Chris Brown whines about haters showing their “true colors” after his “mishap”

wenn3233081

Chris Brown is a moron. There’s really no question about that, honestly. So, here’s the question: is it better to ignore him whenever he says something stupid and ignorant, or should we talk about it, pointing and laughing at the ridiculous idiot, just so he’ll learn not to speak, ever? I don’t know. Since he beat the hell out of Rihanna, Chris has talked about the events of that night several times in various interviews. I don’t care enough to actually look up his previous comments, I just remember that they made me roll my eyes. So Chris has a new interview, with Page Six Magazine, and Us Weekly has this preview. This boy is SO dumb.

Chris Brown is aware of his own infamy. The singer, 21, is frank with Page Six Magazine (in Thursday’s New York Post) about the ongoing fallout from his February 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna.

“People are always gonna talk. But I’m in a positive place. I consider myself a grown-ass man,” says the star, whose new album F.A.M.E. stands for “Forgiving All My Enemies.”

Speaking of forgiveness, Brown says he’s done apologizing for the brutal Rihanna attack.

“At the end of the day,” muses the “Forever” singer, “if I walk around apologizing to everybody, I’m gonna look like a damn fool.”

A judge recently downgraded a restraining order barring contact between Brown and Rihanna, 23. (Brown is serving five years probation for the crime, and completed court-mandated domestic violence classes plus 180 hours of hard labor last year.)

In the wake of that shocking scandal, Brown says “a handful of people stuck by me,” including fellow musicians Pitbull and producer Pharrell Williams.

Still, he complains that many folks “turn[ed] away. They don’t want to get involved with it because they don’t want their name attached to anything negative. Unknowingly, they kind of show their true colors when they do that.”

He doesn’t exactly fault those former friends for walking away after the assault — which he calls a “mishap.”

“You can’t blame people for how they want to be portrayed or if they don’t want to be associated with somebody who had a particular mishap.”

“The last two years, everybody dissed me,” Brown says. “But my fans were so dedicated. The way I look at it is, you can’t walk around mad, because then you just prove everybody right that you’re an angry person.”

Brown’s full interview in Page Six Magazine appears online and in print on Thursday.

[From Us Weekly]

Oh, so much stupidity. Shall we take it point by point?

* “If I walk around apologizing to everybody, I’m gonna look like a damn fool.” Aw, he’s concerned with looking foolish. And he thinks “apologizing” will make him look dumber. Dumbass.

* “They don’t want to get involved with it because they don’t want their name attached to anything negative. Unknowingly, they kind of show their true colors when they do that.” What “true colors”? That many people don’t want to associate themselves with a stupid, abusive prick? Why is Chris’s default position set to “everybody should be on my side, they should stand by me, forever, no matter what”? Chris, the world is not full of people who wanna be yo’ mama.

* “You can’t blame people for how they want to be portrayed or if they don’t want to be associated with somebody who had a particular mishap.” – A “mishap” is accidentally dropping a cake. Beating the hell out your girlfriend and nearly choking her to death is not a “mishap”. Semantics, I know.

… Anyway, this was supposed to be amusing, but it ended up depressing me. Hopefully some of those Team Breezy jackasses will come in and lighten the mood.

Why the hell was that woman with this jerk at all?

  2. yadicakes says:

This idiot needs to own up to it and now keep his trap shut to show shame.

  3. jen34 says:

I thought the ‘mishap’ he was referring to was the picture of his dick that he tweeted. THAT was a mishap. Viciously attacking Rihanna was an assault.

  4. flourpot says:

    “I consider myself a grown-ass man”

This pretty much says it all, don’t you think? I vote ignore.

  5. Jezi says:

I think his “true colors” are showing right about now. Basically he doesn’t have any real remorse about the beating since he feels he shouldn’t have to apologize anymore for it. No one is asking him to. I will never look at him the same, doesn’t mean I don’t like his music but I don’t appreciate him as a person. He damaged his own career, take responsibility for that. Dumbass!

  6. Salina says:

    He is embarrassing.

  7. TT says:

He already looks like a “damn fool” and has for quite some time. I really wish this toolbox would just fade away into obscurity… I don’t think it can happen soon enough.

