Golden Globes Open Post: Hosted By The Hamm Dong

wenn3037499

Here is your open post for tonight’s Golden Globes. Take a shot every time the camera pans to Angelina Jolie and her (inevitable) glittery sack dress! No, don’t. You’ll have alcohol poisoning within an hour. And don’t take a shot every time you see Hamm Dong either. You want to be able to be stone-cold sober to appreciate the Hamm Dong. Anyway, Sammie & I are probably going to be updating (at the end of the post) with interesting moments or events tonight, and then tomorrow we’ll have all of the fashion posts and the official recap of the evening. For now, let’s wager some money! Here are the night’s nominees, and I’ve bolded who I think will win/who I want to win. Go to the bottom of the post to see my updates once the red carpet and stuff starts!

UPDATES:

*E!’s Red Carpet Coverage has begun! Olivia Wilde is wearing a beaded Marchesa ball gown. It fits beautifully, and it looks good on her, but her bangs trauma is a failure.

*Jennifer Love needs to stop with the big, voluminous dresses. She’s gained some weight, and she looks fine. She shouldn’t try to hide it behind gigantic, puffy bodices.

* Sarah Hyland, that little girl from Modern Family, looks much too “mature”. That diamond necklace ages her.

* Chris Hemsworth’s accent… JESUS.

* That girl from Winter’s Bone – wearing Louis Vuitton. She looks okay. She’s totally a gorgeous girl, but the dress is a little fussy for someone so young.

* Hailee Steinfeild looks really pretty. She’s a very coltish young beauty.

* Why the frig are there so many Glee stars all of a sudden? Why did they all get invitations? And why did Ryan Seacrest call Dianne Argon “docile” to her face, and she replied “THANK YOU!”??? Dumb girls.

* HELENA BONHAM CARTER HAS ARRIVED. And her hair is crazy. Of course.

* Damn, Alec Baldwin can talk and talk and talk and talk….

* Elisabeth Moss! In green Donna Karan. Like the dress, don’t like how skinny Elisabeth has gotten post-divorce.

* ZOMG Helena BC is wearing two different color shoes! On anyone else, I would be yelling. On her, it’s fabulous.

* Soooo…. Eva Longoria got some breakup Botox and plastic surgery, correct? She looks like hell.

* Julie Bowen just can’t dress for red carpets. She ALWAYS has a problem with eveningwear.

* ScarJo has Bride of Frankenstein hair. Ugh.

* Natalie Portman is the new ROSE BOOBS. She takes the title from Charlize Theron.

* Sofia Vergara looks like a stripper. Not in a good way.

* Leighton Meester – ENOUGH WITH THE NUDES. That’s for everybody.

* Catherine Zeta Jones looked great in that green ball gown, right? But it was slightly Gone With the Wind.

* Jake Gyllenhaal was flirting with Ryan Seacrest, right? Like, they enjoy each other’s spa dongs.

* Angelina JOLIE! She’s not wearing a sack, y’all! Praise Jesus. I like her Versace, although it’s more demure than I wanted. The color (A JEWEL TONE!!!!!) is wonderful.

* Michelle Williams looks like a smacked ass in that hideous daisy dress. Meanwhile, The Gosdong is making my loins explode.

* JON HAMM HAS ARRIVED. He and Robert Pattinson are wearing the same (?) blue tuxedo…?

* Halle Berry, we know you have a great body. You don’t have to dress like a hooker to show it off.

* Speaking of hookers, Christina Aguilera, ladies and gentlemen.

* Tina Fey looked okay in her navy velvet dress. Much better than usual, I’ll say that much.

* Robert Downey Jr. needs a shave. His wife looked pretty though. Susan always looks classy.

* I loved Juilianna Marguiles’ dress! She knows how to style herself, and she always looks classic.

* HATED Anne Hathaway’s big-shouldered 80s mess. The bottom half was okay, the top half – ugh.

* Amy Adams has something weird on her boob. The dress is a nice color though.

* Heidi Klum = wrath of God.

* Christina Hendricks, I love you, you’re wonderful, but stop with the enormous crap on your top half!!! It’s too much. It overwhelms you.

