Nicole Kidman interviewed by Jennifer Aniston for Harper’s Bazaar

kidman3

Nicole Kidman is the cover girl for the February issue of Harper’s Bazaar. I guess Kidman is jointly promoting Rabbit Hole, and her smaller part in Just Go With It, the Adam Sandler comedy also starring Jennifer Aniston. Aniston conducts Kidman’s Q & A for the magazine. Oh, you know it’s going to be good. Just wait. The ass-kissy-ness of the interview is intense, and they are both falling all over each other. Also, Nicole is particularly awkward when Aniston asks about Nicole’s adopted children with Tom. The full Bazaar piece is here, and here are some of the extensive highlights:

Aniston remembers: “I remember the first time I met Nicole Kidman. We were at a Golden Globes party in 2005 and–typical Hollywood story–we share an agent. I remember meeting this tall, beautiful woman who was there with her mom and dad. I was completely starstruck, while she was nothing but gracious. Nicole had just seen one of my rom-coms, as they call them, and was instantly kind and complimentary. I loved her immediately. We’ve run into each other over the years, keeping in touch. But it was Adam Sandler, of all people, who brought us together in Hawaii to film the comedy Just Go With It. Now not only do I have a dear friend, I can’t see myself dancing the hula with any other gal.”

Jennifer Aniston: Good lord, I just saw Rabbit Hole. No wonder you went running wildly into the arms of Adam Sandler in Hawaii. I would run as fast as I could just to … I don’t know, laugh? I don’t know how you walked through a movie about the death of a child, quite honestly. How did you do it?
Nicole Kidman: I don’t know. As soon as we got the rights to make the film, I was terrified. But I have that relationship with everything I do. I want it, then I get it, and then I don’t want it. I’ve worked like that my whole life. So yeah, Maui was definitely a breather.

JA: You are like the Secretariat of actresses–when I see your body of work and everything you have achieved. But in the midst of all these unbelievable roles, I forgot how funny you can be.
NK: I know, you kept saying to me that I was funny, and I was like, Really? I never get asked to do comedy! I get asked more to do the Rabbit Hole stuff. But I remember doing SNL with Adam Sandler years ago, and he said to me, “I want to make you funny in a film one day.”

JA: What attracts you to a project? What’s the key element that has to be there?
NK: Usually something strange. It’s a little weird or offbeat or very uncomfortable. I have to be convinced to do things that are more mainstream. As a kid, I was always a bit, I suppose, darker. I was drawn to things that were unusual. And that’s partly to do with my parents. My mom’s always questioned things, wanted us not to conform. So, with roles, I like to be in a place of discomfort. I do my best work in the most complicated roles. I don’t have the capacity to be lighter, and I so wish I did. I’m working on it. And I don’t get offered stuff that I go, Wow, I can’t wait to do that. But so much of that is about your life partner, the person who has held you in their arms at night, who has helped you through things. You’ve given to them, and you’ve seen them get their dreams. … When I won it, I gave it to my mom. She gave me the confidence to go after things. She would listen to me when I thought it was all over. She’s been my rock. So to be able to give her that was my way of saying thank you to her.

JA: I feel awkward getting into interviewer mode, but tell me about your life in Nashville with Keith [Urban] and Sunday Rose. How long have you now lived there?
NK: Five years.
JA: I was just down South in Georgia, and it was heaven to be away from all the irritation of the cameras and all that hubbub. Was moving to Nashville something that both you and Keith wanted to do?
NK: It was perfect timing, because I had nowhere to live. I was living out of suitcases when I met Keith. I suppose in the back of my mind I was waiting to meet somebody. And I wanted it to be that if that person didn’t live in New York or Los Angeles, I would be able to move. In the back of my head, I was thinking I may have to put my roots down somewhere. I was going to move to Oregon.
JA: Oregon? It’s gorgeous. I understand that absolutely.
NK: Yeah. I love living a ways away. That’s what I’ve worked for in my career, to not have to live in Los Angeles. So it was fortuitous that Keith happened to live in Tennessee. He brought me down to this place called Leipers Fork, just outside of Nashville, very lush and rural. I just went aaah. You know how you dream as a girl; I’m one of those people. I would meet a guy, then I would imagine myself married and with kids within the first hour. [Laughs] But it worked out.

JA: When you two first met, Keith said he saw you walk into the room and you just floated. Yes, I watched him on Oprah! Did you feel it as instantly as Keith felt it?
NK: I remember thinking, Oh, my God, if you ever gave me a man like that, I promise I would be completely devoted for the rest of my life. Something that wild. I remembered praying after I met him that I’d meet somebody, if not him, like him.

