Jodie Foster in Armani: gorgeous or boring?

Paris Fashion Week is in full swing, and yesterday was the big Armani show. Jodie Foster showed up, which always surprises me. Not that I don’t know that she’s a big fan of Armani – she is. She usually wears Armani for formal events. What surprises me is that I always think she’s “above” appearances at fashion shows and that kind of thing. But she’s not above it – and she’s certainly not above it when she’s got a film coming out that will likely sink like the Titanic. That movie? Oh, just a little film called The Beaver, starring Mel Gibson. And Jodie hasn’t stepped down from her support of Mel either, or taken back her statements (I will love this man for the rest of my life) supporting him. So perhaps some nice personal appearances are in order.

Anyway, Jodie is dressed in Armani, of course. I love it. So feminine and pretty, yet business classy. Perfect for Jodie. Also – I really like what she’s done to her hair too.

It looks as comfortable as wearing a roll of duct tape.

However, I just love her as an actress.

Morning, Kaiser! I like the suit but it does not seem to be fitting too well in the hips region. Very wrinkly. And what has Ms. Foster done to her hair, pray tell, that you like so much? Pulled it back hastily after she got out of the shower? A little casual upsweep might be nicer. But I love Jodie, no matter. She da man.

  3. Jayna says:

Very pretty and classy for her age.

  4. WhiteNoise says:

Gorgeous, understated, lovely detail on the ruffle which gives it a very chic and soft finish. Go Jodie.

  5. Anna says:

As much as I love and respect Jodie Foster as an artist, I will not go see The Beaver. Mel Gibson has definitely crossed a line for me and I refuse to spend any more money on any of his works, past, present or future. But, it’s actually nice that Jodie will stick to her guns when it comes to her friends. That’s not a bad quality to have, even if from the outside, this looks misguided when it concerns Mel Gibson.

I love what she’s wearing there, but her hair looks awful! So flat and blah and like she didn’t bother with it at all. She’d look gorgeous with a well-shaped longer bob but this is just, no.

    looks fabulous!!

  7. RHONYC says:

    hello 1989. 🙂

  8. khaveman says:

Love her look — and she hasn’t jacked her face. Just pretty from head to toe.

  9. brin says:

It looks good on her and suits her.

  10. tracking says:

Certainly tasteful, but a little matronly “ladies who lunch” for my taste. She is fit and attractive, does not need to go that route.

  11. Oi says:

could be better, but its not bad.

  12. samihami says:

Very pretty. I like this look for her.

  13. Quest says:

Not bad, it is not to much but simple chic. Liking it.

  14. blinkblue says:

The perfect picture of aging gracefully and beautifully. Gorgeous.

  15. poopie says:

she’s not aging well; looks like she’s lost alot of weight. her face looks ‘severe’. i love her though!

  16. JB says:

Boring for sure. She is one of those woman who got better looking the older she got. Like Lindsay or Demi.

  17. jrt says:

I love that velvet jacket she has on top of the dress

  18. OtherChris says:

The outfit is amazing and she looks great. I like her hair down though; it’s just more flattering on her.

  19. anti says:

ever since she’s defended mel, i’ve lost the love for jodie.

  20. Brooke says:

    beautiful.

  21. mln76 says:

The black looks stunning with her pale skin but the outfit is a little too matronly.

  22. betty says:

Boring. She must have left her cane in the limo, or hurst – overly mature, even for stick up your ass Jody.

  23. Isabel says:

I think it’s perfect. Form fitting but still modest with a touch of flair. Awesome.

  24. machiavelli says:

I would love to see this outfit on Sofia Vergara. She will wear the heck out of it!!! Its all in the attitude, baby 😉

  25. Deven says:

She looks too old too early. There’s no reason she couldn’t look more youthful and well-dressed at the same time. Her hair makes her look like her own grandmother. She’s just too young to look so old!!

  26. adtwah says:

I can tolerate the “ladies who lunch” dress, but the hair has got to go. It’s too short and severe.

  27. mary jane says:

Jodie’s always been a little conservative in her outfits.. I actually think this was her being a little sexy.
She looks classy and comfortable to me.

  28. Rosanna says:

She looks great (slim, sexy, classy) in this outfit. Congrats Jody!!!

