Last week, we had the horrible photos from the American premiere of Sucker Punch. The photos were just terrible, because all of the “stars” of the film were dressed like they were in a B-list pageant: lots of tacky satin gowns and angst. Last night was the London premiere for Sucker Punch, and I have to admit, some of the girls stepped it up a notch. Vanessa Hudgens is the obvious leader, I suppose, just because I know who she is. The gown is Alberta Ferretti. I like the gown, in general. I probably would have liked it better on someone else, but I don’t hate it on Vanessa.
I do have two problems with it, though. First of all, Vanessa is a compulsive over-dresser and pageant-gown-wearer. If it’s made from cheap looking satin, Vanessa buys it. This is one of the higher-quality gowns she’s worn, and that deserves applause, but she’s still over-dressed for a premiere, in my opinion. Second problem: this dress should have better tailoring. There’s too much fabric in the midsection, and it makes Vanessa look thick-waisted (which she is not).
And since I’m not feeling up to dissecting each of the “stars” dress-by-dress, here’s a group photo. I actually think Jena Malone is the most improved. Abbie Cornish just CANNOT dress to save her life, though.

I’m not feeling the dresses at all. Both last time and this time around. Vanessa’s facial expressions always ruin it for me, but I’m also not a big fan of satin.

THe dress is pretty but a little too grown up for her maybe? It might look better close up–her makeup is lovely.
Her mouth (which I don’t think can be natural but who knows) looks like the same mouth as the Grinch Who Stole Christmas. She annoys the crap out of me.
VH always goes overboard to draw attention, don’t care much for her – she is overrated and doesn’t do much for the dress.
I like the dress on Vanessa, what I can’t stand is the hairstyle and the make up. All too tacky.
Jena Malone.. oh my god… she’s too thin, I hope she’ll gain a few pounds because she looks horrible like this, look at her face.. ugh.
She still looks like Snooki’s cousin to me.
What’s up with her wearing those scarf thingys on her head recently? That’s the second time I’ve seen her wearing one randomly with an outfit (and this time it’s with a nice dress?) Is she trying to start a new trend because, um…no.
It might be that I’m not on-trend with current design details, but the way the dress is ruching at the hips just looks wrong, I’ve seen stuff on shop discount rails because they’ve had flaws which produce that effect.
I much prefer Jena Malone’s outfit on that group picture.
I think she looks lovely in a beautiful dress. It’s so cute when Vanessa plays dress up!
Next time, she should try a gown that she doesn’t swim in. They do come in munchkin you know.
Too big @ the top…too tight in the hips. So tacky. Not enuff boobage to fill it out.

Maybe she is the blind about the actress getting a pregnancy test kit. She looks a little thick waisted when the dress hits her middle and she wasn’t poochy there before.
lovely dress but not on her – she’s too small and too young. plus it’s not fitted well. imagine it on cate blanchett….sigh*
Anything, no matter how modest and stylish, automatically becomes tacky and trashy when put on someone tacky and trashy.

I agree with you, she’s recently single, would consider pregnancy as a great way to get publicity… but is on the young side.
I really love the hood thing for some inexplicable reason, but you’re right, the dress is too much, especially compared to the other girls. Also, it doesn’t seem to fit right.

@Hmmmm there are picture of her in workout clothes and there no bump I think it’s just the dress satin is very hard fabric to wear.
No shade, just stating my opinion. Girlfriend is not very pretty, she is just there. She’s like a little hairball or something, esp. with those sideburns of hers.
I have seen Abbie Cornish a million times in the last week(actually 5 minutes ago on another site), and still can’t figure out which person she is in this pic.

She is the very definition of forgettable. I can never remember what she looks like, what she has been in…I can’t even remember having read an interview of hers. Human oatmeal.