  8. Rita says:

He’s become the Spencer who apparently can’t find a bathroom. His “semantic” use of “mishap” is sick. I’ve never considered myself a bigot but in this case I’m a full-on anti-semantite.

Don’t step on those blue suede shoes.

  9. Bella Mosley says:

He’s an ass, yes. I do question why Charlie Sheen is skating yet has pled no contest twice to abusing a woman and that doesn’t include the hooker a few months ago in the hotel , shooting Kelly Preston, wife Denise Richards or any other time he was abusive.
Why is it ok for Charlie to have done it for years to multiple women with no consequences and Chris Brown is vilified the first time (as he should be)?

  10. Eileen says:

He makes me want to vomit when I see his pics. Maybe if he had showed any kind of remorse afterward his apology would have been accepted. He did what he HAD to do from the courts and bitched about it the whole time. Then whined when people didn’t like him-have some humility and OWN your behavior!

  11. Obvious says:

ugh, i’v been staying away from commenting lately because hell, i’ve been busy, and i can’t wrap my mind around the whole charlie sheen debacle. i mean seriously.

but this? ugh…chris, please take my advice. fade into obscurity for a coupe years. american’s are like goldfish-our attention span an memories are only so long. come back in a few years and mt won’t remember your “mishap”. if you ant to be back on top, there is the path. use it. otherwise, please keep doing what you’re doing and keep opening your idiotic mouth. it provides fodder for us over here at celebitchy.

  12. elizabeth says:

    Re : Jen34

I also thought he was talking about the picture – never thought he was referring to his conviction for domestic assault. Not a “mishap” by anyone’s standards.

I love that people are saying he photo shopped the picture to make his penis look longer! Too rich!

  13. Kaboom says:

He’s the poster boy for post-natal abortion.

  14. K-MAC says:

Chris Brown almost killed Rihanna, beat the crap out of her and he says people turned on him…this guy needs to shut up, seriously, he needs to STFU…

  15. teehee says:

Loyalty or not, people have their different opinions, different ethical standards, beliefs, and they have that right to make those choices on how to think and how to act— and if that choice includes not supporting Chris Brown, for whatever reason, then so be it. it isnt them shoinwg themselves inferior or superior; it is them exercising their free will.
He proves that he still thinks in terms of better or worse and hence is still highly attached to his ego– the same one that would get jealous and beat somebody up, if it felt threatened enough. The need to put others down, whether or not they support you is also abusive, if even very mild or common, but it is not “grown-ass” thinking at all.
At least he has thought about it, even if his conclusions arent yet the top of the pile and maybe never will be.

His ego is still also so fragile and inflated that he cant even tell it the truth abotu who he is and what he did to his girlfriend. The day he can recognize what he did for all that it was– NOT a mishap– is the first day he has truly begun growning up.

  16. Overit says:

Yo Chris…you beat a woman to an unrecognizable pulp…you trivialize it as a MISHAP???? You’re a mishap of a human being and should be apologizing every day of your miserable life.

  17. Arianna says:

lol team breezy people i’m waiting

to give him ONE thing, and only one thing,
he must have some serious balls to walk around like nothing happened and even have the audacity to point out some friends who walked away from him after the suckerpunching incident.

i sure as hell wouldn’t have the guts to call people out for not being on his side after such a terrible “mishap”

  18. happygirl says:

I wish someone would have a “mishap” all over HIS face. What’s good for the goose and all that.

  19. TQB says:

@Bella Mosley, it’s probably not just one reason, but many.

Charlie is richer and more powerful, and paid off all the women (well, I don’t know about Preston, but he certainly paid off Mueller and the porn stars). Rhianna was never dependent on Brown and was prepared to go to trial and testify.

Brown beat up an equally (or perhaps more so) famous person, who is popular with young women. Rhianna garnered much more sympathy than Sheen’s women. [Sidenote: there was a great NYT article about reality TV creating “invisible women” – the concept that fame whores and regular whores do not warrant sympathy.]

