Angelina Jolie releases a PSA for 2011 World Refugee Day

wenn2991723

I’m a bad Brangeloonie, because I completely forgot that World Refugee Day was coming up. It’s June 20th, every year. And every year since she became a goodwill ambassador for the UNHCR (the United Nations High Commission on Refugees) in 2001, Angelina Jolie has done some sort of activity or event to note World Refugee Day. The past few years, she’s been filming PSAs (in addition to doing press and attending events) – you can see 2009’s Jolie PSA here. And if you go here, you can see her 2010 PSA for Pakistani Relief. Anyway, here’s her 2011 World Refugee Day PSA:

Not bad. CB usually refuses to watch them because they make her cry, but I convinced her that she needed to see Angelina’s styling for this one, which is much improved. Some of these PSAs, it’s like Jolie is being recorded in someone’s dank basement. They actually prettied her up for this one.

As for the content“Every day, thousands of people run from war, persecution and terror… Even one is too many. One family forced to flee is too many, one child growing up in a camp is too many, one refugee without hope is too many.” It’s noble, and the repetition of “one” is because this is for a new UNHCR initiative for the One campaign.

Here is the main donation page for the UNHCR, and here is the donation page for the USA-UNHCR page.

oh sweet baby jesus. let the random bitching begin! please, I’m dying, tell me how much you disagree with her, how she is doing this for publicity, and how much you hate her (because you husband said he would totally do her…admit it, thats why you hate her).

  2. Tigger says:

*Sigh*. I love Angie, I really do. She’s not only a sexy bitch, but a humanitarian sexy bitch. So glad she’s bringing more awareness to this issue.

  3. Cut the Cheese says:

What a phony baloney. IF she really cared, she could buy them all some temporary housing, for the interim.

  4. LucyOriginal says:

I am not a Brangeloonie, but I liked the One campaign.

  5. Anonymous says:

I hate her and I don’t even have a boyfriend lool

  6. Kim123 says:

I just read on another site that AJ released this video on the same day of the Aniston story so she could look better in comparison. As if the people at the UNHCR are sitting around reading gossip sites deciding when to release this to capitalize on the other story. Franny countdown to the naysayers 3 2 1 LOL

  7. mln76 says:

It’s so inspiring that she’s kept up this work for a decade despite all the naysayers.
@ ctc I really hope you are joking if not you’ve got some serious problems….because even Angelina doesn’t have the resources to buy a house for every displaced person on the planet.

  8. kira says:

The day wouldn’t be complete if there wasn’t a Jolie post to go along with the Aniston one. It does seem like when the tabloids come up with a story for one, they search for something to say about the other. Isn’t that the way it seems to work? 😮

  9. Laughternrain says:

Cut the cheese, what are YOU doing? Nothing. Thats right, its you who is phony baloney. Get a life.

  10. You don't say says:

She has been doing this for years and years. Good on her and bless her heart. The UNHCR has other things to do besides try to make her look good. And I guess that the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans also reads blogs since they announced today that they are contributing $300,000 to Brad’s Make It Right Campaign and are sponsoring a big fundraiser next year to help with the effort. A fabulous 1-2 punch if you ask me. Good on both of them for just moving forward.

  11. teri says:

Angelina is so sweet, love her.

  12. Flounder says:

I think she’s a good person, and I like the campaign.

  13. mln76 says:

@ Kira UNHCR has held Refugee Day on June 20th for 60 years, as Kaiser said Angie’s done these videos for several years and participated in events on 6/20 for a decade. I’m pretty sure CB and Kaiser posted her video last year too.

  14. someone says:

I don’t like her, but she does some good things, whatever the reasons are behind it!

  15. KB_explosion says:

    @ cut the cheese

yes because buying them a house will solve all of their problems!

PLEASE, there is layer upon layer that needs to be addressed in order to make permanent change is these people’s lives. giving them a house doesn’t stop the persecution, it’s like putting a bandaid on a dam leak; it’s not gonna fix the problem. consciousness-raising about the situation is a way to let people know what’s wrong & the myriad of ways they can help.

but thanks for your well thought out insight on the matter!

I love how she does this every year for World Refugee day

but of course the nasty pants will be here to make some silly comment..

lol.. But I have to say how much I like her. She never lets anything or anyone stop her from doing what she feels is right

Live your life girl.. and let the world talk about it.

  18. Cut the Cheese says:

Don’t be so gullible Laughternrain….open your eyes, before it’s too late!

