Britney Spears debuts Armageddon-themed video for “Till The World Ends”

britney2

Last night, Britney Spears tweeted the link to her new music video for “Till The World Ends”. It’s Armageddon Britney! Armageddon Britney still has a busted weave, but at least the weave is busted for good reason – the apocalyptic sewer dance club! In Armageddon Britney’s video fantasy, when the End of Days comes, we will all be wearing studded leather in the sweaty, strobe-light infested sewer dance halls and we will be dancing to cheesy Britney Spears music as the world burns. Quaint. Here’s the video:

Ke$ha wrote this song for Britney, right? I would be interested in hearing Ke$ha’s version of it, honestly. But the video isn’t too bad. I think it’s much better than her last video for “Hold It Against Me”. Even though that one had $500,000 worth of product placement, the whole thing felt cheap, especially with all of the too-fast cuts to and from Britney, as if she couldn’t maintain a veneer of sobriety and lucidity for more than two seconds. In this video, at least we get to see her dance a little bit (although the cuts away from her are still fast).

Oh, and her body looks great! I saw a quick shot of her booty and it looks fantastic.

I like this one better than the previous one, too!

    And this booty!!!!

They should have incorporated Ashton with his kit in this video lol.

  2. Darlene says:

She looks awesome. I like this a lot better than her “Hold it Against Me” video. Lots more energy from her.

  3. hmmmhmm says:

Soo.. the beginning part 00:25 really, really sounds like the new crap enrique guy has been spewing. the I want to F&@* you tonight song. that jocker! jk. Honestly, what makes her a star is her personality. I prefer her over the Cristina drunk.

  4. zxc says:

It’s better but she’s still barely moving.

  5. cici says:

    she’s so pretty!

  6. RHONYC says:

    this is ‘slave 4 u’ 2.0

only, i am looking at britney the same way i did at sharon stone in ‘basic instinct 2’.

sure, your body is not a hot mess…but, do we really wanna revisit your glory days again the ‘exact’ same way on screen?

i mean, how much more ‘hand/orgy/pose dancing’ can one take?

    *eyeroll* 🙁

  7. Elj says:

She looks exactly like she did in the Stronger video. The hair is getting sooooo boring, she’s like the Jennifer Aniston of cheesy pop.

  8. Marc says:

@hmmmhmm you forgot add that you prefer DRUGGED BRITNEY than drunk Christina. And yeah Brit has such a great trailer white trash personality.

  9. Angelina says:

I like this better than the previous one too! Poor girl has been through hell and back…happy to see to her doing better…even if it’s just a small glimpse of the old Britney.

  10. Quest says:

@RHONYC – I was thinking the same thing, but it’s time Brit-Brit leave the pop-princess days and grow up (re-invent yourself). How long would you hang on to the glory pop days.

It’s was like re-living “I’m a slave for you” routine all over again.

  11. TQB says:

I think she looks great – she looks awake and has sassy bitchface again. She hasn’t mustered that in years. I wish she’d never made the other trainwreck video.

I mean, I’m not buyin’ concert tickets or albums or anything, I just think she does look like she actually cared to perform for this shoot, which is nice.

  12. jenn says:

The lighting, the heavy breathing…it’s Slave 4 U part 2.

  13. Jayna says:

I hated the other video. But this one is really good and relates to the music, even though Britney still isn’t moving much.

I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song. I play it all the time. I love good pop club dance music, and this album is FANTASTIC. It’s fresh, fun, and is going to be a great summer album. I have no desire to see Britney live because of her lip-synching and her dance moves have dried up, due to knee problems and her probably being on meds for bipolar. But Brit has put out such a fresh album to listen to, and I applaud her and that’s all I really care about.

Some other songs off Femme Fatale:

Trip to Your Heart – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN1JWyz_cQk&feature=related

    I Wanna Go – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxkC4PszFPQ

  14. LolaBella says:

So far this song is my favorite off the new album Femme Fatale.

Love the vid and yes it is very reminiscent of Slave 4 U (which is one of her best videos, IMO).

Brit’s body looks really good, I would love to have her body.

“i mean, how much more ‘hand/orgy/pose dancing’ can one take?”

IKR, it’s sad that this is where she is as a performer today; a drugged to the gills, dead-eyed individual.

I think it’s time that Daddy Spears stops being greedy and stops selling his daughter out like this.

She’s made enough money for several lifetimes, there’s no need to take advantage of her; it’s obvious the woman isn’t fully there.

