Alyssa Milano gave birth to a baby boy, named him Milo Thomas

Alyssa Milano finally gave birth! I had kind of forgotten she was pregnant, but that’s a good thing. Alyssa did several red carpets while she was knocked up, but it wasn’t like she was getting pap’d constantly and I was always aware of how far along she was. So good for Alyssa for keeping it partially low-key. Anyway, Alyssa and her husband David Bugliari welcomed their son Milo Thomas yesterday.

There’s a new boss in Alyssa Milano’s house: her baby boy!

The actress, 38, and husband David Bugliari welcomed a son named Milo Thomas Bugliari on Wednesday at 9:27 a.m. He weighed 7 lbs., and was 19 inches long.

In March, Milano announced on Twitter that she was expecting a boy.

The actress told PEOPLE she was having a lovely pregnancy and knew her husband would be “the most amazing father ever.”

And before she even met her son, he was already making her laugh. Milano told PEOPLE in May, “Every time I get an ultrasound, he’s doing really funny things like sucking his thumb or elbowing me.”

Milano and Hollywood agent Bugliari wed in 2009, and this is the first child for both.

Thoughts on the name Milo Thomas? Milo Bugliari? I kind of like it! Yeah, “Milo” is kind of a dog name, but I also read Jonathan Kellerman’s Alex Delaware books, and so my first thought went to the cop character named Milo. Think about it this way – Alyssa and David could have gone with something super-Italian-sounding, like Alessandro Bugliari, or Rodolfo Bugliari. I’m kind of glad she went with the dog name!

PS… do you think David asked for a paternity test? Doubtful!

there’s no such thing as normal hollywood has always had it’s share of strange names. being named after some one one of your parents admire’s is pretty common as is to be named after litterary/film Characters Milo is either after her last name Milano or actor Milo O’shea with whom she worked a couple of years ago or if someonenamed one of their daughters Taylor most people would think it was either after Taylor Swift or Elizabeth Taylor

  7. RocketMerry says:

Alessandro is the Italian form of the Greek name Alexander; it sounds very good when pronounced correctly and is a typical and very common name. I kind of like the name Alessandro Bugliari, it sounds good in Italian.

Happy first day of spring to fellow south hemispherian Addie 😉

That yellow dress with the black polka dots is a bit tragic. But congrats to Alyssa and kudos for wearing those heels with that bump.

I think it’s a cute name, but I always think of Milo from Milo and Otis whenever I hear it.

*waves @ brin* It’s a perfect doggy name!

Congrats to them. And a big sigh of relief with Alyssa, as I am also the mother of an August baby. (It SUCKS to be big pregnant in this heat!)

KatScorp – You’re here again! Yay! What I keep looking at in that pic is her shoes and thinking “her poor feet!” They look pinched and swollen in those shoes.

  10. gee says:

Whats so bad about an Italian sounding name? Speaking as an Italian-American.. I don’t see a problem.

  11. mia says:

I like the name, and Ricki Lake and Liv Tyler both have a Milo too! Or maybe she’s just a huge fan of the malted hot chocolate drink?

my cousin named her son milo too. he’s a cutie
only problem is here in in Australia we have a chocolate flavouring you add to milk called milo (like nesquik but wayy better!) so it is an unusual name here.

  24. Kellie says:

I thought for sure that baby would be at least 10 pounds, she was very big towards the end.

  25. Denise says:

What’s wrong with Milo? I think Milo Ventimiglia is hot…..and he certainly does not look like a dog to me.

  26. Camille says:

Yeah I don’t love the name, but at least it wasn’t crazy stupid like ‘Egypt’ or ‘Bronx’ or something.

Anyway, congrats to the new family! 😀

  27. Addie says:

@Caity. Lol. We have Milo drinks in South Africa too. It come in cerial, milkshake and chocolate bar form too.
