Amy Winehouse ruins her goddaughter’s debut singing performance

Amy Winehouse has moved on from embarrassing herself to embarrassing her friends and family as well. Amy has a 12-year-old goddaughter named Dionne Bromfield. The two are very close – Amy’s been spotted picking her up from school and taking her out and about on a number of occasions. Dionne wants to be a singer like Amy, who agreed to provide backup vocals for Dionne’s debut performance. Unfortunately, despite the kind gesture, Amy is still Amy, and she botched it big time – embarrassing not just herself but Dionne as well.

It was a high society ball attended by a host of VIPs in their most glamorous gowns. But somehow Amy Winehouse didn’t get the dress code quite right. Wearing scruffy animal print shorts, the troubled star looked shockingly skinny and ill as she performed at the End of Summer Ball in London’s Berkeley Square last night.

The troubled star embarrassed herself by ruining her 12-year-old goddaughter’s debut singing performance and lashing out at a photographer before collapsing and sobbing: ‘Life can’t go on. I can’t do this any more.’ The singer was at the Berkeley Square Ball in Mayfair to provide backing vocals for her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield. But onlookers were shocked at how out of it Amy was, and the audience at the charity bash cringed as she grabbed and hugged Dionne as she tried to perform. We’re told: ‘It was tragic — she seemed totally wasted. She was jumping all over Dionne as the poor girl tried to sing for the crowd. Amy didn’t really sing a single note — it sounded more like she was grunting down the mic.’

At the end of the performance, Amy’s backing singer told the crowd: ‘Isn’t she great? She’s only 12-years-old!’ But Amy crowed: ‘She’s better than you — it doesn’t matter how old she is.’ She then roamed from table to table, demanding to meet famous people. Our spy said: ‘Amy was then asked to pose for the event’s official photographer, but flipped and tried to headbutt him. She looked like a woman possessed.’ She arrived at her Camden home at the end of the night with only one shoe and looking horribly dishevelled.

[From the Daily Mail]

Amy really has a thing with headbutting people lately. I have to admit, no matter how poorly my life is going, I manage to keep my head rightfully attached to my neck in its proper position. And no matter how many photographers try to take my picture, I manage to not threaten them with bodily harm. But that’s just me.

Amy’s embarrassing performance shouldn’t come as any surprise. What is a shock is that Dionne’s family let Amy join in at all. Obviously her parents are good friends of Amy’s, but I’m sure they realize how erratic she is. That’s like inviting a hungry kangaroo to your fancy sit down dinner and then being surprised when he kicks out his feet and hops on the table. Or something equally sensible.

    Nothing’s Shocking.

(although I always chuckle at a good headbutting story)

  2. geronimo says:

JB, did you happen to notice the pic over in the DM where she looks jaundiced, emaciated, seriously ill and like she’s on her last legs?

Poor Amy, still not sick enough to catch a break at celebitchy.

  3. caffie says:

There comes a point when someone moves beyond the “getting made fun of” phase… and moves into the “wow, this is sadly tragic” phase. She’s in the latter now. It’s not shocking anymore… it’s not funny anymore. It’s terribly tragic… and sad. 😥

  4. Orangejulius says:

Oh, this is cringe-worthy. ‘Life can’t go on’ and ‘I can’t do this any more’. When is someone going to hospitalize her and not let her out till she’s regained her sanity?

  5. bros says:

jaybird, you should get some of the pictures during her ‘flip out’ scene afterwards where she has only one shoe on. she really does look possessed. i remember she had those pants on a week or so ago, and she must have chopped them up herself to make the shorts.

  6. silentA says:

I googled Amy Winehouse – and all I got were OLD pictures of her.

She was beautiful and healthy! It’s insane. Sometimes I forget how far she’s fallen because she’s been jacked up for so long.

  7. Kate says:

Someone needs to save her.No one cares for this girl?

  8. Obvious says:

And we thought Britney was screwed up, she may have flashed her va-jay-jay and went psycho on an SUV with an umbrella, but she never headbutted anyone. Let’s call in Daddy Spears.

He turned BritBrit around maybe he can work another miracle and save what was once a talent.

  9. EnKay says:

Those people in the photos seem to be pretending that she’s not dying. What the hell? Can no one help this poor woman?

  10. saintdevil says:

She’s an addict and she has probably already destroyed large parts of her brain for good so it’s pointless to expect her to show sense or decency or care for anyone.

As long as she makes money, she’ll buy drugs and she won’t stop until she’s dead.

Which will be soon, if there’s no miracle. 🙁

  11. Baholicious says:

I am mortified for that young girl. She looks so happy only to have her big moment ruined. The fault lies with the parents as CB said – they invited the kangaroo to the table in the first place.

  12. anony says:

It’s like we’re watching her die. Why can’t her dad step in and live with her like Brit’s dad did? Look what it did for her…this might help if she refuses to stay in rehab. She can’t be committed either can she? Not sure if England has different rules. I know Brit was committed albeit for only a matter of days.

