Victoria Beckham: Harper Seven is “the most beautiful baby girl I have ever seen”

wenn3363279

Victoria Beckham would like you to know that her daughter Harper Seven is much prettier than your daughter. Obviously. Victoria isn’t going to say it like that, of course. She’s merely going to declare, “Baby Harper is the most beautiful baby girl I have ever seen. I have fallen in love all over again! We all feel so blessed, and the boys love their baby sister so much” on Twitter. Of course mothers will always think their baby is the most beautiful, the most special, the brightest, etc. Posh is no different in that respect. But it certainly feels like there’s a hint a judgment, right?

Aw, I don’t begrudge her, honestly. She finally got her girl and she must be beyond thrilled and excited. I bet David is “over the moon” as well. To their credit, David and Victoria seem like great, involved, loving parents and I’m sure Harper Seven is going to be one of the most spoiled princesses in all the land. Speaking of, we never talked about an interview Posh did before she gave birth, where she discussed her plans to dress her little girl up in all the frilly little things she can find:

“As any working mum out there knows, it really is like juggling glass balls when you’ve got the kids and a husband to look after, and you’re passionate about your career,” Victoria Beckham, 37, tells Women’s Wear Daily. “But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m blessed.”

Turning her attention from her line to her soon-to-be daughter’s growing wardrobe, Beckham admits her baby’s closet is already fully stocked.

“But not in an obnoxious way at all,” she adds. “I love the French clothes for little girls. I like little girls to look like little girls.”

But while she may be looking forward to showing off her daughter’s style, there is one thing Beckham won’t be displaying anytime soon: her baby bump.

“I’m not really one of those people that likes to go out and pose and flaunt being pregnant. Not like there’s anything wrong in that. I’m so proud to be pregnant and I feel so blessed and so happy, I really do,” she explains. “But I’m just not that kind of person. So, no, I won’t be taking my clothes off. I don’t think anyone needs to see that, other than my husband [David Beckham]. Absolutely not.”

[From People]

Don’t you really want Harper Seven to be a little tomboy now? I want her to be all about soccer, like her dad, and to eschew frills and pink and heels and makeup. I think Posh would accept that, of course, but I just think it would funny.

One of the only times severe boasting is acceptable. IMO, of course.

  2. DogBoy says:

Can’t see that excited loving comment coming out of the stone cold face with lifeless eyes. PR team came up with it.

  3. Sam says:

Didn’t David post a kind of “flaunting” picture of her pregnant belly before she gave birth. he wouldn’t have done that without her permission, and she was clearly posing for it!

  4. HappyMom says:

I think it’s funny that right after she said she didn’t like to show off her body-David posted a pic of her sunbathing “without her knowledge”. Sure. Anyway, congrats on the beautiful baby-I’m sure she’s precious and will have gorgeous clothes.

  5. Cherry says:

@ Kaiser: ‘Don’t you really want Harper Seven to be a little tomboy now?’
Actually I was thinking of something else… Imagine Harper growing up to be a chubby girl who loves her beers and chips and be totally comfortable with her weight? Wouldn’t that be the nail on Posh’ coffin?
Other than that… congrats. They seem like a happy family 🙂

  6. Katyusha says:

What else is she going to say?

  7. katnip says:

They really are being more vocal. I guess it’s because its a girl. But all the talk about the baby is mostly the fashion (roll eyes). And really the fashion choices will be when she is walking around. While won’t be for a year or so. Now that means a wait.

I don’t here people talking about what she looks like. Is there any interest in that. I wonder if the British press and population are all excited about this. It is not that big a deal in the US

  8. Quest says:

Every woman in the world that gives birth thinks that their baby is the most beautiful ever, you really can’t hate on that. I am just glad that they finally had a girl and did not name her Closet or some out of the way name

  9. tapioca says:

“I wonder if the British press and population are all excited about this.”

The press gave it lots of coverage, obviously, but while Posh & Becks used to be newspaper royalty, now we have actual Kate & Wills-type royalty to go crazy over. If only the Beckhams had had her last Summer!

  10. RHONYC says:

i can’t wait to see her snatch-back after Harper.

i remember after she had Cruz, he was like the size of a small turkey while she was back in her size 2 skinny jeans like in 2 months.

she’s got an unbelievable ability (like Angie) to give birth to huge babies & bounce back without a hitch. i think it’s the breastfeeding that does it.

    good on her. 😉

  11. folly says:

congrats to them,i wish them all the best,i hope the girl turn up to be the one taking after her father’s carreer and tomboyish,i know they will still love her,but it will be fun

  12. Mitch Buchanan Rocks says:

I think they could have given the child a prettier name than Harper. When I hear that name I think of Canadian Pm Stephen Harper and he ain’t pretty.