JA: He’s a total sweetheart. I remember him bringing you Chinese food on set, being such a good husband while we were all being silly and playing with coconuts. I’m so inspired by how you navigate this exquisite career and how you’ve incorporated this wonderful, beautiful family. I bow to it; I aspire to it. But it’s a big bite to chew. How has having kids changed you from your 20s to now?
NK: I had kids at 25 and 27 [Isabella and Connor, Nicole’s adopted children with first husband Tom Cruise]. I think I have more patience now but less physical energy. It’s a trade-off: In your 20s, you’re bounding around, they’re attached at your hip, and you can just go and do anything. But I’m much more of a homebody now. My roots are deeper. I probably have way more mental energy and a lot less physical energy, if that makes sense.

JA: What’s your biggest concern as they go through their teenage years?
NK: I think it’s finding their bliss. You’ve got to find your bliss as a human being, because if you can follow that, everything else falls into place. So that’s what I wish for them. That means careerwise and just the essence of who we are as people.

JA: Did you always want to act?
NK: I think I did. Did you?
JA: Yeah, I did. It was my family; I came from it too. It looked like so much fun.
NK: For me, it was never going to be work. It was almost like I needed to have a day job, because this was too much fun. But I was a highly sensitive child, and the last thing my parents wanted was for their child to go in and get hurt.

JA: What do you think is the hardest thing about being an actor?
NK: Fame. It’s a great thing in the sense of the opportunities it gives you, but you don’t realize that you’re dancing with the 100-pound gorilla.
JA: Yeah, it turns from Glinda the Good Witch into the nasty green one, then back to Glinda again.
NK: Most actors are highly sensitive people, but you have this incredible scrutiny. You have to develop a thick skin, but you can’t have a thick skin in your work. So it’s that constant push-pull of going, How do I stay human and vulnerable and real, and how do I, at the same time, not let all this affect me? I suppose it’s the same when you’re at school and you get a taste of girls who are being mean. It’s the same thing, just at a bigger level.
JA: Absolutely. People can be supportive and then turn around and be so mean.
NK: But at the same time, we’re in an extraordinary place, and to complain about it you go, Ugh, move on.
JA: You speak the truth, my friend.

JA: Okay, let me just say this: Physically, you are a masterpiece.
NK: Excuse me, you wear a bikini in the film and you look like you’re 20 years old.
JA: I think that’s Vaseline on the lens.
NK: You are a freak of nature. You have the best body I’ve ever seen. And I’m a heterosexual girl. You look good morning, noon, and night.
JA: Oh, please. I live in jeans and flip- flops. A good tank top, a great pair of jeans, and a great little wedge to give me a couple inches more that my dad didn’t give me. Otherwise, I get kind of stumped. I see people walking through New York City and go, Wow, that’s a great idea, why didn’t I think of that? But, Nicole, you always have that smart look. It’s very Annie Hall. I love it.
NK: I like boy-girl looks. I have no sense of what’s fashionable; I just know what I like to wear. I don’t believe in something being in and out. You know those lists? That probably goes along with the whole way I live my life. I don’t like kind of changing with the wind; I like sticking to my own self.
JA: You wear L’Wren Scott a lot, right?
NK: L’Wren’s collection, basically, I can wear. I don’t have time to look through things. I used to be far more into that when I was in my early 20s, but I just don’t have the interest anymore.
JA: If it looks good, the last thing you want to do is try on 10 couture somethings.
NK: Yeah, Renée Zellweger said she’s just not interested in having loads of designers make dresses for her; it feels gluttonous. That is so right. It’s not the place to be, particularly in your 40s.

JA: Another interviewer question: Has Nashville changed the way you dress?
NK: No, not really.
JA: C’mon, you can tell me. You have a cowboy hat hiding in that closet.
NK: I don’t wear cowboy hats. I think they’re cute. I sometimes put one on with a bikini, but it’s a particular look. I like a cowboy hat on Sunday Rose.
JA: Does Keith buy you clothes?
NK: Yeah, and he buys me lingerie.
JA: Nice! Did you have to train him for your taste?
NK: Ha! I don’t train him for anything. That’s what I love; he’s just got his own way of being.

NK: I like to ask people if they would rather have a great love that lasts a lifetime or an amazing career where you go down in history. Some people do answer that they want an extraordinary career.
JA: I know what I would choose. That’s a no-brainer. I would choose the love of my life.
NK: And what would you tell the 20-year-old you?
JA: I would tell myself to have more fun; enjoy this. There was a lot of unnecessary angst. You may as well enjoy things. You’re going to turn 30. Are you going to dread it? No, it’s happening. This is awesome! Don’t worry about something going away; enjoy it while it’s happening. And don’t worry about something that’s not even real.

JA:You said when you won the Oscar for The Hours in 2003, it was such a lonely time for you.
NK: Yeah. It’s strange how life gives you the best and the worst. I was probably at my least happy when I won it. And I was single. It was a strange time….