  19. Cut the Cheese says:

KB_explosion, getting their picture taken with Angie is YOUR idea of help? Okey dokey then. I’d rather have a tent.

  20. Diva says:

She and Brad also just donated $500,000 to the tornado victims of Joplin: http://bit.ly/mUC92h

  21. Sakyiwaa says:

WOW! There she goes…again! Doing ‘Angie’. Great job, Angie. Keep doing ‘you’. I promise I’ll donate something this year.

Shit about the timing for the release though. Although, all her PSAs do get released around the same time of the year… like a couple of days before JUNE 20th. they’re gonna spin every which way to make Jolie look bad though. Gawd!

Man, JP fans needed… we needed… to have this entire week free to bash Aniston. lol! :)! jez kidding!

  22. Rita says:

I very much think that she is sincere in these efforts. She doesn’t need the world’s goodwill and she knows people will at least pay attention to the message because she’s participating. If ever it becomes obvious that these are image stunts, I’ll verbally cut the bitch and send Jennifer Aniston my recipe for rhubarb pie…then she can have any man she wants…even Brad, but until then….Go AJ!

  23. Laughternrain says:

Cut the cheese, I suggest you take your own advice. You are the one who is gullible. You need help.

  24. Sakyiwaa says:

@CuttheCheese; is your computer in good functioning order…? has someone taped your eyelips open to make you stare at this particular post…? is that person holding a gun to your head…? is that person hitting the back of your head with the butt of their gun and forcing you to read this thread of Angelina Jolie whom you hate…?

    I didn’t think so…

Please, just go to your tent…

  25. Cut the Cheese says:

    Ouch…my eyelips hurt.

  26. carrie says:

    saint Angie!!

  27. Sakyiwaa says:

…i gotta say, this has been an awesome gossip week as far i’m concerned… and it ain’t even Wednesday yet!

  29. Liana says:

Just donated to the area of greatest need.

It must be difficult for some people to live with so much cynicism and ugliness in their hearts and souls. I’m a cynical bitch, but I save it for what really matters… like Lindsay Lohan and her never ending cries for attention.

  30. Cut the Cheese says:

    I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I wasn’t allowed to have an opinion…I thought this was America…

  31. SolitaryAngel says:

I care not a whit for the ignorant people who think AJ is just doing this for ANY other reason than that she believes in it. She has my admiration and respect.

  32. Lily says:

@CutTheCheese- Please go away, crawl under a rock somewhere. There is no need for negative comment when someone is doing a good thing for humanity. If we have more people like Angelina and less of you, this world would be a better place. Take your bitterness/ jealousy/ pettiness and park it where the sun doesn’t shine.

  33. Shay says:

How about she donate the 10 million she got from her Louis Vuitton ad? Saint Angie my arse. She has reached the point where is is becoming ridiculous now. Especially her contrived facial expressions when she is in her Mother Teresa uniform for the cameras. She is an actress remember.

Maybe her father was right about her, that she does have psychological problems. I don’t get how people, like some of the commenters above see the incongruence between her bourgeois adverts and her supposed mother teresa stance. This is a woman who pays nannies for Christ’s sake, to do her work while she flits here and there supposedly ‘caring’. How does this observation make anyone a ‘hater’ or jealous? It’s simply pointing out the incongruence.

What I do know is that there are many who say they work for the UNHCR on Sydney streets asking passersby for money (these organisations pay these charity workers an award wage each hour, because in Australia it is law to pay a minimum wage not a slave wage like America), many of the passersby struggle to pay for their basic utility bills at the present time, and yet the Jolies of this world earn 10 million bucks by being photographed by prestige photographers for luxury goods companies.

    Puhlease Angelina. GTF away.

Since when has the UN done anything that was great? They stood by while hundreds of thousands of Rwandans were slaughtered, and other similar situations. So many UN member nations don’t even pay their membership fee, so the organisation is in debt. If you all think that the money raised by the UN charities goes to all the charities, you have to be dreaming.

It’s so disgusting that the main qualification for humanitarianism these days is a Hollywood pedigree.

  34. futureperfect says:

You know, sometimes it’s hard to see the good she’s doing through the hypocrisy of her most rabid fans.

If Angelina is the saint you all think she is, your invective towards those who don’t hold your views are not doing her any credit.

  35. kasper says:

Wow, there’s nothing like a Brangelina post to bring out those with serious mental health issues. It’s worse than a full moon. I found those rushing to defend their cherished idol from attacks that hadn’t even occurred yet particularly amusing. Somewhere out there a shrink is reading this site and salivating like a personal injury lawyer at the sound of an ambulance siren.

