I love how Aretha scolded her like a child! If that’s her reason for not showing up then she’s extremely immature. We don’t always get our way in life! Besides the tribute was great without her.

Aretha’s just old, your skin gets looser. Not that I know anything about this. I don’t know if I would use repugnant to describe her. She’s just a fat old lady with a lot of talent and, from this put-down of Fantasia, a lot of class.
Fantasia is one of many people who I would like to buy for what they’re worth and sell for what they think they’re worth.
Richie looks pretty. Too thin for Marilyn, if that’s who she’s going for. Very pretty though. She’s come a long way from that silly little show she did w/Paris.

We were at the United Negro College Fund event and sat close to Aretha. When Fantasia sang, she kicked off her shoes, walked out into the audience and sang her guts out. Queen Aretha was blowing her kisses and clapped long for her; in fact, our impression was that Fanta was a favorite of hers. In fact, the crowd gave her one of the biggests ovations. We’ve never watched Am Idol, and can’t stand most of the idol “singers” that have come out of that show, but we were blown away by Fanta.
I love Aretha, she always worked her butt off even as a very young single mother. These girls have no idea how good they have it made.
I don’t think I have ever seen Drew Barrymore with a good looking guy! Why? I hope she finally finds an interesting, smart and funny one. She’s so sweet but the ones she picks are always odd choices. Not that looks are all that matter but none that I remember had anything great about them at all.

I do like Fanta, & could understand (given her prior experiences with Aretha) why she was upset that she wasn’t invited to do the tribute.
However. As Aretha makes clear, choosing not to accept an award because you didn’t get your way on something else… Is the action of a spoiled child. It was rude, period.
Yes, Aretha is a hot mess in these pictures. But she paid her dues decades before I was even born, so she’s one of the few that gets a complete pass from me in regards to fashion. =)
Ugh – Aretha Franklin. Horrible Horrible woman. I think she sings terrible, has an attitude problem and is just repulsive to the eyes.