**********
Okay, the show has begun:

* Christina Bale, Katey Segal and Chris Colfer have already won.

* Um, how awesome was Ricky Gervais’s open? Charlie Sheen jokes, Mel Gibson jokes, AND OMG HE SAID SOMETHING ABOUT ANGELINA. The Brangeloonies have now taken out a fatwa against Gervais. Watch out, Ricky.

* Lea Michele’s over-acting has been the highlight thus far. That, and Ricky’s joke about Scientologists in the closet.

* Angelina fixing Brad’s bow-tie! New highlight.

* What’s the deal with Boardwalk Empire?!? I thought that show was a hot mess…?

* Congrats, Steve Buscemi! I adore that man. Kelly McDonald is adorable too.

* Ricky Gervais SO is not going to be invited to host again, right?

* Aw, Angelina lost. As did Julianne Moore, who I thought was a lot stronger and more interesting in The Kids are All Right. But it was nice to see Annette have her moment. How crazy-funny is RDJ? Emma Stone totally looked up for it too! And what’s with Angelina draping herself on Brad? Like he’s a sofa!

* Um, IDRIS ELBA IS IN THE HOUSE. Sigh… Angelina should drape herself on Idris.

* I love Temple Grandin. We all need more Temple in our lives. Also, Claire Danes totally deserves every award she gets for playing Temple – and it truly pains me to say that, because I don’t care for her. But she was wonderful.

* Al Pacino is adorable. I want to take him to McDonalds and hear him riff on the menu.

* Woot! Jane Lynch is awesome. Why does the camera keep panning to Lea Michele’s over-acting? She might have a good voice, but the chick is a horrible actress.

* Disappointing that Tina Fey lost, but I like Laura Linney.

* HAHAHA Sparkles was barely allowed to speak. Still, that disturbance in the force was just a million Twihards having a simultaneous orgasm. There is now a Twihard fatwa against Olivia Wilde. Also, I think the Bieber-loonies will probably try to shank Hailee Steinfield.

* Melissa Leo wins Best Supporting! Is she going to win the Oscar? Unknown.

* Um, did someone write Robert De Niro’s speech for him? Was this the first time he had ever looked at it? I mean, I love him and he’s a legend and he’s amazing and everything, but that speech was wacky, right?

* What did Paul Giamatti say about Halle Berry? Was he, um, appreciating her assets? I think he must have been, in colorful terms.

* Uh, what’s the deal with Megan Fox? Why get Megan to introduce The Tourist? That’s was so lame. Fortunately, she didn’t bungle it like every other presenter. That January Jones and Jimmy Fallon bit was awkward.

* David Fincher seems a lot nicer than I was expecting.

* Natalie Portman’s speech was strange. To me, at least. Like, is she trying to convince us of how much her baby-daddy loves her? Ballet K-Fed. Ugh.

* COLIN FIRTH!! YAY!

* The Social Network wins Best Picture. Good night, everybody!

  1. Chris says:

Nurse Jackie isn’t a comedy even Edie Falco says so. Anyhoodle I hope Edie and Christian Bale win. I’d also like to see Christopher Nolan win Best Director for Inception but action & sci fi films never win these sort of awards.

  2. Lydia says:

I have come to realize that I only find him hot as Don Drapper and not as Jon Hamm. It’s just to bad ’cause he does nothing for me here

  3. Camille says:

Aww bummer that this post is being ‘hosted’ by Hamm. I’d rather it was Colin Firth or someone, well just anyone else really 😆 .

Well off to watch E’s red carpet, wonder if Seacrest will make an ass of himself with the Jolie-Pitts again 😆 .

  4. sammie323 says:

So Justin Bieber is going to be there. Just don’t block my view of Johnny Depp, Bieber.

  5. sammie323 says:

That’s a lot of dress on Olivia Wilde. Pretty color. Hair a little too straight.

God, it’s going to be a long night with Seacrest’s silly questions.

  6. Tee says:

Fabulous predictions covered everyone I would have picked from Julianne Moore, Tina Fey, Helena Bonham Carter! They all deserve the win so much as does Colin Firth. If there predictions come true there is justice in the world! Looking foward to the fashion on the red carpet!

