Rumer Willis’s tight red curls: unfortunate or cute?

closeup

Oh, honey. NO. These are photos of Rumer Willis attending some event for Badgley-Mischka last night. She changed her hair significantly. A few months ago, when she became “the face” of Badgley-Mischka, she had very, very dark brown-red hair, long and wavy. Just a few weeks ago, when Rumer was front-row at Badgley-Mischka’s runway show (with Kelly Osbourne), her hair was more red than brown, but still longer and wavy. The longer, wavy style really suits her face – it softens her unfortunate head-shape and makes her look more feminine. Last night, Rumer showed off this new hair – more red, and tight curls around the face. It is just horrible.

So, now we know – Rumer cannot do tight curls around her face. Honestly, though, I don’t think very many women could pull that hairstyle off. Which reveals the bigger problem: Rumer still doesn’t know exactly what kind of hair, makeup and fashion suits her. Which wouldn’t be newsworthy if she was just some girl, but Rumer has fashioned herself into some kind of model/actress/fashion girl/It Girl. Ugh.

I think the tight curls look fine. What exactly don’t you like about them? It’s far better than the wavy updo she sometimes wears IMO.

  2. Penguen says:

Not a fan of the hair, or the fact that she’s only around because of Hollywood nepotism.

  3. Jackson says:

Ahahaha. That’s not even a question, right? Ugh. Terrible look and the color is way too bright. Note to Rumer: the more hair you have around your face, the smaller your face looks…and you would benefit from that.

  4. serena says:

    Not good at all.
First of all the dress is horrible, like it’s from some old cabaret diva or what?
And those tiny curls don’t suit her, I prefer her with wavy long hair and not that red.. ugh.

  5. brin says:

Ugh is right…sorry but honestly she is just unfortunate.

  6. tango says:

Everything physically about Rumer Willis is unfortunate. She proves the point that 2 really great looking people can produce unattractive offspring. But bless her heart for trying.

  7. Dingles says:

It’s like sprinkling glitter on a turd, no matter how you style that girl’s hair.

  8. devilgirl says:

    GHASTLY!

  9. Andrea says:

    Answer: Unfortunate……..all around

  10. Happymom says:

She had been looking so much better-bless her heart. But that hair is horrendous-as is the dress (especially as it clashes with that hair color.)

  11. Stacy W. says:

    Another vote for unfortunate.

  12. Saskia says:

I actually don’t think Rumer Willis is ugly. She’s very unusual looking and she does have a problematic bone structure (she’s cranio-facially challenged, just like Kelly Osbourne) but she has really pretty eyes, good eyebrows, lovely skin and nice teeth. She just needs to learn to stand up straight and close her goddamn mouth in photos, and to never ever do this or anything like it to her hair ever again.

Also, I suspect that dress might be a repurposed housecoat stolen from the estate of Rosemary Clooney.

  13. luls says:

uggh, i think that wat she needs to get rid of first, is that arm-pit hair! gross

  14. Andrea says:

Yes, I agree close your damn mouth….her, Jennifer Lopez (who looks like she smelled a fart when she does it) and Kim Kardashian. Someone has told them they look sexy, but that ain’t the case.

  15. EdithP says:

    Does she ever smile?

  16. Little.grrl.lost says:

This is what Bruce Willis looks like in a dress.

  17. Someone Else says:

If I was obsessed with perfection and my child’s face was out of proportion, I surely wouldn’t encourage her to try to be a beauty icon… unless maybe the attacks on my child made me feel better about my own narcissistic self.

Rumer seems like a nice girl, but I think the parents should’ve encouraged an alternate vocation for her to pursue.

  18. Ell says:

    Wow.

  19. sam says:

    …..unfortunate….

  20. whybenice says:

Sometimes the genetic pool is downright cruel. You can get the best of both parents or the worst. Enough said. Go do something Rumer instead of being the wish I were famous kid of two pretty good actors.

  21. fabchick says:

I am sorry but she is not cute at all. Like it or not Americans are superficial. I don’t think she gonna go far with her career, the jobs that she has had so far were due to mommy and daddys name. Actress. Um no. Whoever sold her that dream lied to her. Bless her heart. But no.

  22. malachais says:

I think the red hair looks OK, although that specific red tone is pretty hard to pull off. The curls aren’t bad. She needs to make up her mind and match her brows. It bugs me when people dye their hair and leave their eyebrows darker/lighter.

  23. guesty says:

Her pits! Lol. Tragic…even more so than usual.

