Years ago, when i saw her the first time on TV, i was instantly in love. She’s just unbelieveable sexy. After reading some interviews with her, she got uglier in my mind.

I actually liked it that she is responsible enough to know her limits and thus will not have children until she can have more time and be more mature to be a parent.
I have no problem with her not liking a paparazi.
At least she hasn’t sent her guards to beat them up like the Brangelina did to protect their 11 million dollar profit of their babies.

Isn’t the “making everyone wear or do something so you’re the star” thing kind of standard? Sort of like the ugly bridesmaid dresses? Or the star getting a conspicuously different outfit than everyone else?
She should have given them more leeway in shades of brown though–that shade doesn’t suit all of them.

I am from the USA and you know, I’m really sick of all these people bitching about Avril Lavigne and hating on her. It’s one thing to not like her lyrics or dancing, but saying she has no talent for singing is just stupid. I mean is it just me, or does she have millions of fans and millions of dollars to go along with them proving how good of a singer she is. And all of you people saying you don’t like her because of how she treats paparazzi and what she says in interviews are stupid too. No one commenting on these blogs truly knows anything about Avril’s personality. She may come off with an “ugly” personality from her interviews and such, but has anyone ever considered the fact that she’s just being honest? Seriously, no one wants a bunch of news-reporting stalkers just waiting for you to leave your house so they can get their picture. Just because Avril isn’t some politically correct moron who tolerates the paparazzi doesn’t mean she’s a bad person. I completely agree with Temujin, even though he/she didn’t write much.

Avril is just as manufactured as Britney once was. She was originaly supposed to be a pop-country act, but after the Brit’s sucess, her management decided to cast her as the “Anti-Britney”. I think Avril Lavigne is GORGEOUS, and well I love her old music.. the CD ‘Under My Skin’ Or whatever.
Honestly I don’t like much of her new music unless I’m wanting to just dance and be crazy.
Her old music is a lot better though.
I really like Avril, and I think she’s an awesome singer.
All you people that say she’s another brittney/christina I don’t think that.

Avril Lavigne’s only remotely famous because she’s cute, just like the other two had become famous.
And really, I’ve seen her photographed on covers of SEVERAL of men’s magazines, and while they’re not Hustler photoshoots, they’re certainly not that modest either, especially for Mrs. Avril “Every Single Attractive and Popular Woman is a Slut” Lavigne.

I really liked her music before this last album. There’s some good songs, but some of them are just obnoxious. Teaming up to duet with a female rapper? Stupid! There’s nothing wrong with her wearing pink and being girly, but I think having BACK-UP dancers is very pop and goes way too far. I also think her videos have gone more in the Christina Aguilera direction and I would not consider her pop-rock so much as pop now. Her videos, (like Christina’s) LOOK great, but they’re missing that point, plot, and depth.
I do love her voice though and she is undeniably gorgeous. The other thing i really like about her is that she’s not afraid to talk sh*t about people she doesn’t like or respect (ashley simpson, hilary duff)and she doesn’t whine about being famous and having papparazzi follow her everywhere, she hates people like that.
the clothing line for young girls though? baaaad idea; who is she, f-ing hannah montana??

I don’t like pop music, but at the same time I don’t really mind that backup dancers and costumes are involved. It’s the delusion that these pop stars will deny up and down (I’m looking at you, Christina Aguilera and Pink) what they are just because they paint their nails black or put 9 million holes in their faces. I think I can hand a little more to Britney Spears because she never gave a flying fuck about selling out, or changing her image/identity every five seconds to outdo competition. It’s annoying what Avril, Christina, and Pink do.
And we’ve established for the eight millionth time that Avril’s pretty, but she’s nothing special. I don’t know how hard it is to refrain from (I’m looking at you, men) gushing about her alleged “hotness” when you can step outside and see at least a dozen girls who look exactly like Avril Lavigne. You’re straight, superficial, and boring. We get it.
Blah blah blah Avril’s not afraid to say what’s on her mind. Well, when I was 12, I could attack Britney Spears and Hilary Duff too. It really grates my nerves when people say stuff like “OMG SHE’S SO BRAVE FOR TALKING OUT AGAINST BRITNEY!” because if you consider all of her “opponents”, not one of them have a reputation of kicking your ass. I wish she’d finally insult the wrong person and they’d knock a few teeth out.
There’s a difference between having an opinion and being obnoxious about it, and she crossed that thin red line a long time ago. Maybe she should stop focusing on bashing Britney Spears and Hilary Duff, and start growing the fuck up and focusing on her own shit.
Also, is it possible we can discuss the topic at hand without bringing up Britney Spears or Amy Winehouse? That’s getting old too.

Ok, honestly, I don’t listen to her often, every once in a while I find a song of hers I like. But I’d like to ask a question to all of the people that say she’s not punk.
Can you tell me, what exactly is punk?
I mean, no one ever said “if you’re going to be punk, you have to give up all originality…” She’s punk, but she adds her own style to it. She switches it up. And who really gives a heck if you “know 15 year olds more punk than her”…did she ever say “oh yeah, I’m the most punk person who ever existed”? NO. In my opinion, the hair dye thing is stupid. Who cares. They knew they’d have to do dumb stuff in order to be the backup dancer for a big star. Seriously.
Stop sticking to your dumb high school stereotypes, and get out into the world. Experience a different kind of person than your strict emos who all look exactly the same, your strict preps who all look exactly the same…step out, grow up.
And as for her music, obviously people love it, because she’s a millionaire. I don’t go ragging on all the people you love just because I DON’T.
Oh and by the way, since she’s such a poser and you’re such a (judgmental) expert, lets see you pick up a guitar, write a song like that, get up on stage in front of millions of people and perform it. If the backups had any complaints about dying their hair brown they could have quit the show. But they went along with it and stayed on. Time to put up and sing.
otoh, Avril could let her natural color grown out and have the backups dye their hair grey – they all look a bit aged and tired.

I don’t personally love her music, and I know I don’t know her, I’m just saying, it really kind of annoys me, no matter who it is that people are talking about, when they start getting overly abusive about it. She was noticed by the CEO of Arista records, Antonia “L.A.” Reid, because of her singing with Steve Medd, and from there moved from the country – that somebody had mentioned – she was first interested in, to wanting to put out a rock record. She ahd four charting singles, a multi-platinum album, – oh and just by the way, I would fuly say her music was skate-punk, and that she was indeed very edgy at the time, – and became the youngest female musician to have a number one album in the U.K.
That’s why she’s big.
And in modern days, Girlfriend topped the charts, as did her latest album.

You haters make me sick. On the Internet you can find many live-videos by Avril. In the most of them she sings fantastic. Have you ever watch some of these videos or visit her concerts? If not, why do you say she can ´t sing? She sings way better than Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Shakira, Hayley Wiliams, Hillary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Demi Lovato, Katy Perry, Madonna or Ashlee Simpson.