  15. samihami says:

Ugh. It’s all autotune! You can’t even tell what her voice actually sounds like! This is NOT music.

  16. Caz says:

This is a really good song & vid. She’s baack! Good on her. Did Kesha really write this? Why didn’t she do it herself? Can totally see Kesha doing this justice too- there’s total interchangeability about pop singers these days. None of them are really original.

  17. kelbear says:

I love the song and the video is so much better than the last one. There is just someone with the choreography I don’t like. When she is standing profile and doing the thing with her arms, it seems weird to me.

  18. cara says:

I became a fan when she said FU world and shaved her head. Musically, I couldn’t ever get on board. But THIS may just be my new Jam. And I don’t know about you, but when this girl smiles, I swear, I get a bit choked up. I really feel that all she wants to do is just be a regular 1970/80’s era american mom. (don’t we all ms. britney, don’t we all)

and p.s. I’m w/Brit, I’m gonna dance till the world ends too. How else should we roll?? 🙂

  19. daisy says:

you would think her hair would have grown back by now…

  20. eggy weggs says:

That red orange catsuit-y thing? WHOA! Yay for Britney! I think her team is getting back on with the crazy high production values.

  21. junipergreen says:

    :sigh:

She always talks about how she loves to dance and how dancing is what keeps her happy…but she never dances. I wonder why? I wish she would actually acknowledge that and say why. I know she won’t, but goddamn, it’s baffling.

  22. daisy says:

oh and they cut away cuz she cant pop it like she use to but shes trying. and darn it i know this is gonna be popular. its catchy.

  23. hmmhmm says:

@cara, her smile really does it for me,

hence @marc, I believe that as untalented as Britney is compared to other greats, it is/was her passion once. Honestly, I always thought the song “Lucky” was a personal cry for help but she really did lead a perfect life then. I think all the years of performing took a toll on her mental health considering if she has bi-polar, she probably always had it and it was masked. No one knows what it’s like to be a star, especially so young when all the performer wants to do is perform what they like, assuming that’s what the goal is for them.

  24. Amanda says:

SO much better than the last one. Phew!

  25. luls says:

some parts of the choreography look funny. like theyre deliberatey being acted out. her “acting/dancing” isnt natural the way it used to be.
E.G: the part where she claps…. its just awkward.
However, i DEF prefer this SONG AND VID to the last one!

  26. Hakura says:

@Malina“They should have incorporated Ashton with his kit in this video lol.”

*snort* xD That would’ve been hilarious.

@Cara“And I don’t know about you, but when this girl smiles, I swear, I get a bit choked up.”

I’m the same way… Whenever she’s smiling (& it appears to be genuine), I always realize that I’m smiling. She’s just endeared herself to me… As I’m sure a lot of other people feel, she was an actual aspect of my life in my teen years… I can’t help but care.

I think this was much better in terms of ‘energy’. (Who knows, maybe she was going for a reprise of ‘Slave 4 U’s video?). I’m really surprised to see that she’s so good at dance music (pure dance music as opposed to just pop music with a beat). I’m sure this album is going to do very well.

  27. Katie says:

It’s kind of sad that Britney’s dancing has been reduced to simple gyrating, but this is the best she has looked in a long time.

  28. Anna says:

They keep showing pics of her leaving dance rehearsals – I wonder how she feels watching these videos when she spent months rehearsing the dances that got totally cut from the final product?

  29. Turquoise Blue says:

This is so much better than that last video. She’s smiling in places, and there’s a lot more energy. I know the cutaways are fast and there’s still not MUCH dancing but it’s a step in the right direction for sure. Also, no cheesy Plenty of Fish ads! Yay for lack of product placement!

  30. jover says:

Agree samihami – I have to wonder do some people today know what real live great female singers – aretha, ella, Tina Turner, Pat Benatar, selena, etc. – sound like live – why this talentless moron gets a pass is beyond me and many others – she doesn’t read music, write music, play an instrument or sing live – where’s the talent; look at the album credits for the cd what 50 people were responsible for this hollow forgettable crap. People need to raise their standards; this is corporate product, nothing more. THat she and her “team” pass this off as music proves PT Barnum correct.