Can’t make fun of her, she has too many real demons. I don’t see her doing drugs just to be a stupid club slut, she’s a lost soul.

  13. Hollz says:

Maybe her saying that in front of a large (ish?) crowd will help them get her committed

  14. daisy424 says:

Buckle up Amy, you’re about to hit bottom……Now.

  15. lola lola says:

We’re all going to be commenting on her ‘tragic’ death soon. With all her “friends” saying how they tried to step in but couldn’t. Its a slow train wreck that no-one can/will stop. Very very very sad.

  16. JaundiceMachine says:

Where was Harvey Nichols when she needed him the most? At least one aspect of the night could have been saved – fashion nightmare!

Seriously though. Slow-burn suicide. Poor baby is heading towards the light . . .

  17. Kelly says:

This isn’t funny anymore. I really hope this woman gets help. I feel bad for her.

  18. RAN says:

Picturing the head butting antics is absolutely hilarious. Actually looking at this woman though… that’s sad. Can’t someone get a court ordered conservatorship like Daddy Spears did, or isn’t this something that’s recognized/permitted in Britain?

  19. morgs says:

Sorry to sound as cynical as I do, but sometimes I wonder if her dad is just waiting for her to die to grab onto whatever money she has left. This seems to be the only reason he hasn’t tried harder to have her sectioned. I’m always hoping when she’s in hospital that they are doing a rapid detox on her (the one where they knock her out and then flush her body with fluids to get rid of the poison). Obviously that wasn’t the case.

  20. CookiePuss says:

As long as B2B is selling, as long as folks keep hiring Winehouse to watch whether or not she’ll be out of her head, or even have paps take all these ‘shocking’ pics of her, she will always have money for ‘candy’ and booze.

Dionne’s mom should be ashamed of herself, ain’t that much fame and fortune in the world that would allow that woman near my child.

  21. enchantress says:

These stories about Amy just keep getting worse, and with each one she looks a little more deathly. God, what a waste. Her time will surely be up very soon. 😥

  22. MB Travis says:

    Classy, bird, classy…

  23. SolitaryAngel says:

She said the magic words: ‘Life can’t go on. I can’t do this any more.’ NOW, will somebody PLEASE help her? I don’t want to watch her die; it’s like the most bizarre deathwatch in history.

I feel so awful for Amy, and for that poor little girl–and PISSED that her mother put her through that, just to get her “debut” on. I am truly sad about this.

  24. h.bravo says:

How can you be a Godparent if you’re not Christian?

  25. Barbie M. says:

If Amy Winehouse had cancer, she wouldn’t be dying in front of our eyes like this. She’s an addict and an alcoholic truly suffering, but the end is no different: She will die if left untreated. She should be committed immediately. Who, in God’s name, is booking her into events, by the way? It’s absolutely horrific. But beyond that: It’s immoral.

  26. CookiePuss says:

People want to see a freakshow, they want to watch the toddler with money act a fool.

  27. A.J. says:

She looks like death warmed over; she looks so completely frail. Doesn’t she have any family or friends to say enough is enough and get her treatment before it’s too late? Or are they all busy blabbing to the media about her? So sad… she really isn’t going to live much longer if she keeps up like this. All the people enabling Amy should be ashamed of themselves. Sure, she’s self-destructing, but there has to be a way to force her kicking and screaming into treatment, if that’s what the bottom line is. If her family truly loves and cares for her, hopefully they realize that it’s either treatment or a funeral. No other options; Amy’s too far gone at this point.

  28. Jinxy says:

Yeah, it’s shocking that a dope fiend screwed up a little kids debut performance. No I guess what’s shocking is that the little girls mother is letting her impressionable child anywhere near Amy. The girl doesn’t need a career, she needs a new mother.

  29. Tony Ricker says:

I was at the Berkeley square Ball this year as always. Everything was lovely, food drink, people and the entertainment was first class but the inclusion of Amy Winehouse was just not a sensible one at all. Most of the guests were miffed because we were not sure whether she was supossed to be performing or simply supporting the amazing young singer, now i know to be her God daughter Dionne Bromfield. Amy’s behaviour was bizare to say the least but got even more bizare when she was introduced to well known london nightclub owner Freddie Achom, they seem to know each other but she spoke to him for a while, took a picture together and then started kissing his hand and bowing to him. He seemed very emmbarrassed and quickly retreated back to his table and never returned. Amy Winehouse is in desparate need of help, immediately. Organisers should stop booking her and allow her to get help. PLEASE

  30. I think Amy Winehouse can make great performance in the future as she is singing well.

  31. I do trust all the ideas you’ve offered on your post. They’re very convincing and can definitely work. Still, the posts are too quick for starters. May you please extend them a little from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.