  36. lisa says:

    @Lily:

they cant’ help it.. She is doing a PSA for an organization she has worked with for almost 11 years. And they think this has something to do with superficial gossip.

But hey you can’t talk or reason with ignorance. it only understands its own ignorant thinking.

She spoke of this in an interview and I wish I could find it. But she said something about how it didn’t bother her that people question her course in life or the changes that she made. but that was their right, and they should do the research and find out about these issues and where the money goes. if they want to help, then find an organization that you believe in and get involved.

So doubt her all you want, question all you want, then go and do something yourself.

  37. Katherine M. says:

Don’t let Cut the Coast, er, I mean, Cut the Cheese bother you guys. Reality and truth are not her strong points – not about Jolie or even the world. Throw her some whacked out right wing conspiracy theories and you’ll have her eating out of your hands.

Hey, Cut the Cheese, look over there – aren’t those flying saucers near the power lines? 😉

Back to reality. Thanks, Kaiser, for featuring this public service announcement. Every bit of illumination on their plight helps.

  38. photo jojo says:

Can I just stipulate to the court that I agree La Jolie has a sincere desire to help the refugees of the world, and she does more for the good of the world than I do.

That being said, she looks like absolute hell to me. I think her weight is almost always way too low, and I know she’s a lean person by nature. But she always looks gaunt, and drawn, and severe.

If she were a friend, sister, neighbor, I’d be asking her if she was ok, if her appetite was good, etc. I’d be concerned.

“Angelina is so sweet, love her.”

Sweet, really?Angelina has some good qualities but this is not a woman I’ve ever thought of as sweet.Even as a humanitarian I find her to be devoted to her chosen causes but not sweet. She seems determined but not sweet. She can see warm when she chooses with Brad but even then I see it as pr not really sweet. She seems a rather cool and remote type of person.Anybody else see her as sweet?
I’m not questioning your feelings Teri but just expressing mine and wondering what everyone else here thinks.
Another actress that some people think is sweet is Reese Witherspoon and I don’t see that in her either. She seems to have some great qualities but if I had to call on a sweet person to listen and advise neither a Reese or Angelina type of person comes to mind.

  40. Rena says:

cut the cheese, some info for you to digest if you can. Angelina and Brad visited Bosnia last year and found a group of very elderly people, 2 of whom are sisters pictured with Angelina during that visit, living in horrible conditions due to the effects of war. They were refugees who had nowhere else to go, they had lost essentially everything. Angelina and Brad promised to build them new housing.

Well the new housing, consisting of 14 new apartments will be ready in September. Their completion was delayed by many things, one of which was dicovering a huge unexploided bomb during the excavation of the building site.

So not temporary housing but permanent housing to enable people to live with dignity. This solution worked for these people but is not a universal solution.

Plus medical clinics in Cambodia and Ethiopia, schools for girls in Kenya and Afghanistan, USO activities for military children, and as mentioned NOLA housing are some of the many and diverse projects funded by Angelina, Brad, and their Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

You demonstrate ignorance of the conditions many refugees live in, large camps with open sewage one walks in, lack of food and water, all kinds of safety issues, war raging all around them many times in countries they have fled to. Build housing in a country the refugees cannot reside in? Your education is sorely lacking. Maybe you need to visit one like Angelina has done for 10+ years now, paying her own way.

Angelina cares and tries to help in whatever ways that she can. World Refugee Day is June 20th, she always participates. UNHCR could care less about some smug celeb and her love life, they are too busy trying to feed and clothe and house people fleeing for their lives.

Take you anger elsewhere, your anger that your idol who helps no one with her millions has shown her hollow lead feet. This is not the place for that.

Sorry for the long rant. Just so tired of anyone being castigated who are trying to do the right thing when so many are out doing the wrong thing to others.

  42. dr.bombay says:

I’m no huge Angelina Jolie fan; probably never will be. HOWEVER, I don’t believe for one second that her actions are insincere or for publicity. Truth be told, Angelina Jolie doesn’t need extra publicity. She’s been an A list actress for years and could easily coast as such without doing her humanitarian work. She’s got looks, charisma, a certain movie star quality that only few have. She’s far from perfect and doesn’t apologize or make excuses for such…cause, guess what, she’s still Angelina Jolie and can tell everyone to go f*** off and still make a big fat penny for every picture she makes. If she feels like helping a few other souls along the way…good for her. And, if people want to persecute her for being successful AND helpful simply because she doesn’t take every breath in her life to their approval or because she stole someone else’s husband (first woman in history to do that, eh)…well, take your negative energy and go do something good for the world. She is.

