when Katie Holmes did her marathon after having a baby, she didn’t make it a point to brag to the media and blurt out every detail to get attention. JLO always has to open her big hole and let everyone know how much she has and how much better her life is than everyone else’s. Screw her and her flat nosed pig face with hoop earrings. Maybe she should stop eating so much and feed her husband a little. Her kids are very cute but so are all babies. Give me a break JLO….don’t try and compare yourself to an actual athlete who is accomplishing so much for our country instead of showing off to the media how you lost your baby weight!

Yeah . . . I dislike the woman because she told the world that she’s doing “a triathlon” – without any sort of disambiguation or clarification that she is actually doing a “sprint triathlon.” (Which is still an accomplishment, but if you give anyone 3 months and a private personal trainer 5 times a week, you’d still be able to do it. Trust me. I have faith in you. )

She may have said some depricating comments to friends in jest, but when she’s as big of star as she is (or at least as big as she thinks she is) one would hope she would practice some self-restraint when on the set of a popular/publicized tv show. That kind of humor seldom reads well with us “groundlings”, and for someone who has spent ages in the business and hundreds of thousands on self-promotion, she ought to know better.

This is an absolute joke. I am so sick and tired of these whinning Hollywood actors trying to get attention. We have to suffer through their feeble attempts at it from dating and sleeping with everyone in sight…JUST FOR THE ATTENTION….getting pregnant…JUST FOR THE ATTENTION……spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on clothing and accessories JUST FOR THE ATTENTION…and have you noticed, they all seem to have some trauma in their past…JUST FOR THE ATTENTION…multiple divorces….JUST FOR MORE ATTENTION. I am absolutely sick of it especially in light of what is going on in the world. Very few of them remain humble. Very few of them even remember how it was before they became a star. Selfish, imature, superficial, waste of flesh. J-Lo how about getting a clue? Everything is not about you. For you to slight this young mans accomplishments is as low as it gets. And when you fail at this (an you will fail) with your stylist and publisist following you around, then it will be time to hide away for some secret Lipo sessions…in the end…JUST FOR THE ATTENTION!!! Same old crap from them…only a different day!!

I got my SELF magazine in the mail, and she’s on the cover, and she’s the feature “celebrity”. She was named the “SELF 2008 Most Inspiring Woman of the Year”. I think that’s stretching it a bit. I do admire her for wanting to get back in shape, and she does emphasize the role of parents in providing a good example for our kids by being fit. But in the article she goes on and on about how proud her twins will be of her accomplishment (doing the tri) before they are even one year old. Well, sorry if I don’t share your (and SELF’s) enthusiasm, Mrs. Lopez. I work a full-time job and went back to work when my son was three months old, and I had to work very hard to lose the baby weight, especially since I was still nursing. If I didn’t have a job and my husband could afford to take 6 months or a year off of work, then sure, I would be able to carve out some time to train for a triathlon. But for us, it was back to the old grind. I still exercised, before, during and after my pregnancy, but her satisfaction at her accomplishment came across as a bit smug to me. Show me a real woman, working a real job, with a real life (i.e., non-celebrity) who does a tri (even a sprint-tri) and then I’ll be impressed. I actually have always liked Jennifer Lopez but this SELF article, the title of “Most Inspiring Woman” and the whole bit just came across as really self-righteous to me. Actually I wondered “how much did she pay SELF magazine to grant her that title”?