The leaked crime photos pretty much made any argument from Brown’s camp that “she started it” or “they had a mutually abusive relationship” moot. We all saw, in graphic detail, what he did to her. This probably ties back into the money issue, but conveniently no evidence against Charlie ever seems to leak.

And not for nothing, but Brown is black and Charlie is white. It’s disgusting, but clearly the public was willing to accept the idea that Brown was a thug, and completely unwilling to think the same of Sheen.

I’m speculating, of course, because while I think Brown is an unrepentant bastard, Sheen is vile and should have faced 10 times the heat Brown has. And to Brown’s credit, he’s met the terms of his probation and community service.

    Charlie just writes more checks.

  20. Sherri says:

I vote to laugh & point every time he says something stupid, which is nonstop.

  21. Melanie says:

Isn’t he a musician? Why doesn’t he just focus on his damned music if he has any talent?

  22. skilo says:

“Why is it ok for Charlie to have done it for years to multiple women with no consequences and Chris Brown is vilified the first time (as he should be)?”
Maybe because (and this is just my take not saying it’s right) most of the women except for KP and a few associated with CS much earlier in his career, know that he is capable of just about anything, many of them are porn stars, call girls they take that risk because they see a pay day in it, it is a gamble for them. Rhianna was in a relationship with CB and severely hurt by him. Also most of the girls Charlie has supposedly abused never show any signs of having really been hurt by him, those pics of Rihanna left no doubt what CB actually did to her.

  23. skilo says:

    “I consider myself a grown-ass man”

I just consider him an ass.

  24. sandy says:

poor thing, every time things starts looking up for him, he opens his mouth, just don’t respond Chris, do your music, let that speak for you. now shhhh!!!

  25. Ari says:

I thought he was older for some reason so no offense to mature minded men in their early 20’s but most of them are boneheads anyway.

  26. gg says:

The “grown-ass man” appears to be in need of a toilet. He’s got buttloads of class, he does.

Anybody seen reformed Mike Tyson on recent chat shows? He’s actually rehabbed his own image and grown up. Chris – you need a giant dose of humility. Call Mike. Mike – please beat the $hit out of this loser and leave marks.

  27. curmudgeon says:

He needs to stop touching himself in front of the camera.

  28. Jezi says:

I think Charlie Sheen used his money to pay off most. Denise Richards spoke out against Charlie but I think why she didn’t get much sympathy was because she started banging Richie Sambora and he was still married to Heather Locklear at the time, who was once Denise’s friend. So it made Denise look like crap. Brooke doesn’t look too good either because she herself is in rehab with her own issues. Just my take on things.

  29. original kate says:

    “I consider myself a grown-ass man”

a real man would never say this. and also? a real man would never walk around wearing dressed like a “peanuts” character. just so you know, chris.

  30. flourpot says:

@sandy poor thing? I missed that part. what has he done that should garner our sympathy?

  31. Quest says:

“If I walk around apologizing to everybody, I’m gonna look like a damn fool.”

I say it’s really too late for that and you ain’t even apologizing for it…LOL.

Chis is a self-groping-donglacking-asswipe of a tool…grown men don’t, just don’t get all teary eyes at a performance to just get sympathy from fans you douche.

  32. kmn says:

It makes me FURIOUS that he continues to make self-centered comments to the media and whine about the effect it had on his career. He’s throwing a fit because he’s had to deal with the consequences of his actions. I have absolutely no sympathy.

Maybe he is upset about the “raw deal” he’s gotten with his career, but Rihanna could have DIED the night he beat her. How’s that for a raw deal, Chris?

  33. caramia says:

douche is too kind a word for CB, a douche can be very useful medically.
CB is of no use to anyone even to himself, dispicable is a good description for me

  34. Lizzie says:

“If I walk around apologizing to everybody, I’m gonna look like a damn fool.”

Not that I think what he did was by any means ok, but I think that in a way a lot of people took what he did to Rihanna personally, and feel somewhat entitled to have him apologize until they feel it is enough and how they feel it should be done, rather than until Rihanna feels its enough, how she wants him to do it or until she forgives him (if she does). I also think in a way it might hurt Rihanna, because if she thinks its enough or is over it, and the public isn’t, it keeps her wound open and she can’t heal until everyone tells her when to heal.