  43. Whatever says:

Some of these comments are so idiotic they are giving me a headache. More irrational hate. A PSA is a good thing because it draws attention to a needed cause and inspires others to support it, whether it is for this or a natural disaster, refugees from war, etc. So saying getting their picture taken with her isn’t helping, it actually DOES help spread the word.

Bashing her by saying she is doing it for publicity is ridiculous, but these comments rear their ugly heads every time she appears for the UN. She’d be just as big a star without her humanitarian work.

  44. Katherine M. says:

    41.Sakyiwaa: June 14th, 2011 at 11:39 pm …’eyelids’…

I liked “eyelips” better. It matched the cheese’s particular brand of uninformed, obsessive shriekishness.

  45. Liana says:

I don’t think she’s a saint. Not by a long shot. I think she’s a flawed human being who is trying to do some good in a crappy world. I don’t understand all the anger about how much she earns and how she earns it, though. Doing a photo campaign for a designer doesn’t mean someone can’t also be passionate about a cause. And one person cannot put a bandaid on the troubles in the world by thowing money at a problem. It takes more than that. It takes time. It takes energy. It takes the world to heal the world and all the money in the world can’t stop a war. It’s the attention that people like Angelina Jolie bring to the issues that can help open eyes and bring about change. But she doesn’t do it all alone and it doesn’t make her a saint when one applauds her efforts.

  46. Cheyenne says:

@Rena: Don’t be to hard on what’s-her-face with the hollow lead feet. She already said charity isn’t her thing.

@Cut the Cheese: You have every right to express your opinion. And we have every right to tell you what we think of your opinion. Like you said, this is America. Ain’t democracy grand?

How about she donate the 10 million she got from her Louis Vuitton ad?

    ———————

Actually she did exactly that. Not the whole amount but a large part of it went to the Maddox Jolie Pitt Foundation in Cambodia, which she started in 2003. She’s built a Millennium Village, an animal and environment conservation park, a school, and a hospital in Cambodia.

(40)Sorry your name gets covered with the number on my screen.

I agree with everything you said in your rant it’s just the fact that once a “hater” always a “hater”. She may double her efforts and donations it won’t change a thing for certain people. What I’m missing is the info how much her critics donated to any cause and for how long did the maintain this donation/interest.

  51. folly says:

this is so sweet,i am so proud of her

  52. Addie says:

    @ Rena
Very interesting facts and very well put.

Angie may not be able to save the entire planet(no one person can) but she is helping as much as SHE is able to

Glad to also see that Angie is aging with grace.

  53. RocketMerry says:

Ahahahah, I completely adore the “deep-empathy/sad-sad” face she makes whenever she talks to people on her humanitarian trips…
It’s as if she thinks that these people are some sort of desperate human cases. That does not look like compassion, that looks like pity. Can’t she just be herself around them?

  54. bc says:

All these people need is Angie to get photographed with them and all their problems are gone.

  55. lily says:

If Angelina just do an ad for Louis Vutton, the haters would analyze the picture to death no matter how beautiful it is and true to form
the minute she is doing something good out of it they are all up in arms . As you can see they can’t stand it if Angelina is being praised for doing good deed. These haters always circling Angelina like sharks ready to pounce on her for anything good she is trying to do. I am proud to say I am an Angelina fan. I rarely reply to comment until reading these ridiculous bashings.
@ Liana and Dr. bombay: I totally agree with you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  56. Liana says:

Way to do your charitable acts in secret Angelina.

    * * * * *

She’s an ambassador and a spokesperson for the UNHCR. Her job is… um… SPEAKING about the issues surrounding refugees.

  57. Shay says:

Um Waq, what about the tax breaks she gets? The UN has the gall to ask people to donate money, when they can’t even do their own jobs properly. So many people have been massacred or died under their watch!

It really nauseates me when people refer to her like she is a deity.
Come back and talk in fifteen years when her kids go off the rails, because the fact of being looked after by nannies (not just one, but many) while their parents jet about, they will go off the rails.

to Angelina: look after your own brood before you set about being a global ‘deity’.

BTW (Teri) I’m not the second Shay comment in this stream of comments.

  58. Caribbean says:

There are other ways to make money, and get attention and not do anything…DON’T BELIEVE ME?? WELL THEN…Just look at the Kardashians!!!!!!

  59. thesea says:

Angie, take up your bed and walk.

