This is a very amusing story in this week’s National Enquirer, who try to make a mini scandal out of what should be just a laughable anecdote. Supposedly Angelina Jolie is addicted to the number one game on iTunes like so many of us, Angry Birds. She’s been playing it nonstop during breaks on the set of Kung Fu Panda 2, and the crew is scared to play her because she’ll make them play until she beats them. She also is said to get so into the game that she’ll “scream and yell and make screechy bird sounds.” I hope she taunts her opponents with those smug “heh heh heh” grunts that the pigs make when you miss them. Those are my favorite even though you’re trying to blast those suckers.
Angelina Jolie is so obsessed with the video game “Angry Birds” that the cast and crew of “Kung Fu Panda 2″ were terrified she’d peck them to death!
The 35 year-old star played the addictive game nonstop during breaks from doing voice work on the animated film, sources say, and her competitive drive wreaked havoc on the set.
“Angelina’s completely consumed with ‘Angry Birds.’ If she had even 10 minutes of downtime, she’d challenge anyone to a quick game,” a set insider told The Enquirer.
“She’d get so into it that she’d scream and yell and make screechy bird sounds. The crew was scared to beat her because if they did, she’d demand a rematch.”
The “Angry Birds” vidieo game, in which players use a slingshot to launch birds at evil pigs – has taken Hollywood by storm…
On Angelina’s movie set, actor Jack Black… was the only person willing to challenge [her], said the source.
“The last thing anyone wanted to do was tick off the biggest movie star in the world, but Jack just ate up all the tension,” said the source. “He’d beat Angelina three out of four times and then razz everyone else because they wouldn’t play with her.”

The people at the Enquirer need to actually play Angry Birds before they write pieces like this. There’s nothing shameful about wanting to smash those pigs. It’s a great game and I know plenty of other people that love to play like we do at my house. My kid even convinced me to buy him a plush toy of that puffy red bird, and it’s his favorite stuffed animal. It’s a great game and I bet Angie’s kids get into it too, with Maddox the reigning champion. You know that Maddox mops the floor with everyone else.
On another note – they’re still working on Kung Fu Panda 2? I thought that was coming out this summer. (Moms pay attention to these things.) I just checked and it has a release date of May 26 this year. No wonder they don’t want Angelina to get distracted during work time. They need to finish that movie already.

I have something of a personal history with Jack that goes back to when he was 15 and continues today (that’s all I’ll say). He is a very down to earth, respectfull, and generous person. Not Ghandi, but a nice guy and yes, I know he’d open up a can of whoop-ass on AJ without the slightest sense of intimidation, although her children could probably bully the crap out of him which he’d love.

Stories about this woman are getting sillier by the day. Though this one strikes me as funny. However, most cartoon voice over work is not done on a “set”, but in a studio and most of the time, it is done one character at a time, not with everyone. So, the good old Enquirer needed a Jolie story that made her look loopy (this time with a video game of all things) and maybe, just maybe made one up, not that they have ever done that before, especially with her!!

You know it is going to be a slow celebitty news day when the most interesting story during the morning edition is about Angelina playing Angry Birds. Oh and @notpretentious: I love Jack Black too. I saw a picture of him with his son the other day and his little boy is sooooo cute, and Jack makes a super cute proud papa.

I’ve only ever played Angry Birds on the phone app, so I’m kind of fascinated by the concept of actually playing against an opponent. Also, I’ve been playing for nearly a year and a half, but I think I muted it after the first five minutes and I have no memory of what the pigs sound like. Apparently I’ve been missing out.

I tried to play Angry Birds, but I was upset that the birds that you fire just go “poof” and disappear in a puff of feathers (plus I sucked at it). I mean, games where I’m fighting bad guys and the bad guys go “poof” don’t bother me, but these are innocent birds that just want their eggs back that I am rocketing to their deaths. I won’t play Burn the Rope for a similar reason — you have to light these poor, innocent bugs on fire to connect sections of rope. Why bugs? Why not like plastic pieces or some sort of inanimate object?
Yes, I know, I’m way, way too sensitive. My daughter rolls her eyes and shakes her head at me, too. *hangs head in shame*

LOVE the green dress. Is it crazy that I think she is even prettier when pregnant than otherwise? Don’t get me wrong, I think she is pretty all the time but she looks like a goddess here. Don’t have a clue about Angry Birds, but I am sure my husband does. I might have to check it out. That is crazy about the extra line on her coordinates tattoo. Big announcement soon I expect! If they adopted again I hope they picked another child from Africa, just so Empress Zahara has someone that looks like her, how the triplets look alike and Maddox and Pax semi-look alike. I am not trying to be rude with that comment, I don’t want to offend anyone.

Angry birds is hugely addictive and this story about Angelina playing it makes her seem much more human rather than the beautiful untouchable goddess that she is

I thought I read here that AJ didn’t do technology which is why she was never fussed over gossip crap. She just never saw any of it. Perhaps with the kids getting older, she – like alot of us probably – has an XBox taking up space in the middle of her livingroom. With that said, lets hope she has an Android instead of an iphone.

Really confused.. what SET are they talking about. KFP 2 is an animated film. YOU go into a sound booth and do the voice work. Why would she be sitting around waiting on a set. Plus she has said she in not good at computer games. But she has 2 sons old enough to play them. She has said that they have called her back in because when Jack had to add or redo something he changed things or did something where she had to go back in to add voice work.
There is NO set on animated films. It takes a few days to do the voice work. So this story is bogus.
And of course we get the FFers with their snark and silliness regarding anything about her. They take a magnifying lens and look at every word and try to twist it to something negative. Grow up and get a life. Angie’s life seems quite nice.