  29. carrie says:

very nice for her but i dislike her hair

  30. DGO says:

She looks like she’s balding, plus the colour (hair and suit) is too dark for her.

  31. wunderkindt says:

Looks ok, classy, but a little too ‘old’/school marmish. Jodie should show a bit more skin!

  32. TXCinderella says:

She is starting to show signs of ageing, but she still looks very good for her age. Not too fond of the hair roll though.

  33. Rachael says:

    Gorgeous. Perfect. Love it.

  34. Stubbylove says:

Gorg – hair could use some help though.

  35. Hakura says:

I don’t care for this look. I think because of how ‘busy’ it gets on her chest… satiny ruffles, what appears to be velvet, then a shiny pencil skirt…

It’s distracting & too much going on at once. She could’ve gone without the ruffles, started with a simple ensemble, then used some dramatic accessories.

  36. Str8Shooter says:

She looks wonderful…nice to see a woman in Tinseltown aging gracefully instead of looking like the puppet Madam for a change…

That being said, I have lost all respect for this woman for repeatedly standing by the racist, homophobic, misogynistic Mel Gibson…time and time again. Especially considering she is a lesbian. I guess money trumps all in Hollywood.

  37. hairball says:

I won’t see The Beaver either out of principle. And while I do not understand it, I do have respect for someone who will stand by who she considers a good friend no matter what.

She has a lot to lose by staying by her friend and believes he’s worth standing by.

I don’t think he is, but I can’t help but respect that.

  38. hairball says:

Her dress is way too oldish though. She could have dressed A LOT better. Does Betty White wear such drab old lady dresses??

  39. jj says:

Skirt’s not the best but the top half is gorgeous.

  40. bagladey says:

    Boring.

  41. mimi says:

I love the Foster and think she looks fantastic but I will not be going to see The Beaver either. I understand why she’s standing by her friend-because we’ve all had friends who have done some messy shit but that doesn’t mean that I have to support Mel by seeing the film.

  42. JenJen says:

I am surprised to see her in something frilly but she looks good.

  43. Cherry Rose says:

I’d definitely wear that. It’s really beautiful and classy at the same time.

  44. Anti-icon says:

Gorgeous. Just saw her 2007 movie The Brave One on cable. It was really good.

  45. original kate says:

she looks lovely, IMO. but i admit ever since jodie came out in support of mad mel and his misogynistic, anti-semitic ravings i have lost some of my love for her. and that makes me sad.

  46. REALIST says:

Armani and Jodie always seem like a great match. I have never seen her look bad in Armani….

  47. Mistral says:

    Thumbs up.

  48. beanie says:

She looks lovely! A classy lady who doesn’t have to resort to a jacked up face, hair extentions and a skirt so short you can see what she had for lunch. Although I don’t agree with her on Mel, I do admire her for standing her ground on her own opinion.

  49. Catherine says:

She has always dressed in a conservative and classic style forever. I don’t see anything wrong with it as it suits her. I wouldn’t wear it but it’s not like it is hideous.

  50. Ruffian9 says:

I like the suit. Her hair needs some help. Maybe a long bob, loose and wavy around her face, a soft side swept bang?
    Love the natural pale skin.

  51. Mouse says:

Classy? Yes. Good looking? Yes. Gorgeous? Not the word I’d choose.

  52. Hakura says:

@Str8shooter (36)- That being said, I have lost all respect for this woman for repeatedly standing by the racist, homophobic, misogynistic Mel Gibson…time and time again. Especially considering she is a lesbian. I guess money trumps all in Hollywood.

I hadn’t even *thought* about the fact that she’s a lesbian.. jeez. How can she support this disgusting bastard?

@Hairball (37)- And while I do not understand it, I do have respect for someone who will stand by who she considers a good friend no matter what.

I just find it sad… it’s just that this isn’t a *rumor* about Mel… There’s solid proof that he’s really what everyone says he is. And as Str8shooter brought up, she’s a lesbian, supporting a man who’s openly homophobic. I’ve lost all respect for her… & the gay community really should too.

  53. Nibbi says:

    gorgeous, smart, and classy.

ballsy enough to stick up for someone even tho it won’t make her very popular.

    hasn’t jacked up her face.

    love her.

  54. dj says:

Love Jodie Foster. Love this outfit! But Mel Gibson in a movie called “The Beaver!” I just can’t.