Thank goodenss she brought my attention to the refugee issue as I would have had no idea even though I live in a refugee area. She must be the only person on earth who knows about this. Praise God she doesn’t keep it to herself. Oh let’s face it – Angie doesn’t keep anything to herself except her cards.

  60. MarenGermany says:

She does not play an act.

  61. mln76 says:

@Shay glad that you wish the J-P kids well. No one knows the future of ANY kid. And shame on you for wishing bad on them in order to prove your point, all because some marraige didn’t work out. I don’t like Tom Cruise and I don’t approve of alot of the things he does. But I wish with all my heart that Suri will be OK because it’s not her fault what circumstances she was born into. Since by looking at a tabloid or viewing on the internet you have no idea how much time Angie or Brad spend with their kids you should STFU.

  62. Shay says:

mln76, if you think jetting about the world at a fart’s notice is healthy and an exemplar example of parenting, then kudos to you.

Once a mistress always a mistress. The fact that she adopted children doesn’t make her a saint. Ultimately, she cuts another woman’s grass, tries to pass herself off as a saint and obviously has problems with consistency; posing for a luxury label in a developing country.

You really think those kids have a chance?
They don’t even stay at the same school to develop any social relationships. You think that’s normal?
All I’m saying is that they don’t have it easy. Angelina and Brad think that these kids are little adults. But when they get older, they’ll be living out of eachother’s pockets because I doubt they’ll stay in any school long enough to have real friends.

You can tell me to STFU all you want, I don’t care. I’m just pointing out the realities that star struck people like you avoid.

I feel sorry for those kids. It’s sad not to be able to stay at one school, but to fly everywhere and not really have that social contact. I can only imagine how this will contribute to their social development.

There are so many other Hollywood couples who don’t employ an entire entourage of bodyguards each time they go out. But these two have lost the plot.

  63. mln76 says:

You know absolutely nothing about those kids, or what friendships they have. And having worked with kids in truly bad circumstances I think all kids have a chance either to succeed or fail. Whatever happened in the Bermuda Triangle has nothing to do with how much she loves or cares for her kids. I’ve never called her a saint however I recognize that she has done a lot of good around the world. It’s funny because certain people love to say loons worship her meanwhile they revile her as some sort of supernaturally evil goddess that has some sort of power over them.
She is a human being, she has a lot of faults and she’s publicly made a ton of mistakes however I think she should be applauded for the good that she has decided to do now.

  64. Chloe says:

    ————————————-
to everyone who says Jolie is doing her charity work for publicity:

yes, as we all know publicity is PRECISELY what she’s missing in her life

PS. Seriously. Get your sensitivity chips readjusted, or I’m gonna think you’re uncool.

  65. thesea says:

Go listen to Marlon Brando interviews on youtube – and I think old Bill Shakespeare said it first – everyone is player – even st. angie – we are all acting – all the time.

  66. Cheyenne says:

@Shay: Your fake concern about the welfare of the Jolie-Pitt children is nauseating, to say the least.

@thesea: “All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players” — Old Bill

  67. badrockandroll says:

@Kim 123 and others who have quoted another unnamed site to suggest that Jolie has done this PSA in retaliation to various Aniston stories floating about.

Putting aside for a moment that the Aniston stories have been largely unflattering and largely seen as anothr attempt by her people to keep her in the public eye when one of her films are released, it has also been pointed out that World Refugee Day has been observed on 20 June for 60 years, and that Jolie has been doing PSAs for it for about a decade. Perhaps the plants about Aniston and her de facto married man were in anticipation of this yearly event? Hmmmm …

  68. Crash2GO2 says:

@Cheyenne: Even though it has been discussed numerous times before, you still trot out the innacurate statement that charity is not Jennifer Aniston’s ‘thing’.

So here we go again: From a press conference in LA:

So, was Aniston interested in any global issues? How about the war in Iraq or global warming?

“No,” Aniston replied. “I’m not interested in any of that.”

“I like to just focus on me and my tabloid career.”

Her deadpan answer, dripping with sarcasm, scored plenty of laughs.

And then a list of charities that Aniston either has worked with or is still involved with:

    AmeriCares
    Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation
    Clothes Off Our Back
    EB Medical Research Foundation
    Feeding America
    Friends of El Faro
    GLAAD
    Habitat For Humanity
    Lili Claire Foundation
    Luke Neuhedel Foundation
    OmniPeace
    Project A.L.S.
Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network
    St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
    US Campaign for Burma

  69. thesea says:

    @Crash…
That was a really clever reply Aniston had. Very, very funny, too. She was probably raised not to toot her own horn regarding charity.

