Wow, you guys are all immature simply because of a procedure. It can go either way. Whether it be cosmetic or health related, it doesn’t really matter because she’s an adult who makes decisions for herself. She looks like she feels better so let it be. If you want to complain about her because of something else idiotic, then go ahead, but complaining about what she wants to do with her body for the better is completely unnecessary.
To those who completely shun the idea of orthoganic surgery, her new look actually makes sense. The jaw is an essential part of the phase and having surgery to fix it changes the rest of the features as well such as the eyes and the cheeks. It brings a more balanced look.
That’s why healthy teeth/jaws and good mouth habits are important in the development of the face.
Surgery isn’t easy work either. Patients lose A LOT of weight after surgery due to liquid diet from keeping the mouth shut for a month or so.
I see no difference in the nose at all.

While I realize that the ‘deviated septum’ thing *is* often used as an excuse for some, there are a few cases where I believe that to be true. I personally have that problem (along with a ‘spur’ on the bridge of my nose, as a result of breaking my nose as a kid). It really is miserable most of the time, trouble sleeping, always feel ‘stuffed up’.

I know when I have surgery to correct it, it’s really going to change the shape. (Removing the ‘spur’ will remove the hump on my bridge.) I’m not saying that Bristol isn’t BS-ing, I’m just saying that not everyone who claims to have a medical reason for a costmetic change is lying.

It’s funny how she throws out a red herring and subsequently several people chime in with how, they too, had corrective surgery. The poster up thread was spot on with it being the equivalent of having obvious cosmetic rhinoplasty and passing it off as having been achieved solely through correction of a deviated septum.

C’mon, people. She’s obviously thinks that we’re stupid (and blind). Don’t allow yourselves to be so easily duped. She’s a celebrity who f’ed with her face and is now lying about how and why it was achieved.

It’s so common in Hollywood, it’s a like a rite of passage.

It’s very possible that the pressure to have this work done came from the network/producers of her upcoming reality show, or her own Agent. I could totally see them making her think she *needed* the surgery, playing off her prexisting insecurities & comparing her to other reality stars like the Kardashians. I don’t think she’s stupid… Everyone has insecurities about some aspect of their appearence. If someone targetted that, & tore you down… Then suggested surgery that would ‘fix’ you… It’s not hard to see why someone would consider it.

I’m not sure if it really is a mouth-issue that caused her to have surgery, but I totally support this statement. I was unfortunate to have a condition that caused me to have *very* little enamel on my teeth. By 15, they started to all fall apart entirely. I’ve had several major dental surgeries done, & It’s the most excruciating pain, but there’s no way to avoid needing to have the procedures done, so you just have to deal with it.

It’s horrible that this is true. I just understand it. It seems like the positive opinion/support of the ‘family’ is transferred to how people react about the teen pregnancy. (Which makes sense in regards to Bristol, & other young girls from political families who end up as teen mothers.

It’s always lovely to see a lot of people thinking/assuming/pretending to know how she “didn’t need” jaw surgery for medical reasons. Is any of you her doctor?

Aside from that, I think she looks worse now, but I’m happy for her and I hope this will solve her troubles.

On a side note: I’ve had work done on my teeth because of an *illness*, and let me tell you… it’s painful, it takes guts, and it’s NO “easy way out”. So stop hating on her.

I don’t care about the surgery. My problem is and continues to be that if she were Keisha from the projects-ghetto, Tiffany from the trailer park, or Maria from the barrio, people would call her out and defame her character as an unwed, teenage, high-school dropout mother. She would be treated with scorn–almost spat upon. Yet this one, because her mother got lucky, is being peddled around for profit and it’s OK. How unfair and hypcritical!!! If I were an unwed, dropout teenage mom I’d be fuming. (Well, I am now anyway. . . but still).

If you can get a doctor/dentist/specialist to say you need the procedure for medical reasons, then it can be covered by your private health fund.

I feel sorry for anyone in Hollywood. Your damned if you do, and damned if you don’t.

Here is me giving Bristol Palin the benefit of the doubt:

Doctors want lots of money and convince people of the necessity of useless procedures. Clearly, she didn’t NEED surgery. I think most people can come to that conclusion with their own common logic. So, I guess, she is either stupid or lying.

Also, whoever said she looks like Toni Braxton is SPOT ON.
