Whether she used the word rape or not doesn’t matter. I think we all received the joke in the vain in which it was delivered. She acts like she’s such a bad ass but when she receives some well received backlash from the garbage that comes out of her mouth, she can’t stand up and own it.

hey guys.
palin has stated time and again that she is against abortion even in cases of rape and incest. daisy, i wasn’t talking about in the case of ending the mother’s life.
she said “i’d just counsel them” in one interview. don’t know why she did that, since her views on it being made illegal are well known by now.
(here is just the first thing i found on youtube, she says she would defend a law that would outlaw abortion in cases of rape and incest. i’m sure there are many more.)

so i’m still confused about how only crazy extremists hold that opinion, when the potential VP has been so vocal about it herself.

and maybe i wasn’t clear. when i said “god forbid president” i meant, god forbid something happen to mccain, and palin becomes president. i was talking about palin.

as for scott, you have a point. but we should still be vigilant about our rights. even if it isn’t likely to happen, i find it scary that someone is campaigning for VP on the basis of taking away our rights. we should be sending the message that this is not OK, no matter how unlikely an actual change in the law might be.

The only woman deserving to win the title of first woman president was and still is Hillary Clinton. Sarah Palin is a oblivious “hockey mom” who thumps the bible way too many times and doesn’t read history books. She doesn’t deserve the title, all she deserves is the title of former beauty queen.

I hope you’re right Scott. But they’re pushing Amendment 48 here in Colorado with the hopes to dismantle not only Roe v. Wade, but Griswold v. Connecticut. It’s a dangerous amendment and a serious threat to women’s health. And with the Focus on the Family constituency championing it, the amendment is gaining momentum.

Radio stations were playing it when she first said it. I don’t remember is the word “rape” was specifically used, but the meaning was crystal clear. It was beyond disgusting, even for Sandra.

Boy…I didn’t think anyone ever cared about what this broad ever thought about anything. She was never funny and always hard to look at. Palin has a few women out there that are just jealous. A woman finally getting a chance to help run this country for a change. It’s about time.

@what – I ignore the crazy extremists who are in favor of partial birth abortion because *gasp* I don’t care about the crappy excuses they come up with to justify putting a woman’s life in danger to kill a almost-term baby. So yes, in addition to you actually checking out the facts rather than believing everything you hear you should indeed ignore the crazy extremists because this country is thankfully smart enough not to give extremists much power.

BTW, just because someone says they wouldn’t personally abort in that case in their own life, does not equal attempting to put policies in effect that would ban it. For instance, I would never have an abortion myself, BUT I can’t make that decision for every woman and am glad we have the choice, therefore if I were a politician I would not ban abortions. I should also clarify that I believe there are ENTIRELY too many abortions being performed a year, and I wish that that would change.

It’s unfortunate that a woman’s right to choose is only applicable if she is choosing to abort. Any woman who chooses life is seen as an enemy who wishes to take woman’s rights away.

Boots – Where on earth did you get that information? Having an abortion in no way predisposes a woman to developing breast cancer. Those are some ridiculous scare tactics.
