Chris Brown’s crotch- grabbing ‘Today’ gig got an audience of 18,000

chris_brown_048_wenn5690892

Do you know how early I get up? Too early. And this morning, getting out of bed was really, really hard (I had been dreaming about Michael Fassbender, I think). So I did my morning routine, and settled in to watch the first 15 minutes of the Today Show. Wouldn’t you know, that was a really crappy way to start my day. Chris Brown was going to perform later in the morning, and there were literally thousands of kids – mostly girls – waiting for him in and around Rockefeller Center. They were screaming and acting ridiculously excited to see him and it disgusted me so much, I just turned off the TV. These are some photos from Chris’s performance this morning – first, he was dressed up as some kind of “nerd” I guess – bowtie, vest, etc. But then he took off more clothes as he performed, and he began grabbing his crotch a lot. Because… women like that? Gross.

According to Hollywood Life, some fans waited TWO DAYS for tickets or front-row action. More than 18,000 people showed up, and many of them had homemade signs that said crap like “My heart only belongs to you, Chris Brown.” As far as I can see, he just performed and didn’t have any kind of hissy fit or window-smashing freakout. So… good? If you’d like to see all of Chris’s performances on Today, go here. Here’s one song:

By the way, in this week’s issue, Star Mag had a story about Chris Brown dropping homophobic slurs on his bros during a game of basketball. Chris said it never happened, and that he might sue:

Brown’s rep calls Star’s tale, printed in the July 25 issue, utterly false, saying that Brown wasn’t even playing basketball on the day the magazine claims.

“A totally fictitious article ran in the current Star magazine accusing our client Chris Brown of doing something that he did not do,” says Brown’s rep of the story appearing in the July 25 issue that was reported online Wednesday by the tab’s sister site, Radar Online.

“He got really ticked off when things didn’t go his way during the game, saying, ‘That’s gay!’ and ‘You’re a f—–t a–!’ to the other players,” the magazine quotes an unnamed “eyewitness.” The article features a photo of Brown confronting another player.

So what’s Brown’s side of the story?

“He spent the entire day with dozens of members of the production team filming the video for ‘Body to Body’ at 1870 Sunset Paza in West Hollywood. The Star accompanied the fabricated story with a photo of Chris playing basketball in New York that was taken on the day of his F.A.M.E. CD release in March,” his rep adds.

“Chris Brown’s management is considering taking appropriate legal action against the paper. Unfortunately this bogus account is being picked up by additional media outlets. We stand behind our client and want to set the record straight that this did not happen.”

[From E! News]

They’re going to sue Star for printing a story that everybody believes because of Chris Brown’s long history of saying homophobic junk in public? Rii-ight.

By the way, is this one fug vest or what?

Go away and rot, Chris Brown.

  2. Liz says:

why do people still listen to this guy? he is not an exceptional musician, thrives because of his self-absorbed arrogance and is obviously a chauvinist misogynist. I don’t get it

  3. Rita says:

    @Kaiser

Please remember this site is open to young girls and boys. Perhaps you should reconsider putting the words (dreaming about Fassbender) in the same sentence with “…really really hard”. Not being critical, just constructive.

I also might point out that Chris and his partner are not so much grabbing but rather probing with a middle finger….OMG what’s that about?!!! Does his fans know?

  4. Leticia says:

I’m so tired and repulsed by seeing adult men grab their crotch in public. It’s not shocking. It’s just gross and inappropriate.

  5. Jackson says:

I don’t now, nor will I ever, understand the desire to see this tool or pay him any attention whatsoever. He is such a pimple on the ass of society and reflects much of what is wrong with it. Maybe when he’s done fondling himself he will just go away.

  6. Leticia says:

And tattoos used to be countercultural and rebellious. Now tattoos are just another sign of conformity.

  7. Rita says:

    @Leticia

“I’m so tired and repulsed by seeing adult men grab their crotch in public”

Either you go to a lot of rap concerts or you should shop at a different mall or move out of your neighborhood.

  8. Ron says:

One of my best friends lives directly behind the house in Hancock Park where the Rhianna incident happened, and after hearing first hand about her bloody and unconcious laying in their lawn I can just never listen to this guy without those horrifying images coming up in my head. It says alot about these women’s sense of self worth that they would put themselves anywhere near this pig. He should have gone to jail for what he did.

  9. buckley says:

I hate this piece of shit.
When is karma gonna come calling?

  10. Kimbob says:

Here we go….this is one celebrity I actually dislike so much I can use the word, “hate.” I don’t like to use that word much, but so very apropo here.

