Jessica Alba shows off her Eco-friendly home

If you’ve been wondering what new mom Jessica Alba has been up to since giving birth – aside from glowering at paparazzi and posing on the red carpet – the actress has just completed an environmentally-conscious renovation of her L.A. home. Just was does such a renovation entail? Mostly recycled materials and non-toxic paint. Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, made an extra effort to keep things green for the sake of their daughter, five-month-old Honor, and their dogs.

For Jessica Alba, motherhood means eco-friendly living – and plenty of couch-jumping.

“It’s kid-friendly, animal-friendly,” the actress, 27, tells In Style magazine of the newly renovated L.A. canyon home she shares with husband Cash Warren and their 5-month-old daughter Honor Marie.

“You can jump on the sofas, walk around barefoot,” she says in the magazine’s November issue. “There’s nothing off-limits here.”

By using nontoxic paints and recycled furniture, the new parents – whose family also includes three dogs – pulled off an environmentally friendly renovation.

“The energy here is so inviting – it is open and playful,” says Alba. “And everywhere you look, inside and out, you get to see a part of nature.”

As for how Warren, 29, contributes to the new house, Alba says, “he’s pretty organized for a dude.”

We’re in the middle of a renovation project on our new home, and I’m loving the non-toxic paints we chose. They’re a little more expensive than regular paint, but there are no fumes- a big deal for me, since I’m expecting. I can even have my kids help out with the painting without worry. If we had more of a budget, I would have opted for green building materials too – but those are big bucks. Anyway, it sounds like Jessica and her husband had a good time with this project, and it probably came out a lot better than her last movie – that Mike Meyers stinker, “Love Guru.” Maybe if her career doesn’t work out she can become an environmentally-friendly interior decorator.

We’re fixing up our new home (“remodeling” is too strong a word, since it’s mostly paint and floor), and the low-VOC paints we’re using have made the task much more manageable. Even for those of us who aren’t expecting, the reduced fumes are noticeable!

Come on, “glowering” at the paparazzi? There are actually plenty of sets of pictures where she’s perfectly pleasant. I love how she has this rep of not smiling just because she doesn’t like the paps. Why should she like the paps? Why is the state of her smile for twenty people crowding around her such a big thing? And she’s been on all of maybe five red carpets as she seems to have spent most of her time actually, you know, being with her newborn.

Her useless fugly douchetastic husband is named Cash Warren, btw. Reading is fundamental!

ll, it’s her job to be photgraphed. If she doesn’t like the paps, she shouldn’t have become an actress. And she DOES glower.

I was hoping there would be pics of her home, since it says she “shows it off.”

I’ll always remember when she got Punk’d. She came across as such a spoiled little brat, I’m surprised she didn’t start sticking her tongue out at some point. I don’t care how good she looks, smiling or not, her attitude is awful.

I just cant stand this woman!

I have to agree with elisha and whatevs above – she has a really bad attitude and being a celebrity it is her job to be photographed. As she for some reason is considered one of the sexiest women out there attracts even more photographers.

But it wasn’t always like this. She was dating Michael Weatherly, her co-star from Dark Angel, for almost 4 years and during that time they were both very paparazzi-friendly and always smiling whenever the paps came snapping. Then something happened and after a few random dates she ended up with the two-timing cheating greaseball loser she ended up getting knocked up by and marrying. And during all this time she turned into the Alba-bitch, dressing like crap and either hiding from the paps or yelling or obscenely gesturing at them. Observing all this from the outside, not knowing anything about the details, it is obvious that she was far more happy and in balance when she was with Michael than she is now, although there are signs that she’s slowly surfacing again. She used to be a nice person and she might become that again.

I have disagree with people that say since she is a celebrity she should always smile for the paps…

    I think / know you are wrong…
    Here’s how…

If she is on the red carpet, pushing a new series / movie, pumping some new / old item that she is PAID to do, YES she whould smile and be pleasant.
And I bet you will find very few pics where she isn’t…

However, when she is out shopping with her child, coming out of a store / mall or driving on her OWN personal time NOT being paid, she is OFF the clock and rightfully should NOT have to be pleasant to the Paps that are just trying to horn into her normal living time away from the work she is paid for.
She doesn’t get a bit of pay for the paps getting in her way / face to take pics during her time. I think her being displeased and not smiling is TELLING them this is unwanted.

    More power to her.

For those who don’t understand this, try working 24hrs a day nonstop, 7 days a week, at some time you will have a problem with it as well.
    I sure would.
