Wow, I was a fan of Keifer Sutherland before, but even more so now… Who knew, he’s smart and good at acting, and he is absolutely correct! Celebrities DO get paid way too much, doctors, teachers, professionals that save lives and educate should get paid a lot more. This situation only strengthens the Conspiratorial evidence that the Power Elite are attempting to keep the masses uneducated.

Wow! You sure know what to say to make people love you! That’s a lot spent on— gasoline? I make $27,000 a year in Human Services, which pays for my transportation back and forth to work, food, phone. I could really be in the black if I could teach part time, right?
Maybe even be able to afford rent.
But you earn your keep with the company because you make a lot of money for them. That’s why I think that Human Services should diversify into business industries more. Even the government should do that. I heard that the people that make the most money are entertainment, religious leaders, sales and of course people like Warren Buffet.
Tax payers really are the ones who fund jobs relating to Human Services: Teachers, social workers, fireman, policeman, and job developers, like myself. But guess what?! Wealth isn’t going to matter eventually; that’s a nanotechnology riff. You can google it if you are interested and find a book on line about it. Can you imagine a one trillionth of a dollar store. That’s how much of the advancements in nanotechnology will cost since it is about chemistry on a molecular level.
That’s when Jesus will be back.

Thanks for thinking of and addressing the economic pathos of middle America. Just think of all the other people who work for minimum wage or in sweat shops in foreign countries. There’s alot to what you said. You are a nice guy!

I agree, actors paid are way way way too much but to admit it like Keith Sutherland did is honest. You don’t see Brad Pitt, Conney, Cruise,, Nicolas Cage, Jennifer Lopez, Jolie, Tom Hanks, and hundreds more admitting it, they accept it and run with the money but don’t forget royalities, they all get royalities on all the movies too. An actor only comes in the film and acts but after the film is a rap, actors leave and go to the next film, everybody behind the set is making $10.00 an hour with no royalities at all. Imagine getting paid a royality an actor playing a film 15 years ago and still getting checks. Imagine getting checks on all sorts of films but the people behind the set, get nothing. Such a sad sad story.

America over pays people, that’s why we are in a recession and why where have more jobs going to China because the cost are too much to employ in this country.

I have to disagree. You’re only paid what someone thinks your efforts are worth. If you disagree with their assessment, you’re free to take another job, or go to work for yourself, or find ways to make your KSA’s more valuable.

In his defense, he lives in a different world than most of us, the expectations are different, so he spends more. That’s true of people who live in poorer areas of a city compared to more upper middle class areas.
And as Megan pointed out, this is Capitalism right here: you earn based on the money you make. If a movie earns 100 million dollars, then it is reasonable for its star to make 20 million as a salary.
I agree that other professions deserve a much higher salary. However demanding that Keifer Sutherland supply it is unrealistic.
It is up to us as a society to reward the professions we feel give to us the most.

I hardly think its a big deal that he’s “nice” to his fans who want to take a picture of him. The fans are the ones who make it possible for him to earn all that $$$$$$$$$.
And 34,000/month in expenses…..I mean, I like “stuff” too, but what could one possibly need day in and day out to rack up 34,000 per month…..

This guy is the nicest person you will ever meet. I saw him in sand diego and he was so kind! he waited for me to dig my camera out of my huge suitcase and he signed an autograph! SUPER NICE!!
