Matt Damon and his wife Luciana had a baby girl on Wednesday, August 20. Little Gia Zavala is Damon’s third daughter. Damon and Luciana also have daughters Isabella, two, and Alexia, 10, from Luciana’s last marriage.
“Matt and Lucy Damon had a baby girl named Gia Zavala on Wednesday, Aug. 20th. Everyone’s doing great,” Damon’s rep, Jennifer Allen, tells PEOPLE. “She is a healthy baby girl.”
The newest addition is the third little girl in the Damon household, joining big sisters Isabella, 2, and Alexia, 10.
Damon recently joked about living with so many females, telling USA Today from his home in Miami, “I’m so outnumbered down here, it’s crazy.”

Damon gained 30 pounds to play the role of a troubled executive in The Informant, out next year. He has to quickly lose the weight to reshoot scenes for his film Green Zone in early September. Damon is boxing for exercise and joked that “if you get hit enough times, [the weight] will fall off.” He has also started a charity, the H20 Africa Foundation, which aims to bring clean water to villages in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The 37 year-old actor will take the rest of the year off to focus on his growing family.
Congratulations to Matt and Luciana! I like the name they picked, Gia Zavala, with an exotic middle name. Luciana was born in Argentina and I wonder if Zavala is a family name or what significance it has.

It’s a unique and lovely name. It’s also nice they didn’t name her after a piece of fruit, star system or planet or inanimate object.
