Since you were cool enough to ask though, I'll try to answer. Side airbags - dunno much about them. Only saw like 2 accidents ever with cars that had them, and both times the bags deployed even though it was a head-on collision and not a side-swipe. I've heard they can break bones and dislocate shoulders if they deploy during a rear-end or head-on collision. Seatbelts - Hell YES they can hurt you in small accidents. That's one thing I've always wanted car companies to just come out and admit. My brother was read-ended sitting still at a red light and his seatbelt caused his body to bend at a bad angle and he couldn't move his neck for 6 months. The other guy had no insurance, my bro had to sue HIS insurance company because they tried to say he was faking it for disability.