JA: Do Isabella and Connor come down to Nashville a lot?
NK: No, they don’t. They’re not crazy about Nashville. They’re so grown up now. I mean, they’re adults.

JA: You are in such an amazing place now. What do you think you would tell your 20-year-old self?
NK: That you’re going to meet the love of your life. My whole thing, my whole thrust in life, was hoping I would.

[From Harper’s Bazaar]

I mean… there are too many gems in here to even single them out. I LOVE that Aniston says that she wants what Keith and Nicole have, considering that at its heart, what Keith and Nicole have is a business arrangement. I love the mutual ass-kissing about their bodies. I also like that Aniston doesn’t get the signal to stop asking about Isabella and Connor, and BRINGS THEM UP AGAIN. I love that Nicole says Keith buys her lingerie. That image is incredible. Sigh… I’m going to pour through this again and again.

  1. Marjalane says:

“Do Conner and Isabella come down to Nashville often?”

“No, they’re not crazy about me. They’re grown ups now and see me for the nasty bitch I am”

There. Fixed it for you, Nicole.

  2. brin says:

Wow, guess I’m naive, Kaiser but I don’t see Nicole & Keith’s marriage as a business deal (compared to some other celebs, anyway). She looks the best I’ve seen her in a while, too.

  3. Samigirl says:

…this is very ass-kissy. I lol’ed…a bunch. Also, I want that raspberry colored dress. Holy hell.

  4. mymy says:

Not bad. She looks lovely. Back to her red hair. Her blond was awful. You really hate Jen. I find it beyond juvenile. She can never do anything without your hating on her.Try to lighten up in the coming New Year. You can still love you girl without hating on Jen
I see the truth hurts and will not be posted. Thin skin much?

  5. malachais says:

Business arrangement? I hadn’t look at their relationship that way. I sort of like Nicole, but I hoped Keith would have settled down with someone that isn’t so famous and normal. Nicole seems a bit self-absorbed imo but this was a great and honest interview.

  6. Hautie says:

The red hair is a keeper. I do not understand why she hates to keep her hair, a beautiful shade of auburn.

I like to think that Nicole and Jennifer are friends.

Simply cause you know Cruise never allowed Nicole to socialize with anyone during that marriage. Unless he was under foot monitoring what she said.

And Nicole struck me as a girl that needed a friend.

She married young. Got trapped in a house, with only his cult hanging around. This is a girl that missed getting to have adult friendship with people who were not spying on her.

And I tend to thing Cruise stopped those children from seeing Nicole.

Sadly, I am beginning to wonder when the Bella (older daughter) will write her tell all book.

She looks like she is not enjoying her home life with her father either.

  7. Jayna says:

How odd. I was living out of a suitcase. What about a home for your children. You at one time had half custody. All of the excited about moving to Oregon or moving away. Her kids were tweens then. I adore Nicole, but whatever disconnect happened with her and her children, she should have fought to be more in their lives. It’s very obvious that they’re estranged. She keeps saying they’re adults. They’re not adults. And no way Tom kept those children from her. She to this day says he’s a great person.

I love her honesty about wanting to find love and the most important thing for her. I love her red hair so much.

  8. Ruby Red Lips2 says:

LOL Marjalane, that made me (sadly) giggle – sadly because it sounds like the truth

Can’t stand NK or even JA for that matter

  9. Riley says:

I kind of feel bad for her regarding Connor and Isabella. On the one hand, you can argue that she, as their mother, should do everthing in her power to have a close and loving relationship with them no matter how crazy Tom is. Any mother who truly loves her children would do that. But on the other, we do not know the whole story. I wonder if she ever had custody of them, even when she was married to Tom Cruise. TC is such a controlling nut so there is no telling how he has used his magical powers to twist, manipulate, and destroy Nicole’s relationship with Connor and Isabella.

  10. Bill Hicks is God says:

What a painful read: “the Secretariat” of actresses (she compares her to a horse?) and she’s “physically magnificent,” (“now compliment ME!”) cripes, Aniston is so profoundly numb. She sounds like a kid doing an interview for a highschool newspaper.

    “Nice!” “Amazing!” “Oh Please!”

Apparently expansion of her vocabulary beyond grade 9 wasn’t a priority.

  11. Bunny says:

I can see them sitting together Jennifer flicking her hair (annoying habit of hers), while Nicole sits there with no visible expression on her face.

  12. Lisa Turtle says:

    UGH. Gag. Bleh.

This reminds me of something my psychology professor said: Almost all celebrities have personality disorders. Personality disorders are partially genetic, and partially environmental, and can be triggered by certain experiences – power, fame, a quick accumulation of wealth.