Chris Brown is a BRAT that has so many “entitlement issues” that I’m getting nauseated even thinking about. I wish he’d just disappear. His antics, behavior, lack of respect for women and gays…he can go to hell!

  11. MymaJane says:

What are those things on his hands? Someone with anger issues should not be allowed to wear those. They look dangerous!

  12. brin says:

I just switched over to GMA….Brad Paisley, so much nicer.
WTH are on his hands….stud gloves?
    *waving at Rita*

  13. lucy2 says:

I was going to agree with Jackson’s comment, but I think buckley’s might be even better!
Seriously why does he have fans? And if I were a parent, I would really try to remove him from my kids interest.

  14. Raised Brow says:

“Either you go to a lot of rap concerts or you should shop at a different mall or move out of your neighborhood.”

@Rita: Your statement hints at a subtle racist remark. Care to elaborate?

  15. Alice says:

So sad that none of his fans have any self-esteem. If they did they’d stop idolizing this homophobic woman beater.

  16. Juliesunflower says:

Society has been so conditioned by the media, that once someone has been labelled ‘bad’ everybody follows suit – the media has condemned Chris and people do same. The media labelled Jolie a ‘homewrecker’ people followed suit; Aniston was ‘the good one’ even when she shamelessly stole another woman’s longterm partner. What Chris did was not good but people should stop condemning people out of hand – remember Michael Jackson. As for those saying he is little talent , I say BS!

  17. Jezi says:

I used to enjoy Chris Brown and I loved his ability to dance and put on a great performance. He was actually quite attractive at one point. Now I look at him and I want to just gouge out an eye.

  18. ladybert62 says:

I dont understand the crotch grabbing (started with Michael Jackson didnt it?); I dont understand the tattoos; I dont understand rap. Call me old but the rock and roll in my day had more class than the bunch of punks calling themselves rappers/singers today.

  19. jane says:

    @ Rita
No offense, but children shouldnt be looking at a site called CeleBITCHY in the first place. There’s so much talk of “dong” on this site, I’m kind of surprised you took Kaiser to task about dreaming of Fassbender.

  20. Smokey says:

Better that he’s grabbing his own crotch rather than a woman.

    But it’s still gross.

  21. Cidee says:

Kaiser- Please don’t tone down the language. If “young girls and boys” are being corrupted from reading the pithy content on Celebitchy, maybe their PARENTS need to monitor their internet time. Viva la dongs!

  22. the original bellaluna says:

What kind of idiot would wait for 2 DAYS to see this tool? And what kind of idiot parent would assist their daughters in waiting for 2 DAYS to see this tool? I just can’t with this.

@ jane – I think @ Rita is being a little sarcastic or risque, if you will. (Talking about Fassdong and harder in the same post.) Rita, please correct me if I’m wrong.

*waves @ Rita, brin, jezi, & Madisyn*

  23. Findley says:

Are those knuckle dusters for his fists? Really?

  24. jover says:

So true Leticia #6 – tats with some few exceptions are just monotonous, it’s as though many people are so lacking in real depth and substance that this is the only way they believe they can distinguish themselves from everyone else, except, as you stated, when you can get tats at your local strip mall, its hackneyed and conventional.

  25. Praise St. Angie! says:

“Society has been so conditioned by the media, that once someone has been labelled ‘bad’ everybody follows suit – the media has condemned Chris and people do same.”

sorry, but that’s just totally inaccurate.

People have condemned Chris for what the media has shown them. they didn’t need the media to tell them that a man who severely beat his gf is “bad”. after seeing the pictures of Rihanna, I came to my own conclusion that he’s a bad guy.

  26. Rita says:

    @Raised Brow

Now you’ve done it!! You shall rue this day in having played the race card with me!!!! (I’d capitalize but CB doesn’t like that so I give you 4, count them 4!!!!)

Since you did not elaborate on where you find racism in my remark, I can only assume it is because I referrenced the genre of rap music (initially spelled it “wrap” which indicates my interest). It’s just that I don’t see “crotch grabbing” that much in country music (although I keep a close eye on Darius Rucker because, you know, he’s black and “it” could pop out anytime).

Now I shall turn the “race tables” back on you. Since you see a hint of racism in my referrence to rap music then is there not the same hint that you consider rap as “black” music? What about all those great white rappers like….like…like Vanilla Ice? Hmmmmm! Let’s not suffer the poetic beauty of rap music in the foil of stereotyping.

(I hope you know I’m just messing with you. If you were taken aback by my remark I do apologize to you personally but in general such a remark could not be taken as racist unless one is looking for racism. )

    Be well today.

  27. spinner says:

@ Raised Brow #14 – Perhaps you should go raise your brow elsewhere if you’re looking for subtle racist remarks.

