Us Weekly: “Psycho” Alex Pettyfer uninvited from Oscar parties

wenn3199781

Alex Pettyfer has a bad reputation. It’s not the standard issue “Hollywood Bad Boy” reputation either. Because the kid is so relatively unknown, untested, and unproven, the portrait being formed of Pettyfer amongst gossip circles is quite sinister, and it could seriously have long-lasting effects on his career. People are throwing around words like “psycho” and “predator” – along with “unprofessional” and “douche” and “immature”. I don’t know… I’ve almost started feeling bad for the kid. Maybe that’s because I don’t know what he’s really like, and I kind of feel like there’s an anti-Pettyfer campaign being waged here. Or hey, maybe the kid really is just horrible. Anyway, Us Weekly reports that given the underperformance of Beastly and I Am Number Four, plus Alex’s growing reputation as a psycho douche, Alex was uninvited from the Oscar parties in Hollywood:

Beastly behavior, indeed! A source tells the new issue of Us Weekly (on stands now) that actor Alex Pettyfer, 20 — who flew into a jealous rage at a West Hollywood club February 18 over ex Dianna Agron — has become persona non grata in the motion-picture biz.

“His agents told him not to go to the February 26 Night Before party,” a source says of the event, which Agron, 24, attended.

Just two days earlier, Pettyfer nearly missed the premiere of Beastly after his Beverly Hills home caught fire; the blaze was put out in under 24 minutes.

The insider adds Pettyfer’s agents may fire him, since his volatile actions “have become a liability.”

For now at least, a William Morris rep tells Us that the British I Am Number Four star “is still a client.”

[From Us Weekly]

Yeah, I couldn’t find any photos of Alex out and about on Oscar weekend. Maybe he was still dealing with the aftermath of his house fire (that he may have set, for all we know). But I know that “Alex is still a client” isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement, and that Alex is pretty much “on notice” as we speak. He screws up one more time, pitches one more fit, goes psycho at one more party, and he will no longer have a place in Hollywood.

  1. That’s too bad because he is still so young. He’s a cutie and I hope things get better for him.

  2. Cherry Rose says:

    I don’t think Alex is a pyromaniac. If he is, he’s a very stupid and amateurish one. I’ve known several pyromaniacs, and for the most part, none of them have ever torched their homes they personally have owned (except one, but that was when he was a kid).

    Usually, they get off on setting fires to other people’s houses or businesses, or torching fields, or someone’s property. One person I knew set fire to a business that had apartments in the upper floors of it downtown at night.

    So it just puzzles me to why the hell he would torch his own home.

    Oh, just for a warning to everyone, I’m having a manic episode, so I apologize for any long comments or anything strange sounding in my comments. I’m just really superfocused and talkative right now, so again, I apologize.

  3. cara says:

    To me this smacks of a ping pong game between the pettyfer and agron camps. Who knows if their relationship was real or not but its over-allegedly because of a photoshoot. That claim made agron seem like a harpy-soon after the “psycho” stories came out. Just before this “news” agron was allegedly flirting with chris evans. Must be hella awkward since she fired all her people and went with his.

  4. glamour86 says:

    I think that people are very mean: we don’t know him, maybe he is not so good but we can’t be sure about that. He is very young, there are a lots of young actors in Hollywood doing worst things!! Call him ‘psycho’ is very cruel!!!! I hope he will get better, I think he is a good actor, he needs time to improve his acting because he is still a young guy. But please, stop calling him in that bad ways…it is terrible. Alex keep going on!!!!!!!!!!

  5. brin says:

    Wow….even Charlie Sheen gets treated better.

  6. Hollowdoll says:

    If it is true, I am glad they are calling him on it. Hopefully it will be a warning to others, that certain behavior will not be accepted.

  7. mln76 says:

    He seems to have poisoned the well with his behavior well before the breakup with Argon so that his own reps aren’t willing to support him. The most telling thing in the story is that William Morris’s statement is so terse. Could it be that Hollywood is sick of bad boys and isn’t willing to have another Charlie Sheen or Mel Gibson on their hands?

