Minnie Driver out with newborn Henry Story Driver

Minnie Driver and her adorable newborn baby, Henry Story Driver, were photographed out in LA on Saturday. Little Henry is just six and a half weeks old. There is not as much of a demand for baby photos now and magazines are less willing to shell out seven figures for rights to the first pictures of celebrity infants. Driver could have easily made some money with a glossy spread for Henry, though. Instead she chose to premiere the baby on her Myspace. She posted a simple photo three weeks ago of her cradling a sleeping Henry as she looked down smiling at him. It looked very sweet and loving, and Driver was not wearing makeup and didn’t even have her hair done for the photo. She looks kind of annoyed to be photographed out with the baby here, but at least this is an exclusive from the photo agency and she wasn’t mobbed by photographers. Just one snapper caught her out that day, and it didn’t even seem to wake up the baby. They’re billing these as the exclusive first photos of Henry, but they’re not since he made his debut on MySpace earlier this month.

Minnie is a first time mom at 38 and has refused to publicly name her baby’s father. She’s only said that he’s English, is very busy, and is sort-of in the same business. She next appears in Motherhood with Uma Thurman, and she is visibly pregnant with Henry in the film. It’s due for release in 2009.

Minnie looks great so soon after her son’s birth and she seems like a devoted and loving mom. It must suck to have your picture taken when you don’t expect it, though. It doesn’t look like she’s out on Robertson Boulevard or anything.

  4. His name’s almost like Rachel Weisz’, although her son was Henry Chance.

  5. I watched Eddie Izzard on tv recently and that little Henry has a very similar nose to him. Just saying…

  6. Story? What foppish fruity Hollywood drivel of middle name is that? Might as well have named him “Beatmyass”.

  7. I LOVED her picture with him on MySpace. I always look at these magazine covers of the celeb moms with their babies and the mom’s always have these beautiful, understated, makeup jobs done, and they still don’t hold a candle to the beauty of a new baby. I always feel like “Who are you trying to fool, everyone can see the baby is prettier.” But in this shot all you saw was love and warmth and a naturally happy mom with a beautiful fat baby and it just felt like she was putting the attention where it was deserved. Way to go Minnie!

  9. I thought I was one of a very few who questioned that the dad might be Eddie Izzard. S’ok if he is. I don’t see the big deal whoever it may be. I would think that Dad would be proud of the little critter. Times have changed.
