The man whose name is synonymous with snark, Perez Hilton, is writing a children’s book that will be out this September called The Boy With The Pink Hair. I would say that Perez should write a gossip book first, but he’s already put out a couple of those that we’ve forgotten about. Perez is quoted by USA Today as saying that “This story is about every kid that’s ever had a dream, felt excluded, wanted to belong, and hoped that one day they could do what they loved and make a difference.” Penguin has more in a press release:
“The Boy With Pink Hair” is the story of a child born with a shock of fabulous hair that sets him apart from his peers. While some find this difference hard to accept or understand, “The Boy With Pink Hair” uses the opportunity to find what makes him special and share it with the world. The children’s book is illustrated with vibrant retro-feeling art by first-time illustrator Jen Hill, putting into pictures the fun that comes with embracing individuality.

So Perez got sort-of nice after those gay teen suicides and maybe coinciding with the talking to he had from Jennifer Aniston and now he’s putting out a kid’s book about acceptance and “embracing individuality“. He also claims to be “making a difference” with his job. It’s hard to buy coming from a guy who made a name for himself outing celebrities and drawing cum stains on their mouths, to say the least.

I just read an interview in National Review about “men” who remain childish. Pereze Hilton should get fashion tips from Scott Disick, and personality tips.
Really Perez? I get that he wanted to be all “nice” because now he seems to care about being a celebrity and being liked but when on earth did he think “hey, I could write a book for children.. about embracing individuality!”. Is this going to be ghost-written? Oh well, I just hope someone is there to check spelling mistakes. I’m not a grammar Nazi but I find it difficult to read his site- not just because he now spends his time self-promoting and declaring his love for Lady Gaga. Ugh!

I never read his site, it’s just SO mean spirited. You can tell he was the kid who got picked on and bullied in school and grew up to pick on and bully others.

Can’t believe a book publisher is letting him publish a book; there are so many other gay men/women that could relate to the subject matter of differences and inclusion; so many more that could be more relatable and compassionate. Wrong choice, Penguin.

@PhotoJoJo: Perez was pretty mean until about six or seven months ago, and now he’s just a major kiss-ass. I can’t even read his site anymore, he’s such a suck-up. I read somewhere a few weeks back that ever since he started getting nicer, his traffic is way down. And I have his first two books, but I doubt I’ll be getting this one!
Honestly, I used to visit his site all the time. He was mean! But when he got nice he got too nice and NOW I cannot stand to read it! So I have totally stopped visiting his site.
Does that make me evil? I don’t know but now it seems like he just kisses ass and states obvious boring commentary… unlike *other* sites that are endlessly entertaining (like this one)! Haha 🙂

This sounds like a very blatant rip off of the book David Walliams (Little Britain) wrote a few years back, “The Boy in the Dress”.
I boycotted that douchetard well over a year ago, possibly closer to two. I think it was after some musician he’d been picking on said in an interview that she was quitting performing and going back to writing for other artists because she’d started having panic attacks. And he MOCKED her for it. I’d just had enough of him bullying people and outing people and just being an all around dick. Besides, his posts were usually days late and filled with already disproven “facts” most of the time. He is the LAST person who needs to be writing a children’s book. FFS.
I could never get his stupid site to load on my computer. Just as well, the bitchy is so much more on top of it all. We just need to find a way to get it out there.

I’ve only been to his site a few times a long time ago. I couldn’t believe the MS paint penis drawings. Yeah, the things he wrote were vile too, but I thought to myself, “Is he in jr high? What’s with the penises?”
Can you imagine buying that book for your kid and then a couple of years later your kid decides to google the name of the author who wrote that book that she liked to see if he’d written any other likeable books?
It’s worse than Dr. Ruth on Between the Lions, I’m telling ya. (Which I actually liked, partly because my kids will never be able to spell Westheimer or Wordheimer, which they changed her last name to for the show. And Dr. Ruth is generally a positive person, while no amount of asskissing will make up for all the negative crap Perez Hilton has put out over the years.)
