If she’s systematically used by all her “lovrs”, her parents are right. She should take her time and find someone kind and sincere.

I wish her good luck and I hope she’ll find true love, soon…

I don’t think it is that creepy — the reason he has these supervisory powers is because she clearly isn’t a competent adult. If she were, she could make all the decisions for herself that she wants, but, she’s NOT. It is sadder than it is creepy.

I can see that, she went a little crazy with the sex in the past, if all those rumors were true. She has notoriously bad decision-making skills, she’s like a 19 year old in college!

Where were her $@$&ing parents when she was being pimped out at 16/17 yrs old????! That’s what screwed her up with men. Now they get to play her hero? WTF? Her @#$*ing parents are mostly to blame. Now at 26, they’re being real parents? Huh, I hate to say BS, but sounds like they saw their gravy train derailing and are just trying to get it back on track. How do you go from pimping out your daughter to being her protector in just a few years?? How?

Maybe they’ve just said to her it would be advisable to steer clear of men for the time being and focus on getting well and her career back on track. And they’re not wrong.

Too little, too late. Look at her younger sister, knocked up at 17 by some kid who went around dipping his wick into other pots while she was pregnant (big surprise they aren’t married). Those parents are whacked out and enablers. Jayme on magazine covers saying she’s pregnant and being paid big money to show her pregnancy off. Nice role model, hey? Never mind all the crap Britney has done from the get-go, slinking around half-naked in videos when she was only 16, and 17. Yeah, that’s real parental support and it is hypocritical for the parents to tell their TWENTY-SIX year old daughter she can’t have sex or hook up with guys for six months. Where was that attitude when Jayme was having sex at 16? How about Britney when she was wrapped around a stripper pole when she was 17 (for one of her music videos)? Again, those parents are whacked and enablers. That’s why Britney and Jayme spread their legs when they were still “kids” themselves. Idiots. Oh wait, am I talking about the Palins? Wow, can’t tell the difference these days, eh? 8O

She is 26 years old. Her parents do not and should not factor in anymore.

Honey, I saw that video and it was powerful. It becomes more obvious that the only reason Britney is doing so well is because of the constant supervision she is under and that does not bode well for future. It’s a shame that instead of getting the help she really needs they are more focused on putting out a new cd and getting her back on the road. She has the look of a caged animal and I won’t be surprised if she goes bat sh*t, again.

aw… she got “grounded!” i wonder what else her parents have imposed? she probably has to come home right after school, and she can’t use her phone or drive her car for 2 weeks. sucks being the only legal adult who still gets grounded by her parents!

  11. anony says:

Well, desperate times call for desperate measures..

But this part:“Jamie and Lynne feel she’s so close to cracking the big time again that they don’t want anything to get in her way.”— The cynic in me would wonder why are so they so invested in her cracking the big time again? Why not get her settled in someplace off the pap radar and you know, focus on recovering 100%? It just seems a little suspect. Meal ticket needs to keep producing? With the kinds of problems she has endured that’s going to be a tenuous situation for a while I would think. Also getting meds just so, monitoring what works, what does not is ongoing.. the pressure of making sure she not only keep churning out music on schedule for the label but that they also succeed would seem to muddy the waters a bit. It’s hard enough just getting better and trying to be a mother to her kids.

In her dad’s defense though I read he was a chef and somewhat successful in his own right. So maybe their intentions are above board.

  12. Anne says:

I think she needs to take her millions and disappear. What she doesn’t need is a ‘come back’. Mental instability and fame don’t usually go well together. The pressure of performing and being on – too much pressure for a fragile mind. If she, or her dad, were truly looking out for her and her sons’ best interests there would be no music career right now.

I agree that the parents have screwed up royally, but… it is NEVER too late to try to save your child. Whatever her dad is doing seems to be working. Too bad Amy Winehouse doesn’t have someone controlling her actions too.

It’s been reported that she’s bipolar and extreme promiscuity can sometimes be associated with this. What doesn’t help is her mother airing the families dirty laundry in a book for her own gain.. Keep her on her meds and allow her to heal. Fame doesn’t work for everyone and Britney seems like a great example of someone who was allowed way too much too young. 26 is still very young and I hope she can find the happiness she deserves.

Ooh maybe they’ll issue a 6 month ban on Britney making new music and videos too. One can only dream……

  20. SolitaryAngel says:

I hope the parents are thinking that music will keep Britney focused and not that their cash machine needs to keep going!

As someone who is bipolar, and has bipolar relatives, I will say that the promiscuity thing happened to my cousin–and her parents had to do drastic things like this in order to control her to the point that she was settled on her meds and now that’s not a problem for her anymore—hasn’t been for years. So, it CAN be done, if done carefully.

I am concerned about Britney, though, and someone mentioned that “caged animal” look; I have noticed that too, and I think the stress and pressure of getting out on the road, making videos, etc. will be too much for her right now. She needs more time, NOT more pressure! I’m crossing my fingers that Dad keeps up his end of the conservatorship; he seems to be better for her than anyone else has been.

  22. Because I say So says:

Daddy Spears seems to have the right motivations. It was my understanding that Lynne Spears had control over Brit when she was younger–allowing her to do the risque videos and basically whoring her out– so now for Lynne to pull the concerned parent card is a load of crap.
Does anyone else find it strange that they spend so much time worrying about Brit and basically leave JL alone? If I was her, I think I’d be livid!

  23. aspen says:

They didn’t parent her the first go round. She completely lost her marbles, and daddy had to come and rescue her because no one else was going to.

The idea that some people are offended by a father and mother trying to care for their mentally ill kid…astounds me. Are we really all so slutty that the idea of a very temporary abstinence forced on a person who is too mentally whacked out to make decent choices wrankles? Seriously? 6 months without sex and men and living like a whore is GOOD for someone trying to learn to live with a mood disorder. Alcoholics and druggies are given the rule of abstinence in recovery, as well. The total wont of any moral center–though it shouldn’t, anymore–continues to astound me.

Britney’s parents didn’t teach her these things the first time because she was their meal ticket and they didn’t want to lose that by putting rules on her and “parenting.”

Now, they’re doing the right thing. I’m glad to see it.