  7. sammie323 says:

    Giuliana is really skinny

  8. JuJuBee says:

Kelly Osbourne has zilch chemistry with her partner on E!. Actually they’re both awful. It’s baaaaaaaaaaad!

  9. sammie323 says:

Jennifer Love is soooo tan. Not sure about the bustline on her dress, but I like the ice blue

  10. sammie323 says:

E! could just keep showing hot Aussies all night

  11. CB Rawks says:

Piper Perabo got nominated?? That show sucks and she sucks in it! Good lord.

  12. sammie323 says:

I may have to mute the hosts

  13. sammie323 says:

    Beautiful green on Elisabeth Moss

  14. Javagirl1 says:

    Come on Black Swan!!

  15. sammie323 says:

    Julia Bowen is pretty cool.

Not feeling the beard on Gyllenhaal. Insert your own joke here.

  16. sammie323 says:

    God bless Helena Bonham Carter.

  17. gloaming says:

If anyone wants a live streaming link I’ve got one.

  18. Kaiser says:

Sammie – I know, Helena is INCREDIBLE. She’s such a fucking mess, I love her.

  19. Liana says:

oh God, shut up Lea Michele.

Not sure how I feel about Natlaie Portman’s dress. Part of me likes it, part of me, not so much.

Carrie Underwood kind of IS a bitch.

  20. sammie323 says:

Just when you think Helena can’t possibly top herself, she wears two different colored shoes

  21. LittleOat says:

Different colored shoes. I LOVE Helena Bonham Carter.

  22. sammie323 says:

Damn Scarlett! What’s with the hair?

  23. Ally says:

@gloaming. I would like the link, plz. Tks. 🙂

  24. Brittney says:

Everyone I loved has won, so far. In fact, I finally saw The Kids Are All Right tonight and was like “why is all the buzz about Annette?! Julianne clearly deserves the props for this one.”
Thank you so much for your coverage… I can’t wait to see more of the red carpet fashion/speeches tomorrow!

  25. truthSF says:

I soooo looooove Helena Bonham Carter, she is the SH*T(in a good way)!

p.s. WTH happen to Sandra Bullock, she looks like sh*t(in a bad way).

  26. gloaming says:

@Ally- You have to install Veetle- similar to DivX

    http://www.vip–sport.com/vip-tv.php

Not sure if they’re streaming GG yet- but I have a back up just in case.

  27. sammie323 says:

    Oh, Leighton, no.

  28. sammie323 says:

    Love that green on CZJ.

  29. LOVE ANGELINA says:

I think I am gonna watch the first half of the Golden Globes and then Big Love comes on and RHOA so Yay for this open post. I mean Twitter would keep just as updated but this is much better. I have actual money on Claire Danes winning tonight and I already know Nat is gonna kill it tonight. Excited.

  30. gloaming says:

I hate that you need a Sky subscription for this in the UK.

I can’t wait for Ricky Gervais’ opening monologue.
    Want CZJ dress.

    ZOMG Anjie’s dress!!!!

@ Kaiser can you set up a chat box like a few years ago?

  31. sammie323 says:

Angelina is in that dark green too. She looks great

  32. vic says:

I’m watching the E show now, and Julianna looks sickenly skinny –skin and bones. I think having to report all of Hollywood being pregnant after a miscarriage might be taking a toll on her.

  33. Camille says:

    CZJ looks gorgeous.

    HBC is hilarious, <3 her.

Scarlett looks like the Bride of Frankenstein. She doesn’t look good.

Angelina and Brad- Hotness. No sack dress there Kaiser- AND its a jewel tone :p .

    Mila Kunis- Gorgeous.

  34. truthSF says:

Angelina’s got color on and it’s a beautiful dress.

Is there any reason why Justin Beiber is at the GG?

  35. Liana says:

my dad is there somewhere. LOL. I keep looking for him, but he’s not “famous” so he won’t really be seen.

Wow – Angelina in green. And Mila in green, too. Tons of green tonight.

  36. Ally says:

    @gloaming. Thanks! 🙂

  37. Camille says:

WTH is up with Sandra B’s face??!!! I also hate her hair, is it to distract from her face??

    Milla J- just lovely.

