Kelly Osbourne at the Material Girl launch: refreshingly cute or just boring?

wenn3264355

Kelly Osbourne was named the new “face” of Madonna and Lourdes’ Material Girl clothing line for Macy’s, shortly after Raccoon McPantless was ousted. We’ve already seen Kelly’s ads, which I found refreshingly cute and sweet, and totally appropriate for a juniors’ line. These new photos are from some kind of formal event for Material Girl – Kelly showed up, walked a red carpet, and then did a sit-down interview in front of an audience, I think. And because Kelly isn’t Raccoon-like, the whole event went off without a hitch.

This is kind of a boring sidenote, but whatever: I really like Kelly’s hair these days. I love the cut, the layers, and the color. This is maybe the best hair she’s ever had, in my opinion. It softens her face (that jaw!), it makes her look younger and prettier and just more pulled together. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of this outfit, but I suspect she’s wearing head-to-toe Material Girl, so whatever. Cute.

Cute, I like her new look, but is it just me or does she resemble Khloe Kardashian in the face?

  2. Turquoise Blue says:

Horrible clothing! Looks like something you’d have found at Wal-Mart in the 80s.

  3. Anti-icon says:

I want to support Kelly Osborne, because I like her and her mother. So here’s my advice to Kelly: quit your job with Madonna, and protest Madonna’s corrupt/fraud perpetuated on Malwai. That would establish you as the THINKING person you are. Other endorsements will follow for you.

  4. Quest says:

I wonder if the Fashion Police will highlight this outfit. I am loving the shoes but not so much the outfit, it’s a bit busy for my taste

  5. jdao says:

    Yawn.

  6. Anonandonandon says:

To me she will always look like Ozzy in a dress.

  7. Amy says:

I’m afflicted with the same leg issue as Kelly. I could whittle myself down to a size 6 or 4 and still have short, stout legs.

  8. kelbear says:

    She’s gaining some weight back.

  9. mmf says:

    Those foot tats are classy.

  10. Jillian says:

Her face looks fat and bloated.

  11. Susan says:

    What an adorable bull dog!

  12. Caity says:

Holy Kelly Taylor! Why do Madonna/Lourdes think this fug 90210 remix looks good?

  13. Hollowdoll says:

Her hair is definitely much better. I actually like her face a little fuller it was too angular when she was a little thinner. I have tattoos but I don’t get the ones on her feet. But oh well. I give her props just for being able to walk in those shoes. I would break my neck and my skirt would fly up while all the camera’s are clicking away.

  14. Samigirl says:

Ok. I see this with her, and I’ve seen it with tons of other celebs. WTH is with the wearing of shoes that are too big?! I’m a normal person and I have no problem finding shoes that fit me.

  15. spinner says:

She has definitely gained some weight back. Love those shoes but that’s about it as far as the outfit goes.

  16. Skins says:

Say what you want about Raccoon, but she has talent and has accomplished a lot of things in her life. What has Kelly done besides being Ozzy’s daughter? Oh, I forgot, what was it? Blah, Blah Blah.

  17. the original bellaluna says:

I like her; I’m happy she lost a of lot weight; I don’t judge her for gaining some of it back (a significant weight loss is difficult to maintain over time); I just wish she wasn’t associated with anything Vadge does (especially today!).

And that outfit is definitely a throw-back to the 80’s – not good.

  18. Stephy2585 says:

Maybe with a soild tank underneath the outfit would have been passable buut floral, and polkdots?? It’s seriously awful.

  19. Ally says:

@Caity: You beat me to it!

    This is so Donna-original-90210, I just can’t.

  20. Ell says:

Why is she famous? Why is she modelling?

I can’t stand her mother and I’m afraid Kelly’s proved she’s a chip off the old block.

  21. Hhhmm says:

She looks like Glenn Quagmires sister… Gigigiiidddyy.

  22. devilgirl says:

Ugly. And what is with celebrities or pseudo celebs not ever getting a pair of shoes that fit.

  23. melinda says:

I don’t like anything about the look but the hair.

  24. LBeees says:

    @Samigirl and devilgirl:

The shoe thing is because these are samples given out by designers for wear at shows and premiers. They don’t always have the perfect size so stars take a little too big of a shoe just to make it work.

I remember seeing the same comment about some shoes for MK & Ashley Olsen, and their shoes were at least a size or two large. The stylist explained it all, to my satisfaction at least.

yeah and this outfit is FUG !!

  25. k says:

I’m all about not being super matchy-matchy, but this is too much, and not flattering.

