Here’s Katie Holmes at the VMAs with her pose-hard face that is in no way justified by the very budget-looking dress she’s trying to work. This plain lace Azzedine Alaia dress looks like something from the sale rack at Forever 21. She could have saved it with some hot fashion-forward shoes, but instead she chose these terrible light brown lace up boots! What was she thinking?
You can tell she thinks she looks hot. All that auditing must have fried her fashion chip.
Katie presented the video of the year, which Katy Perry won for Firework. Her voice cracked a lot and she looked pretty nervous up there to me. I guess she’s promoting that Don’t Be Afraid of The Dark movie, which was out this Friday. It pretty much tanked at the box office and came in third after The Help and Columbiana. She’ll have to ditch her husband if she wants her career back. It worked for Nicole Kidman. She can act though.

Ugh. Katie cannot dress at all. She did better when she was working with a stylist at the beginning of her relationship with Tom. Now that she thinks she’s a “fashion icon” on her own, she ditched the stylist and is showing us how incredibly UNSTYLISH she really is.

No Nicole Kidman’s career still sucks. I love her though. Actually Katie’s film has done better than Nicole’s recent films so…idk. I got the Forever 21 vibe too and then Katie got up there and opened her mouth and I was like whoa…she sounds weird and then I muted it. Love her makeup though.

She’s a very pretty girl and the dress is ok but I agree the booties look horrible with this dress. They also do nothing for her legs. She’s not fat but her knees/lower thigs are just awkward. When that area is covered on her she looks smashing.

Agree the shoes are ugly. However, that doesn’t mean they are not in style. I live in New York City, and I see a lot of similar shoes showing up in store windows. I think the designers have run out of ideas for attractive styles and have decided to embrace the ugly. And I’m sure women here will buy them. They’ve been wearing sandals with 6 inch platform heels all summer, which don’t look good on anyone, so the booties are the next logical step.

That dress would look much better with a lower neckline held by stringy ties across the shoulders, lower hem and much thinner belt-line just below the waist, with strappy nude or black shoes. Those boots are a wierd choice to say the least.

Katie Holmes looks much better these days as far as hair…for one, her own hair is growing out from that shorter cut she had for so long, plus I think she’s been wearing extensions to boost that look even more. Well, the dress is okay, at least it compliments her figure and her legs, although it’s not a showpiece. The brown booties might work best with another look, maybe pants. She could have worn strappy shoes since she has good legs. The posture, not so good, and the leg is far too bent. The pose comes off as someone trying to look a bit sexy and waifish, younger than her years. I like Katie, but I find that often her dressing style can be a bit off.
