I was genuinely surprised that so many of you whole-heartedly approved of Renee Zellweger’s return to the red carpet after her split from Bradley Cooper. We had the photos of Renee modeling a Tommy Hilfiger purse (for charity) in Milan yesterday, and these are photos from the evening Hilfiger event, also yesterday. Once again, I’m assuming the dress is Hilfiger just because… why would Renee wear Carolina Herrera to a Tommy Hilfiger event? Still, it looks kind of Herrera-esque, right? Oh, well. I can’t find who did the dress for sure.
I do really like it, though. I like the whole look – the makeup improved (her foundation was too dark when she wore the red coat), and the green totally pops. Her face doesn’t look jacked and she’s not making a lemon face. Even her body looks good – healthy.
Is Renee healthy, though? I dislike the tabloid stories pushing Renee as some kind of victim post-split from Bradley Cooper, just because Renee seems to be going out of her way to NOT act like a victim. Unfortunately, the British tabloids have their claws into a depressing story about the split – and I really hope it’s not true. According to Now Magazine (yeah, not reliable), Renee is humiliated because she really did think she and Bradley would end up getting married, and she had already bought the Carolina Herrera wedding gown. The source claims that Renee bought the dress and Bradley kept pushing back the wedding date because his father was ill, and then after his dad died, Renee was all, “So we can get married now?” And Bradley was all, “Um, NO.” Apparently, Renee has been telling friends that she’s been “stabbed in the heart.” Whatever… I think Renee might have wanted to marry Bradley, but as I said, I like the way she’s been putting herself out there post-split.

awww…i like zellweger, but her muscles are super masculine-muscle-y, especially in the shoulders. she should do some ballet to lengthen them out. her clavicles should not be visible above her neckline. weird.

The dress is a bit short, but overall she looks good in it. She’s very thin and could gain 10 pounds or so (her face would look so much better) but she’s not looking awful.

The length of this dress looks awkward somehow and, while “toned” is always the aim, Renee’s body seems too “hard” and it’s clashing with the femininity of the dress.

I think the dress is super-cute on her, mostly because it hides how thin she is. Looking at her legs is still a little scary though. She’d have great pins if she’d only eat a cheeseburger occasionally.

Well I like the dress – Renee – not so much. She needs to do something with the hair and dont people wear stocking with high heels any more? Her legs look awful and she is too white to have that much skin exposed – she looks like a ghost dressed in a green dress.

Too much skin for a women of her (ahem) age. (mine also.) She can carry it off, and her pale skin is lovely (not orange tan) but a knee length looks better on mature women.

Not a fan of the dress – is this a Jessica McClintock prom special? Dark green is not a good colour for spring and the red Louboutin soles with it make me think of Christmas. It rides too low on her chest and makes her shoulders look very broad and masculine.

for one – her body does not look healthy. for two – from what I remember Bradley’s father just died. you don’t say ‘can we get married now?’ right after smb’s father dies. not to say Renee is crazy insensitive but to say the story is a sham.

That green dress do wonders for her, and her perfect skin looks even more perfect, if it’s possible. Her body rocks, althought it’s too muscular is still feminine.

Love the dress, but not on her. Her skin’s too pale, and the shoes kill the look. I always suspected she had bulimia because of the big cheeks and squinty eyes. She just doesn’t look healthy.

Aside from the fact that I abhor the color green, the dress is cute. But not on her. She needs a LOT more fabric. As someone commented above, a woman of her age (like me) looks better with a longer hemline. No one wants to look at all those angles and sharp edges – cover up! She even looks uncomfortable like she’s feeling overexposed. This poor girl has needed a stylist for years. Evidently she’s still in need.

She’s not too thin, but I’ve always thought she looked her best with a little more weight on her. She looks softer. Like after she took off almost all of the weight from the sequel to Bridget Jones’ diary, but had a little more than now, and was on the Oscars in a Caroline Herrera dress. She looked fantastic and sexy.
But this dress is great. Love the color.

I feel so bad for her. My theory abuot Renee is that she gained weight for the first Bridget Jones movie, and looked amazing! Then went crazy skinny for Chicago and something in her mind clicked that that is how her body should look. It really upsets me to see her now, she was so cute before and during the first Bridget Jones that it is so sad to see her so obsessed with weight and excercise.
Now the second Bridget Jones movie probably didn’t help as they styled her to look ridiculous, so it probably reinforced the image in her mind that a little extra meat was a bad thing.
Oh Renee, if only you could go to the softer Jerry Maguire, or Empire records look you would look so much better. Its not always about the number on the scale, muscle weighs more than fat, so she probably weighs more now than she did then, but it is just so sad looking.
Call me up Renee, i can teach you to eat normally again!