  38. Zzzzzzzzzz says:

Brad and Angelina look freaking fantastic. I LOVE that colour on her!

  39. sammie323 says:

    No, Christina, no

  40. sammie323 says:

Kaiser, I thought GWTW for CZJ too! Especially the hair

  41. LOVE ANGELINA says:

Booooo!!!! I didn’t get to see Angelina and I am flipping back and forth between E! and NBC and here and JJ and nobody has a freaking picture. Boooooo!!!! 🙁 Come on people shut up and show Angelina.

  42. albeli says:

Natalie Portman’s dress would be lovely without the *giant red sequined rose* stuck on it–WTF? Reminds me of my 9th grade BFF’s baton twirling costumes.

  43. LittleOat says:

    Milla always looks gorgeous.

Love the dark blue on Tina Fey.

    Hamm sighting!!!

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I think Michelle Williams looks cute.

  44. Liana says:

albeli – YES! I hate the rose. Other than that, the dress is pretty.

  45. Camille says:

I hate the bottom of Halle Berrys dress.

Lots of down hair styles this year.

  46. mature student says:

Uh…it’s “Pillars of the Earth” (not Killers).

  47. CC says:

woah, green is big this year, no?

  48. Zzzzzzzzzz says:

Halle trying too hard. Sandra nearly blinded by that God-awful fringe. The dress isn’t too pretty either. Christina Aguilera looks a hot mess. J-Lo looks fairly matronly. Fancy that.

  49. sammie323 says:

I like Christian Bale scruffy with the long hair.

  50. Brittney says:

Angie went with a jewel tone!! That’s my girl!!

Also, Natalie should’ve switched her Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice dress choices. Bleh.

  51. Brittney says:

Also, Channel Surfing has live streaming of the awards right now!!

  52. LOVE ANGELINA says:

I love Nats rose but I think she shouldn’t have worn a necklace AND that big brooch, just some big sparkly earrings that were red like the rose.

  53. Anti-icon says:

    RDJ!!!!!!!!

  54. LOVE ANGELINA says:

Oh JJ finally posted what Angie and Brad were wearing and I loved the jewel tone on her she looks amazing.

OH wow Ricky Gerveris!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! I knew he was gonna do that!!!! I can’t watch now, I had to turn!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!

  55. gloaming says:

  56. Camille says:

Ooooh, Ricky Gervais, wonder if he won’t be hosting next year, wow. Burn.

  57. LittleOat says:

    OMG.
    Closeted gay Scientologists joke.
Don’t look at it when you touch it.

    Ricky Gervais is my hero.

  58. Liana says:

Now Sandra Bullock has bangs trauma.

  59. sammie323 says:

LOL, Christian Bale is still talking. I hope this means he wins the Oscar

  60. Liana says:

    Go Katey Sagal!!!

  61. lucy2 says:

My best dressed: Mila Kunis! Also liked Sofia Vergara, Carried Underwood, Elizabeth Moss, Anne Hathaway, and ugh Eva Longoria.
Worst: Heidi Klum, JLo, Halle (trashy from the waist down), Christina Aguilera, Sandra Bullock, and Julianne Moore.
Helena looks exactly as you’d expect.
Lots of very pretty gowns. Some BAD hair – Sandra, Scarlett, JL Hewitt.

  62. xxodettexx says:

    yay, Katey Sagal!!!!!!

    woohoo!!!

  63. Brittney says:

Chris was so surprised, it melted my heart! And shut up, Leah, it’s not about you.

  64. Chicoulina says:

I love the dress Angelina is wearing, especially the color!Wow!!!They both look Fabulous!!Brad has brought sexy back, finally!!
I also loved Mila Kunis dress, but not on her that much.I think she’s too short to pull it off.It would have been an amazing choice for Angelina to wear!!!Can’t wait for photos tomorrow and to be able to actually see the show.
    Darn region ristrictions…

  65. LittleOat says:

Lea Michelle is crying because someone else from the cast won before she did.

