AW, gross … these two are prime examples of somebody who needs to stfu about their sexuality. Nobody wants a visual of an unkempt gorilla all over a matron. Not around here, anyway.

I love her acting but the stripping never did anybody any favors and was used in films simply to shock instead of look good.

I don’t know, he’s always seemed more like the kind of guy who lays it on for the entertainment value and knows when to back off. I doubt he really would be slobbering over her all the time, except as a joke.

Byron channelling the Marquis de Sade, dante!

Agree with Anon, just Russell being Russell. I’m sure they’ll have a blast working together.

The Marquis wasn’t a furry troglodyte according to his biographers, Ger.

Forget The Tempest, I would pay to watch the two of them flirt with each other.

Does anyone else have the urge to take notes whenever Helen Mirren is operating?

He IS a furry troglodyte!! But with a bit of sensitive poet and sex hound thrown in. 8)

I LOVE the header pics chosen – Helen is giving Russell the glad eye and he’s flabbergasted yet intrigued by the allure of The Mirren

God I hope he’s nothing like the Marquis de Sade – that was one sick-minded mofo 8O

But Russell does seem to be a decent guy – I caught a bit of British GMTV breakfast telly on holiday recently. They did this segment where they set up 3 scenarios – one was where the female reporter tripped and dropped her shopping. Allegedly the ONE person who came to her help was Mr. Brand

He was hilarious about it too – he said that he didn’t like to see someone in distress (and she was very pretty also which didn’t hurt – the slut). He signed off by saying “Now the message of this is never help anyone in trouble. If you see an old lady who’s fallen out of her wheelchair, don’t go near her – it’ll be Lorraine Kelly (breakfast telly legend) trying to catch you out!” Whattaguy

And Ceilidh, just on Jeremy Irons – I dig The Irons as much as the next person, but even I wouldn’t dream taking on the collective displeasure of the Cusack clan

Wait, Maireed, what’s this about the Cusack clan. Why can’t I have Jeremy Irons?

  12. Mairead says:

I’m referring to his wife, Sinéad’s 40 sisters (well, maybe not that many but seems like there are a lot of them).

And they all followed in their dad Cyril’s footsteps as a dramatic stage actresses, so there’ll be lots of overly-expressive gestures and shouting to be heard at the back of large theatres

Gotta agree with Kaiser… I think they’re both going to have a laugh flirting with each other but with absolutely no intention of any thing else. A bit of this sort of banter in the media never hurt a movie. Unless the film turns out to be absolute crap but with Ms Mirren on board I think it’ll make it.

Jeremy Irons update – apparently “reality tv” is now respectable!! 8O

I was watching an Irish chatshow last night (which I rarely do). They had a guest on who was doing a programme for TG4, Ireland’s Irish Language channel, about a group of people who will be learning traditional Irish instruments.

He mentioned that Jeremy Irons was one of the others! :o I’ve read that he will be learning the fiddle.

The programme will be called Faoi Lán Cheoil (it’s a play on faoi lán sheoil, which means “under full sail”)

Mairead – I am SCREAMING with laughter at ‘The Feirm Factor’!!! Immediately reminded me of the ‘Lovely Girl’ competiton on Father Ted!!

But Seoda sounds really interesting, as does ‘Faoi Lan Cheoil’ (might get someone to tape for me.) Thanks for the heads up.

  16. Mairead says:

 I’m telling you though – there will be a big audience for that!l.

TG4 is really getting a lot of kudos for its documentaries. My TG4 reception is terrible unfortunately – and I really wanted to see a programme on the Hells Kitchen hardman Mickey Spillane; it sounded fascinating.

But the one I really want to see is the one on Graineuaile. The term “pirate queen” just doesn’t do her justice.

Seóda sounds good too. It’ll be interesting to see which others will be shown. BUT I cannot stand Niall Tobin.

Ooooh, just to let you know geronimo, Mick Lally is joining the cast of Ros na Rún (home to the best soap baddie ever). The intro seems all fire and brimstone, so it should be interesting. Well, holy God!

PS – see if you can get anyone to give you copies of a new RTE drama called “Raw”. It’s actually enjoyable! 8O

    My goodness
    I can’t think of a better match!
Russell needs a mother figure (and since Matt is busy in US is not available) PLUS Helen is drop dead gorgeous and could probably teach Ol’Russ a fing or two
I’d love to see Russ sleep with his mental equivalent instead of the silly teens he usually beds
