Orlando Bloom steps out for baby Flynn’s first father-son photo op

fp_6604289_bloomorlando_babysister_fp7_23_58

These photos will likely be hitting all of the sweet spots for all of you Orly-loonies out there. It even hit my sweet spot, and I’m not a fan of Orlando Bloom. So days after Miranda Kerr posted the first photo of their newborn baby Flynn, Orly decided to do a paparazzi walk with his son and his sister, Samantha. The baby is very well-behaved in these photos – Flynn’s all “Daddy, can we go back home to mama’s boobs now?”

I also wanted to correct some misconceptions some of you might have had about my thoughts on Miranda Kerr and her blog post. Miranda said that she had a natural childbirth with no painkillers, and I made a crack about how she sounded like a “less judgy Gisele”. My mental association was with between the two supermodels, and specifically Gisele Bundchen and her mother-superior act about everything involving natural childbirth to breastfeeding to diapers. I’m fine with every woman making their own choice about those kinds of things, and the only problem I have is when someone like Gisele is saying that EVERY woman should do things the way she does, because she is The Mother Superior. My joke was just that – my quick little association on the subject matter. Miranda is nothing like Gisele in personality or judgy-ness.

Back to Orly and the baby – so, so cute. And Orly looks so proud and happy. Adorable.

“Sweet spot”? Ohhhhhhhh, for a second I thought you meant…well, never mind.

I guess these photo-ops are meant to reflect well on the “gee what a wonderful daddy” and I hope he is in private as well.

I hope this baby isn’t going to be dragged out for every paparazzi opp out there…I hope these two have a bit of sense. Didn’t Miranda talk about living in Oz and organic veggies and hammocks and normal stuff???
    Run, Flynn, run

Come on he is totally using his baby for publicity, it’s not like he has a career. Same for his wife and the breastfeeding pic. Poor kid.

Oh FFS, every mommy & daddy is perfectly justified in wanting to show off their brand-new baby. Neither Orly or Miranda needs to use their kid as a career boost.

Anyhoo, this picture just makes me what my Bean to hurry up & get here! (Rhetorically speaking of course, I want him to brew as long as he needs to)

Harsh, but probably fair! Orlando hasn’t made a decent film since playing about 8th fiddle to Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Jack Davenport, Mackenzie Crook, et al… in the first Pirates movie, and she’s the least sexy Victoria’s Secret angel ever – seriously these girls should have you questioning your sexuality, not make you feel like a dirty old (wo)man perving at a mid-pubescent…

    The baby’s still cute though!

@Bodhi; Are you kidding of course they need a career boost, MK is an aging VS model and OB is now a C+ movie star. They’re 100 % famewhores.

  16. Bodhi says:

I most certainly am not kidding. Allow me to reiterate: every mommy & daddy is perfectly justified in wanting to show off their brand-new baby.

What are they supposed to do? Hide in their house & never take the kid outside because a few jaded celeb watchers think their careers are fading? They are both rich as hell & neither one of them ever has to work again. They are both fairly private people; the only “famewhore” thing about Orly was Kate Bosworth. And MK is 28 & if that is “aging” so help us all.

…yeah, it’s a definite publicity stunt, but at least they released the first pic and considerably lowered the pararazzi’s take.

These are also such amazingly heart-warming photos that who cares why they exist?!

Ugh, I need to get out of the house more–I’m so stuck in Mommy mode right now (I’m on maternity leave with a 3yr old and a 6wk old in the Midwest where it’s snowing and cold as sh*t–I don’t get out much!). The only thing I could think when I saw these pics was, “OMG–support that baby’s head!” and “Where’s his carseat/carrier/baby wrap?”

Seriously sweet pictures! I love the way little baby bodies just snuggle right into you! Makes me wish mine little one was that little again… then I remember how much I enjoy getting 6 straight hours of sleep a night now! ;) Very happy for the new parents!

    Adorable pics.

It’s obviously a photo op but I can’t see how a movie actor is going to get a job from pics of him walking around a park with his baby. I agree with Bodhi, I think Orly just wants to show the world his new son.

I think this is a much better option then whoring themselves out to OK magazine for a cheesy photo-shoot and interview.

And didn’t Orlando turn down a role in the new Pirates of the Caribbean? If he was using these photos as publicity because he was looking for work – wouldn’t he have just accepted that role when it was offered?

Mr. Bloom looks really happy and content. Congratulations. I agree, they probably want to get the paps thing out of the way and maybe just give mommy a break. Either way, I respect this so much better than SELLING their baby pictures to some rag mag for cash.

If those jeans slipped just an inch or two lower I’d give these photos 5 stars. Cute pics of father/baby bonding though. For the record, that woman isn’t Samantha Bloom it’s Miranda Kerr’s mom. Sam is quite a bit younger and doesn’t wear spanx with her leggings.

@Renee Alford ~ Good eye! My grandpa didn’t wear his, but he worked in & around heavy machinery for 50 years & could’ve gotten his finger pulled off if he had. Something tells me Orly doesn’t have that problem