  28. Delta Juliet says:

Yeah, I turned the Today show on as I was getting ready and I didn’t catch who the concert was, just that there were “record numbers” of people there to watch. Of course, my interets was up so I stayed tuned in to find out who this amazing artist was.
Once I heard “Chris Brown” I actually said WTF amd shut it off. People need to stop adoring this guy and treat him like the piece of garbage he is.

  29. Amanda G says:

He’s a fantastic dancer, but a terrible singer and he’s not even good looking, intelligent or charming. Plus he beats the shit out of his gfs. I guess those qualities make a great pop star nowadays?

  30. Chloe says:

    @Juliesunflower

I don’t think I despise Chris Brown because I am conditioned by society. I despise him for what he does and says.

  31. Praise St. Angie! says:

    Rita, you’re so awesome.

(“wrap”…hehehehe…reminds me of a running joke in my family when it comes to wrapping presents…)

  32. Jezi says:

    @the original bellaluna hey girl.

@raised brow really? Rita is extremely sarcastic when she writes. I agree with Rita when she says you must be looking for it. Eminem is white and he’s a rapper.

  33. The Bobster says:

Do people really like that fake auto-tuned crap? It was like hearing a computer sing.

  34. Ron says:

@juliesunflower. Society did not beat Rhianna unconcious. Chris Brown did. I wouldn’t care is it was some nameless Joe who did it, any man who BEATS a woman unconcious is a pig and needs to be treated as such.

  35. Thea says:

I have no use for this troll and never will. And I am offended that Rhianna follows him and talks to him on Twitter. She has talent. This man/thing did. He is so out of control and delusional, he is like Lohan, but better looking. Go away.

  36. skilo says:

UGH! He is so disgusting to me. Every thing about him just screams a#$hole. He would be probably first on my list of people I ‘d like to disappear from the face of the planet.
Happy Weekend all my faithful Celebitchy gals!

  37. dr.bombay says:

    He repulses me.

  38. Sloane Wyatt says:

@16 Juliesunflower: No one is being too hard on Chris Brown. He beats women!

  39. Anna says:

The guy is a classic sociopath.

  40. Jana says:

I thought his career shouldn’t be ruined if he got help. But when he threw his fit at ABC because of a freakin’ question and threw the chair at the window, I knew he didn’t take psychotherapy seriously. But he has a right to a career and it’s the next girl’s issue. It’s not like they didn’t have warning, but somehow I don’t think he will ever beat a woman again, just tear up his homes since his anger management didn’t seem to work.

  41. Juliesunflower says:

First, nobody is condoning a man beating a woman but the issue is that Chris is being given the long end of the stick; with people trying to deprive him the right to a livelihood while forgetting that artistes like Eminem , the Rolling Stones, JayZ etc. have done exactly the same thing even to throwing tantrums and wrecking things. Fortunately, there are people who recognise Chris’s talent and know he is one of the few artistes today who sings without autotune and he can DANCE! He made a terrible mistake but people should allow him to move on with his life without holding him to a different kind of standard like Rosie O’Donnel said.

  42. original kate says:

    baby-man.

  43. BeckyR says:

    Talentless baboon.

  44. Nah, nah & nah... says:

Can we send him, R. Kelly and the Prince of Monacco (as Thurston Howell III) on a 3 hour tour? I mean, really? No, really.

  45. dovesgate says:

He made a terrible mistake and hasn’t tried to make amends. Publicly. Just like his last beating of her was.

Ike Turner went down in flames after the last time he beat Tina – I think Chris should do no less.

He’s a turd lying on the sidewalk that should have dried up and rolled away but for some reason the neighborhood strays keep coming along and pissing on him so he stays wet and stinky.

Perhaps he ought to get out of sight for awhile. Maybe go on The View and leak a few tears while apologizing. A public service announcement, sizable donation to a women’s abuse shelter or organization. Anything that shows hes attempting to change his mind set. Instead, we are subjected to his temper tantrums – something that no one in his age range nor career position ought to be having.

  46. Callumna says:

What have you got to do to not get booked on NBC?

That network has really gone downhill. There is no lower than promoting an actual girl beater. Stardom’s a privilege, not a right. Wish one could vote him off the island — no way does he have more people who’d vote him off than fans. I bet 18 million people would vote him out of entertainment if they let us. I mean OJ dated weirdos after everyone found out he beat (and killed) Nicole and people wanted to marry serial killer Ted Bundy but the majority of the public wishes he’d go away.

I’ll gladly stay away from any network or show that doesn’t get that.

