Then again...I cannot argue that her anger is unjustified. The man is a pig. Were he my father, I'd want to clock the shit out of him, too, and it wouldn't be because I'm ill. There is no such thing as "getting over" the pain from our childhoods that was inflicted by the selfishness of our parents. There is no such thing as "getting over" two parents divorcing. It changes...and rarely for the better...the course of the kid's entire life. We watch our parents destroy our homes, ignore us as they go off in the throes of love to date and remarry, ignore us again when they decide to procreate with the new spouse and go all ga-ga with happiness over how they've "overcome" the mistake of the first marriage and achieved the perfect family. We spend our childhoods living from suitcases juggled between two homes with different rules...with siblings that are not and do not consider us actual siblings living by yet a different set of rules--often stricter than ours--which creates resentment between all parties. When we're adults, the lack of closeness only continues. We're always the odd man out. We're always the one that causes seating arrangement problems. We never have our family all together in one place. We never belonged ANYWHERE when we were growing up, and so we don't get to be close to the ones who DID belong as adults. But yeah. I suppose she should be over that by now. It's a vicious childhood. Even when divorce is the lesser of two evils when compared with having stayed in the marriage...it's a vicious thing to do to a kid. And THIS woman...this woman's dad murdered her stepmother, abandoned her own mother, and now lives like a playboy flaunting all his worst qualities everywhere he goes. If that were my father, I'd want to kill him, too. People with JUSTIFIED anger don't need therapy. Granted, it's not good to throw someone into plate glass, but then...I think there are some situations where I would call that act a "momentary lapse of self-control" instead of a sign that anger management is needed. If she spends her entire life in a pattern of depression and rage, then I have no argument with the, "Honey, you need serious help," point of view. Otherwise...allow people to feel their feelings without trying to put a negative label on it. Yes, it sounds like this young lady MIGHT need therapy. I'm not sure about Kim Kardashian's dad. I remember him talking about his father being upset because he felt his son was aiding a killer knowingly.