  8. Hautie says:

    “Alex is pretty much “on notice” as we speak. He screws up one more time, pitches one more fit, goes psycho at one more party, and he will no longer have a place in Hollywood.”
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    hahahaha! That is rich.
    We are currently in a epic media storm of Charlie Sheen. Who has displayed bad psycho behavior since 1985.
    But some how this 20 year old is getting kicked out of LA for being too psycho?
    Wait, was Popeater the source of this info? hahahaha! Oh wait it is US Weekly. *rolls eyes*
    Lets be real if this kid makes them money, he will always have an agent. Period.
  9. Hakura says:
    Was there ever any definitive proof that he really had a ‘jealous rage’ over that ex in the club? I’ve heard so many things about him from so many places that I can’t keep them all straight (or remember what came from tabloids rumors without confirmation, & what’s more likely to be true.)
    But I agree that I don’t think he set his own house on fire… That really doesn’t fit the pattern of what *most* ‘pyromaniacs’ do. From what I understand, they almost never burn their own property. So I think that’s probably a rumor that got out of control.
    I don’t know, something about him (the way he looks) bothers me. He reminds me of those stuck up jerks in highschool. But I’ve not seen his acting work.
    @Hautie“We are currently in a epic media storm of Charlie Sheen. Who has displayed bad behavior psycho since 1985. But some how this 20 year old is getting kicked out of LA for being too psycho?”
    That’s actually a good point… Perhaps if we *weren’t* currently in the midst of this epic Charlie Sheen meltdown, Alex wouldn’t be taking so much heat for his behavior. Seeing CS’ bad behavior become such a huge liability may have other Hollywood producers/directors worrying about working with anyone they think may do the same.
  10. Gggj says:
    I’m not saying he’s a great guy, but he’s getting torched. I am actually starting to feel for him. He’s getting slaughtered by the press. Vilified. I hope he’s given another chance to either change or prove he wasn’t a total douche from the start.
  11. Quest says:
    Do I hear the words – Double Standards. We all know HW is not an equal opportunity industry, but come on give the guy a break
  12. courtney says:
    oh please the only reason he was disinvited was he wasn’t the guest of a nominee and will never be noinated himself. example it would’ve been different if Joan Collins had been refused the oscar parties in 1958 it would’ve been a big deal as she was the guest of a winner
  13. MorticiansDoItDeader says:
    What guy at 20 isn’t a douche?
  14. Meanchick says:
    If this is all true, better to nip that mess in the bud right now!
  15. Jess says:
    *sigh*
  16. Frenchie says:
    @ Hautie: psycho douche behavior is condoned and even covered up in Hollywood all the time, but only for people who are valuable commodities.
    Charlie Sheen got a pass for such a long time because he was the star of the number 1 TV show in America. Alex gets a hard ride because he has yet to prove his value and simply doesn’t bring enough money in for the industry to turn a blind eye on his behavior.
    My advice to Mr Pettyfer: first, get a box office hit, THEN let your inner douche roam free.
  17. Johnny Depp's Girl says:
    I like him.. Hopefully this is all Bullsh**
  18. The Truth Fairy says:
    This reminds me of James Woods and Sean Young. She couldn’t get arrested in Hollywood after that. It killed her career.
  19. the original bellaluna says:
    Amazing that Sheen and Blohan get such a pass on their antics just because they’ve (supposedly) achieved such levels of excess. I mean “success.” Yes, that’s what I meant.
    I think Hollywood is taking out their irritation at Sheen (and maybe Blohan too, who knows) at this kid: it’s easier to throw blame/names at people who don’t have the notoriety (I mean “fame”) and/or the funds/sponsors to hire an army of attorneys.
    As far as the “under performance” of those 2 movies, I hardly think this guy is solely to blame.
    If he IS having these types of anger management issues, I hope he gets whatever help he needs to knock it the f*ck off. I’ve no tolerance for abusive people.
  20. Hammer says:
