These are some photos from Monday’s Academy Awards luncheon. Can I just say something? God bless Natalie Portman’s bitchface. I’m being completely sincere. If she’s not holding a trophy, Natalie looks totally and completely over it. Yes, I know, she’s probably uncomfortable and she probably wants to get out of those shoes and she probably wants to just sit on the couch eating vegan bacon (Is that a thing? It should be.). I know Natalie has a very good reason to be wearing a bitchface for months on end – she’s creating the creation. I get it. But I still love that she’s so bad an actress that she can’t even grin and bear it with good humor for the cameras. The camera always catches her bitchface, whether it is the “natural bitchface” (as many of us have as our default expression), or whether it is true discomfort and true bitchiness. Anyway, the dress is Lanvin. I think it’s really pretty – the color compliments her bitchface beautifully.
Also – maybe Natalie is upset that her fiance Benjamin Millepied came across like an unprofessional famewhore (emphasis on the whore) in a New York Times profile a few days ago. Yet another reason to wear this season’s must have accessory: the bitchface.
Oh, and here’s Nicole Kidman, wearing Yves Saint Laurent drapes, I think. No, the dress is YSL, a label that is an old favorite of Nicole’s. Nicole put on her game face and she looks much happier to be at the luncheon than Natalie. I hate the faux-halter cut of the top of the dress, but I actually love this color and print on Nicole. It makes her look younger – the holy grail for Nicole.

Portman looks good but i guess her pregnancy isn’t easy and she may be more pregnant than we thought because her bully yet is huge for a 5/6 months pregnancy

Well maybe had she left the belt off, Natalie’s dress would have had a better hemline.
And Nicole looks incredible. And the third lip is not there. Maybe the lip filler is finally diminishing. She looks happy which seems to be rare for her on the red carpet. Good for her.

I’m guessing this pics were taken right at the start of the event and Natalie went a half size larger for her shoes than normal to allow for swelling.
I’m not preggo but I almost always go half a size up when I have a big standing event; you’ve got to think the swelling is more intense in her case.

Teal is great on NP. I love Nicole BUT I think she doesn’t know how to dress for her body type! She should get dropped waist dresses (her torso is *short*)and none (or few) of those frills she likes so much. In short: she needs to stop channelling Helena Bonham Carter when she doesn’t have her body or her attitude.

I don’t know if you caught this at the Oscars luncheon or not, but Nicole said something pretty interesting in light of a certain ex’s child. I immediately thought of all your “Suri dresses her mother” headlines.
To paraphrase… Nicole told reporters that Sunday Rose has very strong opinions about which dresses are pretty… and that she will, more or less, be picking out Nicole’s Oscar dress.

Lose the shoes both of you. I tend to give Natalie a pass- being preggers on the red carpet and seriously uncomfortable must suck. Nicole looks physically better but really needs a good friend/stylist to tell her “JUST NO” on most of her clothes.

Again- I feel the need to defend pregnant women here. It is really hard to find decent fitting, attractive clothes that don’t make you look like a blueberry. Pregnant celebs should either get a free pass from being picked on, or be allowed to wear elastic waist sweatpants on the red carpet.

Nat’s dress is a pretty color, but I think it looks sloppy. It’s so wrinkly.
I believe she’s four or five months along. Every women show differently and sometimes small women start showing really early because they have no where to hide the baby lol.
When I was five months pregnant someone told me I looked like I was about to pop. I cried because I knew I was only about to get bigger. I think I weighed a around 125.

I think Portman must be 6 months along for the simple reason that she is somewhat traditional about Judaism and I always thought that they wouldn’t announce a pregnancy until at least the 4th month.
I love the color of Nicole’s dress.
EDIT: Oh and the Miliepied article was the closest the Times comes to a Page Six type gossip article especially the detailed account of how he kept the writer waiting and less than flattering accounts from other people in the Ballet world. Yup he’s definitely a high-end K-Fed.

OK dress but terrible shoes on Nicole.. you don’t wear red shoes with a red dress! Natalie looks very nice but her dress looks like a sac, no shape to it at all and the botom front is shorter than the back.. a classic problem if a pregnant lady wears non-pregnancy dresses just because they fit. And who the heck picks her shoes? Doesn’t her stylist know her size?

The hemline of Natalie’s dress is funky, but I really like the color and her shoe accents. I bet she is uncomfortable. I have never been pregnant, but from what I understand it is physically demanding.
I like Nicole’s dress also, beautiful color! Would have been better in an opaque fabirc, IMO. She should *never* wear white or cream. I would love to see her wear her hair curly again!

Some girls like to get one size bigger in shoes that have a pretty high heel. You can see this on a lot of red carpets and just about any shoe that V. Beckham wears. It does make it more comfortable, which I’m sure that’s why NP is wearing it like that. Stilettos and preggie belly is not the most comfy combo.
Also, I think this is the best she’s looked preggie.

MSat: I give a pass to every day pregger women who have to deal with so much but come on how can you give a pass to her? She has very little do and has more than enough money to get custom made clothes. I’ve seen plenty of preg celebs look amazing because the truth is the dress is rather cute, it’s the bitch face we are all commenting on.
Which, I’m actualy growing very fond of … it makes me laugh so hard at the fact Kaiser hit the nail on the head. I don’t think it’s that she can’t put on a fake smile because she’s a bad actress I think it’s more like “I don’t care and I won’t be smilling for you bitches”. She’s seriously growing on me for that reason alone …
