This was a pregnancy that felt like it went on forever – I could have sworn that Selma Blair had been pregnant for more than a year. I think that’s because she was overdue, and she kept getting photographed endlessly. Anyway, Selma finally gave birth! YAY! She had a boy, and she and her boyfriend named the kid Arthur Saint Bleick. Mother and son are happy and healthy.
It’s a boy for Selma Blair! The actress, 39, and her fashion designer boyfriend, Jason Bleick, welcomed son Arthur Saint Bleick on Monday, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
Arthur weighed in at 7 lbs., 12 oz.
The couple, who met when collaborating on Bleick’s line EVER, announced her pregnancy in January. Blair chose to keep the sex of her baby under wraps until the delivery.
“I’m not going to say what it is yet. Hopefully, it’s one or the other,” she joked with PEOPLE.
The actress was recently nominated for a Grammy for Best Spoken Word Album for Children for the audio book Anne Frank: The Diary Of A Young Girl: The Definitive Edition.

Saint? Arthur? It’s not bad, I guess. It’s no Aleph. It’s no Harper Seven. I hope they don’t call him “Art” because then Lady Gaga will try to adopt him and eat his face. Did you know there was actually a Saint Arthur? He was martyred during the reign of King Henry VIII. Is Selma trying to make a political statement about the illegitimacy of the Church of England?!!?

My cousin’s name is Arthur. He goes by A.J. Funny story: When my aunt had him, she was going to name him Anthony, but my semi-deaf great grandpa misheard my grandmother and thought she said the baby was named “Arthur.” He was so happy & said, “About damn time someone named their kid after me.” So, my aunt had his name legally changed. My cousin hates his name, btw. Lol

I am SO happy she finally popped. She was like…2 weeks overdue? I think? I was only 5 and I was so miserable, I thought I was going to die. I literally peed every 30 minutes. Anyhoodles, congrats, SB!

Still wish she was a Zappa. She was much more interesting back then.

I wonder if Saint has any significance. Like a family name or something.

I love her maternity clothes. I could never find anything that cute when I was pregnant and huge.

Well at least its a normal name. I like it better than any of the celeb names out there. A good strong manly name!

I’m glad that she let Baby Arthur choose his own birthday in this day & age of “too posh to push”. The very end of pregnancy stinks, but its so worth it to let the little ones brew as long as possible.
Congrats to the new family!!!

Hats off to any mother who goes overdue. Especially during the summer.
