I’m not a Rafael Nadal person. I’ve always preferred Roger Federer, as an athlete, as a gentleman, and just by comparative attractiveness. It’s not that Rafa is unattractive… he just doesn’t do it for me. I think he looks uncomfortable most of the time – like, the only time he ever looks in his element is on the clay, and beyond that, he just doesn’t care for the rest of the world. His discomfort does not turn me on, and I can’t see past it (much like with Kristen Stewart). Perhaps I’m being converted, though. These are some new Armani ads starring Rafa, who replaced Cristiano Ronaldo as the official crotch of Armani – Rafa and Megan Fox are the two current crotches of the brand, and I’ve included some of the older ads below.
Now, what is it about lovely black and white images (the campaign is shot by Steven Klein) of an athlete’s body that makes me stop and look? I think it’s because Rafa’s incredible body comes from true athleticism and hard work – he doesn’t look like a gym rat. He looks like he’s out there training. Hard. It’s hot. Plus, in these shots, his face doesn’t look so… ratty.

Thank you Thank you for some props to Rafa – am looking forward to the Open and his ability on hard court’s main event this year. No doubt his body is amazing but I gotta agree, he’s totally got the “Blue Steel” going on! However, he’s a tennis player – not a model.

the total package with his demeanor, grace and confidence. The other Spaniards Verdasco and Lopez and the Argentinian Del Potro now those are some hot men.

I really am against these soft porn pictures that have become ubiquitous – they are everywhere – mags, television, billboards.
No longer does a product sell by its merits, but by the sexy image projected along with the product.
I think it really is disgusting – regardless of how attractive the person is.

Well the first picture certainly captured my attention! I don’t care for the blue steel look of the last two. But ultimately he looks very different.
Federer is no different from Nadal in having separate on and off court personalities. Federer’s (previously well documented) temper and occasion verbal volleys at the chair during changeovers have been whitewashed every since he became “Federer”. But really I can’t see the appeal in Fed’s closed in features.
Doesn’t matter I prefer Djokovic’s play and personality anyway.

Rafa looks fabulous. I’ve always liked his personality and his talent – down to earth compared to Federer. Federer is a notoriously sore loser too. And speaking of tennis “models,” Djokovic was in Vogue recently in a Speedo looking hot – he also has great court presence and sense of humor.

They’ve tried to style him like a Latin Beckham…and failed miserably. Rafa doesn’t do “smolder” very well. He’s a tight, bouncy, energetic type of guy so why don’t they just let his real personality come through?

Well….. I used to wonder why I didn’t like Federer’s face, until someone put a closeup of his face, next to a closeup of Quentin Tarantino’s face, and VOILA, they are twins, separated at birth!!! If you don’t think so, check that comparison out!!! It is hilarious, and I don’t look at Federer the same way anymore.

Rafa is okay. . . . seems like a very nice guy, but Federer is the one who does it for me. I love me some Roger Federer!!!! Roger is hot in an unassuming way (I don’t think he would ever dream of posing like this), he’s sweet, he’s a good sport, he loves his wife and their little girls. . . I love that man!!!!

I guess those last two photos were aimed at the same-gender population as they’re all about the arse.
I don’t care for underwear ads, whether male or female. It just sexualizes things and we have enough problems in society without having more naked and “come hither” adverts at bus and train stops.