  24. Jen says:

I’m more worried about that awful dress than her hair. That color and style is awful.

  25. bunkins says:

cant wear tiny hair with big face.

  26. Ron says:

Bitch you are not Rhianna. Oh na na, what’s my name?

  27. Dani says:

She is a young girl experimenting with fashion. Not the best look for her but I don’t want to be too harsh about her looks. She can’t help what genetics gave her. But as some previous posters said, maybe this isn’t the best career for her. Would anyone have given her the current job she has if it wasn’t for her parentage? Doubtful.

  28. lucy2 says:

I can’t think of anyone that would look good on, but it definitely doesn’t work on her.

  29. beth says:

pre-raphaelite look? i think bigger curls would work a lot better to soften the angularness of her face. i have a strong jawline, and for some reason tight curls just emphasised that, but the moment i went for bigger curls on a layered cut, everyone noticed my eyes, which are my best feature – but it seemed to also balance everything else. this red works on her skin tone; also she’s evoking a surreal, pre-raphaelite vibe with her beautiful, flawless skin
    *i’m envious

  30. Bailey says:

the curls are cute, just not attached to her potato head and a very ugly dress

  31. Ari says:

I actually enjoy the hair but its a limited style – the dress is like someone took a barbie dress cut it up and put a belt on it

  32. TXCinderella says:

There is nothing that this “model” (cough, cough) could do to make herself look any better. She is just flat out unattractive.

  33. bored says:

You have to wonder why she didn’t consider a less appearance dependant profession. She could have still used her nepotism to get in on the ‘creative’ side of hollywood where her quirky looks could work for her instead of agaist her. She could design purses or act in avant garde plays or something. Anything would be less self flagellating than modelling.

  34. Fire says:

    SUPER UNFORTUNATE!
    Doesn’t she have a stylist?

    or…..a mirror???

  35. original kate says:

the hair, the dress, the posture, the posing so hard her arm is going to snap off is all very, very bad.

  36. DSMR says:

    …tsk…tsk…tsk…

  37. YAY says:

OMG – just stop posting pics of her already. We get it..people find her unattractive. How many different ways can people call a person ugly!

  38. jessica says:

LOL… “Its like sprinkling glitter on a turd” … LMAO!!

  39. Alice says:

Anything she tries is unfortunate. Nothing goes with that face. Any hairstyle she might try, any outfit or accessories, everything clashes with that face. Rumer, you are the only person who wants you in the spotlight.

If one of the Willis kids simply has to be famous, couldn’t it be Tallulah? Her parents’ difficult genetics settled much better on her face.

  40. NoFrank says:

If she would close her mouth in pictures, her jaw would not look quite so disproportionate. The way she’s always got her mouth hanging open she ends up looking like her chin is just too heavy to keep holding it up. Also that dress looks like she stole it from the road company of “La Cage Aux Folles”.

  41. TG says:

@tango – I think the real truth is Demi didn’t get to be good looking until after all the surgery. Look at her young photos she was downright ugly and she still has a very strong jaw line that might not come off so well on her offspring, as is evidence with that unfortunate looking creature Rumor (poor girl has an unfortunate name too).

  42. maggiegrace says:

I’m no fan of Demi Moore, far from it, but as a young woman, she was strikingly beautiful, I think. She really came into her beauty in her late 20’s and 30’s. Then as she aged, she started having all the work done and now looks beautiful still, but odd and hard. I agree with the poster who said that Rumer should have avoided modeling, and done something fun and creative behind the scences, ala Sofia Coppola.

  43. Diane says:

I’d sue the hairstylist…her hair looks fried. I guess Badgley Mischka just wanted somebody with a famous name, no matter what she looks like. If she had a brain, she’d know that she’s not pretty and should pursue something other than always posing before a camera. Nobody wants to look at your face, Rumer.

  44. Alexa says:

You commentors . . . y’all need a nap or something. Rumer – I ENJOY SEEING YOU in this “business”! Lookin’ good! Never mind the haters. You’re unique and a refreshing change from the usual clones we see.

  45. ops says:

If I were in her shoes I would ask my parents to finance an oustanding education degree, focusing on my brain and possibly being likeable and pleasant as a human being. Because, to be honest, all her efforts and investments in glamour, fashion and embellishments are turning her into a joke for gossip mags. There’s nothing she can do in the looks department, unfortunately.

  46. e says:

She tries too hard. She DOES not look good with red hair at all. The cools make her look tranny. She needs a stylist!