Here we have a classic example of Narcississtic PD, “woe is me!” Aniston and Borderline PD “I want what I can’t have” Kidman. And BOTH have Histrionic PD!

    Yay for Mental Health!

  13. Mia135 says:

I don’t understand why magazines like to put actors to interview other actors in the first place. These types of inteviews ALWAYS come across as extremely boring and nothing else but simple ass-kissing.

First of all, none of these actors are too smart, and lack the journalistic edge and acumen to ask really interesting questions that would keep readers involved.
Secondly, it’s obvious they aren’t going to ever ask anything too controversial, and it will mostly be lots of sucking up and fake compliments, because the acting world is so tiny and they might all have to work together one day.

  14. fanny says:

I enjoyed this article and felt like a fly on the wall. I, too, give JA credit for doing a great interview and for coming back to Connor and Isabella. Nicole seemed a little detached from them but maybe that’s because, like most teens, they’re mostly interested in their friends and where they live with Tom who happens to be one of my favorite actors. Nicole looks beautiful (like a shining star) and so happy. I believe their relationship is real. But the importance she gives to meeting “the love of her life” seems overly romanticized. Many woman get disappointed in the end and need to find “bliss” within themselves.

  15. Cheyenne says:

This interview is one of the best remedies for insomnia I ever saw in my life.

  16. original kate says:

i agree with hautie that tom cruise tends to keep his wives on a short leash, and nicole did look so lonely when they were together – kind of like the way katie looks now. glad to see nic is back to the beautiful red hair – i hate when she dyes it that urine color. why?

  17. Stronzilla says:

JA: You are like the Secretariat of actresses

Did Aniston really get away with comparing Kidman to a horse?

  18. LOVE ANGELINA says:

It was kinda awkward…not really the interview or anything just knowing who Nicole has previously hung around and suddenly Aniston is hanging around to. Its a superficial thing I know but its just until their film with Adam comes out.

I also think Keith and Nicole genuinely love each other.

  19. RitaRoooRita says:

Nicole is just a sweet soul it seems, and quirky. Jennifer is fun and self-deprecating — real. This is a great interview on both of their parts.

The photos of Nic are sublime.

  20. Jazz says:

Love that hair colour on her.

  21. neelyo says:

I always thought Julia Roberts was the Secretariat of actresses.

I have always loved Kidman. I hope RABBIT HOLE signals a resurgence in her career.

  22. Vi says:

    business deal? what’s that about.

the ass kissing was disgusting. i’m always surprised how NK never lies about seeing her kids. she’s always like “yeah they never come see me.” etc. i subscribe to the Tom is jedi mind controlling the kids and blackmailing Nicole theory and this is the only kind of remark she can put out there without pretending that they’re happy families.

  23. RHONYC says:

i love how open about her past hurts, loneliness and vulnerability she is.

she seems misunderstood by the media.

    very sensitive, yes.

    stuck-up & cold, no.

    🙂

  24. Jackson says:

Hmm. For the six seconds I just spent contemplating their marriage, I don’t see it as a business arrangement. Are there stories floating around out there about them? I hope not – I like her and she seems happy. Looks fabulous. And to all the little famewhores who pretend to hate the spotlight and photogs following them all around everywhere, note what NK said: that something she worked for in her career was to *not* have to live in LA. And she still manages to do just fine in her career.

  25. someone says:

Im a fan of them both..the public will never know what happened in Nic and Toms marriage and divorce..Im not going to speculate..Im glad she seems to be really happy with Keith..I don’t agree with the “buisness deal”..not even sure what that means..they have a child together. They seem to be good friends, thats always good.

  26. sharylmj says:

This interview is interesting.. I don’t think they are BEST friends, but you can tell they have spent some time together.. And Nicole and Keith’s marriage isn’t a business arrangement. They seem too real to me and Keith’s emotions for Nicole are apparent in his music. He’s not an actor.. I think Nicole looks and sounds the best she ever has..

  27. Josephina says:

Nicole looks really good in the photos. I would describe her as a graceful beauty.

And yes, I am surprised that these two are friends. Nicole is implying that she can relate to Aniston on a number of levels. Before this interview, I thought they were very different in character.

I was not aware that Tom has/had custody of the two kids who are now teenagers. You can tell that she does not see them as often as she would like. She now has a toddler on her hands to keep her busy, but hopefully she can gain a closer relationship with her older children in the near future.

Mark Kidman down as another one who stands by her man. She says Keith is the love of her life.

  28. Jayna says:

I guess Bella is 18 now or almost 19. I wonder if she is going to go to college or what. The last photos I’ve seen of her this past year and a half Bella has ballooned up in weight and cut her hair off very matronly looking, not stylish. Tom is so into being together, physically fit, the best you can be, blah, blah, I wonder what he thinks about that.