@ Sam its so funny you mentioned how good she looked during Bridget Jones. My Fiance HATES Renee, just one of those actresses he doesn’t like and every time i am watching one of her movies he make me turn the channel, but the other day he mentioned that the only time he though she looked cute was during Bridget Jones (HA). If i remember my gossip correctly she did do a bunch on interviews about how the weight gaining affected her and i recall she blamed her weight gain for the second film for demise for her relationship with Jack White. Which i mean that probably did her a favor why would you want to stay with a guys that doesn’t like you with a few extra pounds.

I like the dress and she always does well with things fitting just right. For me with the dark shoes, I would love to have seem some sort of tights/hose. I think fishnet would have rocked here and added a hipness factor.

I remember her being on Conan O’Brien when she was promoting Bridget #1 and he said she looked amazing with the extra weight. (Just another reason to love Conan!)

I really like her old movies, but I saw her in a movie on tv this weekend – i think it was called New in town – i couldn’t make it all the way through the movie, she just looked so hard.

The dress is gorgeous and for Renee, she looks fabulous. I’m not hating, I like the girl but while I don’t think you can’t be too rich you can be too thin or too toned. I’m not really sure if she’s too thin, she doesn’t make me want to force feed her like that VS model, but she’s too sinewy and she’s going to turn into Madonna.
But unlike Madonna she is dressing for it with the nipped waist and the fuller skirts. This girl needs to break up more often. She look like a woman who finally found herself. I’m hoping this will lead to curing her addiction with exercise and I can stop saying “she looks fabulous *for Renee*” and just say “she looks fabulous.”
PS: I’m still shocked people want her to wear pantyhose. I’m not sure where she lives but in LA we haven’t worn pantyhose since the Clinton administration.

I do think she wanted to marry Bradley. I do think she was in love with him. However, I don’t think she is pathetic enough to buy a dress before she has a wedding date. I think she realized that Bradley isn’t going to marry anyone anytime soon and that it’s not personal. This is why she isn’t pulling an Aniston. You can go out there but you can’t fake that glow.
Hello? If *I* were Bradley, 35, hot and suddenly rich and famous and (finally) respected. I would be 100% career and dating every gorgeous woman (or man in my case) I could. This is his time. There will be another “it” boy nipping at his heels very soon.
If Bradley wanted to marry her he would have wanted his dad to see him get married not wait for him to die.

Ugh… Athletic is one thing, but her clavicles are showing so badly that it looks like she’s growing horns out of her shoulders… =( I don’t know how anyone here could think she’s look good.
As a member of the pale community, I don’t have a problem with that aspect, but she really did need stockings. Unfortunately the more fair you are, the more ‘sickly’ you look when you’re too thin. She could do with another 15lbs. I can’t even *focus* on the dress, her body is so distracting. The color is pretty, but … Ugh.

Renee looks really good in the dress, nice color and no it’s not too short for someone “her age” at least she has the legs for it. I think she’s a really athletic person who enjoys running and exercising and it shows, nothing wrong with that.

I for one LOVE the pale, I’m so very sick of the fake tans. Embrace your natural skin tone people! That said, I feel she is a bit too thin. As someone mentioned above, a few more pounds would ‘soften’ her. I like the green, it’s beautiful on her skin.

I don’t think she looks skinny at all. It looks like she is super toned without being a body builder. Her body reminds me of a dancer’s body.
The dress looks good on her. The hair is trowing it off. She has pale skin (I don’t rag women that don’t want to bake in the sun) So I think for me it is the hair.

As mentioned above, as a member of the pale community (that has had to search far & wide to find a foundation light enough, via Sephora), there’s absolutely *nothing* wrong with being fair. I just think it’s the combination of being especially fair *&* very skinny that doesn’t look good. (Too easy to look like you’re sickly).
I’m also not implying that there’s anything wrong wth being a woman with an athletic/lean body type. But when women are under weight *&* work out too much, it ends up looking like this, nothing there as ‘padding’, just muscle right up under the surface. It’s not healthy looking, & definitely not very feminine.
And no one should have little ‘horns’ growing out of their shoulders because their clavicle is so exposed… It looks creepy.
