I just listened to this remix of Lady Gaga’s first single from her new album, Born This Way. The single/remix debuted yesterday in Paris, at the Mugler fashion show. They played it as the models walked the runway. Here’s the remix… with the “short film” made by Nicola Formichetti (Mugler’s creative director) and photographer Mariano Vivanco. The model/skull-face/skeleton is model Rick Genest. Here’s the remix:
It’s not bad. I’m listening to it again as I’m writing. It will be interesting to hear the original single and compare it to the remix. But I like the German, I like how it’s not “ZOMG DANCE!” Is Gaga growing up? Personally, I hope she keeps making great dance music – someone needs to, and Madonna isn’t interested. Let’s see… what else…Formichetti and Gaga have had a professional relationship for a while, and he’s the dude responsible for her meat dress. Also, Gaga was thrilled with the collaboration, as she tweeted: “MUGLER PARIS SHOW begins in 2 hours. I am so excited my fashion bones are rattling. The garments + music are poetic intoxication.” Oh, and Gaga has a history of premiering new music during a fashion show – she did the same thing with “Bad Romance” during a McQueen show in 2009.

This is the remix for the fashion show. I want to hear the song that will be on the album before I make my decision. This sounds good for a fashion show. I want to hear the real song to see if it’s any good. Gaga says her new album will be the most brilliant album of this new decade. LOL

I agree jj lousy, lifeless, soulless; I can’t believe anyone with an extensive musical background with real instruments played live would find this the slightest bit musically interesting. As somemone else mentioned, didn’t madonna go through her mugler period in the early 90s. Sorry, i prefer real music played live with real instruments – this is vacant meaningless noise imho.

Ok so here’s my problem – I’ve been hearing about this fucking song ever since she wore that meat dress, and there is yet to be an original song. It’s already been remixed and is being covered by Glee and it’s not even out yet. Are you kidding me? I hope this song is as good as she says it is because they are way overhyping this shit. It hasnt even had a chance to get (inevitably) overplayed on the radio and I’m already sick of it.

It is not her first single. It is a remix that was made for the fashion show of a song on the album but no one has said its the first single. I kind of like it but you cant judge from the remix. I hate how people keep trashing it as if its the real first single. I like that shes experimenting with foreign languages
If she isnt even giving the name of the song that leads me to believe this was just for the show and isnt the single were going to get drilled in our heads on the radio in a month.

jr you will have to wait, because Madonna is just beginning to start working on it. I was hoping for an album this year from Madonna, but if there is one, it’s going to be the end of the year or first of next year sometime.

I tired of her after day 1 of her crap. Dressing in bizarre outfits does not signify a musical genuis. The music and vocals should speak loud enough for themselves.
I have grudgingly come to enjoy this woman. Even if she is a BLATANT and unapologetic Bowie thief. However I do wish she wouldn’t speak. Every time she speaks I want to make it my mission to slap her. I suppose she is only 23, but I have a sneaking suspicion that its only going to get worse. Pretty sure she is nuts and not because of her clothes.
Her walking around half dressed is kind of desperate. One time, kind of interesting. But she does it all the time. She’s setting herself up for failure at some point because she won’t be able to top herself. I like Gaga and she has some catchy songs, but her cabaret ballads I can’t stand. Give me a beautiful ballad by Madonna or Xtina any day over her campy cabaret piano ballads.

oh come on, she clearly isn’t talented enough to make it without the crappy backing electro dance track, and bizarre outfits, because she tried at one point to just play her songs and no one cared because they weren’t all that great. i just hope this comes and goes quickly.

I can’t really make a decision based on the song’s remix. With Gaga’s songs, I tend to prefer the original, so once I hear the single, I’ll know if I like it or not.
I love her music, but her fashion is really getting weird. She shouldn’t let her costume choices overshadow her talent.