    the original bellaluna: Where do you get the idea that Lohan is getting a pass? She hasn’t worked in this town since….when? Sheen has displayed talent in the past, plus he’s got a famous dad, so he was probably given many chances….but he’s blown them. Pettyfur has nothing to stand on yet, so why invest in him when there’s a hot new thing coming to town every day?
  21. Angel says:
    Whyyy ? Oh God why…
    Hahahah
    He is so HOT!
  22. jackie says:
    We dont know the full story, true or not – but the fact is that stories about this kid have been running wild since the filming of his movie.
    Where there is smoke, there is fire… literally in his case.
  23. the original bellaluna says:
    Hammer –
    If Blohan was you or me, she’d have been in jail or a lock-down facility after her first or second (or maybe even third) violation.
    Because Blohan has had some level fame (and made some money) in the past, she’s been granted more chances and a bigger pass than any “normal” person. Despite what that judge said, the courts are obviously somewhat star-struck by her. Otherwise, she’d be suffering some REAL consequences for her very REAL actions.
  24. MsGoblin says:
    Looks like he’s got a “pee dot” in that second photo. Yuck.
  25. Hammer says:
    the original bellaluna: I’m not speaking to anyone’s legal troubles, because as far as I know, Alex doesn’t have any; the point I make has to do with how their behavior and lack of professionalism affects whether or not they get any chances in Hollywood.
  26. beth says:
    he’s probably scaring a lot of people right now with his unhinged, and thoroughly unpredictable behaviour, and his camp seems unable to help him deal with this for one reason or anyone. people who behave so well early can go OMGZONKERS in their later years (see Britney, Lohan, and now Xtina) but in their case, it seems to me a delayed response to all that straightjacketing of their natural personalities to fit and even pander to the hopes and expectations and illusions of their paying public – so much pressure (!) they were on the pedestal so we can live vicariously through them, and they know it. i bet at times, they resented us much.
    still, they have a huge reserve of love and support behind them – ah, we were friends a loooong time, you brought so much into my life, and i will forgive you your trespasses, no matter how bloated and tiresome, and support your attempts to get back to the ‘straight and narrow’
    the reality, IMO, is that we’re all got hidden a little crazy rebel streak inside of us, we’re hypocritical to penalise people who eventually let their guard down and do their thing and who stop caring about keeping up with appearances. get real – this is a human being with real complex needs.
    i really don’t know what the story is with this Pettyfer – i know what’s being reported, but believe me, it can gets very, very political after a breakup, and one commonplace douchey behaviour can get blown out of proportion.
    lots of goodlooking guys used to getting what they want can become real bitches when they don’t. add in the Y chromosome, and you can get scary, out-of-control aggression.
    but he’s barely established, he doesn’t even have a fanbase strong enough to give him the support he needs to come back.
    i don’t know how Pettyfer is going to fight for survival. If he’s got a real shred of determination and talent, and the awareness what a douche he’s been, acknowledges that and in time, turns himself around – he’ll make it back. this may be a hard, hard climb back to the highest he’s ever been.
  27. Bodhi says:
    I think this rumor mongering that he set the fire in his garage has got to stop. There is no evidence whatsoever &, as far as I can tell, it originated on this site. I think its ridiculous & irresponsible to accuse people of that kid of behavior without any proof.
    /end rant
    Anyway, I think this has all been totally blown out of proportion by folks looking to make Aragon’s good girl image.
  28. Emma says:
    This guy has Jude Law written all over him..a hot looking hot mess. Tragic. At least we can appreciate his outer beauty.
  29. bluhare says:
    He’s good looking, no doubt there, but he gives me the heebies and did before I even knew any of the psycho stuff.
  30. Hammer says:
    Emma: Jude Law never behaved unprofessionally and was never banned from anything. That’s on a different level than spoiling your relationship with an affair, which is more common behavior in Hollywood even if they don’t get caught, but that doesn’t have anything to do with volatile or psychotic behavior. That type of behavior is creepy, “Mel Gibson” behavior. Jude has always been complimented on his professionalism.