    Great post Rhonyc!

  13. Jaceie says:

Please let her be a tomboy like Shiloh

  14. LLLLLL says:

All the boys take after Victoria, and i think little Harper is going to look a lot like dad.

  15. really says:

    Just evil eyes……….. CREEPY!

  16. Vickyb says:

Aw, I’d definitely cut her some slack for this. Of course that’s what she would say about her new daughter – anyone would. The judgment would be from everyone else if she *didn’t* say something like this!

I like to bitch as much as the next person but sometimes you just have to let someone have their happiness.

  17. Bess says:

I hope little Harper turns out to be a daddy’s girl. David seems like the type of father who would totally dote on his daughter. I just hope that Victoria doesn’t try to force her sense of style on her daughter.

  18. Mika says:

@Cherry. YES! I totally agree. Baby posh should totally turn out to be a fun-loving, beer and chips girl with a raunchy sense of humour and a spare tire. I also picture here with a really deep Leeds-style accent. Posh would die.

  19. Bobbie says:

I had three boys first, of course I love them all, but my fourth baby was a girl. I wanted a girl so much and I was so happy when I got her. I thought she was the most beautiful baby girl I’d ever seen (she wasn’t-looking back on newborn pictures). She’s 2 now and I still think it. There is something really wonderful as a mother of boy household to finally get a daughter. Congrats to her even if she is an irritating hag. I don’t begrudge her this joy.

  20. KJ says:

This baby NEEDS to be a footballer. I have no doubt she’ll love fashion and shoes or whatever, but something tells me that surrounded by all those athletic boys, there’s no way she’ll turn out a total girly girl. Growing up with brothers and being the only (youngest) girl, it’s almost impossible not to get your fair share of bumps and bruises, and learn how to give them.

  21. Sloane Wyatt says:

OMG, in that 2nd photo Posh looks like ‘The Crypt Keeper’s wife!

    Scary.

  22. feebee says:

I think she will be a fun-loving happy girl with a rauchy sense of humour because despite Posh’s public face I suspect that’s how Posh is behind closed doors.

Don’t know about wishing a spare tire on her just to spite her mum. I would laugh if she turns out to be a soccer star – the only one of the siblings.

  23. curleque says:

I can’t believe I’m saying this… that interview with WWD makes me like her, and I don’t know why.

  24. Maritza says:

I think Victoria only smiles for her newborn daughter and maybe her boys if their lucky. What’s up with that? Does she think it makes her look mysterious or intriguing? Cause if she has bad teeth she could have had them fixed by now and no one would have noticed.

  25. Stubbylove says:

I’ve always liked VB for some reason. Let’s just all appreciate the fact that she is private about her pregnancies and doesn’t feel the need take those stupid-ass naked prego pics.

  26. mommyesq says:

That’s probably the most “normal” thing I’ve ever heard come out of her mouth!!! Congrats to them both!

  27. guilty pleasures says:

Wait, wasn’t MY baby the most beautiful ever??? 🙂
Congrats to she and her family, I do like her. She seems to have a great sense of humour, it can’t come across in the incessant photos taken of her, but she showed it in her brief reality show.
Why the hate? She hasn’t eaten any kittens that I know of!

  28. ladybert62 says:

Does she ever display any emotion on that face? It always looks stone cold and those deep-set eyes are strange. Her whole demeanor is odd – dark, dark, dark.

Glad for the baby girl – hope she is not suffocated by mom’s wishes for her to be a girly-girl. I bet she turns into a tomboy with all those male hormones running around in that house!

  29. hello says:

    I adore VB.
She’s already explained her frozen “b*tch face” which i understand and how she did not want DB to snap that preggo photo of her so despite her fab and posh life/image, i truly believe she’s sweet and has her priorities in check.

    LUV HER!

  30. ElleGin says:

Lol, Posh looks stone cold, but in her interviews, a lot of the times, she doesn’t seem so bad, especially compared to one Goop.
I cna’t say I like her but as a mum, I think she is doing alright. Their sons (I hate their names) seem rather normal, and the couple seems to be really involved. I totally agree that Victoria would accept it if her daughter turned out to be a tomboy. She would have a few years to play dress up anyway.

  31. P.J. says:

Of course mothers gush over their newborns, but it’s bad taste for beautiful, privileged and immensely rich people to boast about their lives in public.

Her thoughts were perfectly natural, but she should have kept them private, not announce it to the world.

  32. 4Real says:

I said the same thing…still do.

