Angelina Jolie and some of her kids go out for Cheetos

Angelina Jolie was photographed out in New Orleans yesterday with Shiloh, two and a half, Pax, who turns five next month, and Zahara, who turns four in January. She wore a loose black sun dress and ballet flats and was seen holding Shiloh as the tot clutched a bag of Cheetos. Pax and Zahara rather sweetly held hands. This scene is similar to photos that came out this spring of Angelina taking some of the kids out for snacks in New Orleans. Shiloh was seen holding Cheetos back then, while Zahara had her own bag. The famous mom got some flack from the press at the time for letting her kids eat junk food. Before I became a mom I was more judgmental about parenting, but now that I know how complicated it is I don’t begrudge a kid their snacks. As long as it’s just an occasional treat I don’t see a problem with it. It’s when you go to either extreme and deny all treats or let them have it all the time that it becomes an issue.

Yesterday dad Brad Pitt was photographed riding his bike to a meeting at a nearby restaurant in the French Quarter, where the family has a six bedroom four and a half bath mansion. There is speculation that he may lend his support to Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama as the folder Pitt was carrying had an illustration of Obama on the cover.

The Jolie-Pitts have been jet-setting quite a bit lately. They settled down in France for the summer, arrived at a palatial estate in Berlin two weeks ago while Pitt was filming nearby, and were just in New York for the premiere of Jolie’s film, The Changeling. It is thought that they will soon return to Berlin.

i can’t belive Shi is actually wearing crocs. they must be ugliest shoes ever!
    cute family anyway.. πŸ™‚

  2. {oh!!} says:

    Beautiful family.

  3. geronimo says:

Gorgeous little kids. Look at Shiloh, all growed! Looks almost the same size as Queen Z. Must be all that international fresh air she’s getting. See, travel expands the mind AND the body. πŸ˜›

  4. Leandra says:

Almost everyone wears crocs for the comfort…nobody cares what they look like.

  5. Bodhi says:

Crocs have never touched my feet & never will… I do love me some Cheetos though! The regular kind, not the Puffs.

The kids are so cute! Shiloh’s hair has gotten so long! And how freaking cute are Pax & Zee?

  6. vdantev says:

I hear they are comfortable but still ugly as sin.

  7. Lola says:

I don’t see why she feels the need to hide the nannies in the back ground. We all know that she does not take care of 6 kids by herself. All that travelling and uprooting cannot be good for the kids. Didn’t they have schools to go to? It is school term isn’t it?

  8. minda says:

Hahaha, crocs are super ugly, I must agree. I’d rather keep wearing my heels and be in a bit of pain by the end of the day, than comfortable in those things. Hehehe… Shiloh’s going to be super gorgeous when she’s older I bet!

  9. dumdee says:

angie shouldnt let her kids eat so much junk food. that bag of cheetos are huge for one tiny little girl

  10. Syko says:

Well, you don’t know that the little girl is going to eat the entire bag of Cheetos, do you?

Amazes me that people make judgments about your parenting abilities based on one photograph.

Since it’s obviously a family outing to go buy the Cheetos, this would indicate to me that such things are not kept in the house routinely, and that it’s a very big treat for the kids.

  11. daisy424 says:

Those tourists in the carriage got an up close and personal celeb sighting on their ride, what luck. That poor horse, pulling all of those people.

    Love cheetos….

  12. Gigohead says:

That’s too funny that those tourists were up close to Angelina and her family. If I were them, I would have offered Angelina and the kids a ride. LOL πŸ˜€

  13. Kaiser says:

You know what I love? This is like the tenth pink outfit I’ve seen Zahara in – I think it’s hilarious because Angie is so NOT a girlie-girl, “let’s dress my daughters up in cute pink outfits” sort of mom. You totally know that Princess Z is picking out her own outfits – “NO, Mama, I’m GOING TO WEAR PINK!!!” πŸ˜†

Yeah, beautiful family. Angie looks amazing.

  14. bc says:

i LOVE pax’s overalls!! how cool! i’m gonna make me some of those!

  15. daisy424 says:

What nannies, did I miss something? 😯 In the video I saw a bodyguard, no nannies.

Kaiser, I think that pink is Zahara’s signiture color!
Bet she says “As if” when Angie picks out clothes she doesn’t like. πŸ˜€

  16. Chamalla says:

@Lola – the oldest kid in that picture is four, kindergarten doesn’t start until a kid is five. Unless they’re in preschool, I don’t think they’re missing anything. ; )

I love Z. She’s my favorite celebrity kid.