  35. anti says:

    @caramina – so true.

looks like he has an itchy crotch.

  36. Riley says:

One of the reasons I love Jay Z is that he put the smack down on this guy after he beat the crap out of Rhianna and basically, for a while at least, shut him out of all things hip hop. I really thought Jay Z manned up and it was great. He could’ve of stayed out of it but he chose a side and it pretty much killed Chris Brown’s career. Let’s hope his career will stay ashes.

  37. Leticia says:

Remember that he bit her during his assault? Isn’t that the ultimate in viscousness? He acted like a rabid dog. Unfortunately our culture has increased production of men like this.

  38. BlackMamba says:

@TQB I agree with you completely

  39. FatJenny LovesCake says:

He is just ignorant beyond words. He could have made himself look remorseful and better, if he would have made a SUBSTANTIAL financial contribution to a battered women’s shelter/domestic violence organization. That would have been the right thing to do to help clear his image after the Rihanna incident.

  40. Hakura says:

Everyone has pretty much covered all the common sense responses. But Chris should be extremely grateful he still has anything resembling a career at all, at this point.

After this event (with Rihanna), I made a personal decision to get rid of everything I had of Chris Brown’s music, or anything he contributed to. (Everything came off the ipod & went into the recycle folder). I never had anything Charlie Sheen is a part of (movies/ect), but if I did, I’d have gotten rid of that as well. He’s even *more* despicable than CB, & sure as hell doesn’t get a pass from me.

I simply can’t separate someone’s stage identity from their real identity. If they’ve done something horrible, I’m not going to support their careers in any way. Both Charlie *&* Chris need to STFU, big time.

  41. Dahlimama says:

    Severely delusional.

  42. Gabriela says:

Why would anyone stand by him when he’s so obviously a terrible person?

  43. dread pirate cuervo says:

He’s so ignorant. So, so ignorant. People aren’t “unknowingly” showing their true colors; they are making conscious decisions to step away from your toxic stupidity. Your lack of command of the English language is doing you no favors. Your best bet is to just STFU!

  44. TQB says:

@Riley, I agree, Jay-Z and actually Kanye, too. She’s like a sister to them, and sometimes a gal needs some big brothers. Now THAT’S being a real man.

  45. Ron says:

Sounds like a a direct quote from Ike Turner.

  46. LunaT says:

Sit down and, yes, do stfu, Chris Brown.

  47. KateNonymous says:

I say “ignore.” He’s dumb enough to think that any attention is good attention, so why give him that?

  48. Tia C says:

That actually sounds like the best interview yet that he’s given on that tired topic, honestly. He’s actually speaking English – that’s an improvement in and of itself.

  49. sandy says:

@ flourpot, i don’t mean that as a sympathetic notion, i was being sarcastic, i totally agree on all points with kaisers write up, i meant to come back to state this, but i forgot, anyhoo, once again, everyone is entitle to their own opinion, no?

  50. rex says:

i think everyone should just leave chris alone. have you not all crucified him enough for the mistake. people do worse and dont get this kinda insults from the public. i think people should grow up and realise that he made a mistake and he is sorry for it. what more do you want from him. if you think he is not so important then stop insulting and ranting about chris

  51. truetalk says:

he’s such a foolish child!.meanwhile, d dick is not much to talk about even if photoshopped.

  52. ordinarygirl86 says:

He’s a douchebag who really showed the world who he is after he assaulted Rihanna. The act of beating his girlfriend’s face in was horrible but how he acted afterwards in interviews really convinced me that he’s not sorry at all. He’s just sorry he got caught and that his record sales suffered.

@ Riley- I LOVED when JayZ spoke out to say that what Brown did was wrong an he wanted nothing to do with him because at the time NOBODY wanted to take sides! I really loved when Usher blasted Brown as an unfeeling asshole for going on a tropical vacation jetskiing(sp?) and living it up days after he beat Rihanna. That interview made my life because it was obviously what he thought and not what some PR person told him to say. Unfortunately a day or two after, his PR tried to take it back.