  66. gloaming says:

Yeah littleoat. She looked really fake when she was crying.
Loving Ricky Gervais. Especially his comments about The Tourist

  67. truthSF says:

Lol @LittleOat, you know she’s freaking out inside.

edit: Yea, Steve Buscemi Won as well as his show. Sorry for your Hamm Losing Kaiser…NOT!!! 🙂

  68. sammie323 says:

    Whoa, Michael C. Hall’s beard.

  69. mln76 says:

Ehh I love Ricky so much he can get away with dissing Angie.

  70. sammie323 says:

Awww, Angie was fixing Brad’s tie.

    And Matt Damon looks cute

  71. latam2012 says:

the colour of angelinas dress is lovely and she does look pretty, i wish it had more shape though and im not sold on the shoulder pads. hair is ok, I still think it could do with a trim

  72. latam2012 says:

    mila kunis’s dress is amazing

  73. lucy2 says:

OMG Ricky Gervais is not pulling any punches, is he??? Love it.
I tried Boardwalk Empire but couldn’t get into it.
Yeah, I thought Lea’s crying face was a bit fake, like she noticed the camera.

  74. sammie323 says:

Trent Reznor?!? Whoa, high school flashback.

  75. sammie323 says:

EW tweeted a pic of Angie fixing Brad’s tie: http://twitpic.com/3qr1y9

  76. gloaming says:

Took me a few episodes to get in to Boardwalk – but it’s worth it.

Any of you guys know how long is this show?

    Oh. Just saw Natalie’s bitchface!

  77. sammie323 says:

RDJ needs to host the Oscars

  78. mln76 says:

RDJ is the best. So funny.

  79. jj says:

    omg rdj is so funny!

  80. Liana says:

My husband on Trent Reznor (who he knows, actually): “damn Trent, you’re kind of turning into someone’s dad aren’t you? Please tell me there’s no mini van involved in your life.”

  81. Camille says:

RDJ should definitely host next year, or the Oscars. <3 him.

  82. sammie323 says:

Annette Benning’s hair looks like Madam Hooch

  83. truthSF says:

AAAHH, IDRIS ELBA JUST WINKED AT ME, I’M SOOOO IN LOVE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!

    CONGRATS Mr. Al Pacino!!!

edit: Ricky Gervais is hilarious, he’s the only reason why I bothered to watch the GG tonight.

  84. njnick says:

Whoever said that they bet on Claire Danes……Congrats!!

  85. Camille says:

<3 = Tina Fey and Steve Carrell. Awesome 😀

  86. albeli says:

Aww, man, I wanted Sofia to win.

    Jane Lynch–“falsely humble” LMAO

    AND she jabbed Leah Michele!

  87. LittleOat says:

    STOP IT, Lea Michelle.

  88. mii says:

Collin needs to win. Like now.
…but yeah, Collin needs to win. Or I be mad.

  89. april says:

    im happy claire danes won.

  90. albeli says:

Her fake cry isn’t even the right kind of fake cry–looks like she saw a puppy get run over, not a costar win an award.

  91. gloaming says:

Loved Jane Lynch’s dig at Lea Michele.
Sorry but Olivia Wilde Looks Stupid

Biutiful didn’t win best Foreign Language 🙁

    Oh Javi……

  92. mln76 says:

I’m so glad Laura Linney won!!! Love her 🙂

  93. sammie323 says:

Aww, poor Lea Michele. You know she rehearsed her acceptance speech

  94. mii says:

    Vanessa Williams is gorgeous

  95. Liana says:

… and Lea attacks the Ernst and Young guys demanding a recount.

  96. truthSF says:

SHOW ME LEA’S TEARS! I’m so glad she did NOT win!!

  97. Noel says:

What was Jane Lynch’s jab..I missed her speech :/

  98. albeli says:

She made a comment about signing fans’ autographs if she’s not busy “with other things to do”–a reference to Lea snubbing the girl from True Grit.

  99. mii says:

I do not want to see more Kurt on Glee—please don’t let him take over the show

  100. LittleOat says:

I didn’t make the connection regarding the jab at Lea Michelle. Love Jane Lynch even more now.

I love Jim Parsons. Loved how he stopped himself from calling the writers “his.”

  101. sammie323 says:

I remember Melissa Leo from the first season of Young Riders! I wonder what happened to the actors from that show.

