These are some new photos of Jennifer Love Hewitt out shopping yesterday in LA. As you can see, Love has finally forgone even the pretense of wearing something that would show off part of her body – like that hideous sleeve-button Sister Wife dress, or that recent, unflattering tent dress. She’s now just throwing on a muumuu and calling it a day. Take that, haters!
I mean, I get it. She’s gained some weight. It’s not the end of the world, nor is it some kind of situation where Love is deserving of mockery… for her weight. I couldn’t care less about her weight. But I do care that no matter what her weight, Love rarely knows how to properly clothe her pear. This muumuu – in the guise of a long, oversized, long-sleeved sweater-dress – says to me that Love is at the point where she’s over trying to make the pear look cute. It says, “I’ve given up, bitches.”
By the way, regarding Love’s weight gain – last week’s Star Magazine had a bitchy story about it, called “More to Love!” There are references to how Love is “losing the Battle of the Bulge” and how she’s likely gained 20 pounds in less than two months. They even got a doctor to talk about how much weight she’s gained! Ugh. That makes me want to defend her.

i wonder if she’s on medication or had an ED. she & christina aguilera have both gained a TON of weight in the last few years. that doesn’t happen unless something’s going on…
on the flip side: lucky bitch, none of it goes to her face. She keeps her nice cheeks and jaw and doesn’t end up looking like a chipmunk.
so I say: muumuu it up. she hasn’t resorted to wearing Uggs, she still tosses on some heels and accessorizes, so more power to her tent-wearing, pear-shaped self.

Poor thing. I’ve struggled with my weight for 30 years and it really sucks. I cannot imagine being in the public eye with this and having a magazine and “doctors’ discuss my weight gain. How humiliating. Between this and her “romance” addiction (one boyfriend to the next) and so much tmi from her-she really could use some counseling. And a stylist-because that “outfit” (where do you even buy something like that-Burkas R Us?) is heinous. You can still look cute and be a size 10 and beyond.
I feel bad for her, she doesnt have much going on upstairs but she’s harmless.
I’m not hating this look on her. Let’s give her a break.

Sorry, I kinda dig this dress. Taken out of the context of the recent fashion problems, this one is OK with me. Then again, I am 5 months pregnant and mostly thinking of how much *I* would love to have it. And I would.
I empathize with her, but if engages in discussion about her weight, then the tabloids are going to pounce on it for a long time.
She seems to be trying to lay low and go about her life. So, points for her. I hope she will not engage in any discussion on this topic. That will just fuel the fire.

J Love Hew: You are adorable and sexy. Make friends with A-line skirts and dresses that hit just below the knee and also slimming black pants/jeans with hip lenth tunic blouses…and keep rocking your fabulous shoes.
If it is that cool there, she could have worn a just below the knee A-line dress with tights and boots. That would been more flattering on her with her pear shaped figure.
I don’t think people would care so much if she didn’t go running to the tabs when she loses 20lbs (it only seems like 5 minutes ago she was in a bikini pic after losing a few)!!!

I have learned to never talk about my weight because I go up and down the scale by ten pounds. Folks like Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jennifer Hudson really set themselves up for scrutiny when they lose weight and broadcast their success and then later gain weight.
She needs to chill out. Accept herself at any weight and move forward from there. She needs to wear clothes that flatter her shape. I think she’s got a cute figure.
The dress makes her look bigger then what she is; Jennifer baggy loose shapeless clothing make you look bigger not smaller. A girl who wears a size 2 couldn’t wear that without looking bad there is no defined waist line and is too long, the scarf helped a little to break up that the gray but couldn’t save it. Someone should tell her that she can rock a cute put together style no matter what size she is.
OK, I’m going to be snarky here, but not about J.Love’s figure (which is fine at any weight- frankly, I’d love to be her current size).
But…she has used her weight to garner attention and press that she otherwise wouldn’t have been getting. Let’s face it, she wouldn’t have gotten the cover of a tabloid unless she was posing in a bikini talking about her weight loss.
She made her body a talking point, and now people are still talking even though the body has changed.
Jessica Simpson has dealt with a lot of body comments since she’s gained weight- I wonder if the commentary about her weight would be the same if she hadn’t done the “Daisy Duke” car washing video in a bikini that put her “new” body at the forefront of marketing Jessica Simpson.

Uh, I said HAD. reading is fundamental. and it’s NOT normal for someone to go from a size 0/2 to…whatever she is (10/12?) in less than 10 years (unless there’s a medical issue, eating disorder, pregnancy, etc). she’s only 31…

I think she still looks lovely. If she was just a friend, or a colleague (rather than a celebrity), we wouldn’t bat an eye at her weight gain.
I do think it’s sad that she feel so insecure about her weight (due to media attention etc) that she feels like covering up to this extent.

I think she looks great. My metabolism seemed to stop the second I turned 35 and I have gained about 20lbs in a year. It sucks. I can’t imagine being scrutinized the way these celebrities are. I know they put themselves out there but not for this. Either they are too skinny in the eyes of the media and therefore must have an eating disorder or be on drugs. And then when those same people gain 5 lbs its like the tabloids are on baby bump watch. I am surprised no one has started pregnancy rumors for her.
I would defend her, but she pissed me off when they photographed her in that swimsuit and she came out and said women should love their body no matter what they have, well come to find out she couldn’t handle the critism and dropped the weight. Now I am glad she ballooned back up, take that you hypocritical bitch.

@marie, oh i didn’t realize that she lost the weight after gaining it & then gained it back. in that case, she probably had an ED. unsurprising since she started in hollywood so young. sad, though.

JLH was always cast as the hot chick when she was skinny…and now that she’s not, she doesn’t get those roles anymore. coincidence? i think not.

i think she looks great but then again i don’t get the appeal of skinny women. i’m old fashion.=) i believe in a world where beautiful women have meat on their bones and have a waist and hips and are proud of it.;) but that’s just me. of course there are women that just don’t gain wight no mmatter what and that’s fine with me but it’s sad when someone looks normal and healthy and everybody points out that they gain weight.

If she just worked out regularly instead of going on a crash diet whenever she gets bad press only to gain it all back, she could be hot again. she needs to work for it now because she’s not 20 anymore, but she’s too lazy.

i say this as someone who has struggled with anorexia / bulimia / binge eating. at one point, i actually did gain 20 lbs in less than 1 month. when you are on a binger, the pounds pack on really quickly.
for me though, this says for both Love and Aguilera that their emotions are a mess. like mine were (are) when i have my ED flare ups.
I dunno. Maybe Summer is almost upon us. Undies can get damp. Maybe it was just a good day to go commando and let her balls swing in the breeze. I don’t expect her nads to do much swinging with those thunder thighs though.
@zoya & anon73, exactly! people on here can be really touchy/weird about weight… i wasn’t saying it in a mean spirited way (same thing w/the demi lovato post the other day), but just that huge weight loss/gain in such a short amount of time points to a deeper issue.

Is the dress made out of t-shirt fabric? Because I had some pj pants like that and they were all heavy and drapey, which was nice, but then I found that they were so heavy that their crotch started weighing itself down and sagged down towards my knees! Then I was walking like a cowboy. It had nothing to do with my own crotchal area, I hasten to add! 😀