  53. orion70 says:

Someone who’s been through treatment / program for this should not be referring to anything as a “mishap”.

  54. TQB says:

Yay, Team Breezy is finally here… Thanks, rex, for equating nearly beating someone to death with a “mistake.” Almost as good as “mishap.”

  55. anoneemouse says:

I vote for pointing and laughing at the ridiculous idiot. He and Kanye West should pal around – they both seem to suffer from foot in mouth syndrome.

  56. anoneemouse says:

Hey – is he doing the pee dance in those pics?

  57. DiannSteph says:

    I wish Jay-Z would’ve beat him down.

  58. TQB says:

@anoneemouse, doesn’t it speak volumes that Kanye HATES him? It’s the only thing I’ve ever admired him for.

  59. Jules says:

Right, he beats a woman, and he is the victim. Idiot.

  60. makula says:

    Chris,
Pair up with Palin. You are perfect for each h other, ha-ha.

  61. Confuzzle says:

    Has he got crabs?

  62. Tiffany says:

Just reading to comments here and before we get on the Jay Z bandwagon, remember there is film of him putting his hands on a woman. As far as Kayne, yes the man suffers from foot in mouth syndrome, yes, but has never done any of the crap half these hip hop/R&B artist. Motormouth, yes. Abuser, no. And I not even going to strike a point on the Swift incident because he totally made that girls career. Kanye has always drummed to his own beat and that is why I find him entertaining.

  63. lulu says:

i lwould if people like celebitchy if you have nothing nice ti say about chris brown stop writing about him in your blog…..Its quite ridiculous that you talk about him every little chance you get i love chris brown because he is talented he made a MISTAKE. I dont think you appreciate if yor mistakes were being hovered over your head thats one…..I dont see you showing this same distaste for other celebrities who have done worst and more than chris brown in his life time…. doesnt excuse the him from his wrong but jeez louise let THE BOY BREATHE ALREADY

  64. B says:

He still thinks he is the man, as shown by his self-crotch grabbing…DoucheChild.

  65. jemshoes says:

Just on sheer principle alone, I too refuse to listen to any Chris Brown music / songs. No man should ever take his fists and teeth to a woman, period.

You can tell that he still has a lot of anger and resentment and denial issues, made worse by the fact that he’s still talking about it like *he* was the victim. Jay-Z didn’t kill this guy’s career: Chris Brown did.

  66. PrettyTarheel says:

    I’m with Hakura and Jemshoes.
If I am listening to XM, and Chris Brown’s music comes on, I will not listen to it. It’s not even a conscious decision anymore, I just change the channel as soon as I see his name pop up.

Until everyone makes a conscious decision to stand by their principles and take AWAY this douchebag’s platform, we will continue to be subjected to his assinine remarks to the media. Really, I shouldn’t even be commenting-66 Comments+ simply reinforces the fact that we’re interested, even negatively, in this idiot. This will be my last Chris Brown comment-I won’t support this douchebag’s media attention further.

  67. the original bellaluna says:

    Memo to Chris:

“Grown-ass men” refer to themselves as “grown” or “grown men;”

    Grown men do not strut around in pants large enough for them and 3 of their closest friends to jump into, like some kind of clown-car jeans;

    Grown men have learned that it’s not okay to grab their pee-pees in public unless they are discreetly adjusting themselves;

Grown men know the value of a sincere apology, and they also know when to shut up – USUALLY.

Thank you for your immediate attention to these matters.

  68. Faye says:

It’s never going away, you fool. You can’t undo it. Just learn from it and STFU. But you should have known that already, what with being a grown-ass man and all.

  69. MorticiansDoItDeader says:

    @Rita, great comment.

    @TQB, spot on.

@Tiffany, What’s this about a tape of Jay-Z putting his hands on a woman? Do tell.

  70. Aspie says:

“And not for nothing, but Brown is black and Charlie is white. It’s disgusting, but clearly the public was willing to accept the idea that Brown was a thug, and completely unwilling to think the same of Sheen.”

@ TQB and Bella Mosley, thank you for finally stating what no seems willing to admit to in both situations regarding Chris Brown and Charlie Sheen.