  29. Johnny Depp's Girl says:

    I actually liked the interview.

Though JA did a better job being an interviwer instead of interviewee.

I do like them both. So, I enjoyed the article.

  30. Tess says:

    Interesting turn of events.

First celebs replaced models on mag covers.

Then they began testifying during Congressional hearings because they were deemed experts after appearing in movies about farms, etc. Of course the “journalists” never pointed out that an incredibly laughable circus was being played out on the nightly news.

Now the celebs are doing the journalists’ bit inside the mags.

I know it’s true that the media as we know it is an endangered species, but I didn’t know it was flirting with suicide.

  31. gloriaad says:

This article is a good example of why people cannot stand Jennifer Aniston, her bomb movies and lack luster career, another apportunity to self-promote using someone else’s illustrious career. Still feeding on her Ex’s name Brad Pitt,Babara streissand’s look-alike photo-up, now Nicole Kidman anything for attention and publicity. JA is one annoying little bug.

  32. samihami says:

Oh, please. “Business arrangement?” Is that the best you can come up with? Actors are people, too, and no doubt want a home and family to come home to at the end of the day, just like many “ordinary” people. She already had a craptacular marriage previously-I’m sure she would’ve stayed single rather than go for anything less than the real thing.

  33. Ally says:

The celeb-interviewing-celeb thing started in Interview magazine, right? I think the mags like it cause they get 2 stars to interest the punters, instead of 1, but mainly because both will be more relaxed than around a journalist and spill more juicy quotes.

It was quite a nice dig to clearly imply that Cruise was not the love of her life, even before she met Urban. I thought the second marriage was an arrangement too at first, but it’s been years, and when you move from Hollywoodland to Nashville and stay there, I think it has to be real!

I think the biggest fib in there has got to be about Renee Zellwegger not wanting to be sent racks of designer dresses. LMAO.

  34. ab says:

nicole’s raspberry colored dress is the same (only different color)as what kim kardashain is wearing for her recent glamour photo op!

  35. Cyui says:

If they were such great friends why wasn’t Nicole at her 40th birthday party. Aniston just made her attempt to collect Nicole as her friend and it really didnt workout. I’m sorry….Nicole going on about her love life, not ever wanting to live in L.A. not complaining about being dissed on in Hollywood, her love for her Mother, and saying her Mother taught her never to conform (which is what Aniston’s whole life is about) it’s like all I’m reading are a bunch of jabs towards Aniston. Not intentional or maybe Nicole caught the Secretariat bit…lol. Maybe Nicole is trying to teach people out there watching to run from the superficiality of Hollywood. Nicole and Keith are really beautiful and seem like soul mates. He just adores her and she him. They are in love. As far as her adopted children go….let me ask you people something? If you had children that were teenagers, trying to be independen and have a life, would you tell all their business. Would you say what you need to to keep the paparazzi at bay. If she said they are there all the time the paps would come out in hives. What she’s doing must be working, cause I have no idea about her oldest kids personal lives. Who knows where those kids are at. Tom is running around shooting films and so is Katie. I hardly ever see either one if those kids. If she kept them hidden when they were young, why do you think shed be telling all about them now. Shocker, but I think Nicoles main focus is to protect them from the outside world. Anyway she’s stunning and just a doll.

  36. Gwen says:

She looks great in the photos. Keep the red hair Nicole!

  37. Cyui says:

Oh yeah and the Renee comment, another comment about not being uppity…..which Aniston is a level 11 snob. Nicole has everything a lady could want great family and career. Aniston has none of this…lol.

  38. Kazoo81 says:

i love, love, love her red hair. i wish she’d always keep it red.

  39. Mota says:

    @marjalane

    Right on!

For her, children are good for interviews — it makes her look like she cares about something other than herself.

Regarding her hair. The reason she went blonde was because she is completely grey and balding. She has geriatric hair. Put “nicole kidman” and “thinning hair” and yoy will see her real hair. What she has on the magazine are wigs. Many people have commented that her geriatric hair is due to anorexia or bulimia. Notice in all her candid shots that her eyes are always bloodshot. Sign of bulimia.

I’m kind of an expert on anoerxia and bulimia b/c a close friend of mine died from it. It was absolutely heart wrenching for me and her family.

  40. Anti-icon says:

This interview (didn’t read the original) is really good to me. Both women seem like the same young women that I followed along with all those years (it was their dumb ass husbands and marriages, LOL).

Maybe it’s because they felt comfortable with each other — I do like it when a celeb interviews another…..it does indeed show if they are giving “canned” answers; or heart-felt.

  41. redlips says:

Well of course it is a “painful read”. Neither one of them claims to have a degree journalism and I doubt it was intended to be a serious read!