  47. texasmom says:

I heard an interesting interview with Jay-Z on the radio where he revealed the real reason rapper grab their ‘nads on stage: rappers don’t come up performing, they make their big break in the studio. Only after they are succeeding do they ever find themselves on stage, with a big audience, not a starter audience, exposed (no turntable to hide behind). He says the instinct is to grab yourself because you basically feel naked.

He didn’t say why they keep doing it, tho. Bad habit? Because everyone else does?

In the meantime, I think Chris Brown is douchy and unappealing.

  48. Juliesunflower says:

Chris is not talentless and neither is he a ‘talentless baboon’ – the comparison between him and Ike Turner who continuosly beat dear Tina on a regular basis for the fun of it or the murdering devil that is O J Simpson (even typing OJ’s name makes me feel dirty) is unwarranted. Before this incidence happened, Rihanna had been known to slap Chris around on a regular basis but due to his age (19), instead of leaving the relationship, stuck around to that terrible night when anger got the best of him. As for apologising, how many times? Joe Jonas should steer clear of Delta Goodrem because the same thing will happen to him. So, people cut Chris some slack .

  49. TAMMY says:

It amazing to see everyone so upset with him because of the incident and the victim Rihanna has moved on following him on twitter and probably sleeping with him behind doors, you people is still mad. Get a life.

  50. Chloe says:

Yeah, I’m sure Rihanna gave him a beating more than once and it was just.. uhm.. postponed self-defense. Is that what you’re saying Juliesunflower?

Besides, it’s also about how he’s been acting afterwards and the things he’s been saying (not only regarding his ex-girlfriend.) Honestly, I think it’s a bit insulting, how you seem to imply that people are unable to form opinions on their own.

And please don’t make excuses for his age. All around the world men and women this age are sent to war, vote, get married, work and basically take responsibility for their actions. If he can’t, he or his people need to rethink what they’re doing, instead of insisting on promoting him for whatever reasons. Maybe a *serious* therapy would be in place. Or a reality check.

  51. Chloe says:

    @TAMMY

This is not only about the “incident,” as some like to call it and their terrifying toxic relationship.

Look. Chris Brown obviously has anger issues so deep that he’s capable of losing control and injuring another human being. It’s not something you get to apologise for – no matter how many times you do. It’s something you have to solve before you hurt ANOTHER person, or yourself.

He is obviously unaware of how serious his actions are, and none of his friends and caretakers are acknowledging it. By therapy I don’t mean seeing a specialist once every two weeks and in the meantime demolishing a studio here and there (which is another sign of how deeply his issues run). I mean going away to figure out what kind of person you are and why you can no longer be that person (aggressive, homophobic, angry man-child).

Instead, his people and his “faithful fans” attempts to carry on as if nothing really happened, which sends a horrible message in the context of the widespread problem of violence and abuse towards women.

Honestly, Chris Brown’s apologies are worth as much as Lohan’s “rehabs” – except Lohan never actually injured anyone except herself.

I find it disgusting how the show biz is willing to wipe it under the rug and keep promoting his performances.

  52. Princess says:

A lot of have problems with our behaviours and if people start treating u like an infections am sure we wont appreciate it..what chris did was wrong but he has talent and shouldn’t be treated like a plague..

  53. Princess says:

.A lot of us have problems with our behaviours and if people start treating u like an infections am sure we wont appreciate it..what chris did was wrong but he has talent and shouldn’t be treated like a plague..

  54. K-MAC says:

he makes my skin crawl now. At one point I liked him and thought he had talent and so much promise. He is pretty gross

  55. Juliesunflower says:

One wrong does not a pariah make. Who has not made a mistake in their life and wished people would forget so they could move on instead of having it thrown in your face all the time. It looks like people just want to continue to bait Chris for the joy of it. Nowadays, people just follow the pied piper; while the victim has forgiven him.

  56. the original bellaluna says:

I can’t with this. I don’t like repeating myself. Read my comments on the J-Ho/Marc Anthony divorce thread for my opinions/experience re: abuse.

    FYI: Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetness.

  57. Anti-icon says:

Well, at times like these, my (long dead but never far from my heart) mom would shake her head and say “there’s no accounting for taste.”

  58. B86 says:

A man is not a Man, if he hits a woman. And +to the state, in wich Rehanna was. Pictures were awful. Man has to controll himself, with a Woman, even if she slaps, a man, should leave from the situation, then maeby from the relationship, if slaping goes on. But finding releaf in beating a halfyoursized girl, that is groce. Too bad, girl looks to be back together with him. Well, atleast when next time it happens, she only can blame herself. This guy looks so full of himself. I dont get it, how can he be still atracting some women to conserts.