  26. becky says:

    @sammi girl
i wear size 5 shoes and many designers only start at six, others sell out really fast in the small size. i have to stick the little insoles ijn the shoes to make them fit.thats whatsup w the olsens too i think.

  27. Miss Marie says:

Chipmunk cheeks a sign of bulimia…

  28. TXCinderella says:

    Ugh. Nope, not cute.

  29. Stacia says:

She seem like a nice enough girl, but she has the legs of a first string linebacker.

  30. bagladey says:

Kelly looks cute but her outfit looks like dated “home clothes” that I would “use” to go outside and water the garden (minus the pumps of course); and EVERYBODY in the 80s had those three pieces that Kelly has on, especially that skirt which I (and probably millions like me) had in tens of fabric patterns and colours.

  31. lucy2 says:

I like her hair, but the outfit has to go. She looks good when she goes glam, but I wish she’d get the arm tattoos removed – you can’t really see them here but on FP they’re very distracting.

  32. Maritza says:

She has gained weight and it has gone all to her face! Those shoes look big but she looks cute anyway.

  33. Madam U says:

I love her. She is so sweet in Fashion Police. If she doesn’t like an outfit, she doesn’t reject it in a bitchy way. Unlike Joan of Fart.

  34. gg says:

Truly awful shoes! That heel is hideous and they look very cheap.

  35. Madam U says:

I love her. She is so sweet on Fashion Police. If she doesn’t like an outfit, she won’t reject it in a mean way, unlike Joan of Fart.

  36. gamblea says:

I like the hair cut but the outfit is too busy. A plain white tank top and ditch the overshirt, clunky shoes and chunky bracelets, it’s like she got dressed in the dark?

  37. Samigirl says:

so…they take samples even though they are too big, even though they could afford to buy the ones that fit? Celebs are so weird.

  38. mdf says:

The shoes I love, her haircut is FABULOUS, but I’m getting the teenage white-trash vibe from the outfit itself.

  39. Deven says:

These people with the huge shoes on must really look cute stumbling around and walking out of the shoes unexpectedly. Even if her outfit were gorgeous (not), it would look ridiculous with the oversize shoes. This goes for all the other celebrities, too.

  40. GT says:

holy shit, I’m so glad i’m not a celebrity so everyone who has an inferiority complex or PMS can come and rip me to shreds. People – she’s a person!! Unbelievable. It’s one thing to comment on clothes or shoes but physical appearance??

  41. annie says:

she’s cute and I love her spunky personality and at the same time she can be demure! love ya kelly!

  42. Kate says:

I don’t care how thin she gets (this is her new thing right) she still has 3 chins

  43. Mtn Girl says:

@ Turquoise Blue, I was thinking the same thing. Boring Sidney. If I roll up the sleeves and cut off the bottom half, the chambray shirt I wear to to do yard work looks the same. If I put it over duds of the eighties from a local thrift store – same look! Major fail.

  44. wunderkindt says:

The outfit looks like late 80s/early 90s.
Q: Why can Kelly O lose weight everywhere except in the face? Everything changed but the pudgy face stayed the same. (mystified)

  45. Stephanie says:

Yes, her hair is very pretty here.

  46. Shannon says:

For the people complaining about how dated the outfit looks – late 80’s fashion has been “in” for juniors fashion for the last couple of years. Fashion eras get recycled, you know. And lately it’s been happening faster and faster.

Anyway, I agree with the people assuming she’s wearing the Material Girl line. This isn’t Kelly’s normal fashion, so the 80’s thing makes sense considering its juniors apparel.

  47. Kiska says:

It looks like she found my cast offs from the 1980’s

  48. JenJen says:

I wish this spoiled brat would get a talent, oh that’s right, she has one, judging how others look. She deserves every bit of backlash her fat azz gets.

  49. Vicki. says:

Ok ok I’ll say it, she’s got bigger jowls than mike Tyson and her legs were made by Jimmy dean…ouch!

  50. Laura says:

I still can’t get over how much she looks like her dad now that she’s lost weight.

  51. Drulius says:

Her hair – it’s the Rachel cut. The 90’s are coming back around already?

  52. Sue says:

JenJen:@ Do you actually watch Fashion Police because if you did you would know that she doesn’t judging how others look but what they wear.

  53. Magsy says:

GT why you here? Everybody rips. Check the website name. Last time I checked doesn’t say Celebnicey, Celebpositive commentsonly. If we didn’t have physical, what else is there to say? We’re looking at pictures, hello?*&^%

  54. Vicki. says:

    Hey samgirl!
The shoes aren’t per se too big the heels are so high the foot falls into the shoe. Hair cut& thick clunky heel- hello 1997