I enjoyed reading it as, It gave some insight into the Cruise/Kidman marriage. I believe “scientology” tore them apart and is probably the reason Kidman has nothing to do with her adopted children now. They chose that course! Her marriage to Keith certainly does NOT sound like a business arrangement. Quite the opposite!

If something is boring you and putting you to sleep, why continue to read it?

  42. lucy2 says:

Nicole is looking better – she’s so pretty when she keeps the red hair and avoids the botox. She is a good actress too, I hope her career slump is over.
Agree with Mia #13 about these celebrity/celebrity interviews being boring and ass-kissy.

I don’t know much about Nicole and Keith, but they seem for real to me, I don’t get the business arrangement thing at all. More and more I think Nicole was never really allowed to be a mother to those kids. I picture them being adopted to promote Tom’s image, but raised by his family or Scientos. It seems really sad.

I imagine she and Jen got along well during filming, but I don’t picture them as close friends.

  43. Leonie says:

@Mota – if bloodshot eyes are a deadset giveaway for bulimia, I must be purging in my sleep! For me, bloodshot eyes = irritated eyes due to contacts. No more, no less. It doesn’t really seem fair to put her and an eating disorder together based on that and thinning hair.

As for the hair – if her naturally curly hair is anything like mine, she may well have very fine hair that tends to shed like it’s spring all year round. And let’s not even mention the amount of abuse at the hand of bleach her poor hair has had to endure.

Having said that, I do hope she’ll keep dying it fiery red 🙂

  44. Raised brow says:

You left off the part of the interview where Jennifer berates Nicole for turning down the role opposite Brad Pitt in ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’. AWKWARD!!!

  45. Mota says:

    @leonie,

What about her rail thin frame? For years?

If you don’t think this woman doesn’t have an eating disorder, then I suppose you think she actually birthed Sunday Rose.

  46. Mota says:

    @Raised Brow

    Hilarious!

  47. Cyui says:

Look I know you people absolutely no lives of your own and need to come up with stuff in regards to celebs that seem to be doing well, but you don’t live with this woman so you have no idea what her relationship with her kids is like. So shut it down. Get help. Nicole is 6’0 …very easy to stay thin. She’s gained weight in the last couple of years. Looks great.

JUST CAUSE YOU KNEW SUPPOSEDLY NEW someone who DIED OF BULIMIA doesn’t make you an expert…..stop being jealous cause you’re not gorgeous like her.

  48. RHONYC says:

she was nude in ‘dead calm’ (my fave) and ‘eyes wide shut’ and i didn’t see any of her ribcage or backbones like alot of poor a.n. sufferers so i disagree.

secondly, in e.w.s. you see nic’s got a bit of an ass on her and some great shaped gams. again, not indicative of that disease. i always thought of her frame that of a natural ‘ballet dancer’ body. don’t hate.

thirdly, the reason why her hair was thinning was no doubt due to years of what i call ’emotional hair coloring’.

poor thing wanted to distance herself from looking anything like the ginger-goddess that got dumped by douche cruise.

that goodness she stopped and went back to red, it’s like she’s her old self again. now if she’d just stop straightening & go back to that wild crazy ‘fro…

    lol 😉

  49. Eve says:

    @ Raised Brow:

    LMAO too.

Sometimes I come here just for the comments.

  50. I Choose Me says:

Eh, thought the inteview was okay, minus the ass kissing. I’m more interested in that lovely wine coloured dress Nicole is wearing. Oh an NK should definitely stick to her natural red tresses. She looks great in these photos.

  51. Mota says:

    Now, now …..

Nicole herself says she only 5’10”. So that must be true.

Just like she says she all natural.

She never had a nose job, fish lips, cheek implants, breasts implants etc.

  52. Runs with Scissors says:

Though I think she’s got some strangeness to her (mostly the plastic surgery stuff and the denials) Nicole is a ridiculously talented actress.

She was astounding in ‘The Hours’ and countless others.

Being interviewed by this hair tossing, pot smoking imbecile is just embarrassing. As usual, she handled herself with grace under the circumstances.

  53. waq says:

“JA: Nice! Did you have to train him for your taste?”

That question right there tells a whole lot about Aniston. WOW

  54. Camille says:

This interview gave me the dry heaves AND made me lol.

  55. di butler says:

Like Kidman or hate her, some of you are dumb as bricks about the Church of Xenu! The kids don’t have contact with her because she is not a member so they consider her a suppressive person. It goes completely against their teachings. Read up a little, people.

  56. Cyui says:

Yeah the training comment, I was like what. A healthy relationship you don’t talk about each other like an animal. That’s Aniston’s problem. She wants to get in a relationship to try to change the person. Even thinking she can force the person into loving her. Want the famous popular man …gets him for a minute by being submissive….then thinks she can make him love her.

