Last night was something or other to do with the “Drama Desk”. Awards? Like, they were handing out awards? Sure. Probably. Several celebrities who are not currently on the NY stage showed up. Like Katie Holmes! You know what? I’ve always thought that if Kate Middleton looked like any American celebrity, it was Lauren Conrad, but now I’m revising that. Waity looks like Katie Holmes and Lauren Conrad’s love child. Anyway, Katie was at the Drama Desk Awards, wearing this dress of her own design – it’s “Holmes & Yang”. I actually have something nice to say about this dress: the color is really pretty on her. And the dress isn’t flat-out horrible and cheap-looking. Sure, it’s unflattering the fit is off and it makes her look thick-waisted and/or pregnant, but overall, we’ve seen Katie look so much worse. Plus, her hair and makeup is pretty good here too.
Daniel Radcliffe was at the Drama Desk event too. He’s actually in a Broadway show (How To Success in Business), and you know, he’s cute as a button. I would eat him up.
I’m sorry, but this photo of a ‘stached Lee Pace, goofy Jim Parsons and a jacked Ellen Barkin is making my day. How funny is this? Lee Pace is really making love to the camera, isn’t he?

That gown is beyond fug. It is hideous in almost every way possible. If that’s any indication of what the rest of the line looks like then good luck with that, Katie.

Lauren Conrad is a lot prettier than Kate Middleton, but I can kind of see where you’re coming from with that comparison.

The jewel color could be okay, the top looks like and ill fitting blouse that a SNL actor would wear to portray a messy corporate woman and the bottom look like a bad drapery accident!

I think it’s diabolical. I really think she has not got an iota of fashion sense. All the stylists and money in the world can’t fix her innate lack of style. We all know women like her – they just can’t really ever get it right because they just don’t understand what works, fundamentally.
To me she is a walking example of what not to wear, ever.

Katie Holmes just reminds me of that episode of The Simpsons in which Bart sells his soul to Milhouse. That said, if they nipped in the waist of the dress a little this would actually be a great look for her because the colour and cap sleeves are fab.

I agree the color on her is nice and only Katie could design an ugly ass dress like that; I mean WOW she had no fashion sense what so ever and her clothing line is just laughable.

here’s the thing. with a color like that, I think a simple style is better. and if you’re going with an elaborate design, go with a more neutral color.

Katie’s dress is wrecked. It looks like the mess I tried to sew in home ec class in grade 8. The color is OK though.
Good GOD! That is bad. Bad bad bad. You can’t drape yourself in head to toe fuchsia. The dress needs to be tighter and shorter…or the pink blouse and then a gray or black short skirt. This chick has NO style whatsoever.
Horrendous dress..doesn’t fit, the big bow (whatever made her think that was attractive) and I can’t figure out why the waist is all wonky, but the color is beautiful.

Between the droopy top, the wide band in the middle, and the pleating immediately below, it makes her look really thick around the middle. Not figure flattering at all.

OMG. I laughed out loud as the full horror of that fashion joke came into view as I scrolled down the page. We have a winner for most fug outfit EVER. Really, there is not one nice thing you could say about it. I’m still laughing. Poor, poor woman. She’s beyond hopeless.

I see dresses like that in the thrift shop all the time. Holmes is adorable but Suri needs to dress mommy better than that.

Wow the dress fits her horribly. The waist is sagging and so is the belt. This looks awful and could be so cute if they just had cut it right and tailored it to suit her. cut it just below the knee, darken the skirt color, lighten the blouse, and then cinch it at the waist. That would improve this disaster of a dress. Adn her hair looks awful. She needs to pull it back into a low pony tail with this dress.

Hanh@ Your talking about making a whole new dress, nothing can help that disaster of a dress that she wearing but starting over from the beginning maybe you should be the one with a clothing line I’m sure you can do a better job at it then Katie.

The fit is a little off, but the colour is beautiful and the way it drapes is quite lovely. Otherwise, I think she is actually looking the best she has in a long, long time lately. She looks genuinely very beautiful, and it’s been a while since I’ve last thought that of her (not to say she’s been looking ‘ugly’ or anything, but I just don’t think she’s looked as gorgeous as she has been for this past month or so, probably back since before she married Tom)
I know little about fashion but I know that dress is ill-fitting and ugly. Did anyone catch her yesterday on the Oprah show? Her legs are like tree trunks.

The colour and fabric is gorgeous, but the dress is not put together right. Some people can pull of the ill-fitted/vintage look, she can’t.

Never, in a million years would I have guessed that is Ellen Barkin. Her face. It’s awful. I beat she can’t look in a mirror without crying. Why would she do that to herself?
If it had actually fitted her properly up top instead of baggy with a crooked waist this could have been a gorgeous vintage inspired dress. As it is she looks frumpity frump frump. Oh, Katie. I do love the color on her though.