  102. mln76 says:

HBC gave some classic bitch face I love it.

  103. albeli says:

Yeah, HBC’s reaction shot was awesome. 🙂

  104. SuperSleuth says:

I just caught Brad and Angelina sneaking back in from the bar during Matt Damon’s speech. 🙂

Oops! What were they doing, she just came back and had to freshen her lip gloss 😉

  105. mii says:

that was unprofessional of Jane Lynch—to turn on your costar in public? Bad. Doesn’t make her look good regardless of how Lea is.
Lea– she’s a great actress and singer. Her job is to act like a professional and do her job… everything else (e.g. signing autographs) is extra. Especially for that girl. Why are we feeling sorry for a little rich girl?

Now, I’m sure that Lea is a diva–but whatever.

  106. Liana says:

HBC was like “shut up already, your voice is grating on my last nerve.” Or maybe that was just me projecting.

  107. buckley says:

Claire Danes did indeed deserve that award. She was spectacular as Temple Grandin.

  108. gloaming says:

Robert De Niro’s the coolest guy in the room.
    His speech was so funny.

  109. mln76 says:

Does anyone else think having Meagan Fox present the Tourist is another diss on Angie?

  110. Camille says:

mln76: No. But it was odd. Trying to continue to push her as the ‘new’ AJ maybe?

  111. albeli says:

I was just thinking the same thing re: Megan Fox presenting The Tourist. She still comes off as Angie Lite.

And maybe it’s just me, but the scenes they selected still don’t make the movie seem like a comedy.

  112. mln76 says:

They took the trailer which is a shitty trailer. The movie should not have been nominated but it was funny.

  113. SuperSleuth says:

I didn’t understand the whole Megan Fox thing either. She needs to get a life. Her own life.

  114. albeli says:

    Obviously I haven’t seen it. 😉

I guess I’m just wondering if it was supposed to be a comedy, or if it was unintentionally funny. Her acting in the clips I’ve seen is really wooden.

  115. Liana says:

#105: Lea Michelle fan, I take it?

  116. Tomas says:

is angie wasted??? everytime they show a shot of her she’s looking off in space or dead in the eyes…she’s seems off, like she’s not all there.

  117. mln76 says:

I am a loon so I doubt my opinion matters on this but I will say my sister who hates most Jolie films loved it. I also heard from other people that they liked it. It isn’t as bad as SATC 2 or that Katherine Heigl film. I think (especially)Jolie and Depp are easy targets.
Basically an old fashioned romantic comedy. Think Charade.

  118. sammie323 says:

Damn, I wanted Depp to win for The Tourist. That would have been really funny.

  119. Liana says:

I thought the Tourist was OK. Didn’t hate it by a long shot.

  120. mii says:

Lianna– Lea Michelle fan? Hmmm I wouldn’t go that far. I enjoy her on glee. haven’t seen her in anything else. I’m not crazy about her, like I am about Vanessa Marcil or Gwen Stefani or Jennifer Aniston–so I guess not….

I do not think Lea is pretty at all. So I’m not drinking the kool-aid

  121. mln76 says:

@Tomas I think she is just cringing through this whole thing. I think she was pissed at the joke at the beginning of the night and is seriously like when is this going to be over. But she’s also probably drunk too it is the Golden Globes.

  122. Liana says:

I don’t think Jane Lynch was unprofessional at all. She did what Jane does. I’m sure Lea is used to it. And signing autographs IS part of the job. It’s an important part of the job. It’s the PR aspect of it all.

  123. sammie323 says:

Hey, the ballet K-Fed is there!

    Congratulations to Natalie.

  124. SuperSleuth says:

Brad’s alter ego, Jeff Bridges is presenting right now.

  125. albeli says:

Now that I get a better look at NP’s gown, I would like it a lot better if it was just the rose without the stem/leaves.

  126. truthSF says:

    sammie323:

Hey, the ballet K-Fed is there!

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

That was wrong sammie, wrong, haha!!

    ============================================

edit: My night is now complete. Colin Firth (my husband) is on his way to win his most deserved Oscar with his GG win.

  127. sammie323 says:

Yay, Colin! He needs an Oscar too.