  31. Liana says:
    He’s 20. And an actor with “heart-throb” potential. Of COURSE he’s a douche. Hollywood creates monsters, then swallows them up and spits them out when they fail to behave like trained seals. And Hollywood is notorious for both minimizing and magnifying behavior.
  32. anti says:
    are you sure he’s not ke$ha’s brother or something? their faces look identical.
  33. Lisa Turtle says:
    Ugh, I wish I didn’t find him so unbelievably attractive. I feel like this guy could do serious damage to hearts across America if he could just pull it together and charm us. Stop being mean Alex! Play nice!
  34. Hakura says:
    I *still* say the reason Hollywood is putting this sort of behavior under a magnifying glass (right now) is because of Charlie Sheen imploding. Directors/producers/casting are probably paranoid about ending up with an atomic ‘self destruct’ bomb in their hands, like Charlie.
    Do we know what has been *confirmed* as being true, & what hasn’t?
  35. Gggj says:
    Hakura:
    Good question. I’d like to know that, too. The ego and difficult behaviors on set are obnoxious. But they’re not abhorrent, in HW at least. What about the more serious reports. Any proof? Any corroboration from Agron’s people?
    Did anyone watch the fox la news video of his house on fire? It shows some people moving two suitcases and some handbags out of his home. Weird, right?
  36. Camille says:
    @Liana: Agree.
    He sure is a pretty kid isn’t he. Hope his rep isn’t true.
  37. jzhz says:
    Amazed by how many people are defending him, given how many men act crazy when it comes to women, sometimes seriously harming them. Maybe this forgiving, permissive environment is why. So much willingness to give this dude the benefit of the doubt.
  38. Liana says:
    I’m not defending him. I’ve seen first hand how the Hollywood machine works, though, and it churns out douches by the truckload.
  39. Gggj says:
    Re-reading my post. I didnt intend to defend any type of malicious behavior, but I’m so suspicious of second, third and fourth hand reports. If he’s abusive, there’s no excuse. None. Off to syberia. And i’m sorry ive wasted my time and thought on him. But…what’s the real story? Is he an average ingenue ass, and some HW people with big fists have an ax to grind? Ugh. I HATE knocking sOmeone when they’re down.
  40. emma says:
    This guy is a nobody and an overhyped unproven entity. Everyone you guys are comparing him to are people who were previously successful. They cannot be compared to this guy who has never done anything successful.
  41. Molly says:
    He’s hot! I just think this is Diane’s camp trying to make him look bad.
  42. Julia says:
    How can you judge people just because of some gossips? We don´t know him. We don´t know how he feels or what is in his mind. Maybe he isn´t so great actor but are you? Did you just try play in some movie?
    Maybe he is just nervous of his carrer which is growing up and he doesn´t have best friend to talk about it.
    And you just write here all bad about Alex and maybe you are much worse.
    I keep my fingers crossed, Alex 🙂
    I believe in good inside you 🙂
  43. crtb says:
    WHAT DID HE DO????
  44. b says:
    This whole article smells like BULLSHIT. First of all doesn’t anyone think this is publicity for all his movies coming out? He’s getting more talk about himself and his crap. I don’t see why they don’t use other actors and actresses from his previous movies to confirm if he’s a psycho or not. Alex needs to ditch all the people he’s working with and hire better people who care more about money than his behavior like other stars have. Or he needs to put out a statement about all of this. I find all of this hard to believe…He simply needs better PR people who can get him a better image. Cause it’s obviously isn’t working.
  45. megan says:
    Give the guy a break!!!!!! He seems like a nice guy. I bet if you met him he would be nothing like everyone says he is. I bet hes really kind and down to earth.
  46. fiona says:
    true words from a true fan: LOVE YOU ALEX PETTYFER!!!!!! FUCK WHAT THE HATERS SAY! 😀 !!!
  47. Anonymous says:
    damn i really hope he change for the better and you know start thinking about his life and be a good boy apologize to diana (but i think she dating sebastian) and be a man dont be childish
