Victoria: Thank you so much for the encouraging words and truly inspirational story. I am so deeply sorry for you son’s loss (he sounds terrific). I am always amazed by the courage of parents who have lost a child, and also by how inspiring and IMPORTANT a child’s life can be to others no matter how short.
My temper is still touch-and-go (LOL), although my resolve is staying firm.
I will definately keep your son’s words in mind if I feel weak in the future.

She looks about 45 in that top picture, EGADS! Someone needs to moisturize and put some cucumber slices on those eyes. Or maybe stay home and watch The L Word or something! Her whole family is messed up!

Oh, and I forgot, on Paul Sullivan, he should have thought about his ” mothers despair and sad eyes ” as he was going about committing his fraud… Maybe then he would not be in this mess. I wonder who will cough up the $$$$$.. Dina ? Lindsay ? I’m sure someone in that messed up family will bail him out. They usually do in the long run.

GO…GO….GO..GO..GO.. CZARINA.. YOU CAN DO IT……. My mother stopped almost 19 years now, cold turkey, and the first 2 to 3 weeks were the worse… She did it because my 9 year old son at that time, who had leukemia, asked her to stop. ( he passed away 11-29-89 ) He called her ” guma” and she had smoked since she was 17 years old. Later she told me that when she looked down at his litle bald head, he said ” guma, if you want cancer that bad, you can have mine ” because St. Jude can’t fix it. ( the hospital in memphis ).This was 7 months before he passed away, and she STOPPED that day. She cleaned the entire house, including curtains, carpet, threw ashtrays away, and when she could not rid the smell from her car, she traded it. And has never looked back. In honor of her Grandson. So you go girl…… I only told you this, because it is the best for YOU and your CHILDREN….. In honor of YOURSELVES, and a healthy life…….

JMC; My point,
“Sullivan’s lawyer, Joseph Conway of Garden City, argued before sentencing that while his client was a college graduate, he had a difficult time finding work after his arrest in 2005 and had been receiving public assistance, occasionally being employed as a security guard.”

His lawyer was pointing out that even though he had an education, he had to stoop to work as a security guard, to gain sympathy from the judge, (awww poor guy) to justify his crimes to gain leniency in sentencing.

I think we agree he is a poor excuse for a human.

gg: Thanks! I went through the cutting down stage and am at the cold turkey point. Unfortunately, I am also on vacation at the moment, and wihtout the distraction of work it’s a lot harder.
But my kids really want me to quit and I want to set a good example for them, so I am very motivated.

That is not at all what the article said. It meant that despite having a degree, which usually makes getting a job easier, he still had trouble finding one.

Anyway, what a sicko. Too bad he’ll never know the pain the families of 9/11 victims feel…that would be justice.

First off, I DO feel sorry for Lindsay, being surrounded by this terrible family.
It isn’t her fault, and in fact the main harm she has ever caused has been to herself (and she has and is paying for it, if you think of where her career is now).
As for Paul Sullivan. What kind of person tries to cash in and take advantage of the tragic deaths of hundreds of people? Sickening. I hope he goes to jail and rots.
(yes, my attempt at the new “trying to be better and less judgmental person” has given way to the “trying to quit smoking and willing to lash out at strangers” person. Hopefully in a few weeks I will have regained my equalibrium. In the meantime, better to take out my bad mood on nasty pieces of work like Michael Lohan and Paul Sullivan than anyone I actually know!!LOL)