Charlie Sheen’s has had a longer history of abuse towards women (and with substances, among other things) yet he still garners more sympathy for being an unrepentant and abusive ass. He deserves plenty more heat than what he’s received over his abuses. Chris Brown is a heck of a lot younger and still has plenty of growing up to do. Charlie Sheen is approaching (or over) 50 and still acts like he’s 12 and yet Chris Brown seems to be more vilified. And at age 21, Chris is a grown man and not a “boy”.

Both men are jerks for what they did however the double standard is just sickening and unfair.

  71. sandy says:

once again, just don’t speak about it, resist the urge, most who make mistakes, are not constantly giving interviews about it years after, people are not forgiving but they do forget for the most part, i am too tired to name names of past celebs mishap. (mistakes)

  72. Tiffany says:

@ Mortician. It was a while, pre his marriage but it was either his documentary or a hip hop one but there is some backstage footage. It has been awhile so I can’t think of the title. It was before he was the mega star he is now.

  73. Vesper says:

Another narcissistic as*hole who thinks it is all about him. It’s only two years later and he’s tired of apologizing. Did he ever really apologize?? I wonder how much remorse he’d feel if the pics never surfaced. So Chris thinks he is a grown man (albeit one without remorse), start acting (and dressing) like it, dumbass.

  74. poodlemom says:

    Pencil. Dick.

  75. Jag says:

I had been a fan of his, but stopped when the pictures were posted of what he did to Rihanna. The fact that he’s calling it a “mishap” disgusts me to the point that I now hate him more than Mike Tyson, and that’s saying something. (Hate that Tyson has a show about his owning pigeons debuting soon, too.) I don’t think his problem is his age because he’s had time to grow. My guess is that he’ll eventually have to serve jail time after really hurting a woman.

    My vote is ignore.

  76. Nikki says:

What a sorry, sorry piece of sh*t. I am beyond disgusted right now.

  77. CB Rawks says:

You have no right to be angry at anyone, you effing monster.

  78. Kamasutra says:

Charlie is free because he is white and chris is punished because he is black

  79. Hakura says:

@Rex & Lulu – The problem is that *he* brings up the topic, then has the gall to use the term ‘mishap‘ in reference to beating the hell out of his girlfriend.

He bragged about finishing the counselling/community service he was forced to do (as though he should be praised for it), but has never *once* seemed truly remorseful for what he did, only for being punished & publicly admonished for it.
The law may have given him a slap on the wrist, but that doesn’t mean we have to.

@TQB , Bella Mosely, Aspie – I do agree that it’s a combination of a lot of reasons, that change the way people react to similar situations portrayed by different people. (Of course race is going to play into that, even though it shouldn’t.)

Charlie Sheen should’ve been knocked violently off his high horse (& subsequently kicked in the ass) a long damned time ago, but he wasn’t, & now look what we’re stuck with… We need to nip this shit in the bud from now on, I’m talking complete social/economic/public rejection.

  80. dubdub2000 says:

I think there is a point that is remaining unsaid.
To the general public I don’t think it’s a race issue, it’s more the fact that Charlie Sheen abused prostitues and crackheads(his wife) whereas Chris abused Rihanna who despite her choice of clothes is neither.
Unfortunately it is quite acceptable or at least doesnt bother many people if someone abuses a prostitute or a crackhead, if however you abuse a star, on that is perceived as young and beautiful, then the gloves come off.
I think that is the issue.

As for Chris Brown, by now all he should be saying is something like: I f’ed up I know that, I was really disappointed in my beahavior and am working every day on becoming a better man, so that what I did does not beccome my defining moment. I will prove to you all that I have learned from this and will be a better man for it. PERIOD. That’s owning it, that’s remorse and tghat’s being positive and moving on. But that’s not going to happen: he’s an unabashed *ss. oh well there are lots of talented idiots out there, it doesnt give them a pass….

  81. Banshee74 says:

I think by “mishap” he meant “beatdown” Dirtbag needs to know proper euphamisms like “offense” and incident” It wasn’t an OOPSIE look what I did..tee hee…my bad!
