This story originated as a vague blurb in Star Magazine, so take it for the pure speculation that it likely is, but Katie Holmes is said to be starting her own denim line. Katie has long been rumored to be considering her own fashion line, especially after she was spotted out with some drawings last year right before a meeting. Nothing came of that, and now that she’s been reviving the questionable trend of rolled peg-leg jeans, Star reports that she’s set to compete with her maybe-ex friend, Victoria Beckham, and put out her own line of jeans:
Katie Holmes’ funky NYC wardrobe may look like one giant faux pas. But it’s actually a stroke of fashion jean-ious! According to a pal, Katie is stirring up buzz for her own line of designer denim. The insider explains, “She’s designed four prototypes and hopes to debut her collection at Neiman Marcus.” Already in stock at stores nationwide - DVB Denim by Victoria Beckham. Looks like the former friends will be duking it out at the register!

It doesn’t really matter how ridiculous a celebrity looks, if the person is famous enough there’s always someone willing to blindly follow their trend-setting. Star reminds us the Project Runway’s fashion guru Tim Gunn expressed confusion at Katie’s recent baggy style. He said “she’s in a [fashion] dip right now. I don’t get it.” Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, and Rachel Bilson are among the other stars seen wearing baggy rolled up jeans, but I don’t think any of them took the look as far as Holmes. For a while there looked like she was doing the walk of shame in her bigger non-existent boyfriend’s clothes every day. She’s changed it up though recently, so maybe Star is on to something and she’s planning some kind of denim line.
I’m not really buying this story, but if it’s true there are surely people who would shell out good money for some jeans with Katie’s name slapped on to them. She shouldn’t set the price point too high, though. People are only willing to pay so much to look like they were forced to wear their big brother’s clothes.

I think she’s going for Jackie O classic and she just comes off frumpy. Until you add the peg leg jeans, then she comes off crazy.
I have to admit I’ve been on the look out for boyfriend jeans with a womanly cut because I do think they would work for me. But NOT because of Katie Holmes, J Crew has sold boyfriend jeans for ages.

Aw, she’s not ugly, just downtrodden which, sadly, is a killer of creativity. I can’t imagine who these people might be who would buy Katie Holmes brand jeans.

The picture of Suri cheesin was really cute, I think that is the first photo I have seen of her that happy, adorable.
As far as her clothes, no way. having money does not equal having taste. Sorry Katy.