  31. Stef says:

Ok, to me, Britney is the anti-Lindsay. She went through a really bad place in life and she had people around her to kind of help pull her out of it. She had legitimate problems in terms of sickness. She had missteps (gimme more, MTV performance, yikes), but I have to say, I actually still like Britney. I’m not a big fan of Femme Fatale – way to clubby and techno for me – but I do like this song. And honestly, I’m sure there’s photoshop involved, but I think this is the best she’s looked since pre-Federline. Her hair is still a weave, but it looks more…organized.

Also, did anyone else notice that when she looked most busted and cracked out in the last few years, she had no eyebrows? For the longest time, I felt like she looked so horrible because she had no eyebrows. She was either dying them really light or waxing them all off. In this, she has eyebrows and her face looks pretty.

Also, while she’s not thin like she was when she was 17, I give her credit. For 2 kids, she may be thick, but she’s in damn good shape. I think she looks good.

I always hoe for the best for Brit. I think she really was sick and is genuinely trying to get her sh*t together. Lindsay should take a few notes.

  32. becky says:

    AMAZING
    luv this album
    luv the videos
    luv HER NEW WEAVE
hate all u want, Brit might not sing (or dance anymore), but bitch is fierce

  33. becky says:

    @jayna
Drop Dead Beautiful is my second fav song
    in Femme fatale
    Its soooooooooooo good

  34. Anonymous says:

I love this song, but than the other video Hold it against me. Britney still got, she is back, she will always be the Princess of Pop

  35. Sarah says:

    @Stef re: eyebrows…

Just like face-picking (obsessive pimple-popping, scratching, etc.), over-tweezing of the eyebrows can be a symptom of mental health issues, especially high anxiety. I have an anxiety disorder that’s under control now, but when I was younger I would definitely over-tweeze during times of high stress and anxiety. Maybe BritBrit needed a tweezer intervention?

  36. Anonandonandon says:

    Britney’s back alright!

She’s back to being the biggest @*#^%! phony in the music industry. She will always be known as the Princess of Pop… and as an untalented, pathological liar who lost her looks in her early twenties and pantomimed her way through a music career. Her breakdown, which she made sure was well documented, saved her career. Otherwise, no one would be making all these excuses as to why it’s okay for Britney to lip sync while barely moving and still charge her fans top dollar to watch her “perform”. She’ll get to coast the rest of her life in the music industry because she was once young, cute and could dance for a very brief period of her life. I feel sorry for anyone with talent or integrity that has to remain in her shadow. How can anyone possibly make fun of the efforts of people like Rebecca Black (Friday) while Britney is still active in the industry?

  37. Hakura says:

@Anonandonandon – My, that was unpleasant.

You’re welcome to your opinion of course, but it’s ridiculous to imply she invented a mental illness & ‘engineered’ her breakdown for publicity & a ‘built in excuse’. I don’t think it ‘saved’ her career at all. Quite the opposite. Even though I like & support her, she may still be unable to continue with her career entirely.

  38. Anonandonandon says:

    @Hakura

    Thanks for your permission. 😉

Bullshit it didn’t save her career! She was losing fans in droves. She showed everyone how dumb, immature and uncharismatic she was with her reality show and her interview with Matt Lauer. She was getting hammered every night while her kids were home and fans were even shutting down their online Britney shrines because of her behavior. Her breakdown happened after all of this. It was only around when Craig Ferguson declared that it wasn’t funny anymore that people started pitying Britney. She may have a mental illness, millions of us do. But it is constantly used as an excuse for her non-participation in her music career. She was even given some sympathy awards by MTV at the beginning of her comeback. She has the support of millions of fans and can live the rest of her life in extreme wealth and comfort which is an option billions of us don’t have. Is that not enough? Should her many critics remain silent even on a website designed to bitch about celebrities? I can pity her condition but her career is fair game and it has been well orchestrated from the beginning. You and her fans may find my post unpleasant but that may be because it’s accurate.

  39. I Choose Me says:

Yep, I’m definitely reminded of the Slave 4 U video but I gotta say she looks more animated in this video than she has been in a looooong time. And I agree that her body still looks good.

  40. MNGIRL76 says:

    @ Anonandonandon

    Wow! Very interesting!

  41. Amanda G says:

Meh…it’s a big orgy, so what?

I keep waiting for her to stop the arm dancing and just MOVE!

  42. whitedaisy says:

Britney, Britney. I feel for her living with mental illness in the spotlight.
But anyone who thinks her “talent” goes beyond an attractive girl past her prime, is seriously deluded.
Since when did something like the video above represent entertainment?
I am worried for our lack of standards….

