Having ribs removed would be seriously detrimental to a person's health and safety of vital organs. There is no surgeon known who would remove a person's ribs and be able to keep his license. Rib removal is urban legend material. However, with careful corestry a woman can whittle down her waist size over time, but it takes time and patience. The corset slowly molds the waistline and shapes the floating ribs (the last few ribs at the bottom of the rib cage that are free-floating, not attached to the spinal column) inward along with the waist and intestines in that area. Over time the extra small corsets reshape the woman's middle section, giving it that wasp waist.