Yeah I saw Eyes Wide Shut too and thought this skinny thing has a great a$$ . She has leverage. There is a curve to that backside.

If Nicole had plastic surgery I’m sure she wouldve bothered to tame her curls and thin herself out before the surgery. When she was thicker and had that frizzy/wild hair, she had the same features. Go check her old movies. Lord whenever people accuse every star of plastic surgery, I think you people must have some scary looking people around in your city. You must be scary yourselves, cause I’ve seen people with perfectly proportionate faces in my city ….in my life….plenty of times.

  57. K McFarlane says:

Her hair is thinning but I’m sure it’s from years of coloring and straightening it. Red is not her natural color, it’s actually blond. I’d think it’s likely she’s wearing at least extensions if not a wig in those photos. But she does look lovely.

I hate saccarine interviews when everything is perfect. No relationship is divine all the time. She used to say exactly the same stuff about Tom Cruise – “we’ll be on honeymoon forever”, “we’re going to be a little old couple holding hands on the porch together” etc. Bleh.

Also I agree with whoever it was above that pulled her up on living out of suitcases. If she were truly homeless and anchorless, she should have set up in LA to be close to her kids, not looking for somewhere entirely different to be.

  58. Cyui says:

    @MacFarlane

Who are you to tell someone what they should be doing. Yeah I’m sure she had no possessions and was just running around with one suitcase. Please. You should go read a book and get over criticizing people you don’t know. Call her out? As far as Nicole knows you people don’t exist. How do you call someone out when you don’t control or run anything. Goodness.

  59. Kara says:

@waq. She said something very similar to this in another interview. Something like men are dogs who need to be taught how to behave. I remember thinking no wonder they run like the wind away from her. I think she’s a typical narcissist who only sees others in relation to how they fit in with HER life. Everything is reflected through ME.

Nicole seems to have more going on upstairs than Jen, that’s for sure. Jen’s questions are very juvenile. It’s all fake air-kisses and ass-kissing. She doesn’t seem to have a genuine bone in her body.

  60. Crash2GO2 says:

If someone compared me to Secretariat I think I’d die of happiness. He is to this day the greatest racehorse of all time – beautiful, graceful, powerful, awe inspiring. And a beautiful shade of auburn red. 🙂

  61. Bill Hicks is God says:

Okay “redlips,” would calling it a self-serving mutual masturbationfest do?

  62. Dea says:

Nicole is promoting Rabitt Hole and wants to get an Oscar – she wants to look the nicest person on earth. You can’t blame her for that. So we all know what these entertainers say right before the nominations….etc. They all are the best people on earth. JA needs a man. As soon as she heard that Nicole is trying to find a woman for Aaron Eckhart, JA put her PR people right to work and here you have it. She meets Nicole so she can have a date with Aaron. Aaron: stay away from JA. The most unintelligent woman on earth. Her face shows stupidity. Period.
Now, regarding the comment that this is a business agreement it may not be for Keith (he seems to gave a great heart and he does not like publicity, he is very private) but it is a business agmt. for Nicole – no doubt about that. She made sure that they had a prenup on her conditions. A prenup that says “Keith gets $600,000 for every year he stays with Nicole with the condition that he does not do illegal drugs and other stuff” is very obvious that is a business agreement. Real love does not sign prenups if she proclaims it is real love. But I wish them the best really as I want to see some lasting celebrities marriages.
As for her photos she looks beautiful – the best photos I have seen of her since her divorce from Tom. Kudos to the photographer.

  63. JenJen says:

    LOL-‘ass-kissy-ness’!

It’s good to see that their egos are both not so big that they can be in the same room. I don’t feel so bad about liking Nicole and letting Aniston grow on me.

  64. Cyui says:

Every woman with money should have a pre-nup. Go tell that crap to Britney….who got one. I think cause peeps like Madonna said something. Go tell that to Simpson, cause he would take half…for sure.

  65. Anon says:

The interview was nice – nothing groundbreaking and sure there was some mutual admiration – but what do people expect when two friends and co-workers are speaking about and to each other publicly, and doing so as part of promotion for an Oscar and upcoming movie? Did anyone really expect them to bring up taboo topics or highlight each other’s faults? Certainly no worse than most celeb interviews conducted by “real” journalists, and offers a little bit of their friendship and personalities not normally seen.

@Drea: Jennifer worked with Eckhart in Love Happens long before he shot Rabbit Hole and became Kidman’s set-up project as you claim. Google for some of his quotes about her – he absolutely adored her and spoke very, very highly of her – and not just during the film’s promotion. Just this past summer he said the following about her:

“Jen has a sweetness and an innocence in a reality that no other person has,” Aaron told OK! exclusively about his Love Happens co-star at the Battle: Los Angeles panel during Comic-Con 2010 Thursday in San Diego.

