These are photos of last night’s Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Last Night. It’s a romance-drama starring Eva Mendes, Guillaume Canet, Keira Knightley and Sam Worthington, and it actually looks like a pretty decent movie. Unfortunately, nobody but Eva came out to promote the damn thing. I understand the lack of motivation to do promotional duties on a film that you know is a train wreck, but most are saying Last Night is decent-to-good, and that everybody should be proud of their performances. So why is it only Eva Mendes waltzing around the red carpet, drunk and/or stoned off her ass, dressed in what I’m assuming is some kind of homage to a Tennessee Williams character?
In reality, the dress is Gucci. And in theory, Eva should be able to pull it off. She has a lovely skin tone, and historically, red works on her. But there’s something about this orange-red, combined with the matchy-matchy lipstick, combined with her face (which genuinely looks stoned)… it’s all a hot mess.
But why won’t anyone else promote this movie? It looks decent. Here’s the trailer:

Seen the movie and didn’t like it that much, really. I thought it did make a few interesting (although not very groundbreaking) points about relationships, but both Eva Mendes & Sam Worthington bothered me a lot. I just think they’re both not very good actors, especially Sam. His “acting” is just mostly cringeworthy.

I saw the movie and thought it was really really good. Very moving in some parts. All the actors were great with the exception of Sam Worthington, but that’s usually the case.

This dress is nice in a ‘Little House on the Prairie’ kind of way, but I HATE orange-red. I remeber when I was a kid, maybe 3 yo, I had a little dress of the same colour and I threw horrible and unusual tantrums every time my mother tried to make me wear it.
Anyway that’s a shade that looks good only on very few people (maybe Dita Von Teese), and Eva Mendes is not one of those few. And she should’ve combed her hair.

She usually dresses well, but this…..reminds me of the Lawrence Welk show women, which my Grandma made me watch. It’s so retro, but NOT in a cute way at all. (She looks like Anita Bryant, the anti=gay orange juice beauty queen of the 60s…..again, not a good thing.)

Saw the movie – it’s “ok” but too pretentious in trying to act like it’s saying something so meaningful about relationships when the storyline has been done before – many times. Eva Mendes is not a good actress.

Eva looks really witchy in these pics. I never found her particularly pretty to begin with, and always wandered when her ‘sex appeal’ was gonna start waning. Seems like it finally has.
The trailer for this movie seems quite good though. I love all Keira Knightley movies! Shes super-gorgeous and talented, and seems to save anything shes cast in
