me and then farted.

  91. Kaiser says:

    *diving in*

Barfy Lola, I thought you weren’t going to make any more comments on these two… why would you write that and go back on your word? Do you know this word “HIPPOCRAT” that you always scream at AJ & BP?

I can’t believe you guys are already drunk. *sober and pissed off*

Agree with Snowblood & Bros, etc. Also agree with Scott’s first post. Shoot the paps first, ask questions later. 🙂

  92. daisy424 says:

Anni, my dog does that too!

Countrybabe, I should have realized it before. You’re a scorned woman! That certainly explains your rancor. Your bible thumping comments are trite and give me a headache.

Lola, Calling American’s stupid? You crossed the line with that comment. You’re jealousy is transparent.

Where were you last night Kaiser, you missed the party.

  93. Kaiser says:

Hanging out with friends, Daisy. I should have known/sensed that somewhere The Brange needed defending from scurrilous charges. I should get a BADette beeper…

And when I argue with my dog, he just burps, not farts. I’m a little jealous of your cat, Anni!

  94. Anni says:

you should be. she can actually hold it until she lies on my pillow and farts me in the face.

  95. Anastasia says:

Let me just say here for reference purposes that “jamesbond” above who is being so nasty about Angelina, also apparently worships Paris Hilton (see Paris Hilton thread).

So take that for what it’s worth. 😆

And our lovely Lola confessed her love for Tom Cruise in the Madonna thread.

    So again, consider the sources.

  96. geronimo says:

I though everyone already knew of Lola’s love for Tom? For those that don’t, Lola REALLY loves Tom. Lola loves Tom so much that she has no love left for anyone else in her big generous heart. Tom gets all the Lola love. If you want to know how much Lola loves Tom, (some of you might need to sit down here) Lola loves Tom as much as she hates the J-Ps. No middle ground for our Lola.

But, once you know this about Lola, it makes her J-P bile that bit easier to understand since…*whispers*..she’s clearly not, how can I put it, all there…

  97. daisy424 says:

You forgot the Nicole Kidman thread, she bashes her in favor of Tom.

  98. pamela says:

    countrybabe,

If i remember correctly, Angie and Brad have been pregnant twice, and have three biological children, and although i hate stressing the difference, three adopted children. How does that equate to them having sic children out of wedlock?

And yes, if it is true that the locals are bitching about them calling the cops to investigate an altercation at their home, they are being ungrateful, bacause not too long ago they were the ones talking positively about them.

  99. Anni says:

what´s wrong with children out of wedlock anyways? a marriage guarantees NOTHING. partnerships last as long as they do. married or not. you can raise your kids to be good human beings, married or not. you can be cheated on, in an abusive relationship or facing other problems…married or not! there is no friggin difference. marriage does not make you a perfect person the second you say “i do” and everything is tulips and roses and nothing bad ever happens…

  100. pamela says:

    Anni,

    Very well said.

  101. Bodhi says:

Wow, I missed a good party!

Countrybabe, Mark Wallberg has at least 2 kids, maybe 3

This story seems like total bullshit. The entire freaking town was all about the family last week & now they don’t? The family has their own security team to patrol, etc. The only time they would need the cops would be if there was something the security detail couldn’t handle. Which I’m willing to bet is hardly anything.

  102. daisy424 says:

Hey Bodhi, you showed up 🙂
I thought you must have been busy with the wedding plans not to join us for a drink last night.

  103. Bodhi says:

Even better, an awesome free outdoor bluegrass show! But I certainly was drinking alot… 😆

  104. Ethan says:

Brangelina did the same thing to the locals in Namibia – but no one would write about their complaints.

Brangelina paid some bribes to the local government and shut down an entire beach and the natinal airport, so no journalists can enter the country.

They visit countries and exploit their resources in a selfish manner.

They are not even citizens of France and they are too cheap to hire more security?

Who asked them to rent such a huge castle if they can’t patrol around all their land?

It is also very cheap that their children have to earn them the money they give to charity.

Those children are mentioned in every interview and are “sold” like a brand.

Your children should not generate a third of your income.

    Brangelina has enough money.
They can give the money from their paycheck, they really shouldn’t use their children that way.

They come across as rather cheap from this story.

  105. James says:

I hope Brangelina has enough fans besides the few devoted posters on this blog to support their next project.

Because, from outsider’s points of views, Brangelina is not getting any good PR and is not doing any good movies. French people is right. Brangelina is not even their celebrity. They are just a pair of rich American couple who wants to have some European touch by buying/renting a chateau in south of France — which rich person on this planet doesn’t?

Actually I think their neighbors are probably richer and even more powerful than Brangelina. That’s why they have the power to reject your idols to move into their community, unlike Nambia citizens.

  106. Bodhi says:

    Riiight…

  107. bros says:

james and ethan WTF? what sprawling paranoid drivel. cause it makes so much sense that the machiavellian jolie pitts paid off all of namibia and shut down the national airport? are you reading oliver stone’s or hunter s thompson’s blogs? lay off the acid.

  108. hank says:

I wish i was reading Hunter s thompsons blog, but alas, he is no longer among us. However, although i do agree that the police exist to protect people, i also think that they do bring this on themselves. I know some of you do not think that Johnny Depp creates the frenzy that these two do, but it is solely due to the fact that he does not tolerate it. and his arrest record would display this. And, although not many care about his girlfriend in the US, she is a French singer and actress, so there, she is sort of a big deal. the jolie-pitts do some good things, but their insistence on publicizing it is making it seem like a put-on, even if it is not. Plus, anytime somebody is in the spotlight as much as these two automatically generate a backlash. They need to understand “distance makes the heart grow fonder” a little mystery goes a long way…

  109. Nan says:

Every post above has a little truth to it but Scott’s awareness of a secondary education is key.

  110. Snowblood says:

    Hunter S Thompson, what a genius…

It DOES kind of feel a little creepy, now, come to think of it, to read these impassioned epistles of black hatred for Anjelina Jolie, I mean her in particular, Brad Pitt appears to be merely guilty by association with her, but my god, such RANCour some people harbor against one of the planet’s most beautiful women! Hardcore hate. It’s kind of frightening. But, whatta ya gonna do, it takes all kinds to keep this world of humanity spinning. Takes all kinds…

  111. Suzie says:

  112. geronimo says:

I think they can make up their own minds about where they choose to live. And kids who get the opportunity of experiencing life in a variety of different countries could hardly be described as suffering. That all kids might suffer so. 🙄

  113. Sixxkitty says:

*hic ups* drunk but here to see how it ends…*hic*

  114. I choose me says:

Damn! Why am I always so frigging late to the party. Some great comments on here from Saturday to today. Anni and Snowblood you guys crack me up. I get what Scott F is saying in terms of none of us really knowing what celebs personalities are really like and the rest of his post is food for thought as well although I don’t agree with everything he said.

Damn, everybody’s getting nice and mellow and plastered without me. I feel so left out. 😥

Ooh just read bros post. Excellent points as well.