“She has the ability to be the girl next door as well as this adventurous [side],” Aaron continued. “You’d think that she was just going to live quietly in a white picket fence and two cars, and then she’s off jet-setting with rockstars and this kind of stuff.”

Aaron had no problem expressing his feelings for Jen, who he immediately felt a connection to.

“She has this duality in her that people are attracted to. She won me over the second I met her.”

It hardly seems like Jennifer would need Kidman to set her up with him if she so desired to date him.

@Cyui: Pot meet kettle. You don’t know either of these women either, so who are YOU to be claiming either of them to be one way or another?

  66. Eve says:

    @ Kara:

I don’t like Aniston and I don’t agree with this “training your man” thing but to be fair, she did not compare men to dogs, the whole quote is the following:

“I think that’s because it’s just instinctual as a woman to be the caretaker of your home. Women complain that men don’t do enough, but it’s your own fault. You train your man to do nothing. You can’t blame someone for not knowing what his or her job should be if you don’t ask for it right off the bat.”

  67. Mel says:

I like the two of them. I hope their friendship blossoms, they certainly have something in common, both are unfairly written about on the celeb blogs and most of it fiction.

They are beautiful, talented and rich, so they have the last laugh.

  68. mln76 says:

Let’s not forget Nicole gave the tribute to Angelina when she was nominated for the Changeling. They aren’t friends both of them just badly need this Sandler stinker to be a hit. I am guessing that Jen’s questions were written by her publicist and approved by Nicoles’ but whatever.

  69. Crash2GO2 says:

@Dea: “She made sure that they had a prenup on her conditions. A prenup that says “Keith gets $600,000 for every year he stays with Nicole with the condition that he does not do illegal drugs and other stuff” is very obvious that is a business agreement.”

You have a link for that prenup agreement?

    Thanks in advance.

  70. Dea says:

    @crash2go2

I could not paste the links in here apparently it does now allow it but google yourself and Happy Reading. And when these kind of things and amounts are public you know they are always true.

  71. Dea says:

And not to slam Nicole as a woman but she got lucked out with Keith considering that he really is a humble person. She went man after man after the divorce and the funny part is exactly what she says in this interview that she wants to marry every man she meet for the first time. So it just happened to be Keith at that time as she could have married any other guy before him if they wanted the same. The same stands with Jennifer A – she wants to marry any guy she meets thats why men leave her but she will find someone like Keith and will have a happy ending – that’s why these two have become friends 🙂
Nicole wanted to badly to marry before Tom and Katie married. Now that is something. That;s why I hope this marriage really works as deep inside there is something wrong in this union or she is just addicted to love and who ever she meets she falls for him. I am not an expert but I read a lot.

    Here is the list:
Lenny Kravitz (told her to bugger off)
Steve Bing (he left her as soon as she realized she was already making plans to marry and he is not a marriage guy
Robbie Williams (told her to take a hike)
    Jude Law
    Adrien Brody
    Q-tip
rumors of Ewan McGregor and many others who we do not know.

Keith got trapped apparently and was in deep shit himself from the addiction so here you have it a business agreement for the better interests of both.

  72. Hakura says:

God, I don’t think I’ve ever seen two people craw so far up each other’s asses. I could barely stand to read the whole thing.

I’m always curious as to why Nicole didn’t maintain some sort of relationship with their (older) children. She doesn’t speak as though she even considers them her children, at this point. Maybe they never were, & were entirely Tom’s ‘project’? Even when children are adopted, it doesn’t mean a mother doesn’t develop that connection. She just let the relationship dissipate completely.

  73. Cyui says:

I hope you get help for talking about peoples children and marriages. People you don’t know and know nothing about. Please get help.

  74. hyuch says:

business arrangement? They look completely in lust with each other. I doubt it!

  75. nnn says:

I always liked Nicole Kidman. She handles herself like a lady, never dissed anyone, never used derogatory words, no obscenities whatsoever.

I like how she is a family oriented woman. I like when she was pictured either with her sister, either with her mother. I like close knit families, they exude that warmth.

But she has always strikes me as having a weak/submitive personality. That’s why she stayed married so long with Tom, that’s why she holds her career when she was married with him, just like Kathy.

I do beleive that her current husband is a better match. They both sound like sweet, classy individuals.

  76. ShellyMay says:

    Jennifer interviewing Nicole:

    Me, Me, Me,Me.
So Nicole how do you like Georgia?

    Me, Me, Me, Me.
So Nicole how are your kids?

    Me, Me, Me, Me, Me.
    So Nicole how Keith?

  77. Trashaddict says:

Say what you will, she looks happier and healthier than she has in years in these photos. Imagine how gorgeous Katie would be if she escaped from Xenu. Happiness is great for your looks.