  33. Charlotte says:

I used to think Posh was a haughty B, but she briefly had that reality show and was naturally hilarious on it. It wasn’t rehearsed or pre-written humor. I only saw a couple of shows (there may have been only a couple of shows), but they really changed my opinion of her!

  34. Samihami says:

Oh, please. I say congrats to her on having a healthy baby. I’m glad she got the girl she has wanted for so long. I would think there is something terribly wrong with her if she didn’t think little Harper was the most beautiful baby ever.

And no matter what she grows up to be like, I’m sure her parents will love her just the same.

  35. loveyourwork says:

I hope that Harper is beautiful and loved, tomboy, girly-girl or whatevs. My only real question is:what is her nickname going to be? Harpy? that’s just terrible!…Sev? Maybe? Will Posh even do nicknames? I feel like they didn’t fully think this one out…

  36. ladybert62 says:

re loveyourwork: That was exactly my first thought when I heard the name – the nickname will be Harpy (how awful since harpy has such negative connotations!)

  37. Isa says:

Nope! My baby girl was the most beautiful ever!

  38. gab says:

Poor baby having to look at that face as mommy!! She has the warmth of skeletor! Better hope she looks more like daddy.

  39. TXCinderella says:

I think Harper is an adorable name! Now that VB has long hair, she looks like the character of Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

  40. OriginalGracie says:

Vicky and David have absolutely beautiful children and they are very well behaved and look loved and well cared for.

I don’t like the way everyone always pics on Vicky. She is what she is and just because she doesn’t smile doesn’t make her an ax murderer or a cruel harpy, or unhappy.

I wish them all the best.

  41. mags says:

Harper is a great name. makes me think of Harper Lee (writer of To Kill a Mockingbird, an American classic) and congrats to the family.
i do have a feeling that little girl will have her daddy wrapped around her finger in no time.

  42. Alex says:

can’t be mad at her cause my baby is the most beautiful baby girl I have ever see :). Congrats to VB and her family

I think we moms think our babies are the most beautiful we have ever seen

  43. hello says:

    i think “BABY HARPER”s a cute nickname 😀

  44. Mingy says:

she looks like voldemort with long hair..but im sure her baby girl is quite the lil cutie tho.

  45. Jana says:

I never cared for Victoria, just from her stonefaced photos, until they moved to America and she had a shortlived reality show. She has an adorable personality and very self-deprecating humour. She even admits she looks bad in her photos, not friendly. I love her now. But Seven? I love Harper. But Seven is just bad.

    Edit:

@Charlotte, I just saw you posted the same thing about changing your opinion of her from the reality show. She really is so different than her photos depict. Quite funny, quirky, and actually not pretentious in the least. I could see why he loves her.

  46. zesty says:

Didn’t she say she didn’t smile because she’s self-conscious about her mouth or something? I think she’s shy too–it’s like everybody picking on Nicole Kidman for being an ice princess when she’s just nervous and self-conscious. Geez, leave them alone.

  47. kim says:

Everyone thinks their baby is cute, no matter how ugly the baby actually is.

And yes there are some ugly babies that grew up to be cute 2. . .others stay ugly.

  48. blouson says:

I disagree. You can say your child is gogeous without saying its the most beautiful ever…its just social skills. Manners. Good taste. Why do so many parents thig reproduction gives them free rein to say obnoxious things…not that tis is but man, I have heard some whoppers whilst trapped in the mummy years.

  49. Chris says:

I know Seven was a great movie but naming your baby daughter in honor of it is a little creepy.

  50. april says:

When I’ve seen her in interviews on tv, she’s very likeable and beautiful. I can’t wait to see photos of her baby.

  51. Tara says:

Victoria’s face absolutely terrifies me – she’s such an alien zombie vampire witch cracken ice queen. Her kids probably have no pets because she bit their heads off for protein. I hope Baby Harper has her daddy’s smile. I love the name, btw.

  52. eternalcanadian says:

@Jaceie: That would be interesting if Harper did a Shiloh–refused dresses & wore whatever she wanted & was batter at soccer then all her brothers. 😀

  53. aj says:

indeed i hope harper doesnt resemble the ugly mom

  54. TL says:

    Eat!!

  55. Camille says:

“Don’t you really want Harper Seven to be a little tomboy now? I want her to be all about soccer, like her dad, and to eschew frills and pink and heels and makeup. I think Posh would accept that, of course, but I just think it would funny.”

    This.
And yes it would be incredibly funny. I hope Harper turns out to be a massive tomboy. 😆

  56. CCM says:

GADS! She looks like the Grim damn Reaper. Is she allowed out in daylight? OMGhoul!