  128. mln76 says:

I love Colin Firth he is just so lovely when he talks & so upright.

  129. mii says:

    LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE COLIN

  130. sammie323 says:

Oh hell, Johnny Depp talking to Robert Downey Jr. Too much cool

  131. Tomas says:

mln76: you could be right, but if she is pissed she needs to lighten up and get over herself. ricky has made fun of just about every person in the room!

  132. Liana says:

YAY. I love Colin Firth and he was so wonderful in “the King’s Speech.”

  133. SuperSleuth says:

    Johnny Depp looks hot tonight!

  134. mln76 says:

Ricky G’s last line was perfection what a meany. I love him.

  135. LOVE ANGELINA says:

I didn’t watch the show but I am glad to hear Claire Danes won. Its like yes I get money from my friends but at the same time me being a “know it all” isn’t just annoying…its true.

Surprised to hear about the Jane Lynch thing. Isn’t that odd turn on your co-star like that?

Thank you Sammie for linking the pic of Angie fixing Brad’s tie. So sweet.

Boardwalk Empire was an amazing show. It was crazy and had some wild moments. Give it a chance. If it won something it deserved it.

Thanks for the updates people. 😀

  136. truthzbetta says:

I guess it’s not good I don’t know what the hell “The King’s Speech” is.

Hope there’s a female in it that takes overrated Pregnant Portman’s wrapped up Oscar she already accepted a few interviews ago. I know, bitchy.

Why is anybody surprised Ballet K-Fed showed up? This is the part of the ride he will not miss for the world. Raising the baby that got him to all these events is where he’ll do the disappearing act.

Why isn’t Inception getting any love?

  137. Sparkly says:

Natalie’s speech pained me, but Colin Firth redeemed all with his awesome triangle of man-love.

  138. lisa says:

there are lots of pics of Angie and Brad laughing and engaged in the show. But don’t let that stop the silly snark.

Natalie’s speech was a bit weird but she looks cute pregnant. Sandra B is the one that looked and acted out of it. but I was sure there would be no comments about that little fact.

  139. TotallyDo says:

Ricky’s hosting may have been hit and miss but Natalie Portman’s speech was all miss. She actually made me feel awkward. But I loved listening to Firth’s and Colfer’s speeches.

  140. JenJen says:

Anyone catch the after-party on E!? Katie Segal turned down the glass of Bubbly but Giuliana snatched it up,she had a good buzz going on. Poor girl married to Bill, she deserves it. Caught a quick glimpse at Katie’s hubby and he looks like a little cutie. Maybe that is how she stays so trim ;)She looks better than she did 20 years ago, good for her!

  141. JenJen says:

I thought Natalie’s speech was sweet. It didn’t seem snooty or really even prepared. Her mother was not thrilled about the “I hope my Grandma in Ohio is having a drink” part. Her mom was like, “no,don’t say that”! It was different and down to earth.

  142. JenJen says:

Just realized, the GOOP wasn’t there…What’s up with that? She was horrible and the least funny ever on SNL so maybe she is actually embarrassed. No, don’t think so. Where was she?

  143. Mistral says:

My favourite speeches: Christian Bale and Colin Firth. They were both absolutely adorable, genuine, thankful, witty and—most importantly—in love with their wives. Seriously, there is nothing sexier than a man who adores his woman (and children)…

Natalie Portman had the WORST speech of the night. WTF? was all I could think.

Robert DeNiro is cool, but I didn’t like his speech. It was strange. Al Pacino also seemed very loopy…

Michael Douglas was quick-witted: loved his quip about the standing ovation. CZJ looked gorgeous.

Ricky Gervais was unnecessarily mean at times, and perfect at others (esp. the two gay scientologists joke, and the one about Hefner lying about his age to make himself out to be older and closer to death for the young gold digger…loved his intro of RDJ, too).

RDJ and Johnny Depp are seriously hot and cool. However, if I was RDJ’s beautiful wife, I don’t know how funny I would have found his intro. Yes, it was a joke, and there was a point, and he prob didn’t write it himself, but I’d still have disliked it.

Paul Giamatti: high points for thanking Canada and praising our awesomeness… especially the awesomeness of Montreal.

