As I’ve mentioned before, Blake Lively’s boobs are the face of Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag line – the first ad is below, and it’s pretty basic. Still, Blake being associated with such a high-end luxury brand definitely helps her image, and it ups her credibility as a “Fashion Girl”. Plus, we get all of these marvelous photos of her at events for Chanel, with Karl Lagerfeld. Blake loves every minute of it. The Kaiser does NOT.
Anyway, these particular photos are from the Chanel event over the weekend during Paris Fashion Week. Blake got time off of Gossip Girl and was all over Paris to shill Chanel. This white and silver outfit is Chanel too – I actually like the ensemble, and it looks nice on Blake, but I totally see what many commenters have noted about Blake: she’s pretty, but it’s in a very plain way. She looks like a cheerleader, or just some random blonde that Lagerfeld pulled out of a mall. Plus, she’s losing too much weight. Where I used to think she had one of the best bodies of any of the young fashion girls, she’s really beginning to look much too thin for my taste.

Blake looks wonderful in these pics. She has a genuine smile and energetic persona. No pouty pout or diva model.
Like those commercials where two arm-in-arm gals walk down fifth avenue so happy their panty liners haven’t shifted and their femine hygiene product is working.

She reminds me of Sarah Jessica Parker in regards to how people put her on a fashion pedestal, when they’re average at best. But even that said I think she looks great and has every right to enjoy the attention and the money that goes along with it. I like Blake a lot and think Chanel could have done a lot worse.

So Blake is a little thin. But she is one of the faces of Chanel. So it is expected.
But one look at those shoes on her feet make me ache.

She’s very pretty, but she’s also just kind of there. I think people would warm to her more if she didn’t have “Try” coming out of her pores. If she smiled big but with her mouth closed, she would also look less “mall.” But nevertheless, I buy her as a fashion girl. Kind of makes sense, you want someone attractive enough to get attention to your product but not too gorgeous to overwhelm it. Thanks to Neelyo for the link the article was interesting. She’s considered “optimistic” for these tough economic times. But she’lll need to make a choice; concentrate on being an “it” girl which lasts as long till the next one comes along or work on her acting skills that will have a longer life.

I saw The Town on the weekend and thought she pulled off the white trash look VERY well. So much so I’m thinking maybe she’s closer to that that haute couture. It’s funny with Lagerfeld’s Chanel pieces of late: they look great on the models, but start to look shabby even on emaciated actresses. On the red carpet, Chanel frocks have recently been a regular on worst-dressed lists. Just not made for human proportions, I guess?

Agree marc I think the fashion houses are slumming and/or getting paid off – Armani thinks that Megan Fox epitomizes class and style, after all. And angelmay we all know Wintour has ruined Vogue, but I thought in order to be the “it” girl you had to have charisma, personality be able to discourse on the arts, literature, music, etc. but I’m showing my age. The thing with Blake is that she’s got all the right packaging (tall,long legs, long blond hair, fake boobs, a body to die for, all the right clothes) but the girl has marginal talent and ZERO personality (see January Jones and Amanda Seyfried). And because of that she’s not going to become the A-lister she wants to be, at least those who know they aren’t the most talented have a personality. They aren’t just THERE…

I envy her height and legs. But I do prefer her with more weight on her.
I think she makes a good fashion girl because of her body type. She has the height for modeling but she still has some curves, although she seems intent on losing them.
As for her face, it is rather plain looking. The weight loss makes it more so. Her face isn’t very “high fashion” either, most high fashion girls have more angular faces.
But overall, I still like her for some reason. I think it’s her body.

I love Gossip Girl. Blake is a plain pretty girl, you nailed it when you said mall girl or cheerleader that could be found in any HS. I’ve noticed on GG that shes only pretty when her hair is down. When its up her face isnt special enough to keep my attention. She is losing alot of weight and you can really notice in pic 4. Beautiful. She should stick to modeling. I love gossip girl, but the only thing she brings to the show is pretty hair and legs. Haven’t seen much else she’s been in, but she seems to be a boring actress. She doesn’t look too thin, but she shouldn’t lose anymore weight. Seems like Celebitchy is always screaming ANOREXIA about everyone. Love her clothes though.
