I’ve already covered the photos of Dame Goop at the Venice Film Festival, so here is her costar, Matt Damon and his shiny head too. I know he shaved his head for a movie, but I really, really dislike this look on him. He looks so much hotter with hair. But! I like that now that he’s 40, he’s finally “filled out”. Long gone is his boyish, skinny (but built) body – his face has filled out and he seems like he’s carrying around twenty pounds that he’s never going to lose. It looks good on him. Sidenote: can you believe that he’s 40?!?! When did everyone get so old?
Anyway, here’s Matt and Lucy at the premiere of Contagion. Lucy wore Gustavo Cadile, which looks kind of like vintage Badgley Mischka, or current Elie Saab. I don’t love the dress, but I think it’s kind of cool and unusual that Lucy is showing off her tan lines. In the age of fake-bakes and tanning beds, it’s nice to see someone who came by their tan the old-fashioned way. I always like that Lucy looks like a normal person – she’s really pretty, sure, but she looks like a normal mom of four who just happens to be married to a movie star. I also like that Matt is groping his wife a bit – that’s his hand on her ass. Now we know why she keeps getting pregnant.
By the way, Matt told reporters that his wife’s nickname for him is “Red Alert” because of how he fusses over their kids. Matt said: “I’m probably more protective than I’ve ever been now that I have children. My wife [Luciana]‘s nickname for me is ‘Red Alert.’ I sometimes check to see if the kids are breathing. I tend be a little overprotective without trying to be a helicopter parent.” Aw… is it possible that Matt is really and truly this nice and decent? Is it possible that he loves his wife and kids, that he has a great marriage and that he’s truly the exception to the “Hollywood douche-cheater” rule? Fingers crossed.

I think Matt looks great with a bald head. He is was looking gross with his long hair and he finally lost they weight he put on for Contagion and Zoo.
Paltrow is hopefully standing on something or Damon is severely short. GP is 5’9″, possibly 6′ with heels and Damon’s at shoulder height to her.
@amanda I watched that episode of Oprah. I totally think it was true. They probably had a bad fight or something but hadn’t officially broken up. I think he’s grown up alot stayed away from his buddy Ben and has settled down with a low key lady.
The hand/bum graze is the best thing about these pictures.
The Damons seem like an awesome married couple and so much more in tune with one another than the Afflecks. Disagree if you want, but I think that Lucy is 100 times better looking than Jen. Matt comes across as loving his marriage and kids AND they aren’t pimped out for press events. The only time you see his kids is a random pap picture.

Maybe I never thought much of him before because Ben Affleck seems like a pompous moron and it was guilt by association…but Damon does come across as a truly nice guy. His wife is a lucky lady. And she’s gorgeous. (Although the fit of that dress is…not good)

I’ve always thought Luciana was really beautiful. She looks gorgeous here, except as everyone as pointed out how the dress is fitted at the top. I think that has a lot to do with the dress’s straps–one is skinny and the other is thicker so it gives the top this lopsided fit. If both had been thicker straps, it probably would have been okay. She is also from Argentina so I’m thinking the tan is natural. Matt looks good too–bald may not be the best look on him but it’s not horrible.
Rumor is that she got/keeps him because she accepts/participates in whatever scenario he wants. That and the kids.
Damon isn’t dumb, much of his appeal lies in being seen as the happily married family man. He saw the sh*tstorm of hatred after the “dumping” of Minnie Driver on Oprah. Which, by the way, may have been overplayed but I believed it at the time. And I saw him differently because of it. Granted, that was 10 years ago so the only thing that lingers, in my opinion, is the lesson Damon learned about public perception and the effect it has on your image and marketability.
Perhaps Affleck remembers that lesson too….

Wow, a few of you are haters. She is an attractive woman and you must have crazy high standards if you don’t think so. I don’t think that is sideboob actually-I think it may be some sort of gauze material for the dress on the sides-like a side panel to keep from gaping. Just not the greatest fit.

I think she looks great- way better than the goopy. Side boob doesn’t look good but she is there to support him not look perfect. I find it funny–and telling–that the ‘closet gay’ rumor about Matt Damon started after he got married. To me, it sounds like sour grapes from gay men who ‘want’ him to be gay, and from women who ‘want’ something to be wrong with him and his seemingly happy life; or from women who wish they ‘were’ his wife.
About the dress: That is a side panel that would have appeared flesh tone on say Gwyneth Palthrow, but it is in contrast against Lucia’s natural olive complexion. It’s part of the bodice that is squishing her breasts and pushing them up into cleavage. It means the dress was probably a tad small for her figure, but it doesn’t mean she has implants. Not every woman married to an actor has implants, you know, and the Damon’s don’t do the Hollywood party scene so Lucia isn’t under pressure to make herself ‘fit’ into the Hollywood notion of beauty.
About Matt’s Weight: Matt gained a ton of weight for his role in “The Informant!” (2009). Then he turned the fat into muscle without losing a pound for “Invictus” (2009) Then he lost some of the muscle and some of the weight for “Hereafter” (2010) Kept the muscle and lost more weight for “The Adjustment Bureau” (2011, but filmed in the fall of 2010). He looks nearly the in the trailers for “We Bought a Zoo” (December 2011) as he did in “Hereafter.” And he’ll probably look heavier, or about the size he’s been this past year, for his next three films.
Two of his recent films don’t count weight-wise: “Green Zone” (2010) was actually filmed in 2007 just after Matt finished “The Bourne Ultimatum,” and “Margaret” (September 30, 2011)–an Indy film also starring Anna Paquin and Mark Ruffalo–that was actually filmed in 2005.
I forgot to mention in my previous post that Matt Damon couldn’t possibly be CUBA in Lainey’s blind item because she said that CUBA is a happy father who ‘settled down and reformed’ and Matt hasn’t done anything to ‘reform’ from. That usually means a drug, alcohol, slutty, or an abusive past … none of which Matt has. And he wasn’t a huge party or ‘P’ hound before he got married either.