Don’t know Melissa Leo, but she was cute. Good for her.

    Trent Reznor!!!!!!!! 🙂

Darren A looks so sad. I love Rachel, but I think she’s the one who ended things and broke his <3.

I think Inception should have won some awards over The Social Network…

January Jones is gorgeous. She was nearly perfect from hair to shoe. However, while that dress was stunning, I think it was a bit much with the boobies. I think it would have been much nicer if it hadn’t been so revealing on top.

Annette and Warren seem to be solid. So, so much for those rumours of impending marital doom… (I do, however, recognize their acting talents. So, maybe they do have us fooled). I actually loved Annette’s “screw it” hair/reading glasses look. Julianne didn’t looks so great, though. She is so lovely, but the dress was a sack.

Angie’s dress was perfect. Brad is handsome. Loved the little shots of her fixing Brad’s tie and reapplying lip gloss. —“Look! They’re just like us!” lol… Whatever. I don’t buy that everything they do is carefully staged, and they looked happy, cool, and “together” in a totally normal way. I liked it. Same goes for Hamm and his lady. They seem really relaxed and happy together.

Jane Lynch is adorable and loved her speech. Same for Katey Segal (plus I loved how excited Al Bundy looked for his Peg)…

That’s all I can think of for now…. (OH—loved Hathaway’s, Kunis’s, Hailee Whatever’s dresses, but usually adorable Emma Stone looked orange)…

  144. KJ says:

I have to say if you thought BW Empire was a mess you’ve clearly never seen it or spoken to anyone who has. There’s a reason it won over mad men for best series and best actor. It’s an amazing show (produced by SCORCESE and Wahlberg) and Steve Buscemi is amazing in it. Please take the time to watch it. It’s worth it. MadMen is very last year, it seems. Forgotten stepchild.

  145. Mistral says:

Wow…Just noticed the length of my post. Had this been the Golden Globes, I would have been cut off after the first few sentences… :O

  146. MrsOdie2 says:

Olivia Wilde’s dress needed an updo. Her hair was way too casual for that gown. And Sandra Bullock looked like she was wearing a wig. I hope Geoffrey Rush doesn’t have cancer. What was with the hat and the death pallor? Angelina’s dress was a pretty color (too much green, though, she didn’t stand out) but the neckline was too wide. It went too far out to the tips of her shoulders and her hair was AWFUL. I paraphrase Dave Chappelle: What can you say about her hair that hasn’t already been said about Afghanistan? It looks bombed out and depleted. Like her doppelganger, Olivia Wilde, she needed a fancier hairdo for the dress.

  147. Chris says:

“Why isn’t Inception getting any love?”

Because action and sci fi films never get any love at these sort of award ceremonies.

I thought Julianne Moore was robbed. Although Annette Bening was good, Julianne’s performance was better.

It was good to see my old favourites Al Pacino and Steve Buscemi get awards and it was even better to see my current favourite Christian Bale win. 🙂

Temple Grandin is a show I’m gonna have to catch. Anything that raises the profile of Asperger’s Syndrome and animal rights is pretty cool in my book.

Condolences to all you Hamm lovers. 🙁

As an aside, it’s heartening to see that Celebitchy fires up about award ceremonies, I’m really looking forward to posting around Oscar time.

  148. JenJen says:

@Lisa, no I noticed Sandra looked pissed too. Maybe Ryan wasn’t willing to work the red carpet. She made that mistake with TattooMan. Some girls never learn.

  149. MrsOdie2 says:

Natalie Portman seemed to be doing PR for her baby-daddy, who has a very bad comb-over. I thought her speech was very awkward. The part about how he was such a good actor because his character said he didn’t want to sleep with her, but he totally did? Um, I wonder if he was as convincing when he told his live-in girlfriend he wasn’t sleeping with Natalie Portman. Whoopsie.

  150. hairball says:

    Ricky G……yikes, but hilarious.

    RDJ handles himself so well.

Colin Firth: SO glad he won!

Claire Danes: So glad she won and to see Temple Grandin there.

Robert Pattinson: God, to me, the man is just simply GORGEOUS.

  151. chris says:

Honestly, Rob should have been allowed to speak longer. WTF was that?