  59. Anonymous says:

This is the last time I am going to comment on this website. But I believe that Chris Brown was set up, and didn’t beat up Rihanna. Chris Brown is a very talented singer, actor and dancer no matter what you say or think he is still living his dream everyday. I am not defending, I am not saying that beating Women is right, but obviously it’s wrong, but where I grow up and brought is I learnt is to forgive, because that’s what Rihanna is trying to do, I ain’t judging him, because I feel his mother’s pain, some of you here are parents and don’t think your children are perfect or better than Chris Brown because at the end of the day he is still better than others who have done other things which are worse and yes he is 22, and everyone makes mistakes and I think he realises it, but only GOD, God can judge not you or anyone else only God. He I think deserves a second chance, for our generation he might not be our best role model but he is the best entertainer in Music especially him and Beyonce in our generation right this time. That is all I have to say, judge me all you want but I don’t Care at the end of the day,I’d rather listen to him than Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift anyday

  60. alecia moore says:

i never realy liked his music just ingnore him he tryin to get attention yes he is a good dancer but he messed it up when the riahna incedent happend he just tryin to get back up there with gaga and them but this doesnt help at all it makes me not like him more

  61. Juliesunflower says:

Chris has legions of fans and what he did was inexcusable but he did not hurt a child or kill somebody. It would gratify the haters for him to crawl on the ground perpetually and to have a hang dog face forever I think. Is it any wonder actors in the closet refuse to come out – because once out, people refuse to give them good roles and they are reduced to ridicule while forgeting they were more suitable for such roles ( people never knew Rock Hudson was gay and he played his heterosexual roles with aptitude and charisma) which is why some castings don’t jell. Chris is not a paedophille for everybody to jump on the bandwagon of hate .By the way, his music and dance moves are fantastic!

  62. B86 says:

Juliesunflower You just Can Not compare beating up a woman, to how Rihanna looked like, and beeing Gay and afraid to come out. Beeing gay, That is no hurtful Physicaly and does not cause health risk to anybody. What if Rehanna would get brainseager of those hits that she took? Young people can be exposed to that also, some bike accident as a child, or just weak blood veasels, you newer know what a “man” can do and consiquinces, when he beats a girl to the point that her face looks like a swallen bleady meat. So, if sosiety now don’t aprove that from a man, then it has some relation to gay’s coming out? We forgive quite good, aparently. He fine, giving conserts, still has many young girls chearing for him. Maeby they think “WITH ME that boy would be different”. Tv people let this all go too easy for him. If you are fan of This spoiled brat’s selfopearence, don’t defend his stupid, vialent and weak selfcontroll showing behaviour by Comparing it with coming out of a closet. And yes, all people make mistakes. But not every man is able to beat a woman So Bad. Hes age is enough to have some self controll. He looks like spoiled boy, and he acts like it too. If a male is ready to be with girlfriend, he must be ready to not act on his ragebursths. Maeby he was drunk that night, or sm, does not mather, hes sopose to not distroy his girls beauty no mather what. I also got once slapped by exboyfriend. STILL feal bad, hadnt own pepperspray Then… I left that a* wright after that. And if I’d be this guy’s mum, I would make him show moore regreat. If your job is to be public figure, dont beat girls. How sexy is a boy that can hurt a girl?

  63. twn265 says:

@Juliesunflower: This guy has a huge anger management issues and needs LOTS of therapy. Me thinks that before the bloody beat down of Rhihana, he was cocky little bully, that hassled friends and classmates alike. Probably was hurting animals too. I doubt the beating of Rhi was his “first”. What if he had KILLED her in in fit of anger? I mean really?? You act as tho he gave her a little slap. Her eyes were black n blue! Women beaters are social pariahs. So be it. He has no remorse, he probably figures “she deserved it” in in messed up mind. He should just go away already. He’s done

  64. really says:

DISGUSTING. ANNOYING. PATHETIC. PUNK ALERT. PIG!

And I must say since he is a puking “woman beater”: BITCH!

He should of long been in jail, grabbing his punk crotch in there…where he belongs!

And I so agreee: this walking garbage is a SOCIOPATH. I would not want a dog to see this punk, let alone children/teens!

  65. TL says:

We don’t live in a entertainment society anymore. It’s entertoonment. Case in point, this one and Jersey Shore for example. Lets all get drunk and forget these morons.

  66. Juliesunflower says:

Chris is not scum:- he did not beat up a child and neither is he a paedophile or a murderer . He deserve to have his career back.

  67. Aaron Seiber says:

This blog is definitely rather handy given that I’m in the moment creating a brand new site – even though I am only starting out for that reason it is actually fairly little, nothing like this site. Can link to some of the posts here as they are pretty good.