  43. Zelda says:

I HATE her “singing” faces. She looks–has always looked–like she is having a bowel movement when she lipsyncs.

She’s not even good at that.

  44. Dingles says:

That was SO much better than the last video! She seemed to actually have some spark in this and she looks fantastic. I just wished the camera stayed on Britney more, half the video was of her random dancers. No one watches Britney Spears videos for the dancers.

And I’m so over people saying she has no talent. Talent doesn’t always come in the form of song writing or composing music. Performing is a talent. Britney has always had a natural charisma and “something special” about her, that’s why she was always #1 in the Britney/Christina/Jessica trifecta of pop princesses. That’s why the public has been fascinated with her for 13 years and why people still root for her now.

  45. Jayna says:

For the people on here that are dismissing she has any talent anymore, live I agree, but Britney diehards love her and get something from her tours still. So be it. But there was a big article in a newspaper regarding Britney’s new album. They gave it high marks, as they should. It’s great. And discussed how she surrounds herself with great people who know how to use her and she puts signature vocals on it that are unique to Britney and that, hate her or love her, she puts out consistently good pop albums, and that this one is one of her best.

They hit the nail on the head. However she did it, it’s a really good club music album that sounds different from the other popstars’ music.

  46. Jayna says:

@Jover, why can’t people love Aretha (soul), Pat Benatar (rock, not pop), and still love pop and/or club music? I listen to everything from classical, soul, R&B, rock, alternative rock, electronica rock, to pop/club music. I grew up in the clubs and will always love club music. This album is great for people like me who love that kind of music and makes me no less of a music lover because I love me some club music still. It’s shallow, fun music, with great beats.

Re not writing music, as one pop songwriter just said, she respects Britney above all, because Britney never tries to claim she is a co-songwriter; whereas many, Beyonce, etc., get false songwriting credits on songs. That it goes on all the time. yet, Britney never tries to pull that crap.

Aretha doesn’t write music, nor Celine, nor Whitney. I don’t get why people want to see Britney live, except I think they remember her from their teens and are still hoping to see that engaging dancer they once knew and root for her, but I do see why her music still sells. It’s catchy pop.

  47. Hakura says:

@Anonandonandon – I’ll definitely give you that the reality show was a complete trainwreck. And she was in a downward spiral for more than a year before it became obvious in her behavior in public, for sure. (I do really believe she has a legit mental illness that made the already high pressure lifestyle of a celebrity even more difficult.)

I guess it’s all in how you see her. If you never thought she was any good to begin with, then it makes sense that seeing her struggling to pick back up after a meltdown doesn’t impress you. Dingles is right, in that she does have charisma that makes people want to see her perform & suceed. More than her music, at this point, it’s an affection I have for her, because she reminds me so much of my teenage years. She was the main popstar of that time, so of course was someone I knew all about, and wanted to be like. (Much though I denied it at the time.)

You’re right that her career is fair game. And no, she’s nowhere near the ability (singing OR dancing) of her prime. But after everything, I just can’t be so hard on her. I don’t feel your post to be accurate, but that’s me. =) Admittedly, I’m cutting her some slack, but it’s worth it to me just to see her at something close to ‘healthy’ looking, at this point.

  48. ordinarygirl86 says:

MUCH BETTER and I love the song!

I too would be interested to hear Kesha’s version & video (i love how fun she seems, she doesn’t take herself too seriously)

  49. ordinarygirl86 says:

ITA with the person who said Britney is the Anti-Lindsay! She was ‘broken’ for awhile but slowly over time she picked up the pieces one by one and got it together! She will never be the same but she isn’t addicted to crack, clipping babies, jumping over rehab facility walls, etc

  50. Emily says:

I love this video! It’s a lot more like her older videos in terms of energy and feel. And her weave looks marginally better here, too. More like the greasy mess it was when she did that song with Madonna, and less like the shit she stuck on with freakin’ rivets. Go Brit!

  51. cutesygoose says:

@ Anonandonandon — You tell it! I think you’re the only person I’ve seen who hates Britney and all the tone-deaf people who think anything she has ever done can in the slightest way qualify as “music” or “entertainment” more than I do. I like singers who can actually *sing*, write, perform, etc. I don’t know what they think Britney is doing but it sure isn’t singing and she is such an embarrassment and an outrage to anyone with real vocal talent who struggles to be heard. Never before has someone with such a blatant lack of talent in her field been so successful.

