I don’t think we ever got around to using any “exclusive” photos of Nicole Richie’s wedding, so here is the cover of the German tabloid that Nicole ended up selling her wedding photos to. If you’d like to see more shots, go here to Jezebel. They’re actually rather nice – I like Nicole’s dress because so few celebrities choose long-sleeved gowns these days. Anyway, Nicole appeared on The Talk yesterday, her first television interview since getting hitched. I’m slightly confused by what she said, though:
On Tuesday’s The Talk, newlywed Nicole Richie, 29, dished on her wedding, marriage and whether she and Joel Madden, 31, will add to their brood.
After four years as a couple, Richie admitted that married life has its own quirks.
“It’s different because I know I can get away with more,” she said. Asked if she would elaborate, Richie replied: “I haven’t tested him yet.”
Richie was a bit cagey on whether her children Sparrow, 1, and Harlow, 2, would get a baby brother or sister anytime soon. “I don’t think it’s fair to ask someone that’s had two back-to-back if they’re going to have another one,” she said. “You never know.”
With two toddlers running around and an elaborate wedding under her belt, she is sure of one thing: “I need a nap.”

Is Nicole saying “It’s different because I know I can get away with more” regarding having more kids, or is that statement just about her marriage? I think it’s just about her marriage, and that she means that she’s not worried about Joel dumping her over something small anymore, thus she can “get away with more.” But it’s a weird way to say it, right? Nicole is so weird.

This girl has no business being famous; I mean, what was she, Paris Hilton’s drug addicted sidekick? This is where pop culture takes a bizarre wrong turn in my opinion.
I adore this couple – from those first grainy pics of them on a beach I was all like – there is one of my fav celeb couples!
Joel stayed with Nicole after she drove the wrong way down a freeway high on drugs. So, I don’t think she has to worry about him leaving anytime soon.

The dress is gorgeous. It is nice to see a glamorous gown. Plus she is tiny and can carry off this dress.
I am so tired of all the tits out strapless gowns that have invaded the bridal market.
I have watched that bridal show (TLC??) where the truly obnoxious brides are trying on truly unfortunate looking dresses.
And most of them want the strapless, let my tits hang out with my arm fat, wedding dress.
The wedding was covered by Hello magazine in the UK, I was going to buy it then flicked through and thought ew at the various dresses she had on (yes there were several changes) and to be truthful I thought the dresses looked trashy, I was hoping for better since she is quite a fashionista.

I totally agree with you. I usually like Nicole’s style, but the weird cut-outs, the pasted together sleeves, the names embroidered into the lace, the buttons going down her exposed back that made her look like her spine was going to open up and reveal a surprise. UGH. It was awful. The dresses were over the top tacky. The whole wedding was tacky… I think it was circus themed? Anyway, the I will say that the cut-outs at the chest and back were the worst part. The cut out on her chest looked like it was there simply to expose her protruding clavical and rib cage, while the one on her back highlighted her angel wing tattoos and her bones. Unflattering. Also – that hair style is far too severe. Nicole is not Grace Kelly. It’s not working with her facial structure, she looks much better with her hair down, or in a loose updo.
I have never really liked her. Something is just off with her. She was friends with Paris Hilton. (That says everything about her.) Her comment was strange and a shitty thing to say on a talk show.
Nicole has a quirky sense of humor. She meant they are committed for life and won’t be dumped if she’s a little bitchy, whatever. But I think she probably said it with a laugh and twinkle in her eye.
I thought Harlow was older than 2. I guess I’m just getting old, lol

Yeah I’m not diggin the dress. It was too dated and too lacy. You didn’t have to work out daily to wear that!
Dont like the dress but love the couple and the kids.
She tried to go for a modern Grace Kelly look…. but instead duckface looks like she escaped a tutu explosion and was feathered on her way out. On the bright side, her son is cute.
How much more can she get away with? Joel already allowed her to name their son Sparrow.
@padiddle: I think Harlow just turned 3 or is about to. My son’s birthday is next week and I remember them being born around the same time. (Why I remember that I don’t know-lol)
Wow, that’s an odd thing to say when you just got married!
Getting married is about being able to be your true self with the other person, only compromising on few but crucial things: it doesn’t seem different from just living together, but it is. I get the feeling men sort of don’t expect that and freak out when they find out what they’re going to have to deal with for the rest of their lives. We’ll see how this turns out.
I think she means, getting away with it by saying “hey now I’m your wife, not a girlfriend” – The rules are now change for them both. Now he has to come home and be the husband for real this time.
You know some men would say you can’t tell me what to do etc, unless we married etc. Nicole has the Wife Card she can use it now. Congrats! ^_^

I saw her on “the Talk” for the second time in what a month(?)Talk about ass-kissy-ness (my new favorite word),the way they promote her “busy career”. Last month she was an author,this month a clothes designer and environmental activist.
Her over-the-top,demure,lady- like,tiny,delicate,soft-spoken,easy-going act is hard for me to buy. She will always be the screaming,spoiled,crass,rough,dis-respectful trash that she was on the Simple Life.

i dont think its weird, you can get away with more in a long relationship, for example waking up looking all scrubby in your comfy clothes with your hair all over the place, or burping loud and not having to be so embarrassed, whatever it may be it’s true