  17. breederina says:

I love the way these kids wear normal comfy play clothes that you can actually picture getting dirty and going through the laundry. They just look normal. And v. v. cute. Don’t see the problem with the Cheetos, nearly everyhing edible in our house is organic except the Cheetos, Fruit Koops and Pepperidge Farm. Jeebus kids need treats sometimes.NTM their father.
Re: the NoLa house pictures, they’re still up on a blog. Google Pitt Jolie New Orleans house. It’s the staged realtors version not the j/p’s, but a lovely house all the same.

  18. Kaiser says:

@Daisy – Totally. I bet Angie picks out Maddox’s hand-me-downs for Z, stuff with black and camo. And Z’s like, “Ah, no, I’m going to wear pink! Only pink!” πŸ˜›

  19. KERRI says:

They’re growing up so fast. Shi is a cuttie-doll that I would like to gobble up. Princess Z is a beauty with those georgous inquitive eyes. Pax is going to be a heart-breaker. Love his long hair. If I were a 4-year old girl, I’d be sending him love-cards “would you be my boyfriend”? πŸ˜€ πŸ˜›

  20. DarthVadersLoveChild says:

Shiloh is a wee bit on the pudgy side actually. Angie should keep an eye on the snacks.

  21. Candy says:

I love these kids. know hat I also love about them? They LOOK like kids, always wear simple clothes (i bet they’re expensive though, they look “normal” as if mommy told them”throw some clothes on, we’re going to supermarket”…unlike little Ms. Cruise who’s always so …made up.

  22. jeannified says:

I love seeing them doing normal, family things. You know those tourists on the carriage ride must have FLIPPED OUT when they saw Angelina with her kids!

  23. KERRI says:

Besides the horse, where is everybody??? πŸ˜•

  24. dovesgate says:

Oh how fun – I want to take a horse carriage ride through the French Quarter! New Orleans is the first city on my list of places I want to see before I die so I will have to add carriage ride to my list of things to do there.

  25. MomInNH says:

@Lola If I remember correctly Ange was quoted as saying that the children all have language tutors to teach them their native languages as well as every day schooling.

Besides that, the kids aren’t even old enough to attend an outside school. I believe they plan on home schooling the children at any rate.

  26. Bodhi says:

And two years olds are supposed to be “pudgy”. Not fat (obviously) but chubby

  27. Anni says:

Nice to see celeb kids dressed like actual kids for a change…one more pics of Suri in her doll-dresses and silver ballerinas and i am convinced that this kid is nothing but an accessory πŸ™„

  28. caribassett says:

not a brange fan but i will say my own kiddos wear crocs. Might be ugly but in addition to being comfy they are very easy to clean.

  29. shazzy says:

why bring Suri into all of this? at least she looks clean

  30. aspen says:

My daughter and I walk down to get her a treat every Friday if she has been good each day that week at school. What kind of nazi camp did you grow up in if you think getting chips occasionally is gonna make a kid fat or otherwise damaged?

And, yes, a mother can raise 6 kids without help. I have a friend with 5, and she and her husband have a fantastic way with parenting. They have a housekeeper but no nannies. Angelina doesn’t hide the fact that they employ nannies. She says, CONSTANTLY, that they are fortunate enough to have “help,” so they can take a night off now and then or catch up on sleep sometimes.

And…Crocs are comfy. Trust me, a two year old does not CARE what her shoes look like. She cares that they are her favorite color and she can put them on “all by herself.”

  31. RAN says:

That child is NOT chubby! Please stop speculating along those lines! She is normal, cute and (by all appearances) healthy. A couple snacks do not make the children fat, unhealthy lifestyle may do it, but not a cheeto or two.

Side note — why in the world does one of the supposed ‘beauties of the world’ insist on wearing that severe black all the time? Is she regressing back to the goth days?

  32. anastasiabeaverhausen says:

Shiloh is like a blond Angelina. Watch, that girl’s going to be freaking GORGEOUS.

Zahara is going to be a supermodel, watch. I’ve always thought she is the cutest little girl.

And how cute is Pax??? I love his hair!

  33. breederina says:

@Ran I wear a lot of black. With little ones every time you try to wear another color you’ve got visible stains and smears within minutes. Also, I like black, it always looks neat and relatively clean, it always matches, you don’t feel lumpy in it and it honors ones inner goth. πŸ™‚

  34. Alexa says:

OMG – Does anyone else just NEED to squeeze Shiloh’s cheeks? What a cute little bun she is. (She looks a lot like Brad to me.) Love ’em all. There’s nothing better than being part of a family that loves one another.

  35. GimmeABreak says:

Are you guys seriously picking on the kids shoes? Are you serious? Are you going to push her down on the playground, too? Wow…you guys have no shame.

  36. Jeanne says:

That little Shiloh is a dead ringer for Brad Pitt. Hope she’s having fun with them; they’re all cute kids!

  37. Jersey says:

Those tourists in the carriage got an up close and personal celeb sighting on their ride, what luck. That poor horse, pulling all of those people.

    Love cheetos….
