Did she snort instead of shoot? Or shoot instead of smoke? Or smoke instead of snort? . . .

I love the bitch, but that’s really the only plausible explanation I can think of when I read the words, “Amy Winehouse” and “adverse reaction to a new drug” in the same sentence.

Well prescription drugs aren’t meant to be taken with street drugs, so it is possible the two did not mix well.

I wonder if the medication in question was disulfiram (aka Antabuse)? There are some pretty serious effects, up to and including convulsions and death, if you drink while taking it, which is why it is prescribed to alcoholics to help them avoid alcohol.

Amy’s PR are agents of Satan. Besides, she’s contracted for 3 more concerts, they’ll say she got stung by bees and had a reaction.

Well considering that alcoholics, especially bad ones who have been known to ignore treatment and flout rehabilitation, have a physical addiction to alcohol, it seems like a really bad idea to (if this is true) give a drug to an alcoholic that can cause convulsions and death when combined with alcohol.

I know this makes me a bad person, but I sort of laughed when I read that she’d been hospitalized for a “medication mix-up”. I’d buy this if by “medication” they mean “hard drugs” and by “mix-up” they mean “were consumed in massive quantities”.

You see, Xiao, my posts are at least sarcastically humorous, not line after line of obsessive minutiae and hateful invective- like yours.

Get your facts straight before I take a walk on you.

To anyone whose interested, there are far more effective drugs for alcoholism than Antabuse. There is Campral which helps with alcohol cravings taken in pill form. There is also Vivitrol that helps prevent frequency of drinking and blackouts taken once a month in shot form…I don’t think Antabuse is used much anymore.

I’ve learned here. Yes, X is totally stalker worthy. Why is she suprised? Her personality is so worthy. I’m sure this is not her first time. I’ve been stalked in real life & on the net. Weird thing is, on the net, it has always been women…before I even had a MySpace or Facebook. Had to make them private cause of the women stalkers.

The mix-up is called a speedball! I wonder, if she scratches herself to hide the heroin needle scars?

There is a drug-suboxone–used to treat opiate addiction but if you have opiates in your system when you take it it’s like drinking alcohol on antabuse–it happened to me–serious dope/sickness immediately–twitching, shitting, shaking, high anxiety–it was super embarrassing going to the ER and having everyone think like you guys–mean spirited judgemental people thinking I had od’d. I cannot imagine having to do it in front of millions of people and all of their opinions. God Bless this Girlllll.

I see she’s still mending her bras with a safety pin. I guess she doesn’t get out much during the day to go shopping. And I guess Marks wouldn’t exactly let her in anyway looking like that.

    Thanks for the insight, Cat.
I’m sorry if my making light of Miss Winehouse offended you – I can appreciate how difficult it is to overcome a powerful addiction, and how easy it is to regress to using again. I want Amy to sober up or scale it back as much as the next guy, but her plight reminds me of someone I used to love and his constant game of “shoots and ladders” with opiate use. My snark is only because I give a damn, not to pass judgment.
