Gwyneth Paltrow, flat-ironed in all-black: lovely, dated or peasanty?

wenn3500941

These are new photos of Gwyneth Paltrow, out and about in London last night for Fashion’s Night Out. She was at some Coach event at their new store, and Goop finally dropped the orange and went back to black. I actually like her outfit a lot – it’s flattering, chic and simple. The pants are especially nice. Here’s a question, though: Why does Goop insist on flat-ironing? I get that her style heyday was in the 1990s, the Era of the Flat-Iron, but surely she knows that by continuing to flat-iron her hair, she looks… dated?!? Goop? Never! But she does – imagine how much better she would look if her hair was fluffy and she let her natural waves fly?

In other Goop news, she’s just signed on for a new movie that will have her playing a sex addict. How gauche! The film is called Thanks for Sharing, and it will be directed by Stuart Blumberg, and costar Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins and Joely Richardson. I wonder if this is yet another supporting part that Gwyneth can film quickly so she can rush back to her children, her only “real achievement”.

Also – did you know that Gwyneth didn’t update her Goop newsletter for more than a month while she went on holiday? Being a professional snot is SO HARD. But Goop returned this week with Gwyneth’s “scrapbook from Venice”. Basically, she just took photos from her phone and wrote down everything she did for two days. It’s pretty much an advertisement for Contagion, which comes out this weekend (which I think will bomb at the box office – just my opinion). Here’s Goop’s intro:

Hello lovely readers! I’m just back from a delightfully laborious Labor Day weekend in Venice, Italy, where I was in attendance for the premiere of the excellent film, Contagion. It was just over 48 hours of jam-packed happenings and the food was sublime. Below is my little scrapbook.

Happy back to school. Not.

Love, GP

NOT. Gwyneth and Justin Timberlake are the same. They are both so, so dated. They both say “Not” like it’s still cool. Anyway, you can read this week’s Goop newsletter here, and I’ve included some of the photos below. NOT. No, I did.

I think she looks beautiful! However, I preferred her hair when it was mid neck mob like at Iron Man premiers, it looked so much healthier.

I love her blouse. I’m glad she didn’t wear orange. It made her look like a stretched out oompa loompa.

Decline. Stuck. Trying entirely too hard. (“Not!”….really?)

And why does she have that menu up like a fence on her table? Like her husband, does she not want to be pap’d with something she purportedly loves? She is bizarre.

I did use the “not” once here (on a thread about Vanessa Hudgens if I’m not wrong). Felt so bad later on — for using such a dated expression — that I almost slapped myself.

Never again I’ll say that, I promise.

I don’t like the black London outfit especially the top she has no boobs so it looks baggy like it flapping in the wind.

I’m really looking forward to Contagion! I think it looks good and freaking scary because it could so easily happen. I just hope they don’t give us some silly ending.

Don’t care for the black outfit, or that orange monstrosity. But the bright pink dress she wore to eat fritto misto is lovely and it suits her.

It’s alright, very simple, way better than the puffy orange thing.
I can’t stand her, but I do give her credit for putting some no-makeup, rough looking photos on her blog.

No please don’t wish this woman on him. I think he is darling and Goop is just so…cluelessly annoying. Plus, wasn’t there a blind item about him being married to his current girlfriend by the end of the year?

flat stringy hair is “in” according to this delusional style maven. well, who are we NOT to concur? HAAA!

flat stringy hair also shows off her hideous dark roots, which are also NOT fabulous.

cases in point that money and skinny are not an express pass into pretty and stylish. she’s not fooling us, just herself.

If she didn’t act like such a superior, entitled elitist ass people wouldn’t hate on her so much, or maybe they would. I have no idea.

But I do love that color of blond that I could never pull off.