  52. ZZ says:

Why is Britney famous? She can’t sing. She can’t write. She has zero creative input in any of her work. It’s all her production team. She’s barely even a musician and she’s definitely not a vocalist. So I guess if someone with no vocal range hires some people to produce great beats and write generic lyrics, and then takes dancing lessons, they can become as big as Britney? It’s really upsetting where the music industry is heading. You know there’s something wrong when the biggest names in music don’t even write their own music.

And this isn’t even entertaining! I’m so sick of hearing songs about partying and sex! SO! SICK! I wish a mainstream musician would just dare to do something different for once. And by ‘different’, I don’t mean crazy outfits because that has nothing to do with their music.

I agree with Anonandonan and whitedaisy. I wish her record label people would just take her away!

  53. Hakura says:

@CutesyGoose“You tell it! I think you’re the only person I’ve seen who hates Britney and all the tone-deaf people who think anything she has ever done can in the slightest way qualify as “music” or “entertainment” more than I do.”

You’re free to have whatever opinion of Britney that you want… but you don’t have to be rude about the people here who like her. I didn’t take any shots at Anonandonandon just because I disagreed with them. I wouldn’t ordinarily say anything positive about myself, but far from being tone-deaf, I have perfect pitch. Plenty of artists don’t write their own music. (I wish Taylor Swift wouldn’t.)

Britney’s songs have always been a ‘guilty pleasure’ sort of thing… something fun & mindless that has a good beat. Many of us enjoy her because we were teenagers who liked bubblegum pop music back then. I’ve always enjoyed all kinds of music. Eric Clapton & The Eagles were in my case next to Aretha Franklin & Britney. You shouldn’t make blanket judgemental statements.

  54. Truth says:

    @ Anonandonandon & CutesyGoose,

Totally agree with everything you said!!!

I am so tired of the Britney “PITY PARTY”

I would like to know what her mental illness is?? Her camp and so on has never come out to say she even has one. I do believe that it was her drugging and drinking and her total pigishness that was the reason she lost her kids ( Judge said it ) I also think that is why she surrendered to a conservatorship to be able to even see her kids and keep her money from flowing out the window.

@Hakura, Sorry the truth hurts, and it’s not that she doesn’t even co-write her songs, it’s the fact that she can also not sing or dance and for me & many others her true colors came out way before this so called melt down.

She dated Kevin knowing full well that his girlfriend was very pregnant and also flaunted it to the paparazzi. That is where it started and girlfriend just kept showing us what a pig she really is. It has all been documented by the media and paparazzi.

There are hundreds of reasons why people do not like or RESPECT Britney and just because she gives you warm fuzzies of your childhood does not mean everyone else should give her a pass.

  55. Hakura says:

@Truth“She dated Kevin knowing full well that his girlfriend was very pregnant and also flaunted it to the paparazzi.”

I didn’t say that she was a saint. God knows most celebrities aren’t, but people still put up with their bullshit. I didn’t agree with what she did, no, it was wrong. But I don’t think it makes her evil. And ask those of us here who know the signs of mental illness. I never expected her to publicly share her diagnoses.

“There are hundreds of reasons why people do not like or RESPECT Britney and just because she gives you warm fuzzies of your childhood does not mean everyone else should give her a pass.”

Wow, bitch much? I could care less what your opinion of Britney is. You have a right to your opinion just as we have a right to ours… But it’s ridiculous & childish when you have to personally insult someone just because they don’t agree with you. We’re adults here (at least *I* am), but I guess expecting mutual respect/maturity would be giving you too much credit.

  56. Truth says:

    @Hakura,

Oh, you know the signs of mental illness? Your a Dr. now huh? So you must know Brit very well indeed to be able to spot her mental illness.

Well why wouldn’t you expect her to publicly share her mental illness? If indeed she does have one, she is certainly in the position to help and bring attention to such disease and help all her fans who happen to share it. Now for that I would respect her for.

Wow, bitch much? I could care less what your opinion of Britney is. No where did I personally insult you, you however did just personally try to insult me by calling me childish and attacking my maturity which makes you a hypocrite.

Your comments prove to me that you are way to sensitive to carry on a reasonable conversation with, so what does that say about your maturity??

Sweety, do you know what gossip site your on??? Here, let me help you it’s called Celebitchy and yes I do bitch much!

If you can’t handle the heat/truth then stay out of the bitchen kitchen!

    Kisses :))
