Keira Knightley has been “the face” of Chanel Mademoiselle for several years now, and these are the ads for her 2011 campaign. It seems… phoned in. Not that Chanel ads are ever really groundbreaking or anything, but even Keira looks super-bored, hungry, and like “Why am I here again?” Plus, Keira looks too thin in her face – and this is a thin girl already.
Chanel hasn’t strayed far from the headlines this week – a mesmerising Paris Fashion Week show, news that Lily Allen has chosen a Chanel wedding dress and the debut of its first Blake Lively ad has ensured it’s been the label on everyone’s lips, and now the unveiling of its latest Keira Knightley campaign will ensure that the fashion house stays high on the radar for yet another day.
The stunning shoot first came to our attention back in September, when the Brit actress was spotted filming scenes on Paris’ Place de la Concord, perched on a vintage motorbike in a camel catsuit and coordinating helmet.
Now the first official images have finally hit the web, showing Ms Knightley nibbling on a bottle of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, wrapped in a sheet and clad in that camel all-in-one.
The latest in a string of Chanel campaigns for Knightley, the project marks a reunion for the actress, who teamed up with her Pride & Prejudice director Joe Wright to shoot the mini film.

Honestly, I don’t think Keira should be fronting a major campaign anymore. It’s not just the “blah” quality of these images, or her weight loss, or her faltering film career – I just don’t think she’s interested in getting any kind of attention, at all. In recent interviews she’s been extremely squirrelly and rude, she fronts like any act of promotion is beneath her, and she’s just recently broken up with her boyfriend. It’s a good time for Keira to go away for a while.
I should note this however – while Blake Lively, Lily Allen and other fashion girls have been in Paris this week, bowing to the alter of Lagerfeld, Keira has not been around. She’s doing a play. And she doesn’t give a crap, honestly.

When I see her, I forever hear the fug girls reassuring her we see her “epic chin”. Makes me laugh every time. I’d link to it because it was a seriously funny post but they changed the format of their site and can’t be bothered to try to find it.

Maybe she’s under a contractual agreement to do several Chanel campaigns. Maybe Karl likes her because she isn’t up his arse. I like her better than lily allen and Blake whatsherface, just a thought.

Lets be honest here, her face is FAR more ‘Chanel’, than the likes of the ordinary Blake or Lily!! And her thin body, well, its like any other alternative working model out there! (She doesnt offend me)

I was trying to look up if this photos were shoot by Mr. Lagerfeld, because the photos aren’t great at all (his style, see the B-Lively ones, very weak photography).

I’m sorry Kaiser, but her career is not as bad as you made it sound, she is still regarded as a highly paid actress and she picks and chooses what roles she wants.
Having said that, I am a huge fan, and hate whenever I read about her here the total mean lean about whatever she does and her weight.
I have never seen her be anything but thin. If it is anorexia, then that is a problem – but we dont know that, she could just be small framed!

I kinda always figured this was her natural body type like how Clare Danes is built. Small upper bodies with larger bottoms (thighs, etc) like if they put on weight they will implode like pears in all the wrong spots.

I love Keira, and I think she looks gorgeous. There are comments about Keira’s weight on every post about her on this site (she’s starving, she’s anorexic, give her a cheeseburger, etc) but I have not noticed any weight loss. She has always been a skinny girl, and since she doesn’t have the usual big fake Hollywood tits, it’s just more noticeable on her. And her career is in great shape! She chooses quality projects and is a well-respected actress and she isn’t known for drug use or theft or doing shite romcoms. I really don’t get all the hate.

Ha, she almost looks healthy in the bike one. These aren’t bad really, the photos and filtering/hue/whatever are well done. To me it’s a dang sight better than Portman’s Dior thing, and I like her way better than Keira so these must be halfway decent.

I agree with Turquoise Blue. She’s gorgeous and when people make jokes about her thinness they’re really just commenting on the admirable fact that she hasn’t gotten breast implants. Most other actresses are just as thin, but you don’t notice it since they have fake boobs.
I love the ad too. I think it’s what Natalie Portman was aiming for but just couldn’t pull off.

I think she’s truly lovely. She doesn’t look scary skinny, like other actresses. And I haven’t seen her look any heavier than this since she’s been around, so I figure she’s not lying about being naturally thin. I don’t like the bike shot, but the others are really beautiful.

I think her career is exactly where she wants it to be. She’s made enough money that she can pick and choose more eclectic roles, she’s definitely not a famewhore, and I love that she does plays and indie movies and doesn’t give a flying fuck about the hollywood scene.
I think she’s much more interesting than most other starlets her age. And I think her personal style and ingenue look are perfect for Chanel.

If you see a full body shot of Keira, she really isn’t thin at all – she just has next to no boobs, and “feeding her a burger” wouldn’t make her grow them. If she got hollywood half-grapefruit implant everyone would be calling her ‘curvacious’ since she actually has a butt, hips and thighs on her. I’m glad she feels self-confident enough not to get a boob job though; I bet she’s had a ton of pressure to go under the knife.

Lively wishes she had the street-cred that Keira does. She has to suck up to the label – she can’t afford not to.
Keira may be a bit more low-key in recent years, but she is still in the top tier of young actresses in the business. She is thin, but not painfully so, and I happen to think she’s both beautiful and interesting looking. I love her bob.
Furthermore, her Chanel ads are 10000000x better than Lively’s awful, uninspired ones!