  70. Crash2GO2 says:

@theresa: Yeah, it was a cute response, but one that has brought about a lot of backlash for her. And just for the record, I don’t think Angelina Jolie is into tooting her own horn for what she does either.

  71. Chloe says:

Okay, since irony doesn’t fare well. Do any of the people bashing the ad actually *get* the concept of a UN Ambassador?

The very role implies that you perform it in the public eye.

Also, I honestly can’t wrap my head around you saying that anyone (and let’s forget JA for a moment, say Spielberg, Bill Gates, whatnot) does charity work anonymously while AT THE SAME TIME you quote numbers and names of organizations those people donate to. How exactly is it anonymous?

Also, donating is one thing, popularizing the cause and the said charity is something else – it actually REQUIRES big press coverage and a name all journalists will be eager to write about.

Not that I think there’s anything bad in ANYONE going public with their charity work. I’d never have heard about half of the charities if it weren’t for some celebrities.

Last but not least – how can you claim that UN has done no good in the world? I mean.. Are you serious?

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills

  72. thesea says:

Just for the record I totally think Angie is all about tooting her own horn – anyone who would use their own children for publicity has got something wrong with their heart.

Go to youtube and watch what Marlon Brando has to say about actors using their children, too.

Many celebreties get along just fine doing their charity work and raising their children behind the scenes.

  73. Chloe says:

Why are you so angered by the fact that someone is helping other people? Is it because you don’t? Is it because you do and don’t get recognition you think you deserve? Is it because you don’t think it should be recognized?

I’m not trying to pick a fight, I’m seriously asking.

  74. Cheyenne says:

@Crash: It’s a long way from throwing a check at a charity every once in a while (hell, she probably has her agent cut the checks for her), and actually getting hands-on involved with that charity. Do you know of any she’s been hands-on with?

  75. REALIST says:

Reality Check: What are YOU doing for World Refugee Day?

  76. badrockandroll says:

And Marlon Brando was such a model father!

  77. Franny says:

I don’t know why people keep saying she is raising her kids in the public eye – I think she is keeping it pretty close to home with the kids. Yes, once in a while they go out for ice cream, or to the premiere of the children’s movie their mom made, but otherwise they live secluded in…France? Somewhere in the countryside. I mean, its not like they can keep the kids locked up for 18 years. And none of us know how they live. Just because we (or most of us) had a tradional upbringing in 1 house with 1 school doesn’t mean that how these kids are being raised is wrong. They are experiencing the world. I doubt that Brad and Angie are just neglecting their education, or that they don’t have any contact with other kids their age. And on top of that, there are plenty of people who have that “normal upbringing” and still end up batshit crazy. SO. I suggest you take a step back and stop making this outrageous claims about things you know nothing about.

  78. Cheyenne says:

@thesea: You’re using Marlon Brando as a role model for the ideal parent? ROFLMAO!! I can’t think of another Hollywood parent who did a worse job as a parent than he did.

  79. sandy#1 says:

good on angie for still being active and caring, I’m sure the people who benefit from her work who can’t speak for themselves appreciate her efforts.

  81. Joe Shmoe says:

It’s always good to voluntarily give to those less fortunate, however, this is show business.

Image Junkie celebrities, like an Angelina Jolie or a George Clooney, do this kind of work to present a false image of themselves because it helps their career. If this didn’t give them positive press, they wouldn’t bother having their photo taken with people of the 3rd world. Which, by the way, they (the celebrities) are always the focal point of every photograph.

It’s all PR. It’s all a performance. Worse of all, they recieve accolades for having their photos taken with ‘poor people’ for bringing ‘awarness’, as if us regular civilians didn’t know about these things if it weren’t for a Hollywood actor getting their photo taken.

  82. thesea says:

My dear Cheyenne, I am using Marlon Brando as a role model of an actual actor.

  83. Stunning,Breathtaking, simply Beautiful. That’s how I describe her Louis Vuitton ad.I commented on the story, but it did not go through.Hey,if there’s a will there’s a way.Hopefully, this will go through!

  84. trish says:

Why on earth do you lot bicker like kids? Who cares why she does this and that? As for her children, they will choose their own paths and some will be fine and some will be messed up. Out of my family-two turned out just fine, the others were too lazy to bother. Let the kids have a childhood before they are written off by the likes of you. As for me, Angie is a fake and always will be, so shut up.