  47. Cha Cha Loca says:

Unfortunate. As are all the Willis children, unfortunately.

  48. melinda says:

    Unfortunate.

  49. TG says:

@Alexa – The “unique” girl wouldn’t be have any of the hollywood oportunities she has been given if it weren’t for her parents. She has nothing to reccomend her.

  50. Elleh says:

This just in: Raggedy Ann Gets Chin Implant; Buys Dress At Jessica McClintock. Film at eleven.

  51. TeeTee says:

    uh…NO

  52. Debra says:

It seems impossible that she is the child of Demi and Bruce.
Simply a cruel mix of the genes.

  53. Johnthing says:

    Bad!

  54. Az says:

There is nothing about this girl that isn’t unfortunate.

  55. Patricia says:

    oh girl please stop

  56. Annie says:

I don’t find Rumer ugly, just very, very unusual looking (and I don’t say that about everyone, I see women I find truly ugly every day). If she got her jaw reset she might actually be pretty; she has good features.

  57. Megatrona says:

I think the curls old have looked better on the face, and make that a lot of curls please

  58. Cherry Rose says:

She looks better with dark long hair. The tight curls do nothing for her but emphasize how big her face is.

    The dress is ugly too.

  59. leesa says:

She has GOT to learn some new facial expressions or maybe even try to smile once in awhile. I swear her expression is the same in every picture and its not a flattering one.

  60. Kiska says:

When I was her age I made the BIG mistake of dying my hair red. I have the same coloring as Rumer and it LOOKS horrible. Aging and not flattering.
She needs a nice chestnut or chocolate brown. Rich tones and no red.

  61. Kevin says:

Hard to say without a bridal in her mouth.

  62. KJ says:

I think she looked nice in “House Bunny” – after the makeover her character went through, of course, lol. Rumer has strong features and problem areas but she’d look a lot better if she styled herself better, got a good haircut/color that suited her features more, etc, etc.

I’ll not hate on her because she’s not pretty – not everyone can be a beauty. We can only do our best with what God and our parents gave us. She seems like a nice girl.

  63. Bill Hick is God says:

Somebody left Raggedy-Ann out in the rain…

  64. aenflex says:

The landscape of the face…too much, I think. This is one time where shaving some bone off could be warranted. Bless her heart, I don’t know her or anything about her, so I certainly don’t hate her. But her face…needs a’changin

  65. Kim says:

Everything about this girls face/hair/body is unfortunate.

  66. Dana M says:

    Not so much.

  67. GIA says:

    @39. jessica
OMG I laughed so hard. sprinkling glitter on a turd. hahahaha!

    @Kaiser
    That’s enough now
while my lawyers are still drawing up the legal papers for the Kardashian incident, this adds new charges and violations to the lawsuit I’m filing against you.
irrepairable damages to my eyes, in conjunction with visual assault, mental anguish, assault with a deadly weapon (a/k/a Rumer’s photograph), and willful and intentional malice.
pleeeeeze, somebody make her go away, stop hiding the mirrors in her house.

  68. Crash2GO2 says:

Boy. I’ve read all the comments and looked at the pictures again. Still don’t see what is so awful. People just love to rag on her because of her looks. End of story.

  69. helen says:

I can’t, just can’t imagine being so blinkered that, looking as she does, she has shoehorned herself into the public eye. Plenty of celeb kids don’t do it, she obviously puts herself in the spotlight- no one is knocking her door down to cast her or have her on the red carpet. She’s clearly doing it because she wants to- and then I see pictures of her and mentally shriek- god! so fugly! and then feel bad because she’s probably a nice person. I don’t blame people who are going on about how dodgy she looks. I’m thinking that, too. She makes bitches out of all of us- if she was in the spotlight because of her talent, her looks wouldn’t seem so bad. But she is selling herself primarily on her looks. And her looks are really unfortunate.
I wish she’d drop it, so i don’t have to see her vapid potatoface anymore.

  70. crazydaisy says:

Maybe she has a great personality. And I agree, bigger, fuller hair would be a plus.

  71. Judy says:

Shave those pits…just nasty. That’s something she can easily fix…and something that makes even the most attractive woman unattractive.

  72. Mingo says:

    Now that’s one fugly woman.

  73. Mouse says:

Jon Heder pulls off the tight curled look better. And red hair with that dress….ugh.

  74. JenJen says:

As if she couldn’t be less attractive, her armpit looks un-shaved.

That dress is tacky as Hell.

Edit: Right on Judy, just saw your comment!
